i hate my fricking keyboard so much.
>modern
the diagnosis chapters in trauma team are exactly that
you even play as some bizarre fusion of japanese House and Spike Spiegel
how many chapters is that?
like 4 or 5 but they are decently long
It's a good game game anyway outside of the endoscopy chapters, if you like medical dramas and can handle a dose of anime chances are you will love the game
>taub
>13
>but no suicide jeet
How do i beat the Amber hallucination boss fight?
use 13, Foreman, and Chase
make sure to cleanse the lupus debuff before it stacks up too high
stock up on Vicodin from the previous levels
>inb4 you lose all the Vicodin next chapter so sell it
lmao good luck without any item buffs, fights overtuned to shit without it
Check yourself into rehab for 7 weeks and get cucked by a german expat
i wish, but the problem is that basically any medical adventure game would require you to either have or learn in the game actual medical knowledge which is not obviously common knowledge nor fun to read about (read: medical school is hard and long)
that's why murder mysteries and sherlock holmes-style detective works are the favorite setup for deductive-reasoning based mystery-solving adventure games
otherwise its just like a medical-'themed' murder mystery game essentially where you end up solving the case not with actual medical knowledge
I think it could work if you start the game as a student. Class could have you read 4 different diseases, which have similar symptoms, then the next case is you figuring out which disease it is with a couple red herrings leading you off.
House is literally an homage to Holmes so many of the problems solved are more like logical puzzles or deductions based on environment and/or the people around the patient.
You could make a game where you are tasked to find out what the symptoms mean based on a short list (which as a concept is almost always present in the show).
He is an homage to Holmes, but I'm rewatching the entire series right now, and his epiphanies are still 100% impossible for the average gamer (or doctor) to come up with. He'll quote the grinch movie, realize that some disease he diagnosed doesn't affect the large blood vessels and then pull out some autoimmune diagnosis that only 1/15.000 people gets. You can't do that stuff by logic alone.
nta, but that makese sense, sort of. he doesnt merely pull it out of his ass as he takes an inoccuus phrase, simily or metaphor that somehow fits. Example "When is a bear not a bear, its a dog." is how he deduced the dwarf wasnt a dwarf, she just didnt have a growth hormone that made her look like her dwarf mother i would 100% frick.
I think you could include that in game with npcs dropping very vauge dialogue, but a case shouldnt rely completely on you using it. Would be a cool expirence if you happen to pick up on it though.
That's true, but you could make it kinda multiple-choicy.
You can have a set of plausible diagnoses and get to explore possible explanations for them.
Via interactions with other people or investigatory work you can cross off some items but the last leap comes from some sort of thematic understanding of the case which gives you the ultimate answer.
>this anon cant manifest BRAIN BLASTS just from a random quote
ngmi, just work at mcdonald dude
>House walks down the corridor
>Wilson shows up
>"HOUSE WHY DID YOU BURN DOWN MY APARTMENT?"
>ummm Wilson, I thought you said you wanted your place to look warmer?
>"HOUSE YOU ARE SUCH A FRICKING DICK!"
>House stops walking, staring at nothing, his eyes widening
>House wanders back to the office
>"THE PATIENT HAS DICKFRICKING SYNDROME! PUT HIM ON 1,000mg of Purofasocyndolisolene!"
>House M.D. was 38 years ago
frick
2012 was 52 years ago
greatest television show of all time, if you pretend that season 6 and beyond doesn't exist.
which is valid, because it's episodic and doesn't have, or need a plot, so I don't need to consider those seasons a part of house. kys anyone who disagrees.
Chernobyl is a close second, but it lacks the comedy of house, and the greatest television character of all time. probably has stronger themes tho, and by that, I mean it has only 1 theme and like 6 episodes or something, so not that hard to frick up.
>if you pretend that season 6 and beyond doesn't exist.
Why?
Season 8 was rushed, but Season 6 and 7 were fun. Hell, Season 6 gave us Robert "TND" Chase
Season 6 you can make a case for but the majority of 7 was Cuddy dating plotlines and it was awful
bio inc redemption is pretty cool
>mouse bites
only the real ones think of this mfer whenever they see the mention of mouse anywhere
you guys don't even have any idea how many good house screenshots I could drop in this thread, now that I just realized how many I have, scrolling through to find this mouse.
probably my most screenshotted show of all time.
house is kino. watched it 3 times in its entirety back in the day
This skips the part where his first guess was wrong and the patient almost dies so he obsesses over it and then solves everything.
newbie
>t. has never watched House
>t. newbie that doesn't know the gif is from og /b/
>it's from /b/ that means it can't miss anything essential
Are you genuinely brain damaged?
this anon is vexed
>realizes he's being a complete idiot with no actual argument
>instead of admitting defeat, resorts to "LOL U MAD"
Genuinely brain damaged.
>This skips the part where his first guess was wrong
Not enough people realize how important it is for House to be wrong at first. It is literally a theme that underpins his entire character throughout the seasons if you pay attention enough. I mean, it's not that deep, but in the context of his entire character, it's pretty important, because of how much shit people constantly throw at house for being...you know. house.
i mean he's like wrong for 90% of the episode, its really hard to miss that
hes 90% wrong the entire episode, but hes 10% right 10 times.
I too am in this thread.
olivia wilde was smoking in that show
>LUPUS???
>IS IT LUPUS???!
I tried to watch House but I'm too hypochondriac for it
What you seek is called braincrack.
Best craincrack media:
>Liar Game (manga)
>Ace Attorney, especially AAI2 (game)
>999/VLR/ZTD (game)
>Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle (book)
>Kaiji (manga)
>One Outs (manga)
Once you are done with these you will never find more braincrack. And that's okay. Maybe one day there will be a new one.
>999
VLR and ZTD are dogshit compared to 999
I disagree.
homosexual
What did you just say?
DID YOU KNOW THIS IS ACTUALLY A WHAT IF SHERLOCK HOLMES WAS A DOCTOR?
>Are there any modern games made where ypu have to use deductive reasoning
This is what I expected Danganronpa to be when I first tried it.
What a disappointment that was.
>Watching post season 3 house
i dont care
luv gregory
simple as
season 4 was great, 5 was boring but lead to some schizo kino
everything after the first episode of 6 was a mixed bag
My favorite season was the one right after his first teams leaves
>gatchatroon has a bad opinion
isn't it dilation time right about now?
I pretend House going to the insane asylum is the ending.
it was lupus that one time tho
favourite episode? i like the ones where they have a cool gimmick, like that locked-in syndrome one and the guy with the gun
Either the one with the gunman taking House hostage, or the entire schizo Kino that is the end of season 5. Honorable mention to that one episode where House does Karaoke with Foreman and Chase
i actually like the one with the rape victim
also the munchausen one
The episode where Chase House and Wilson go speed dating, followed by House discovering Wilson was in a porno
OP CAN'T INB4 homosexual
it's not lupus :^)phkhpg
>its the season where everyone has bangs because Zooey Deschanel got famous
mid 00s were an odd time but fricking kino.
I can't stop playing ace attorney and I'm already at the third game and I don't know what I'll play to fill the gap.
OP cannot inb4, you fricking moron. NIce thread butthole.
thanks
NO PROBLEM
likening ace Attorney to house, has finally convinced me to actually play it.
>HOUSE YOU FORGOT TO DO YOUR CLINIC HOURS AGAIN
How do you respond without sounding mad?
Daily reminder that if you summoned Wilson to beat pic related then YDBTG
all he needs is a haircut and beard and he'd look fine.
I killed her.
Real life.
I have a super rare neuromuscular disease that only 1 in 250.000 people have. Been through dozens and dozens of specialists, no one ever managed to diagnose me.
When I was 22 I diagnosed myself through Wikipedia. Even got the DNA exam needed to confirm it, down to the exact genes the doctors had to check. They did the exam and confirmed it.
This made me realize that doctors are fricking stupid dumbasses. If a 22yo with zero medical background can diagnose his rare disease through wikipedia you are a failure for spending 50 years studying neuromuscular diseases and still being unable to do it
Yeah you learn how incompetent doctors are the moment you have anyting that isn't trivial to diagnose.
I don't think doctors are stupid, but being constantly overworked and only taking 5 minutes per patient while being completely distant to what problems the patient is actually describing will make them ineffective no matter on how knowledgeable they might actually be
Some of them are quite stupid. I had a doctor tell me that fasting is dangerous because it makes my brain eat itself.
The brain does eat itself while fasting, but it also has a lot of redundancies. Diagnosis is really just a guessing game on the doctor's end, and the patient is generally going to have more information to work with than the doctor.
>The brain does eat itself while fasting
No it does not unless you are being very dishonest and misleading
what is the point of fasting?
I find it easier to regulate my caloric intake by not eating. If I try to have 5 meals per day but eat little it is like torturing myself or testing my discipline pointlessly.
