Popping two cards off an inherent summon is way better. It forces your opponent to activate stuff sub optimally because they don't know what you might destroy and it comes out of nowhere. BLS has to stand there like a goon first then target something.

The new ancient gear support got me thinking why does konami support archetype that were about OTKing in the past with new OTK cards instead of interruption?
Yeah SHS could get out some synchros with it's new engine and AG can get some xyz with its but both aren't allowed to set cards and it's not uncommon that they support decks with lots of interruption with OTK cards hell even traptrix got a card to help them wrap up games.
Most yugioh players unironically prefer this style of gameplay. They do not want long back and forth games, they want explosive first turns that decide games.

Ah this is just a normal opener on turn 1 with snake eyes apparently. Best case scenario I can think of in edopro is an opener with one for one, jet synchron, (both one offs btw), a rescue ace name, hydrant, and either rescue or alert. This technically gives you two more bodies through normal summoning hydrant, which gets you turbulance, and turbulance sets 4.
Elsewise, there is nothing consistent, nor good about this combo. If you guys can show me a replay where you can just seamlessly weave this in the main combo, fine, but i just cant see it.
Believe it or not ching chong/blackout with follow up is often times better than vomiting your entire hand then hoping you top deck Taia. Blackout is the entire board anyway.
She was only recently unbanned in both TCG/OCG and they are both stuck in fire format which doesn't run her. We'll likely see her in some combo decks in the future though.

Nah, in this case it's because it has good going first plays. While the following boards aren't great for a conventional deck, Borrelend + Savage, Spheres pass, and Spheres + Kaiser Colosseum are all incredible plays for OTK deck standards.

All orientals want to do is activate Red Eyes Fusion then set a bunch of floodgates. Every asian on the ladder would be playing Dragoon stun if it was allowed. It's just the way their brains are wired.

Not really. Yugioh is moreso a game of luck, rather than skill. Saying that is like saying "he'd beat everyone here at coiflips or dice." Unless he cheats, no he wouldn't.
Because they spend the money on the most powerful decks, as well as the travelling, and participating in as many events as they can to increase their chances to win.
Also, they don't WIN. They place, because everyone acknowledges that for TCGs especially, the luck is far too much of a variable in order to expect people to consistently win every time. This is doubly so for Yugioh where your 5/40 opening hand will determine your odds of winning or losing.
Run the numbers yourself. The highest record for consequitive wins is 5. And there are at least 14 YCS a year, and the people who've accomplished that have been playing for over 10 years. Yeah, I'm sure if you play over 100 tournaments you can expect to win a couple of them if you're very lucky and are doshing out the money to play the very best decks. Also I'm sure most of those collected victories were from a time where Yugioh was a lot less explosive and actually took more skill. I'd like to see anyone get 3+ YCS WINS top no1 in modern Yugioh.

I was low balling to be generous but there's a ton of instances in the game where people assume they lose to luck when in reality there was smart plays they could do to mitigate bad outcomes. Also I was serious about meta vs meta though, the game is a world of difference when it's high performance deck and player vs the same thing.

It's a solitaire combo deck. You can change up your lines, but whatever specific line you want you'll be doing. That said, being able to play through handtraps and having different lines depending on what you open will lead to games feeling different.
Konami just gave away a tier 2 deck for free. It's quite clear that they're really trying to reach out to casuals. Give Unchained away and sell Chimera to the Branded monkeys that will pay top dollar for new support after the upcoming banlist fricks them.

Because they spend the money on the most powerful decks, as well as the travelling, and participating in as many events as they can to increase their chances to win.
Also, they don't WIN. They place, because everyone acknowledges that for TCGs especially, the luck is far too much of a variable in order to expect people to consistently win every time. This is doubly so for Yugioh where your 5/40 opening hand will determine your odds of winning or losing.
Run the numbers yourself. The highest record for consequitive wins is 5. And there are at least 14 YCS a year, and the people who've accomplished that have been playing for over 10 years. Yeah, I'm sure if you play over 100 tournaments you can expect to win a couple of them if you're very lucky and are doshing out the money to play the very best decks. Also I'm sure most of those collected victories were from a time where Yugioh was a lot less explosive and actually took more skill. I'd like to see anyone get 3+ YCS WINS top no1 in modern Yugioh.

Over 150 tournament entries, playing the most overpowered decks in every format. Only 5 wins.
The top 64 at YCS tournaments are all the guys who spent top dollar to play the best deck. The majority of entrants at these tournaments, since they're not invitational, are playing whatever they can play, usually petdecks. Ofc the guys who play the overpowered stuff will consistently place in the top stuff over Gold Tier scrubs playing stuff like Marincess and Stun. Especially when they're also the ones with the disposable income to travel all over the world to enter as many tournaments as they can.
It's a grind game just like Master Duel. They guys who top in the DC just sit there and grind as many games as they can to get top spot. Then whoever gets first place is pretty much entirely down to luck.
tldr - go frick yourself.

It's more like 80% luck at least, and if you deny this, you;re in denial.
Most card games are closer to 60 /40, but not Yugioh.
I was low balling to be generous but there's a ton of instances in the game where people assume they lose to luck when in reality there was smart plays they could do to mitigate bad outcomes. Also I was serious about meta vs meta though, the game is a world of difference when it's high performance deck and player vs the same thing.

They are. Sinful Spoils AND Poplar were released way ahead of schedule resulting in both the TCG and Master Duel being in similar metagames. Remember early Prisoner Princess release from a few months ago? She's one of the big fire metagame staples right now.
Konami has and will like continue to change the order of which cards are released, but expect to remain around a year behind OCG.
We got Snake Eyes early because the SHS meta got old so damn fast, and no other deck would have shaken things to this degree.

It's a solitaire combo deck. You can change up your lines, but whatever specific line you want you'll be doing. That said, being able to play through handtraps and having different lines depending on what you open will lead to games feeling different.

Chimera isn't Branded Support. Branded still plays best as Branded. Chimera works well with Branded Copium till it gets enough illusion support to be its own deck. Which happens with pic rel and the PHHI cards.
