Neutopia I and II for Turbografx 16
Very accurate clones of Zelda I
Here's the 2nd game
The music for these games is among the best on the system.
I think Neutopia 1 is better, 2 has a fricked up quirk with knockback. enemies fly in the opposite direction you're facing when they take damage, so if you fire a projectile at an enemy and then run in the opposite direction, you'll actually boost the enemy into you.
i like 2 better despite the annoying quirk
the magic wands are all fun to play with and it's a more connected open world with less restrictive movement
Ys IV Dawn of Ys still shits on both though, hell, i like that game more than link to the past. It's a masterpiece
I really should revisit and see it to the end. I just got annoyed stabbing things and backing off only to eat shit for doing that.
>Blood Omen
>Zelda Clone
Yeah just like how Doom is an Ultima 3 clone
Blood Omen definitely has some of the more notable beats of a Zelda game:
>Get upgrades to further access the world (several strength upgrades to push boulders, mist to cross bodies of water, wolf form to jump obstacles)
>Very exploration focused with lots of little caves to frick about in for more goodies and upgrades
>Dungeons that feature new items and then puzzles using those items to solve them
Tropes of literally every adventure game ever
Post some then. This is a thread about those kinds of games.
Literally every adventure game ever
Developers don't play every adventure game ever. They did play Zelda however
>t. gay-moron upset about Zelda’s influence
You lost.
Nta but he ain't wrong. Legacy of kain has more in common with a dungeons and dragons then it does legend of zelda. Zelda did not invent the overhead dungeon crawler, it originated in tabletop and early ASCII pc games all the way back in the 70s early 80s. Hell Zelda wasn't even the first digitize it on the NES, Hydlide did it half a decade earlier in 1984.
You're describing willynicians, not perseuslikes
want to guess how I know you never played blood omen?
The creators literally admit it, anon. Almost everything was either officially or obviously inofficially influenced by Ocarina
Anon... Blood Omen released like two years before Ocarina
BTFO
>lying on Ganker
For what purpose?
Blood Omen: November 15, 1996
Ocarina of Time: November 21, 1998
Definitely adventure on Atari... ohh I mean Zelda is an adventure clone that is.
I'd say the main features of Adventure is the limited inventory and free-roaming AI dragons. This is a thread about Hydelikes.
Any Ultima game.
You mean hyde-em-Xanadoes?
Zelda was a clone of Hydlide.
Alundra was awesome and one of the main reasons why Zelda OOT ended up feeling a little underwhelming. Also have fond memories of Soleil, the Quintet souls trilogy...
>Alundra was awesome and one of the main reasons why Zelda OOT ended up feeling a little underwhelming
kek
>Alundra was awesome and one of the main reasons why Zelda OOT ended up feeling a little underwhelming.
alundra is great but you are moronic.
That aside, I started Alundra recently and there's one thing I don't understand, maybe one of you can explain it.
I got the book of Elna, showed it to Septimus and he tells me I'm "of the Clan of Elna". How does he suddenly know that? Did he open the book and it said "the dude who brought me is an Elna"?
Or did I accidentally skip some text?
>Polish cover
>BBFC certificate
What's going on?
Dink Smallwood was pretty kino, shame it came out long after most people lost interest in getting a PC game similar to the genre.
>try a bunch of zelda games
>boring shit with the most annoying sound/music ever
Found it in the EB bargain bin, it was pretty good for the time
The series peaked with this game both in writing and gameplay.
