overpriced homosexual games as a service with 200$ controllers
kys
>t. no friends to rock with
t. was in diapers during the 2010s
It was casual mashan shit for normalgays.
t. 33 year old
You're a moron.
homosexual millenials thinking waggling a plastic guitar around means shit, while the generations before them and the generations after them learned to play actual instruments.
yeah but nowhere in your post did you mention video games so whats up with that
>video games and musical instruments are mutually exclusive
Hey alright moron
>Traditional grip
Guitar Hero was a terrible fad. They just ported the same game to basically every platform but charged full price for new song tracks. It only got popular in the first place because of Youtube people cheating on the PC version to make custom songs or hitting all the notes like a bot.
> It only got popular in the first place because of Youtube people cheating on the PC version to make custom songs
it is really weird when zoomers just straight up pretend that things happened
Nice revisionist history loser
They will never understand actually getting friends together and having fun
the game got popular because it was fun as frick to get some friends together, have drinks and play vidya with good tunes
The vast majority of young people in this generation have NEVER played a video game with their friends in-person. It's actually kinda crazy to think about.
does playing games like monster hunter portable 3rd on the PSP count? you had to in-person to link your PSPs together for multiplayer as it works like bluetooth back then iirc
like wii sports?
Basically, Guitar Hero and Rock Band were basically party games.
YouTube was just a shitty site no one used when guitar hero came out.
It was a neat novelty, not interested myself, but friends loved it. What murdered it was how many Activision churned out in such a short amount of time leading to fatigue.
so how is this any different than playing the actual drum? or at least those electric one
>so how is this any different than playing the actual drum?
The pads are a bit shit and you'd probably form a load of bad habits if you tried to learn just from the game, but you're still literally drumming, just on drum pads. Every single drummer I knew including myself fricking loved rock band because it didn't take much to be a huge show off (see also: drummer) on any songs you already knew.
i was in a real band growing up. i always looked down upon this shit.
This is so embarrassing for you. I played football, never "looked down on" people playing Madden, I loved Madden. You really need to feel cool, don't you?
>I played football, never "looked down on" people playing Madden, I loved Madden.
Imagine seeing this as anything but a self-own. You're a shit eater.
Relax, he's a musician. Musicians are natural c**ts.
lol madden is even more gay than rockband. yes, i was out playing shows, getting the dick sucked, and making connections and friends all over the united states while you and your boyfriends played madden and gave eachother spanks on the but at the high school football game
guitar hero let everyone pretend to be able to play gitah without actually knowing how to play gitah
it was evolved air guitar. air guitar is cooler, though, because you have to have CHARISMA to pull it off or you look like a fat dork
Guitar Hero was a lot of fun before they went full greed by releasing 50 versions a year and locking the good songs behind paid downloads. If it ever makes a comeback I'm sure it will be even worse.
>nostalgiaizing 2009
Kys kys kys kys kys kys. You are no better than the zommers you hate you fat ugly "muh good old days" slop human.
its not "muh good old days", it's remembering an when a lot of people could earnestly enjoy a video game related cultural phenomena. It's like when the Wii first came out and every single family had Wii Sports nights. Or when Pokemon Go came out and you could spot dozens of other college students just roaming around the town. These are fun novel experiences.
The fact back in 2009 i could say Black person without amerimutts wanting to send me to jail makes it better than all the garbage Black person worshipping generation we have today
Zoomers are the most moronic generation that has ever existed
Rock band 2 was the peak for me. I’d do anything to go back to 2009 and play with all those dlc songs with my Xbox live British gf. Those games were probably the easiest way to find girls on Xbox live back in the day.
And millennials will never understand the joy of learning an instrument, forming a band with friends and renting a basement to practice and frick around.
Instead they sperged with plastic toys like manchilds.
Guitar hero II and 3 were the shit then it got lame. Didn't play enough Rock band to comment on it other than I had fun playing it at friends a few times.
God bless Harmonix. Down with Activision. Harmonix is still releasing DLC for RB4 to this day. Also you can use your old guitar to play Clone Hero (and skin it like Rock Band).
>tfw family was too poor too afford any of this shit
>only had ps1, couldnt afford a ps2, missed out on lots of good shit from that era
>fast forward to today
>have more money than i know what to do with
The guitar hero game was cool for the first game or two. Then somewhere around 3 all the ultra lame try hards went front and center and the entire experience became a pissing contest between the sweatiest fricks. After that no one wanted anything to do with the game as it was lame as frick
sounds like you got filtered by Through the Fire and Flames.
3 was the first game after Harmonix sold it to Activision which is why it was shit from then on. The emphasis went from well-charted songs with accurate hit windows to over-charted garbage with huge, easy hit windows; in other words, it was casualized and became more about "hitting lots of notes in cool metal songs" than actually appreciating and enjoying music. People who truly had a love of music switched to Rock Band after GH 2/Rocks the 80s.
