It's basically an expansion pack for BOTW, I don't blame him. I had to force myself to beat the campaign. I'd already seen almost everything TOTK had to offer besides caves, like-likes, and getting flung into the air.

Twilight princess art direction is the weakest of the main series. It tried to recapture the grounded tone of the N64 games and failed, which in retrospective it had a realistic vibe because the n64 nintendo games used lots of low res real photography as texture work.
I wouldnt say it's more "stylized" than WW because i dont think that's possible. But it was a lot more stylized than Oot/MM. Like, conventionally cartoony stylized. And there would be nothing with that per se, but they dont do anything interesting with it tone-wise, and it definitely didnt have a ""dark"" tone or whatsoever in any way that matters.
ReDeads from WW were a lot scarier than anything in TP on the sole merit of knowing how to use contrast artistically. Same with the "scary" parts in Oot or MM.
In TP everything is just regular teen cartoon tome with a mild dash of LotR and it sorts of blends. Nothing stands out or disturbs. Much less if we talk about the plot.

The only thing sort of remarkable are the dungeons but they're ruined by being easy as frick and they tend to be gimmicky. Boss fights are often shit.
Hell, I was playing Dragon's Dogma 2 recently and I have mixed feelings on that game, but I realized that as rough-around-the-edges as the exploration and caves in that game are, they are far superior and more engaging than any Zelda game from the past twenty years. Same for combat.
I swear Zelda games are for children, Nintendo fans who have never played any other RPG/action-adventure game, or people who are dummies and clap at the screen when they figure out the easy as frick dungeon puzzles. I have done multiple playthroughs with self imposed challenges. Like 3-heart only, no inventory expansion, no shield, no map towers ETC. I've done similar challenges in every 3D zelda game to make them more exciting to replay. I've never collected all Koroks in either game. BotW also had the benefit of having Master Mode so I had 2 playthroughs minimum on each platform I played on. I got to the point where I had all 120 shrine locations in BotW memorized.

Everything in the game is a shrine and there is like 5 of them that are cool and that you will remember. Most of them are an extremely easy one room puzzle and that's it.

I played 132 hours of BotW and I did not even buy TikTok.
Looks like the same game and BotW was a 7/10. Or "mid" as young people say today.

I can respect that. I played 1,000 hours of BotW across Wii U, Switch, and Cemu. I only have about 300 in TotK. I love both these games. Easily some of the best open worlds ever made.
How do you have 1000 hours? Did you collect all the Korok seeds and then played Master mode or whatever it was called?
I have done multiple playthroughs with self imposed challenges. Like 3-heart only, no inventory expansion, no shield, no map towers ETC. I've done similar challenges in every 3D zelda game to make them more exciting to replay. I've never collected all Koroks in either game. BotW also had the benefit of having Master Mode so I had 2 playthroughs minimum on each platform I played on. I got to the point where I had all 120 shrine locations in BotW memorized.
how? i'm pushing 55h (cemu) and prior to that i didn't make it past the plateau because of the gay durability. how do you enjoy doing the same shit on repeat? the side missions are all the same "take a picture of this crap and return to me", there's a korok beneath every boulder and after the first 4 shrines they're all the same. the most interesting thing i've found since defeating the final divine beast was the shield surfing chick and some stone door which sadly just lead to yet-another-shrine
Everything in the game is a shrine and there is like 5 of them that are cool and that you will remember. Most of them are an extremely easy one room puzzle and that's it.
