This made me look into Ship of Harkinian since it was another port. I've been using the randomizer, which might've been a bad idea because I don't know the game nearly as well as other Zeldas. Should I be able to open the Temple of Time door with just the Song of Time, without the three stones? I play the song and it makes a sound and nothing happens. Google acts like all I need is the song so either SOH is different or I'm moronic. And yes, I know this is a LADX thread, but I figured I'd check here.
You need any Ocarina and the Song of Time.
Maybe check out the wiki for the N64 version rando (google OOTR), it lists a couple progression things that may be obscure to players or straight up not apparent from playing the game normally.

probably because nowhere in the game does it tell you what those words are. Even if you deduce that they're enemy names, which is a stretch to just assume that, you still don't know which one is which
TIL, never thought about that. feel free to be filtered bros, I feel ya.
How hard would it be for Links Awakening DX, Ages, and seasons to be combined into one game.
I was thinking about that when I was smoking cigarettes last night. This release would be completely epic if all three games were selectable from the main menu.

on a technical level trivial. just implement the items, npcs, maps and add teleports between the maps. but like, that's still weeks and months of meticulous work recreating the game from basically scratch.
Not very, the OP game he could just make a new scene that loads similar to entering a dungeon, if anything he could have all the 2D zeldas in a single game.
Zelda 1 -> Beat Ganon -> Zelda 2 -> get raft -> Link's Awakening - > Beat dream demons and save wind fish -> Zelda 2 second continent - > Beat Dark Link -> Link to the Past -> Beat Ganon -> Seasons <--> Ages - > Beat Witch -> Seasons <--> Ages -> Beat Witch - > Beat Twinrova - > Beat Ganon
If you don't want Zelda 2 just swap Link's Awakening during the point in Zelda 1 you get the Raft to cross the sea
no, LA is after LttP and after Oracles also. The Triforce is physically in Hyrule Castle in Oracles and he departs Holodrum/Labrynna on a boat. The landmasses are possibly the same landmasses from AoL though.
I mean technically they could all be after AoL but it's not quite as clean

I personally like LttP-OoS-OoA-LA-LoZ-AoL as one continuous adventure. Basically when Link gets back from the other countries he returns to Hyrule already destroyed by Ganon, although that makes the scale of AoL's world a little strange from the perspective of Ganon's motivation to waste lower Hyrule and nothing to the north.
The second half where it's the war arc is the best part. So much fan service. I bet Disney was inspired by it, and so they made the What IF series on +
yep. its technically permanently misable but its only a treasure chest with a seashell and there's more than you need elsewhere. once you reach the max number of seashells required, the remaining treasure chests that had extra seashells now have 20 rupees. don't worry too much about it
would be cool to use that editor and make that. I have ideas for the giimick that would make you swoon
when I was a kid I drew up a map for Oracle of Tides. Basically you use the moon pearl to raise and lower the waters to uncover land paths or swim over reefs and stuff.
It sounds cool to me! my idea is since she's the oracle of Secrets, that you would tackle secrets in reverse, you rearrange the overworld in varied ways, and this causes the emergence of secrets. If you replace the water in an area to either dry up someplace, or to flood some place, it alters the landscape and creates new secrets to tackle. The secrets being more about what could be there/ or could be possible should you switch elements in the overworld around. It would be a version entirely about exploration and discovery.
The port really needs this feature the Switch version added: >The Sword, Shield, Power Bracelet, and Pegasus Boots are always equipped and have their own dedicated buttons.
I I have looked all over the map and I cannot find her. Am I supposed to go to the ruins first or something? the telephone hint guy is very unhelpful, says there's a key in the desert. WHY BOTHER
I actually meant the honeycomb. You give the bear the honeycomb and she gives you the pineapple and then tells you about the walrus and how you should take marin to her.
been a few years since I've played this game
It's honestly kinda sad you're experiencing this game for the first time with this fricked up fanmade way. do you really have no sense of integrity? You're destroying half the feel of the game
>this isn't my first time playing it >WHERE IS MARIN? I'VE PLAYED IT BEFORE BUT I TOTALLY FORGOT ONE OF MOST POIGNANT HIGHLIGHTS OF THE GAME WHICH IS THE DATE AT THE BEACH
I'm not a fricking incel coomer, moron. You want poignant? it's when the bosses, that are called nightmares btw, start pleading, nay, begging Link not to wake the windfish.
>it's when the bosses, that are called nightmares btw, start pleading, nay, begging Link not to wake the windfish.
did you pick this up from your favorite youtuber saying this in their video essay?

it starts in the catfish maw, when the nightmare dies he offhand says "you don't know what this island is" and from there they get more in your face with it.
I seriously hope you didn't download it, anons.
so there's a password on the zip and itch just assumes it's because it's secretly malware?
B&W is better because the screen warp glitch allows lots of sequence breaks and gameplay variety
There wasn't a password when I DL'd it last night.
I hope someone mods it so we can take Bow Wow out on doggo walks. That would fix this game completely.
patrician gameplay is to keep Bow Wow and the flying cuccoo and just fly over enemies while they get chomped up
there's a glitch to make it so that you don't have to return bow wow
I was referencing that glitch, I was saying that a mod for the remake would be neat to commemorate it.

God I fricking hate the modern internet.
To be fair, that's exactly how some scams work.

Stfu homosexual
There's already a level editor that's accessible tho, not sure how it's done but some anons did that
you make a shortcut for the executable, and add the parameter editor, then in-game you press ESC
not sure what all can be done in that though, a full mod seems like it would be out of the question.
I already tried that but doesnt seem to work for me.. i dont really get it.
Any pointers maybe if you could? pic rel
Just "editor", not "-editor"
wow THANK YOU so much anon lol.
Im used to putting the dash for some VR games, so i thought it had to be -editor.
Works now
You forgot to attach the giga chad image
Creative vision? like MM3D?
After Disney collapses I hope Nintendo (Eastern Disney) is next

of course you need the stones bro
Google is saying you only need the song because normally the only way to get the song is after getting all 3 stones.
You need any Ocarina and the Song of Time.

>Link's Awakening takes place inside Adventure of Link when he sails across the sea
I need this. Before the timeline splitting nonsense, we had a good working canon.
Seriously sleep demons that cursed Zelda attacking Link at his most vulnerable makes too much sense plus you never need to go back to first continent.

They did see to things being obscured from view when it makes sense.
how do we I get over there, it's too long for pegasus boots, the flying rooster isn't it?
yep. its technically permanently misable but its only a treasure chest with a seashell and there's more than you need elsewhere. once you reach the max number of seashells required, the remaining treasure chests that had extra seashells now have 20 rupees. don't worry too much about it
I didn't know that, I thought you needed all the shells in the game for the level 2 sword.
You need 20, there's 26 total. 3 are permanently missable
it's impossible to have a counter above 20 because like I said the spares disappear
but are there rewards for getting five, 10, and 15, turning them in before getting the sword? I feel like some rewards are missable
the "rewards" are just an extra free seashell if you go the house at with 5 and 10 seashells.
so like I said, 3 permanently missable, the one that requires the rooster here
and the two you only get if you go there with exactly 5 shells and 10 shells
I was also under this impression, that's pretty nifty to know though.
instead of porting a game. i wonder if they could create the farore oracle game that never was
would be cool to use that editor and make that. I have ideas for the giimick that would make you swoon

doesn't hold up but I was proud if it at the time

the source code comes with the game, so the engine is done
the Zelda Classic engine has been capable of making such a game for years
The port really needs this feature the Switch version added:
>The Sword, Shield, Power Bracelet, and Pegasus Boots are always equipped and have their own dedicated buttons.
It would be so much better on my right bumper, pushing Y and X is awkward for long jumps.
WHERE THE FRICK IS MARIN
REEEEEEE
I I have looked all over the map and I cannot find her. Am I supposed to go to the ruins first or something? the telephone hint guy is very unhelpful, says there's a key in the desert. WHY BOTHER
Have you talked to Tarin
You need the pineapple and to talk to the bear chef in animal village. after that she's at the beach
I don't think the pineapple factors into it.
I actually meant the honeycomb. You give the bear the honeycomb and she gives you the pineapple and then tells you about the walrus and how you should take marin to her.
been a few years since I've played this game
Yeah but I'm pretty sure the trading sequence doesn't factor into it at all. It just happens to be a point where a character is part of both quests.
frick you're right, I haven't been to the beach, why the frick is she there omg, thanks!
>Tarin
yeah he gets you the bees, and the chef gives you pineapple.
Really cool!
I hope they port Oracle of Seasons / Ages in a similar way in the future.
I ain't even mad anymore.
It's honestly kinda sad you're experiencing this game for the first time with this fricked up fanmade way. do you really have no sense of integrity? You're destroying half the feel of the game
this isn't my first time playing it, and stop being a fricking fool.

so now who doesn't remember the game, homosexual?
People are allowed to forget things, Anon.
>can see more than one screen at once
you didn't beat the game
This unironically. It's fricking Zelda, it's supposed to test you exploration and orientation skills. This gives it all away.
The game is sometimes moronicly obtuse howwas i suppose to know about the trading quest
The crane game is also annoying + moronic
zoom zoom
Imagine not going for the Yoshi and not talking to NPCs
