It's weird that necro doesn't have any poison skills, and rogue doesn't have that many traps. Rogue's bow skills are also almost all single target. There is definitely missing something in translation from diablo two to four. They either have to add the Amazon with group clear bow skills and more traps, or I don't know.

Storytelling is mediocre in both games. But at least in D2 it's functional to the gameplay. There is no moral message or dumb heroism involved. Everything is made to support the atmosphere, which definitely affected the player's experience. This is a game. Not a book.
The atmosphere is nowhere near as good as 2 and this isn't even up for debate.
Combat is a huge topic, they still have time to fix a lot of things about it. But hp orbs? 5 skills? it's already a downgrade.
D2 was extremely responsive, you clicked something and it just did the thing. No cooldowns, no casting time, no heavy animations, not a single thing that made the game feel awkward or uncomfortable.
About graphics. No, doesn't look better. It's just DX12 and snow. Because snow just looks good. The grim demonic, warm aesthethic of 2 wasn't even achieved in 3.
And the sound. Duh. More channels, more bitrate.
But the music? No way. It sounds like they were going for a more "painfully average cinematic approach". D2 was more of a passion project when it came to music.

I agree with you that Necro felt like it was lacking in abilities, especially after playing Barbarian. I also felt like the curses didn't feel very good to use when I tried them out, but I figured that might just have been because of the level being capped to 25.
I don't really care that much about Necro not having poison skills though as long as they have damage over time, which they do. I think decay style damage over time fits Necro more than poison. Decay or bleeding style DoT seems to be more appropriate, though I do think poison still kinda fits the theme, just not as much.

In about an hour of play you can try out all the skills most of which are lame, and know what you like and what seems to work best for you. There's no theory crafting, there's no great replayability. You've seen everything a class has to offer. Theres no reason to haqve multiple of the same class with different builds. Theres no reason to play through again trying a different set-up. These c**ts seem to think tis all about the LOOT, grind for the LOOT. Maybe thats part of it, but I always enjoy playting around with different skills and stuff too. In this it seems like, at some point you would find a good item that boosts lightning danage, so you would pick all the lightning skills, and thats it. Probably won't matter to most either, but theres no ability to make anything unusual like a melee sorc or a caster marauder

Even if you started using more "interesting" abilities like Hydra, where is the stuff to change the mechanics? 1 Legendary item that gives me 2x Hydra? That's it? Where are items or skill trees that proc Hydra off a crit? Change damage type of the Hydra?

I noticed Diablo 4 not only doesnt have music.
It also doesnt have any colour.
I mean, what the frick? Its like the whole game is in a shade of grey, for music i hear a flute, and for gameplay i get to left-click because everything else is on an eternal cooldown.
