The game looks good but for me it has the same issue I had with Star Rail and the later patches in Genshin: I don't really like most of the characters. Billy unfortunately is a disposable free starter and Miyabi will get the Kafka treatment and be released after I get bored of the game.
I play gacha games if they have decent gameplay. And my kind of decent has very low standards. I enjoy playing FGO for example and Granblue. Not constantly but enough. Oh and Nikke.

PGR's men can be hit or miss but they've been doing a lot better with them recently to make them feel cool. The last male patch before Watanabe was a new brawler character with robotic arm that has more emphasis on blocking and counters unlike the rest of the cast. I wouldn't mind them having more than only two male patches a year if they were all as interesting

Clearing levels under the recommended power, special interceptions and going for higher scores in the co-op solo and union raids are when you would actually play it. Even then it's mostly just properly timing skills most of the time. The story and characters are what's keeping me around more. Mihoyo and Snowbreak stories were whatever and I didn't find myself giving a shit about any of the characters in the beginning. They also had way too many things to do right off the bat which made them feel overwhelming and like i was wasting time if I wasn't spending all day playing them.

The character designs was one of my main issues with the game at launch and they've gradually gotten a lot better about it. Compare what a skin looked like at launch vs now. Granted the launch one is a free unlock, but still. They got the message that people wanted sexier designs, especially for skins.

Recent Nikke stuff just put me off. The anniversary was a major disappointment and the recent story has been a floundering mess without even a single interesting or entertaining event story. Plus Nikke's gameplay modes are fricking awful. Some of the worst daily systems and rotating events I've experienced in a gacha that I never enjoy. Frick SR, frick UR and frick coop. Nothing in Nikke is fun so once you reach the end of the story there's literally nothing left. I dropped it a couple weeks ago and don't even plan on returning.
The part that bothers me is the way there is no level cap, even whales can't catch up to older players unless they dump massive chunks of change into buying dust for their synchro device.

They could've legit have a Nier: Automata like open world gacha game but instead tried to re-do the popular game because it's popular forgetting that no one will really have a reason to play their game. Mauxir's 5* was last month's limited character so you'll only have a chance of getting her 4* right now. I haven't used her much but I know some people like to use her as a support for dps that do good aoe. She also has potential as a main dps but that requires some investment and is kind of niche. The best part of her imo is the easy pantsu when she's running.

All the other womanlets are going to be best suited to support roles. Acacia's tooltips make her out to be an on field dps but her support skill has a slow on it with is the only kind of cc that no enemy is immune to so people use her to proc support gear set bonuses.
Granted, this is all in regards to endgame situations. You can clear story stuff with any character and feel strong so long as you invest a little into them for later story missions.

There's a leader board for the weekly boss mode but all you get out of it is a little extra currency and a special profile frame for 1st and 2nd ranking. If all you want to do is the story and clear your chores to get pull currency, you can do that perfectly fine without having to go full tryhard and/or whale. You won't even have to maintain characters at all to keep doing story mission after a certain point since the chapters added post launch give you trial characters to use.

Same rates but 50/50 pity. If you lose the 50/50, the next one is guaranteed to be what you want. The nice thing is progress toward pity carries over across patches on banners that use the same currency.

Are you asking if you should only use tickets on the beginner banner and save your gems? iirc the gem = ticket cost is discounted on the beginner one so I would use gems on that one and save any tickets you get for the standard banner after the beginner expires.
Well gacha experience has it that the tickets themselves are given out occasionally so spending gems for standard tickets is pointless cause you'll get the tickets themselves eventually and not need to waste your gems that can be spent on limited characters.

Not really. The gacha is the same as the character banner except pity is 20 less pulls.
Sorta kinda. You get at least 20 free limited character pulls across the event shop, the regular shop, and the daily login. You don't get any free gibs for the limited weapon though.

Once you unlock the personal files I believe is what's called, you can farm 2 shards of a 5 star per day. You can do this for 2 5 stars a day as well.

Speaking of fritia, if you do try snowbreak and get fritia-hush from the beginner banner, I strongly suggest you reroll. She is easily the worst 5* character.
The beta is fun and I like it. But I haven't logged in because honestly moving around the hub is clunky and I don't care for the dungeon crawling aspect. It kind of confused me how they have such strong animation and a decent cast but they hide it in small little encounters and the rest you're just looking at TV screens. Also the game is easy as frick. Hollow Zero 5k Extreme was also super fricking easy. I know a lot of players mentioned how it provided a challenge but anyone taking more than 3 attempts on that boss have 0 experience in any action games beyond easy/normal mode. Also the censorship is pretty shit but that's never enough to push me off of a game. For this game it's the icing on the shit cake to avoid it.

It's pretty fun for a while but I wouldn't get too invested in it. It kind of loses it's steam after a while. Good for a bit of fun but of the 3 gacha I currently play it's my least favourite.
It's basically an idle game since there's no stamina and eventually you'll hit a wall (not the 160 wall everyone talks about in this case) where you can't progress no matter what and just have to wait for resources to build up for some upgrades.

Snowbreak is just the love child between PGR and Genshin that decided to be a shooter.
Snowbreak is just honkai 3rd but as a TPS.
I picked up snowbreak after trying PGR and the structure is very similar. They even changed the boss weekly to be more like pain cage.
PGR itself took a frick ton of systems from 3rd too. Hell, PGR being a direct competitor is one of the reasons 3rd started to be slightly more generous years ago. Only slightly though, as PGR suffered a bunch of scandals in it's early days and fell off revenuewise.
I barely remember what I played of honkey when I tried it cause I was overwhelmed with all the dailies.

You might be right. Lesser gachas often seem to leech from ZZZ threads, like it happened to the general on /vg/. While it wasn't dead yet.
Anyway, I find ZZZ to be pretty fun. Both the combat and the dungeon crawling. They did a REALLY good effort at making the side missions diverse, despite them being literally just tile-based roguelike crawlers.
The animations are a treat too, in this modern day of low effort motion capture.

There's superarmor or even invincibility on the special attacks and EX specials, but heavy enemy hits send your characters flying. You can do a quick recovery by swapping in the next character with support assist if that happens. Soukaku is unique in a way that her alt special lets you trigger a support assist without getting hit.
