Honestly one of my favorite game series. Sadly though the original 3 are no contest the best. I found the ending to last specter idiotic and while the next two weren't worse, they still weren't as good. Still happy to see it come back from the grave though.
It was so fricking bad. Having multiple bland mysteries was a massive mistake, the puzzles were idiotically simple, and kat was a massive greedy b***h. I'm ecstatic that Layton finally got another game, but I'm apprehensive because the puzzle guy for the first 6 games is still not involved.
Everything I've heard so far is that they are pretty good with puzzles

Well that's good to hear. I wonder if the old Puzzle Master had notes on how he put his puzzles together or something as reference? Maybe the people who made the ones for Katrielle have improved since that title or have been stockpiling.
This is abomination of Layton Series
There's was a anime series about it too and it's was weird af.
The ending of whole series killed me. They solved mystery with literal power of friendship
The world and characters are extremely charming, the music is great, the puzzles are fun but as other anons said the answers to the mysteries are usually pretty moronic. I actually thought the Curious Village twist was ok, but shit just keeps getting more and more outrageous.
Still got the feels with Diabolical Box and Unwound Future tho
2>3>1>4>5>6
Thought there is only a big powergap between 4 and 5, the series becomes a little too braindead easy once it goes 3D, the games peak at 2, Pandora's box is fricking incredible and the only "must play" of the series.
I suppose for maximum enjoyment of 2 you should play curious village, and at that point you may as well round of the trilogy with 3. Still stand by Pandora's box being the best but when its sandwiched between 2 9/10 games you may as well play those as well. Come to think of it a lot of parallels to the Spyro trilogy in terms of quality.
I don't even disagree with you since I actually started with Pandora's Box. I didn't know much about vidya back then and I remember picking it up out of curiosity, to this day I still remember Folsense's athmosphere, so fricking good.
My introduction was the Ace Attorney crossover. So far I've only played Curious Village. I like the premise of the games, though I get impatient with a lot of the puzzles.
Underrated crossover, it's only crime was being a bit too easy, a sequel that wasn't afraid of ramping up the difficulty to being like the original games (Since now everyone will know the loop so no excuse) could have been a kino continuation.
I don't really care about that, but Deca Police looks like it might be a good time. That and Layton are the ones I'm looking forward to. Maybe I'll give the new soccer game a try, as well.
Original Trilogy was some fun shit.
I barely remember anything of the prequel trilogy aside from Emmy.
Was always mad that Flora kept getting shafted.
Kat is whatever, don't really care for her that much.
I want more of his serial killer schizo son or whatever he was and his qt assistant.
The DS really was an amazing generation. Preceding smartphones and introducing touch screen input alongside the two screens made for a wildly inventive ecosystem of software from many a developer. I imagine we may never see something that breeds so much creativity again in the gaming space. Layton feels like one of the era's standout offerings.
Incredibly comfy, full of soul, and the games are fun even if the twists are very outlandish (which adds to the charm for me, but I can see why some people don't like them). Plus Luke is a qt
It's so fricking underrated game series what the frick.
Unwound Future was peak kino even if I've heard some homosexuals crying about it because "Clive was a forced character" lmao frick off
i heff tvelve metchsteek
Very fun puzzles, love the atmosphere, and they're pretty fricking comfy. Unwound Future is kino.
Really good series, kinda sad they don't really have a modern equivalent
I like Professor Layton games.
really really stupid conclusions to all cases
moronic story
the gameplay is fun
>moronic story
I only can consider Spinoff with Katrielle having a moronic story
Literally a mistake in this series

>Puzzle guy died years ago
>They got quizknock to make a puzzles for them.
>Hope they would create actual complicated and fun puzzles to solve
Do they make good puzzles?

Probably they did
Both with puzzles and art style
Yeah but Kat's cute so it's okay.

Post your puzzle ideas.
okay imagine I had a basic algebra 1 problem but I worded it in a way that it's very obviously a gimmick riddle and no math is required
What's math got to do with puzzles?
No, I'm good.
They're superb. I've been putting off replaying the series for a long time simply so the puzzles would be fresh when I do.
I haven't played the PW crossover or Switch game though.

Reminded me of that fan video about mystery of the big dog that really catches the weirdness of those mysteries stuff.

Yes, 1, 2 and 3 are must play, especially 3.
First triology is literally based
This and also watch the Eternal Diva movie
Eternal Dive like the nicest movie from all video game movies

Peak gaming.

>Edgeworth's voice
Unironically what were they thinking
No idea, but weirdly enough, it has the best voice acting for Phoenix.
For those that don’t know yet, they announced a new Layton game that’s in development
It's nice that they managed to make Layton in 3D without looking bad, though puzzle quality still is yet to be seen.
OST had no business being this good
Just a silly baby boy for realz
Luke sexo
.....FRICK
Snap back to reality and got depressed over the ending of diabolical box
I WANT TO PLAY
BASEBALL
PROFESSOR
Then you'll quite like this puzzle!
>Sliding puzzle for arranging the field or something. Hint coins will still be happily taken.
I'm too much of a brainlet to enjoy them, i always get stuck on puzzles 🙁
Really great series; pants-on-head moronic plot twists but tier 1 puzzles and minigames besides the sliding ones
fantasy life is a better level-5 game
Didn't heard about that game for a while, huh
I've heard they also making new Fantasy Life for switch
I don't really care about that, but Deca Police looks like it might be a good time. That and Layton are the ones I'm looking forward to. Maybe I'll give the new soccer game a try, as well.
Story's usually dumb, but puzzles are fun. They really did Emmy dirty for no reason.
Well three first games is pretty neat with story
but other is kinda ehhh
Love the first three, but i dropped The Last Specter after 3 hours of playtime, i think the game just didn't grab my attention
Story is weak but it has the best atmosphere by far imo. Misthallery captures sleepy mysterious Bri'ish village so well.
I think this series have such a charming aesthetics to it and comes with a good story too
It's got special place in my heart even if it has some flaws

Pic related introduced me to Full Metal Panic! Thanks, Layton!

Baby man baby
