Clashbros I just learned Zeno Clash 3 came out
What should I think of it?
Zeno Clash 1 was Kino and a masterpiece of its own right
Zeno Clash 2 I remember being fun, not necessarily better nor worse than 1 but had more content. I remember it being more open, and that didn't necessarily make the fight progression system better compared to the first which was a more easily crafted experience as I recall
What about the new one?

tfw neo-Ganker too console casual for zeno clash
Its great, really great.
Only one character returns in a minor role, its a separate story.
I remember the main character and mother from zeno 1 and 2 ( was mother even in 2), but not much else
The returning character is one of the golems who serve as bosses in zeno clash 2. Because there is hundreds of years between the stories of ZC1/2 and this game, nobody else would be alive anyway (this game is earlier in time).
I remember the golem part
Going to replay 2 before I give 3 a try
I remember not feeling like replying the 2nd as much as I did the first tho
Well 2 is a lot bigger than 1, although i actually preferred 2 a lot, I didnt want to replay it either because i spent so long the first time around.
Theres really not much linking 1/2 and this new one anyway, I wouldn't recommend going and replaying, you wont gain much. In fact since this game is a prequel, it might make more sense to play this first anyway.
I genuinely wonder why they dropped the "zeno" part of the name.
Was part of their brand identity.
I wonder how many people don't realize this is zeno clash 3.
I don't get it either, Zeno Clash was as close to an indie darling cult classic as it was possible before indie games really started to take off, they could've definitely made a big deal out of bringing a dead series like that back.
As it stands barely anyone knows about the game, especially not people who didn't already know about the first two.
Aparently it was just to seperate it from the main games, so no new comers wouldn't think they needed to play 1 and 2 before this. It was a stupid decision because the amount of anons that came into the early Clash threads were shocked to learn it was a Zeno Clash game
I was thinking the same, if it´s a sequel dropping the zeno is gay
That is like saying you can't name witcher 3 because people will think they have to play 1 and 2 first. It was a bad move on them. I only realized it was a zeno clash sequel because the developers categorized as so in their steam page
Doing the side-missions/upgrades (especially for the night world) was not worth it in my opinion, but the game itself was really cool when you stick to the main path and don't get lost.

I haven't finished it. Combat seems fun, roughly similar to Zeno Clash but in third-person (you do have a super move where you go into first-person). However the other elements like the exploration feel half-baked.
I might drop if third person to be honest family
Plenty of 3rd person fighters, but 1st person was pretty unique
Again the combat still very much feels like Zeno Clash, the perspective doesn't change all that much honestly (I think they probably did it because of the platforming).
Did you homosexuals play The Eternal Cylinder? It was so good.
I'm done with puzzle games 4life I think, the witness will be my last one
I think the open world structure of zeno clash 2 was underdeveloped to the point it became a detriment to the game.
Is it a spiritual successor?
Call me when Zeno Clash 3 comes out.
>Call me when Zeno Clash 3 comes out.
This IS Zeno Clash 3. They were just moronic and didn't call it Zeno Clash 3.
Yeah, I don't get why did that. It's not Zeno Clash is a famous series. ZC3's title sounds like a freenium mobile game.

You and me both, anon. How did I never heard about this before? Thanks anon, going to buy it now.

Why the frick did they drop the consistency? I NEVER knew this came out
Kax-Teh was a fricking b***h. I thought he dindu nuffin in ZC2 but holy fricking shit what he did to Pseudo was straight-up evil and all the talk about muh restoring law and order in the second one becomes ironic when you realize the dumbshit is partly responsible for turning Zenozoik into the lawless shithole it is now.
same as you OP, I dig the original, didn't get along with 2.
tried the demo for Clash / 3 and didn't like it. I imagine they might've polished it up a bit, but the design in general seemed fricked
pic related is an old post on it
tx anon gentleman and scholar
I'll definitely try it out, even if I end up refunding it
Didn't even know there was a 3rd one. Looks cool and I dig the combat animations.

Clash is unironically the greatest game I've played in years. It's not flawless but it's easily an 8.5.
Gameplay is great despite the third-person shift. Combat's hard but fun, especially once you get the feel of it and some good armor. Going through Zenozoik makes you feel like you're on a huge adventure, the lack of handholding helps.
Graphics and art-direction are top-tier as always with ZC.
OST is surprisingly amazing
Plot is the usual "old battle hardened grump goes on adventures with a cute kid and they form a parent/child relationship" thing you've seen in tlou and nu-gow but the execution in Clash blows both out of the water. There's also a lot of really good and memorable moments with the mad dash across Zenozoik being my favorites, especially the first one.
Dialogue and voice acting is also extremely good, with Pseudo's VA being the best.
>that ending
I was genuinely amazed. I never expected a Zeno-Clash prequel would be *that* amazing, but man was I proven wrong.
