I very recently plaued those. They're fun. The music is great. I liked the spritework, too. The bump mechanics take some getting used to.
A couple things: 1 has some insanely hard fights. I played it on Nightmare my first time, and came against some challanges that made me regret living. 2, in comparison, is super easy though. Both have a lot of flavor text and a few obscure easter eggs, so always regularly check back on people in both.
Oh, and one more thing: 2 is an immediate continuation, and somewhat assumes you remember the first. So probably best to play it with the first fresh in your mind. Not a big deal, just something to consider.
A Poorly designed game with terrible bosses. Pretty kino adventure feel and bloody good music. The bump combat is just like it sounds, there is no secret to it. If you can like the combat, more power to you but i won't blame you if you end up skipping it. Once you are done, go play Felghana.
I didn't exactly enjoy the bump combat system or the somewhat clunky UI navigation in 1 and 2, that said Origin and every single game after that (yes, 9 included) are some of my favorite games period
my advice is don't get spoiled on the music, it's absolutely fantastic and it's even better when you don't see it coming
Adventure and a shitload of demons to slaughter to a great soundtrack. Try not to get discouraged by the mazelike structure or the difficult boss fights. If it feels like you're doing absolutely nothing to a boss, go level up a time or two. Don't worry about over grinding
The most outdated combat in gaming history. Go play oath in felghana instead, then origins
Then if you care about the story play 1&2, ark and go into the modern games (they arent as good)
Oh, speaking of, I highly recommend a gamepad for this game. I played the first all the way to the final boss using curser key controls before I finally realized "maybe I could fix my bindings..." then I realized I could play with my ps4 controller. Highly recommend to avoid blisters.
Great music
>What am I in for?
Bump system, the most underrated combat system of all time
Play Baldurs Gate 3 instead
youre in for the worst final boss in gaming
You can adjust the game's frame rate to make him slower.
The final boss of 1 is nothing compared to the final dungeon of 2
>the worst final boss in gaming
No, it's not.
Game?
Drakengard
I thought so. I've heard of whats coming, but haven't beat it yet.
Seriously?
3's worse
>you got it all wrong
Absolute kino ending
The PC ending version especially still gives me goosebumps
>very fun
>very short
>very decent start to a series of games
Adventure Kino awaits

you can change the art and music of both games on the options anytime, choose whatever you prefer
Unadulterated kino.
what did this anon said
this one too
and all the other anons who say you are in for a good time. 1 and 2 are a bit of a slog in some points, but after origins and beyond? Excellence.
I fricking freaked out when getting to this last week because I went "this got remixed for Ys Origin"
>using anything other than the original yuzo koshiro pc88 soundtrack
holy shit taste
Pure JP-KINO

Some good shit. Are you the guy from the other day?
I've only played 1, 2, and origins but I enjoyed all of them. Bump combat is surprisingly fun. Music is top tier.

I wanted to get into this series so bad because the music was great. Most of the games are pretty boring.

open up the controller configuration think via steam and check the refresh rate.
If you don't you might end up playing these games at 165FPS
