I'm a zoomer and I prefer the PS1 and early PS3 even though I grew up with the PS2 (alongside a PS1 and PC). the thing about the 6th gen is that every genre it had was done either better on the 5th gen (JRPGs, platformers, collectathons) or 7th gen (open world, console FPS, hack n slash). it was the jack of all trades master of none.
but I agree with it ruining the industry. everything people accuse the 7th gen of started in the 6th gen (LE DARK AND MATUR games, brown and piss, etc.).
by early PS3 I meant early 7th gen in general. not the actual PS3 games as it had no games
The cancer started on the ps1 because It's related to ''realistic graphics''. But it only really gained full traction during the PS3, because that's when graphics got to a point where games could be sold to normies purely on that basis.

It's actually jaggier in 480p than 480i because it can't handle the same horizontal resolution or color depth. This is slightly one of the reasons people sometimes think it looks shittier than expected on HDTVs. Like I think the first and last PS2 game I tried on software BC PS3 was Gundam vs Zeta Gundam which happens to have 480p output and combined with shitty upscaling it looked like complete and absolute ass.

When i got my first PS2 back in 2002 I played it on a 13 inch crt tv, my guy literally no kid at the time cared or knew how to have high quality video from their console they just played vidya and had fun maybe you should try that sometime.

Ps2 had a great library. As far as a console I’d say the Xbox was better just because it was more powerful. 360 has the best library in my opinion but as a console it sucked for a long time until they finally ironed out the hardware issues.
