FRICK QUADRUPEDS.
FRICK TANKS.
FRICK FROG LEGS.
BIPED 4 LIFE.
why did they remove hover legs?
they should add MORE stuff to a sequel, not less
Because quads can now hover
Because hover legs were only added to fill in the gap left when quadrupeds turned into walkers and didn't just slide across the ground.
They were removed in AC4 onwards because ground boosting doesn't consume energy, so for all intents and purposes all types became hover legs.
Hover legs were for homosexuals and made a lot of shitty missions that almost require hover legs as it’s only gimmick. Also it fricked with the balance of quad legs as a fast grounded leg. Hover leg enjoyers deserve to die and I hope they burn in hell
>equip hovers in LR
>enter mission
>MT fires small caliber sidearm
>lower body explodes
They were fricking dogshit. Rest in piss, hover legs.
TRIPOD legs when
trike legs could be cool
Someone post the garage music
This is the sole deciding factor in whether or not I buy the game
Only available in shit leaked quality
The frick? It goes so hard.
Naisu
This was debunked, this OST is from the comic con event. The actual garage theme is a lot more understated, like 4A’s. What I’ve heard of it is nice tho.
I plan to surely win thanks to my superior speed.
>Sword
>Machine gun
>Frickoff missiles
Simple as
Biped or tank. Melee build if I can.
Quad
The largest, spammiest missile launchers
Dual chainguns or zooks, or maybe grenade launchers
Zero laser blade, zero melee bullshit
Explosives and dakka only
I will use tank since I can fit more wives on it
I'll use whatever attachment looks the most like a penis.
I want a Dolores build.
Nice wiener.
I want my AC to be a spider tank, shame there's no weapon arms though.
>no weapon arms
This confirmed? Hopefully they unlock in later chapters
That sucks. Not that I ever used them that much but there's not really any reason to take them out.
I suppose, they also said something about how there will be something like 300+ parts in total for the game in some other interview. Never played an AC game before but is that a lot?
It's normal for a first game.
Usually there's Armored Core #, and then a follow-up in Armored Core #: Subtitle that adds a shitton of sidegrades and new parts.
This time they're skipping straight to the subtitle, likely because they can't commit full resources to making two AC games when there's still a mountain of cash to sift through from Elden Ring.
I expect if they're gonna make another 6th gen game they'll just do it as a DLC expansion for Fires of Rubicon. Probably titled Armored Core 6: New Subtitle
Armored core 6: ice of bismuthmeet
I doubt we'll get multiple games per gen ever again honestly. The industry has changed with rising dev costs plus dev time. In its first ten years it existed, FromSoft made 27 games. In its next ten years they made over 30. In the past ten years they've made 8 games and AC6 will be the 9th.
>no weapon arms
>no weapon arms
I didn’t really use them outside of 4A but it sucks for people who like them. I‘m not all that broken up about it. I’ve seen a lot of people not like how 3v3 is described but I don’t see the problem? If anything it’s more mechs to shoot at and the team that shoots the most mechs wins. Yeah it would be cool to see VD’s game modes make a comeback but that was already such an extreme outlier and that game didn’t perform nearly like it should have so I can understand why Fromsoft wouldn’t dedicate resources to game modes people barely engage with. The fact we’re getting more than just regular 1v1 arena is already kind of a miracle.
>3v3 will play like score-based respawn deathmatch
Welp there goes my hype for this game. If there's no custom lobbies that change this I'm going to be so mad. Should have never let this Sekiro homosexual in charge of the series.
>weapon arms gone
NO.
I WAS GONNA REVIVE THE G-CRAWLER FROM AC3

Finally, took normies this long to realize how good it was?
Jesus how sad.
I'm surprised reviewers were full of shit even back then. I liked 2nd gen but lmao @ 2 scoring higher than Silent Line or Last Raven.
Frick legs, pick your weapons
Since the three damage system is back and impact is as important as damage what ya gonna do?
I'm planning grenade cannon, linear rifle/sniper rifle (maybe burst rifle but they seem kinda shit), plasma missiles, and laser rifle. Going to try and stick it on a reverse joint but will probably be too heavy. The idea is to do consistent damage with the plasma AOE/break shields, stun with the grenade and rifle, and then capitalize on damage with the rifle, laser rifle, and grenade cannon. As for extension, definitely the knock off primal armor, unless it's shit then frick extensions
>weight
>less than 10 tons
LMAO.
Daily reminder: Armored Cores would get absolutely annihilated by a Metal Babby. A metal babby might as well be an Annihilator compared to cores.
>b-but muh speed!
>*shoots you with homing Streak SRMs and hitscan lasers*
LMAO
Ok.
Are you doing this to make Mechwarrior fans look like gigantic morons? Because it's working and I honestly believe all 4 of you have brain damage.
No more brother wars. Battletech goo, Armored Core good
Never forget the brothers we lost
Starsiege, Heavy Gear, Zone of the Enders, and Front Mission
>a western design on the left
>japanese designs on the right
?????????????????????????????????
>thatsthejoke.m4a
I uh. . .
All on the right are japanese designers, all on the left are American designers, yes even the Gundam
It is a joke
Please don't lump us with this autistic powerlevel homosexual
Own your autists. We have to deal with ACgay making us all look like deranged schizos as it samegays virtually every Nintendo thread in the catalog for attention.
>We have to deal with ACgay making us all look like deranged schizos as it samegays virtually every Nintendo thread in the catalog for attention.
That's a nice story you made up, but it has no basis in reality.
I dont think he's a battletech kid. I've been into the franchise since 1996 and never once have I heard anyone refer to any mech as "metal babby" this is just some "babys first pot stirrer find the internet" behavior. Most MW fans are pretty happy to see AC come back.
Dimes to dollars it's the same guy's discord who did this during the lead up to Xenoblade 3. Same post patterns and lmaoposting.
Nah he's semi legit. I quizzed him on MWO builds and mech choice and he had a shockingly good post. Didn't do a meme meta build or poster boy mech. Just a solid medium sniper build.
It was very confusing
Post it.
I don't remember what it is. Thinking it was a triple ERPPC on a....frick. Vapor Eagle? If he's still paround maybe he'll Post it
Seems kind of a shame that someone actually knowledgeable and beneficial to the hobby would fall for contrarian shitposter rhetoric but that’s mental illness for you.
is it normal for "western mech"(Battletech, Titanfall) fans to dislike anime or is it that one autist
It's just him, though there is some weird divide between the two styles. Sometimes you get a western mech fan who doesn't even understand the connection between Robotech, Battletech, and Macross.
I once saw him or somebody like him deny that MechWarrior was in the Battletech universe. It's bizarre because that whole Battletech lawsuit thing is why mecha got gimped in the west, nobody wanted to bring early mech shows over for.risk of getting sued by morons.
It's moronic, but yes, very normal. They all have a huge chip on the shoulder over the fact that their favourite mech stuff is derived from anime to begin with.
Its a meme mostly. The joke usually being people gloating over classic battletech designs being superior to gundams. Knowing full well that most early ones were licensed from animes like dougram or outright traces like the Atlas over the Scopedog.
Probably just the shazamtroons realizing they can ride off one MWgay's autism to have "just cause" since the soulslike narrative fell apart with the newest gameplay footage so they're riding off this moron doing a Dwarf Fortress leeching Rimworld thread or CDDA leeching off those other two games gimmick.
>bunkered
is that the motherfricking stake driver from bloodborne
It's a shitty Front Mission piledriver ripoff.
Scaled up for mecha use, anon.
Pile drivers have been a thing in mech games since, ever.
wat geimu
Damascus gear osaka
i think VOTOMS was the first
You got it backward, the Stake Driver was a Pile Bunker for humans.
>muh posture meter
damn they really went all out with the sekiro playstyle huh?
Yes. Same as Shitiro, Armored Slop is now a corridor QTE sla- I mean shooter.
Although this is a little extreme, it does have animations for certain attacks connecting now. Like if you hit someone with the chainsaw the screen changes angle to show you ripping into them like a fighting/action game.
Do you have footage? I’ve been combing through tons of gameplay and I’ve never seen this thing in action.
I wasn't allowed to record since I saw it at one of the play tests (no I didn't get a chance to play) and one of the ACs equipped with it in the mission with the giant smelter lava robot uses the chainsaw weapon and that happens when the player doesn't successfully dodge. If you do dodge the AC is stuck there for a few seconds sticking out the chain saw so they're really vulnerable. You can walk back into it by mistake and take damage but it doesn't trigger the special animation.
I don’t remember who it was but there was a channel that showed like three seconds of a fight with the AC you described in that same room by accident, so I believe you. Sounds like a sick weapon.
Enemy mechs actually have hit responses now so I’ll take what I can get. When I hit some little homosexual MT with a grenade cannon I want him to forcefully ragdoll and go up like a snow Black person ammo dump, not stand there for a few seconds and THEN explode.
Yeah, now they stand there for a full minute waiting for you to deliver death blow. How incredible.
Yes.
I wish the formula “anonymous imageboard” wasn’t a shining, irresistible beacon to the mentally ill. In theory the idea of a community where the content being discussed and shared is more important than those discussing it is optimal. Way better than shitholes where it boils down to a popularity contest. In practice however this entire hellsite is full of samehomosexuals and crossboard tourists who shit it all up for attention anyway. I hate schizos. I hate schizos more than Black folk, trannies, israelites, and magats. I hate them.
>mwo
your opinions are worthless
>*dodges laser*
nothin personel
>Left Arm: Maneuverable SMG with lots of bullets to shoot missiles and track fast ACs in close combat
>Right Arm: Minigun for damage
>Left Back: Grenade Launcher
>Right Back: Tungsten Rod Missile that was shown
Is it possible to be too thicc?
I’m gonna build a featherweight biped stagger monster with a shotgun, pile, and whatever missiles/rockets let me chunk people in close range.
there better be some EXTRA THICC leg options
Reverse legs
Fricktons of missiles on left and right shoulders. Maybe different types to throw of dodges.
Sniper rifle in right hand to further throw of dodges while my missiles do work.
Machine gun in left hand for close encounters.
>throw of dodges
throw off dodges*
Why do we call them reverse legs? They're regular legs with long toes.
compare the "knee" joints
They aren't knees, they're heels. Like a horse.
Anyone not going to equip anything in the right hand just to punch people?
It'd be cool if there were melee options other than a laser sword. Like a big comically oversized fist or a drill.
There’s quite a few actually. There’s a giant chainsaw, pile bunkers, daggers, and even a whip.
Are you joking? We've already seen a chainsaw, stun baton, some different flavors of energy sword (like knife and spin to win), and punches and kicks are confirmed. Though kicks need to be unlocked and punches might be too
I hope fist fighting is viable, I want to recreate Weltall.
>no wienerpit view - you do not play as the pilot, you play as the dude on a jetpack with a robot skin
>no locational damage - cannot shoot components off the """mech"""

>turn speed does not depend on engine size
>no energy management - energy bar recovers almost instantly when legs touch the ground for but a brief moment

>pvp is just two morons boostslopping in opposite directions while firing non-stop their hardlocked weapons despite the shills lying about hardlock being "useless" in pvp
>pvp manual aim is an absolute joke since it gimps movement
Dogshit arcade kiddieslop that has absolutely nothing to do with mech games.
Still trooning out Shazam? Still hoping you get one last miracle tortanic before you die of hunger, schadenfreude homosexual? Thanks for bumping the thread.
Don't reply to this Black person. He's sustained by (You)s
So this is just wrong on a lot of levels. Certain weapon types do have heat buildup which uses the same indicator as the charge gauge that other weapons use. The hard lock is also composed of two pieces: Camera tracking and firing tracking. The firing tracking is slower with hard lock, meaning the reticle itself takes time to center. You typed all that up just to be proven wrong and look silly in the end. I feel sad for you. Also, you're completely incorrect about the manual aiming gimping motion, it simply turns off all other forms of targeting. Silly. Go ahead and type cope.
>it's heat!
>btw it's not heat!
Lmao moron.
>The firing tracking is slower with hard lock, meaning the reticle itself takes time to center
>admits no mechanical accuracy penalty as in no increased projectile spread
Lolmoron.
I typed all of that and utterly decapitated your moronic ass. Cope.
It's heat, dude. It uses the same UI element as charge but it builds up during fire and the weapon shuts down if it's filled. Generator parts even have a radiator built in with a cooling stat, so I guess that's just a made up useless UI element. We've seen hours of gameplay now and we've seen how the hard lock reticle works. These posts are useless, man. Nobody is going to suddenly ly agree with you or stop playing the game because you said sl*p. Not even giving you a you for that.
>>no heat management - can continuously fire weapons that would have their components overheat from continuous fire (e.g. the autocannon of the German Puma IFV overheats after 37 continuous rounds)
You obviously didn't play Nexus where you overheat just from moderately using your fricking boosters.
>b-but muh older slop!
There is no heat management in 6, dumb kiddie. And armored slop never had proper physics in any title, even those that had turn speed.
Don't care
I'm still playing AC6
>you do not play as the pilot, you play as the dude on a jetpack with a robot skin
You do play as the human, but with the way ACs work, pilots can NEVER leave the AC once they are a pilot, due to pilot augmentations necessary to survive the high g forces.
>no inertia - direction of motion can be changed instantly without coming to a stop first
Yes, because the pilots are augmented to survive the high g forces of these maneuvers. Which is why pilots cannot leave their AC.
>no turn speed - instant turns to any direction in order to maintain lock
Quick Turn has always been a thing. Also, Hard lock is optional.
>no energy management - energy bar recovers almost instantly when legs touch the ground for but a brief moment
This really hasn't been a thing after 4/4a
>no heat management - can continuously fire weapons that would have their components overheat from continuous fire (e.g. the autocannon of the German Puma IFV overheats after 37 continuous rounds)
This hasn't been a thing since the AC3 gen of games
>no separate torso/arm/leg controls ensure that the manual aim is completely worthless
This is partially wrong, Quad legs and Tank treads have separated controls, you can turn your torse without rotating legs. (FOR ONLY THOSE LEG TYPES)
>manual aim is completely worthless by definition since it gimps your movement just like manual bow/crossbow aim in soulslop
See above, and fast boost means this doesn't matter.
>hardlock does not mechanically debuff accuracy regardless of what the shills were saying, it simply applies limitations on motion
The Games directors and other developers have confirmed that Hard Lock IS less accurate, and that they have balanced it for PvP. Also, Hyperfast ACs can break lock by being too fast.
>no use of cover - gameworld consists of huge open spaces that does not emphasize blocking enemy projectiles and breaking locks by hiding behind cover
ACs don't take cover. They dodge, or use a shield.
1/2
Why are you responding to copy/paste shitposting
Block it and move on, normie
(me)
>pvp is just two morons boostslopping in opposite directions while firing non-stop their hardlocked weapons despite the shills lying about hardlock being "useless" in pvp
Hardlock does not guarantee hits. Projectiles will be fired at a target, but will not track, unless they are missiles, and even then, just dodge.
>pvp manual aim is an absolute joke since it gimps movement
See my first post. But Quick turn and fast boosting makes this a non-issue.
2/2
Do you think there will be a kill them all ending?
Easiest bet of my life that you recreate the Fires of Ibis and ignite the rest of the planet's Coral as one of the endings.
With the fire theme going on and the mcguffin the entire game revolves around that could achieve that, it would be weird if there's no such ending.
>no invasions
Literally dead on arrival.
From finally found success by appealing to their core Souls audience, abandoning them like this accomplishes nothing.
You’re embarrassing yourself. No real person is actually mad about one flavor of mecha being more popular in the moment than another. Mechachads are eating well, period. You’re just some homosexual discord troon. It is too easy to spot you. Here’s your (you) though I guess. Do you feel like you’ve accomplished something?
Don't reply to him. He's the DCSgay who has been shitposting Ace Combat threads for 4 fricking years straight and now has a stick up his ass about Armored Core because the new game is coming out.
I’m the one who has been baiting discord since the hands-on gameplay dropped. I’m fishing for suicides, anon.
You can add yourself to the count any time
I will enjoy the game.
I will TANK the whole playthrough.
I will put the biggest weapons I can on my big TANK.
Simple as
Very based anon. I think AC6 is the first game tank legs have ever actually been cool. They were certainly viable in fifth gen but they were boring. Who would have thought making them control like actual vehicles and letting the torso spin 360 degrees would fox everything
>burger hours
Just report the sl*p spammer and move on.
>filter 'slop'
>brainless shitposting reduced by 90%
Its really that easy
Has there been any confirmation as to whether weapon arms are in? Say what you like about Verdict Day but the transforming weapon arms in that were sick as frick.
I had a build that was like a spindly little reverse joint AC with the frick off huge laser cannon WA, having your AC's entire arm and shoulder rotate out of the way to activate it was kino.
Also I think there was a pile bunker arm.
Ah, boo.
Well, if this does well maybe they'll do another with weapon arms.
Weapon arms are so sick.
It's a pile bunker, anon. The stake driver came from AC.
Seems to be a Japanese post saying they are not in, but not sure the source of his info.
Ogura himself said this at the Nagoya play test
Ah, rest in peace. Seems like an odd choice when tank arms are present.
>Tank arms
If only
It's really sad. I get why they did it but I think everyone who played AC had those moments where they cheesed something with weapon arms. Considering most right hand weapons other than karasawa and the 1k machine gun were kinda bad in AC2 weapon arms had a time to shine.
It's going to be interesting to see speedruns that aren't just "buy laser cannon weapon arms and win all AC fights" at least
>noooo please pay attention to meeeee
Kek, now that you've shown that you have no alternative I'm gonna filter it as well. So long homosexual.
You sound unbelievably upset. Gonna cry?
Thank you for outing yourself
I don't know. I've never played an Armored Core game.
You can emulate the three PS1 games on any toaster, and the PS2 ones all emulate well too. Have fun anon.
From reading this thread I realized that people just want a sci-fi tank game.
I want a Bolo! game so fricking badly anon.
This little guy engrained a deep love for the concept in mech fans all the way back in 1979
HURRRR
HOW DO GUNTANK SPACE
I'd do fricked up things for another battlezone
Kusoge gaas game unironically gave guntank(and co) the recognition it deserved.
An arcade tank game in the vein of Ace Combat or Armored Core would be the sickest shit ever.
>no weapon arms
Are there dual-mounted back weapons, at least?
Also how do missiles work now, is there individual locks or is it more like AC4 where you just fire an entire salvo at the current target with a long cooldown?
Entire salvo. Cool down isn't bad though. Like here
It reloads before his combo is over and that's a 10 shot salvo.
Put two of those on and you can almost sustain missile fire. Add in the hand missile launchers for extra fun
Both. There is multilock for when you don't do hard lockon and dumping an entire six rocket volley at one guy when you do.
There is multilocking. You can hold the trigger to lock on to more targets and let go to shoot IIRC.
Tapping fire shoots missiles at one target, holding fire enables a multi-lock to hit several targets with them
>70 bucks
>2 hours long
>spyware DRM
no thanks, I'll just wait for a crack like a normal person
I always rolled reverse joint because they had the best jump
Could get high over the battleground and strafe around
Most NA pvp players couldn't really think in 6dof but jpn was much better at tracking and leading
No thanks, I'm not paying any cent for this slop
I plan on remaking this goofy piece of shit I used in 4.
>hand missiles
You’re alright, anon.
Machine guns and Reverse Joint legs. I'm hoping the 4 weapons thing means I'm going to be able to hose enemies down with 4 machineguns/chainguns at the same time, but I'm a bit worried the controls for doing that are going to be painful. I can't see any good way to to control 4 seperate weapons while moving, boosting/jumping and quickboosting all at the same time.
If you have a controller with back buttons it shouldn't be so bad, otherwise you might have to claw it.
Is there a good controller out there with back buttons you'd recommend?
I've been considering buying one for this exact purpose.
How much do you want to spend? Flydigi Vader 3 has 6 face buttons plus 4 back buttons and other shit for like 70 bucks.
Thanks. They both look good, but do you know how the D-Pads are? I'm always afraid they're going to be like the Xbox 360 D-Pads when they're one solid chunk like that. I swapped to Dualshock 4s years ago just for the D-pad.
That probably won't matter for Armored Core I guess, so I might end up using one controller for D Pad games and one for Analog focused like AC anyway.
The flydigi uses clicky mechanical switches like the Xbox Series X dpad, but supposedly it's easier to hit diagonals on it than the Series X, if that matters to you. If you've never used the Series X dpad, it is phenomenal compared to the 360. Imo it's one of the best dpads I've ever used.
I admit I've never really been a stickler about them, but the Pro2's d-pad has never given me issues. I'm sure you can find a more comprehensive review about it online.
I use an 8bitdo Pro2 mainly because I prefer the PS stick layout. I like it a lot.
Pile bunker with biped legs
Pistol in one hand, shotgun in the other, weapon racks to alternate between two pistols just in case one runs out of ammo and a bazooka instead of a shotty. Reverse joint legs for maximum butthole bunnyhops.
Shitposting aside, I really hope AC6 does well and we get a new tactics Front Mission game
Yeah I'm sure square enix would based their possible sales on an entirely different game from a different company instead of the remakes of the very games that they want to sell.
Armored core 6 can flop on its ass and it wouldn't matter if front mission remakes sell well moron
Square's direction for FF16 was chasing the Elden Ring dragon. Unfortunately, modern Square Enix is completely out of touch and moronic.
That all said, Front Mission remake sold reasonably well and Front Mission 2 and 3 remake are on the way.
Hopefully a new Front Mission game from internal japanese devs and not the team doing the remakes.
I don't trust current SE to make a good game let alone a good Front Mission game. They'd probably just make another Left Alive.
It'd be glorious if they manage it though.
Medium Biped
Hand Brrrrt
Hand Blade
Back GL
Back Missile
Those back mounted shields look neat those. I want to try them.
That's not how these games work. You always get started off with garbage and have to buy your shit piecemeal while you get your funds up with missions.
Anyone know if AC:V and Verdict Day are worth playing singleplayer?
I've finished the whole series up to and including ACFA as of yesterday, and am looking for what to do next. I'm also considering the Another Century's Episode games, which I think I have never heard anyone mention in any context, ever.
Pretty sure the servers for V are dead now and you'll be unable to play like 80% of the content.
5, no, absolutely not.
VD is batshit insane enough to be worth playing through the story, but the bulk of the game was the online multiplayer/clan wars aspect, which was virtually always dead in NA even when the game was new. Only JP really engaged with it at a significant-enough level to move territory on a regular basis.
V mech, VD very yes.
V has like 8 story missions and the bonus missions more or less just get you money. Chief is a fantastic character but it's not worth it for the rest of the bullshit
VD is fricking radical though. There's missions where you fight a dozen ACs at once and it's as frantic and white knuckled as it sounds. Plus the bonus missions have their own fun lore and sub stories like killing an entire cult and family one member at a time
ACV's single player kinda sucks. Verdict day is pretty good, easily better than AC4 IMO.
There were a lot of cool mech designs in WfM and they all got no screentime. Their biggest crime was having that little gay Lauda pilot the Schwarzette.
It was really weird when there was secretly a better Ariel the whole time with a witch broom that showed up to be used at the end and do nothing beyond being a Unicorn reference
This show turned out to be such a pile of shit in the 2nd cour. I thought the ending in the first cour with splatting that dude into tomato sauce would launch some Code Geass level craziness but they walked everything back. Then they baited us again with that Guel episode when he's on earth and it was just kinda there for cheap worldbuilding I guess? This anime did not commit to a single thing. They didn't even commit to the Yuri aspect LMAO.
It's amazing to me that one of the directors came out and said, after the series, that the rings they exchanged were friendship rings and the marriage wasn't real.
Very much in line with the rest of what we got. The prologue and the ending feel like they're from different series. We didn't get a damn thing other than some cheap power of friendship everything works out in the end finale. There was so much filler building up the world and so many characters and they were all just loose ends. Just a failure in storytelling. I don't really care about yuri (I actually like it in moeshit but I don't want it in gundam pls and thank you) but rewatch the end of the first episode where Miorine declares to Suletta and the audience that yeah, two girls can get married, get over it. And they don't have any ceremony or anything. I guess the brass at Bandai Namco had them can it (it's for the best) but it makes what we saw feel especially pointless.
wasted potential. season 1 was solid imo, wish they went more into Earth vs Big Corpo with lots of deaths and mecha action instead of whatever that ending was
i want something that looks lean like Gundam Pharact
Reverse joint with whatever the closest equivalent to dual motorcobras are, or swap a shotgun if they aren't ass. Hotswap pile bunker on my left shoulder, tungsten rods on my right. Or maybe that back mounted shotgun.
I'm real, real excited to play this. It still feels kind of surreal they brought back the franchise.
Middleweight biped, maximum dakka
Is AC:4/FA and V/VD playable on PC with emulation? I want to play the single player of these games before VI comes out.
PS3 emulator can do 4/FA. No clue on V/VD.
I'm playing AC4 right now and it seems alright. I had to enable the settings described here (https://wiki.rpcs3.net/index.php?title=Armored_Core_4) because the textures on my AC were glitched, but those setting fixed it.
>4/4A
Yes. Don't update the game version otherwise it might crash on briefings. Your mech will look like it's made of Legos. After you get the story, update the version. No more Lego mech and you just skip the briefings
>V/VD
Yes. Update the game version. Save often. It will crash often when going into a garage so just save, restart, go into the garage.
Both will take a good amount of settings fiddling but it'll work
>Don't update the game version
I'm stupid, what exactly do you mean by this? Like download a 1.0 version of the game or are you saying the game asks you to update in-game?
Oh just download the rom. If your going RPS3 it'll give you 1.0 and it's very weird to update that version so just deal with the Lego mechs in 4 and then Google "how the frick" when you're going to do V.
If I remember correctly you literally have to use internet archive to find the files that used to just be available while most people say "download my third party spyware/join my discord",
I dont have lego mechs in 4. Everything works perfect, just very few crashes in the garage
I just finished AC:4 and FA. The texture glitch is fixed by ticking one setting in RPCS3 and other than that I didn't have a single issue. Lots of people mention crashes on briefings and things, but I didn't get one.
This was on the latest RPCS3, nothing special done with it, using the version of the games on Vimm's Lair.
V and VD run very well on a Xenia build called new_xma_decoder@9f72a7c08 on Apr 9 2023 there are also some graphical adjustments in the folder that I don't have the url to link to at the moment. My experience with the 5th gen games was more stable than it was with the 4th gen on rpcs3
>been playing the entire series in anticipation of VI
>can't get V to emulate properly at all on rpcs3 (no music in-game) or xenia (crashes on launch)
It's so fricking over bros...
>didn't play V on release
lol, lmao even
Dude I hadn't played a single Armored Core game until a month ago.
Which ones did you enjoy most/think are worth playing for another newbie between now and release?
Not him but if you just want the core Armored Core experience and you only want to play one game, play 3. 3 is basically the quintessential classic AC experience and you get pretty much everything with it. If you want to play one more game then I'd say 4A (I haven't played it but it seems to be a favorite and elements from this game are being carried over to VI when it comes to speed).
Armored Core 3+Silent Line
This. I think AC3 to SL is the best pair of games in the series actually.
Massively agree. 3 with the save transfer to SL is fricking SICK. And ACVI seems to be calling back to 3 in some respects. The devs wore some AC3 shirts on streams too. Those two are a fan favorite.
Was 6 going to have bunny hopping?
No I don't think so. It just seems to have gone back to a pace that feels familiar to me as an AC3fella. Somebody will tell me I'm moronic but I think it looks not too disimilar from what I know and from what I've played of 4, this looks like it's sort of like bwteen 3 and 4 with some more booster action which from whhat I hear is kind of a 5 thing?
I'd also recommend 3. I'll give Nexus a shout out since it was the game FROM finally realized the PS2's control came with two analog sticks by default and using them for movement/aiming had been the industry standard for a few years.
In addition to everyone saying 3, I very much enjoy and would recommend 1. If you rebind move/look to joysticks, it's a competent TPS that's aged remarkably well.
The only way to understand the armored core experience is to rent armored core 2 from Hollywood Video or Blockbuster on a Friday night in 4th grade and then go play it for the first time at a sleep over with some friends
Stop.
For me it was staying a week with my uncle and having my cousin repeatedly save over my Another Age file by accident in spite of the fact that they had their own memory card
I got 5 a little after it's release after not even hearing about it and happening to see it at the store
Quit probably 5 minutes into the first mission, don't remember why just remember really hating how it played
i've been playing 3, isn't this just.... a mecha simulator..
Yes. But don't worry Don, there's a Spanish conquistador-themed manufacturer and laser lances in 6, you can make your very own Rocinante.
Honestly, it’s always been a more arcadey sim than a straight simulator like how the shazamtrannies keep spamming with
(Me)
>mfw I actually got V working on xenia (and it works properly)
Turns out the iso I was using was simply borked. I found another one and it worked immediately. The working iso was from Vimm's for anyone wondering.
how big do the lasers get?
since theres no weapon arms probably very big from a super weapon
online gonna be crazy
dunno, I'm just gonna wing it and decide on the fly
The fact that all those souls homosexual streamers were paid to shill this and that normalgays will now jump on the AC train, actually makes me not want to buy this game anymore
Why? If that's the only thing bothering you, you can just play the single player, or if you're into multiplayer just spend the first two weeks after launch stomping newbies into the ground.
>Why?
If you can't tell, you don't belong here
i hate it too but it is what it is.
>caring about anything but the game itself.
homosexual, ngmi.
They all got to play the game, and after doing so they all kneeled and had to admit it’s nothing like Souls.
And the few who decided to play other AC games after this one got announced agreed it’s a true AC game.
Funny how that smug c**t Vaati was patting himself on the back after he was proven right about it being a soulslike is suddenly dead silent on that front after ACTUALLY playing hours of it
reverse-jointed legs
energy sword
shotgun
anything else for a cqc build?
big conk
First play through I will honor my ps1 playthoughs as a kid
>weapons
Biggest heaviest cannons
>legs
Tank legs all day every day
Frick flying
Frick going fast
And FRICK dex builds
melee only build possible?
fist only is possible
Honestly the fact that I can say frick it and start throwing hands after throwing my guns away with my machine like the ending of Char’s Counterattack is a lot more based than people are really giving attention to.
Melee is left arm only, but if you're truly devoted you can run no weapons on the right and go punching.
Kinda? Melee is left arm only but you can unlock a kick and punch.
The punch is a bit curious to unlock. Not sure if you just leave the right hand slot empty or equip the be overweight+purge equipment OST chips and...purge the right arm weapon to unlock it
There is an OST upgrade that just increases your melee damage though
mix between quad and tank depending on the mission
karasawa or machine gun
moonlight or shield
grenade launcher+missile launcher back weapons
Arena's confirmed right?
Yes
Can't wait to see what kind of bullshit cheating niggotry the top arena fights have to make me seethe in this one lads.
>enemy ACs mysteriously do 4x as much stagger damage as what's normally possible with their weapons
>enemy ACs basically can't be staggered
>enemy ACs have infinite energy and inhuman reflexes that allow them to quick-boost out of the path of projectiles the moment you press a button
>enemy ACs inexplicably have infinite ammo and ignore the regular cooldowns on their weapons
After Elden Ring, I'm expecting nothing less than LR on crack. Fromsoft doesn't know anything other than artificial difficulty at this point.
And despite this there are still soulstubers that are latching on to it being a souls like. I cannot wait for release so they can finnaly just shut the frick up.
They already dropped the narrative as seen by nobody really seriously pushing the idea anymore outside of the stragglers that will always think it's a soulslike because
>Well the targetting is inspired by dark souls!
You forgot my favorite one:
>enemy ACs somehow melt your ultra heavily armored AC in half a second while you have to focus them down for an entire minute with Karasawa/linear cannon blasts while they fly around like a goddamn fairy
good old Seraph
>input reading enemies that can dodge sniper fire before the shot has even left the barrel
god I can't fricking wait
J was already guilty of that in Verdict Day
I think my most vivid memory as a little kid is getting actually mad at a video game for the first time in my life at one of the arena matches from one of the games.
It was a huge sudden jump in difficulty and then I read his bio and it says something like "obsessed with the number 1. has the skills to challenge rank 1 but stays at 11 because it has twice as many 1's"
I think I eventually cheesed him by basically using his same chain gun weapons on an ac with way more armor
that guy is based
That's the one, fricking butthole. I guess I used a bunch of chain guns and just somehow out dps'd him, can't remember that long ago
>he’d rather be ranked 11 than 1 because it has twice as many 1’s
kek what a madlad
That was Armored Core 2. Good times.
Yes, but it was largely under NDA with regards to footage. There's also 1v1 and some sort of 3v3 deathmatch PVP.
Yes and it's how you unlock OST chips which are basically RPG star growth points. Unlocks some moves, weapon damage improvements, stability improvements, manual aim. Bunch of shit
Did you even look at OP image?
No
post yfw
>Welcome back, Raven.
I've seen some playthroughs of the older games but that's it. And I, ACnewbie, STILL got chills when she said that. Can't imagine what actual AC oldgays are feeling right now, holy hype
Same, I was so hyped when I heard that. Its weird how you can pick up the energy of other people from the past when you learn about what they loved. Can't wait to play the game, I hope the nice lady calls me Raven alot
How do you kick during assault boost? Is assault boost a fixed distance dash or do you hold it to extend it the distance?
I think you just tap the assault boost button again
Melee weapons are super gay
except for the pile bunker
>still replying to the wannabe DCSgay bait
It’s probably an elaborate samegay. Once you stop engaging these creatures they start talking to themselves.
>quad legs
>manual aiming OS chip
>all 4 weapon slots using some version of machine guns
Yep, it's gaming time
Machine and chain guns
ok
im gonna kill myself
Good luck anon.
>early 00s
eternal newbie
you only know about armored core because of me : )
dumb namegay, I thought you were gonna have a nice day?
cope and thank me for showing you plebs the cool franchise
No I know it because my dad brought home a demo disk with a demo of AC1 and Croc on it and I played that shit every day for like half a year straight while constantly begging my parents for a copy. Then I took years to beat it because I was moronic and had no idea wtf I was doing.
I have never played an AC game but I'm thinking
2x fast firing guns, preferably hitscan, if that exists
1x Big, fat one hit gun
1x sword
>preferably hitscan, if that exists
Hitscan has never existed in armored core and won't in this either.
biped and quad. dual back grenade launchers the old faithful frick off combo. varying right hand rifles and a energy sword. might use a shield
reverse biped with chainsaw/shotgun with the most forward boosting booster possible and as much energy conservation as I can get
I'll make it look like Burning Gundam (God Gundam) from G Gundam, and I'll use SEKEIHA LOVE LOVE TENYOKENNNNN and summon Burger King to crush my enemies.
No Nineball Seraph Cameo No Buy
