I recall DF showing in their gameplay that it was completely awful. I typically don't use performance modes because something is always broken or it can never keep the 60 FPS at all with constant drops that are so noticeable. Happened just recently in Hogwarts Legacy with the game regularly dropping to 30ish FPS so I just used the Quality + Raytracing mode since it caps it to 30 and never drops.

The whole theme of Jedi Survivor is finding your own way that works for you. Late republic Jedi order fell because it had become too rigid and big, and the Sith is hobbled too much by promoting self-interest to ever truly flourish. Cal chooses the middle more practical path. I think it's neat and fitting that his master was a form VI practitioner and that it's reflected in Cal's rudimentary understanding of other lightsaber styles and his practical nature, because that lightsaber style is like MMA in the sense that it's a new combat form that takes what works from the other styles and fills the gaps with the force. Much like Form VI, Cal takes the teachings from the Jedi Order he likes, discards those that don't work, and turns to the force for guidance only when he's in dire need.
I don't understand some of the criticism for Survivor's story. Dagan isn't that great of a villain but he isn't the true antagonist. What it does IMO it does very well. You see a different kind of downfall for a Jedi. Bode doesn't just snap like a latent psychopath, hes trapped in a downward spiral and he cannot escape it. So he's got this constant pressure and agonizing fear that is twisting him. I actually liked that he never even had his own saber. He himself doesn't even realize how much he's lost the plot when he starts using Dagan's which was already red. He didn't have some singular moment of rage that broke him, he languished for years. He doesn't even want to be the way that he is, his facade with Cal prior to the reveal was his real personality when he's not desperately trying to survive.
It's because sephiroth and thanos do ultimately consume half the story even though they're not very interesting and bode is done way better. Also, total turgle extermination immediately.
IIRC in the old canon, Jacen Solo and Tenel Ka (half-Nightsister) have a kid and Jacen has a vision of the future where she's basically a force god who conquers the galaxy.

How powerful would a Jedi/Nightsister combo child be?
If Disney didn't have their head up their dumb moronic ass they'd see Cal's trilogy as a sort of Paradise Lost situation and they'd set up the eventual big bad against a New Jedi Order in the distant future as Cal in the distant future who was started his own Temple.
If I remember right Cal is only like a decade older than Luke, so If he appears again he'd about as old as Dooku was, which wouldn't work unless they recast the actor because he's barely in his late 20's, I think. Maybe night-sister magic could keep him youthful, I dunno. Seeing Cal of all people starting his own necromonger Jedi empire to reclaim the galaxy would be pretty out of character unless whatever he goes through in the third game absolutely warps him.

cos devs think "uhhhhh what if....new players? must start low and build up...again". Even good devs fall for it sometimes.
I mean you just keep the core abilities to be fair. Most of your upgrades do get reset, they just don't explain it so it plays exactly the same even on NG+.

Because a lot of games make you so powerful by the end that there's really no room to make the character stronger. In Fallen Order, Cal is actually pretty weak even by the end of the game with everything maxed out (which is why you run from Vader instead of steamrollering him Force Unleashed style), so there's room to build on top of that.
Aside from it's technical issues Survivor is legitimately an amazing game. It's a very fun game.
I had a number of issues with Fallen Order even though I enjoyed the overall story and cast, and Survivor addressed or at least improved on every one of them. My mulleted mustachioed Cal and his saber/blaster combo is much more agreeable for me.
Many series seem to falter at the third entry for some reason, in video games and other media, but I hope they nail the conclusion for once.

They posted job listings for a new star wars game a few weeks ago and the VAs have already confirmed there's another one coming. The layoffs for the canceled Mandalorian project came with confirmation the core Respawn team for the Jedi game and the Xcom star wars game are still going.

Played the first one on homiestation 4 and I quite enjoyed it, frame rate was a fricking pile of dog shit but still, I was engaged enough to finish it.
Now, with a israelitebox X and Got pass I get to try the second one... I've liked it so far, the main planet whatever the fricking name is, is quite diverse with slop that is not 1 single biome only. Combat is not that bad either, and you can get to create your own Jedi chuck Norris. Also, the tin cans were a quite pleasant surprise.

No, but it ain't that bad either
It drops to 45fps on a 3000$ PC when in open areas, and every movement animation has weird frame issues baked in that makes the game feel like it's stuttering even when it isn't.
Werks on my machine and it's probably better than it was but my bet is it's still a gamble. At launch, if your computer was more than a few years old there was no guarantee it would even start. Completely untested on legacy hardware.
It ran smoothly on day 1 for me because I bought a 4070TI before the game released. Lmao

Best part is that it takes like 10 minutes after she shows up in Survivor before Cal and Merrin is cuddling in a cave to wait out a sandstorm (darude). They didn't wanna wait a minute longer to tell you she's 100% Calsexual.
I've got a feeling they always wanted to do Cal/Merrin but something scared them away from doing it in the first game. Maybe there were cuts, or maybe they weren't sure if it would be a success, but I feel like they should have established her as his girlfriend from the first one. Then we wouldn't have that gay Sam Maggs comic and it wouldn't feel so sudden in the second game.
Cuts or not, the first game still makes it very obvious. But if there was more, yeah, I would've liked that a lot.
It was just too early in the first game, they knew they intended to do several games, no need to rush a romance.
Maybe, but they managed to give Cere the whole master-apprentice relationship with him, and Greez the old weird-drunk-moronic-but-beloved-pilot-dad relationship. Merrin just got put into the game too late. The game itself could have done with another planet or two to explore with more plot sprinkled in, and where you could make more use of Merrin. She just kind of tags along at the end to make your ship go invisible then pulls you out of the water.

No, I got gutted by a Purge Trooper and a Probe Droid. Forgot that Probe Droids explode when you LT + X them. It's just that JGM is how the game needs to be played otherwise you have parry times a mile long and take like six hits to down. From the looks of it Survivor is the same because the damage values and parry times seem identical in Survivor.

Blaster stance is where it's at, especially once you learn you can juggle shots between thrusts and it can even boost damage.
I like playing on GM instead of JGM because you get more Force use. A Jedi game should let you use the Force. Simple as.
