The main reason I wanted a DS tunneling service (which is basically impossible due to extremely tight hardware latency standards) was to play the underground online. the main reason I wanted a sinnoh remake is so I could play the underground online, and the remake we got replaced all the secret bases, traps, and capture the flag with more Pokemon catching. They were so fricking faithful to the originals in everything else that they REFUSED to put the OBVIOUS quality changes from Platinum in the game, but they replaced the one thing I actually wanted. It's so awful.
i'm getting back into pokemon and just now finding out about all of this cool side stuff. i never did any of this shit as a kid
i'm doing emerald now and trying to collect all of the secret base items and get all trainer card stars is pure fun. can't wait to do the same in platinum
I feel bad for you. Gen 5's was tied to a now defunct Flash game. People havent revived it yet and probably never will. Youll never get to experience all of the side stuff...
Can't relate
The only friend I had that liked pokemon didn't actually have a DS, or any handheld, since her parents never got her much in the way of entertainment. I don't know if it's because they were living above their means or if it's just because they were a weird people. Maybe both.
Ironic you posted SBHJ because Game Freak's approach to Pokemon is precisely like Homestuck. Homestuck wasn't explicitly a good work but it was extremely unique in what it did and how it interacted with it's own base, just like with Pokemon the main experience for Homestuck was being there when it happened. Playing classic pokemon on an emulator after the fact doesn't come close to how it was and how the original experience felt for fans, just like how it originally felt for fans when new Homestuck pages would suddenly drop back in the days before Act 6.
And it mirrors how fan response would mold both franchises. Users in the MSPA forums used to vote and inject content directly into how the story would or could possibly unfold, create fan content around it that would eventually get absorbed by the people behind the webcomic, Pokemon fans would react positively or negatively to certain pokemon and in order that would give Game Freak permission to give these mons preferential treatment as fan-favorites, before the explicitly pre-fabricated and calculated shillmons of today designed specifically for fan reaction.

>Undertale >Mfw he makes Pokémon and 2hu music now
He learned all he could from his time with Hussie, before the guy went bonkers. He's pulling a "Homestuck but actually good", good for him. Sometimes life picks favorites.
Not gonna lie bro I know anything about Homestuck nor do I give a single shit about it, I just like Sweet Bro which I didn't even realize came from Homestuck until a few months ago
It blew my mind that they could produce something legitimately funny
I really wish I could find people to play gens 1-3 with in person but >lmao using other sites >/vp/ doesn't allow you to post /soc/ things >/soc/ is just degenerates
>only person in your entire class who played Pokemon >literally only "multiplayer" thing the few who owned a DS wanted to do was Pictochat >my DS couldn't even connect online either >couldn't even go to in-store events for cool shit
It hurt sometimes.
I always find funny when poketubers shits on the underground when it was clearly made for children and damn I enjoyed it a lot.
they will never understand the joy of setting traps and seeing all the different effects, spending hours mining spheres because it was cool, stealing flags.
i miss these kinds of features in newer pokemon games.
Just use https://pkmnclassic.net/gts/
The Underground only uses local wireless, there's no Wi-Fi option

is it not possible to "100%" gen 5 games without dream world stuff? i stopped playing around the release of bw and really don't know much about them
I think there's medals that's tied to the Dream World in B2W2
Yeah, its impossible to properly 100%. A LOT of item collection was locked into it, and that was how you were meant to get hidden abilities.
Just inject the medals and Dream World Pokemon into your game.
That's not properly completing it though.
I'm not saying thats NOT completing it, but I specified properly for a reason.
I was around for Gen 5 and got to experience the Dream World. While it was fun I guess, you're not missing anything.
From what I’ve heard they’re getting pretty close to doing so
HAHAHA
GET OUT FRICKING NORMOIDS
>he never experienced peak pokemon
you cant catch em all without friends
you didn't buy both versions of each generation, right?
I skipped gen 3 and 4, was playing nfs or xbox or PS2 games, kid.
And you call others normoids?
I played those without any friends
Why did they have to gut secret bases so hard from Hoenn? I guess I should be happy they’re even in the game in the first place.

homestuck is pretty funny in general
you're enjoying homestuck in the best way possible man
Gen 4 was the last generation with soul.
NOOO CHUDERINO YOU CAN'T MAKE A OLD WIFI THREAD, Y6OU HAVE TO USE THE POZZED WIFI THREAD WHICH IS EXCLUSIVELY ABOUT GEN 6+
Summer 2007 for me
No one on this board has ever used local multiplayer and you know it
One of the best memories of my childhood was playing Pokemon games with my cousin.
We even had this thing
I really wish I could find people to play gens 1-3 with in person but

Is there a way to get defunct Wifi events for past games?
I missed the Oak's Letter and Member Card for BDSP. Seriously frick Gamefreak for timegating these important events.
Yes. Use Wiimmfi for your DS. Also yeah, that's why people inject.

DS came out when I was 14 which is smack dab in the middle of "too old for that" territory. I never got to Pictochat or trade/battle or anything.
