but that didn't stop him from filling it with dmc and other capcom games references, or putting w101 stuff in 2. in fact the third one only had phantom as a reference for dmc as far as i remember, but it was filled with more pop culture stuff

3 had some standout scenes but was much less impressive and bombastic on your first run

bayo 1 definitely had the best ending sequence of all of them, 2 was equal/better for the most part though imo, balder fights were beautiful and so were the "arcade" stages
You're missing Bayonetta 0's Faes. That said, it's all about the enemy aesthetics/variety. I'd like to see Bayo go against a new pantheon of holy beings, like they did with the Faes. It could be Egyptian gods, it could be Yokai, it could even be Mayan/Aztec/Inca stuff for all I care as long as the aesthetic is cool and the variety is there.
There aren't necessarily any new pantheons at all, fairies fit in the setting rather well, because nature spirits are already a part of their reality by, haha, nature. Plus witchery connections.
Not really if you go with Viola as the new protagonist. I know some people would hate that but I'm not really against using her if her attitude reflects more maturity in the future. Also, by your logic 2 is less impactful than 1, since in 1 you actually kill "God". However 2 works because it leans into Bayo's past, her own personal stakes in the whole thing via Jeanne, and her dad. Lean on character stuff rather than the actual impact of the threat and you're ok, I believe.

Speak for yourself. I love her spunkiness and adore that we got slapstick humor on a woman in [current year]. Also, game got patched and made her parry less tedious so that's something gameplay-wise.

These games are a little too fast for me. I've been practicing Bayo 1 a lot and can occasionally get to verse 4 of angel slayer if I abuse taunt healing and rodin.
the game can glitch out during witch time and permanently speed up everything till you turn it off, especially bayo herself who can get even more faster if you keep activating witch time while the bug is in effect

I just got into Bayonetta Origins and it's pretty good. It was a bit slow to start but there's not as much bs as other Platinum games I've played. No QTEs or minigames. Controlling two characters works surprisingly well.
There's never going to be a 4th Bayo. It's pretty obvious with 3 they didn't want to make it. They just shit it out because they announced it and fans were grilling them for it. I don't even think Platinum games is going to be around in another 5 years.
Didn't the original creator Bayonetta say he had plans for like a TEN game series? I mean, he isn't with Platinum anymore, so I don't know what Platinum will do with the IP now aside from run it into the ground. It won't be the original creator's vision for the series.
