its helpful to work with more smaller meals instead of fewer big meals and swapping things you normally eat out for higher kcal equivalents - sweet potatoes, peas, lentils, carrots in place of other veggies, keeping the skin on chicken or just mostly eating red meat, or searching for full fat yogurt (actually kinda rare for some reason) for instance. healthy sleep schedule and regular physical exercise will keep your appetite high as well.

At 250lbs I lstarted fasting, one day nothing except water, one day 2k-2.2k calories depending on what day it was.
But even still I was only sloooowly losing weight after doing this for over 10 months straight. After getting a test from my doctor confirming my thyroid being the problem I tried fasting again after getting medication and lost so much weight so fucking fast.
So if your thyroid isn't fucked up just fast, do 12 hours, then 16, then 24 to build up your tolerance if you can't handle doing 24+ hours right away, you body gets used to it pretty quickly
Well 24 ends up becoming 24 hours + whatever hours you sleep because you don't want to start eating at the evening if you've been up since monring/noon.
Also forgot to mention, don't be afraid of fasting, just drink water until whatever hunger pang you have is gone.

Then I'll just probably go for daily morning walks like I used to. It's quite comfy listening to a good radio show or a podcast while going. That's what happened to me and when it did; it fucking felt absolutely terrible.
For me what I was doing was working quite well both in mind and body. I was literally doing the things you described. And I plan on doing those things again ASAP. A little bit differently in detail but in essence the same.

Now I'm slowly getting more and more into lifting/exercise and starting beefing up my legs starting last week.

I've lost about 15kgs (or 33 lbs) of pure fat. I'm still roughly at the same amount of muscle as when I started. How am I doing? It takes *so* long to lose fat like this. Given that I take time off because of work-related activities.
