As soon as steam input gets updated to support the back paddles and fn buttons, and hall effect stick modules get released the DualSense Edge will become THE controller for pc
You already have one, right Ganker?

>hall effect stick modules
what is that? and you're just talking about the 2 back buttons right?
and no, this thing is moronicly expensive and you've had to be moronic to buy it full price
I bought
Based. I'm waiting for a year to see if it holds up
Normally I’d agree with you about it being too expensive, but the premium quality is there (and after three DualSense dying from stick drift, at least I won’t have to spend for a whole new controller if current sticks die)
>what is that?
Stick technology. Most controllers currently use badly manufactured potentiometers which is the reason they die so easily. Hall effect sticks instead use magnets, so are way less prone to wear and this drift, plus they are much more precise and allow for a much smaller dead zone without negative sides
>the two back buttons
The edge has 4 extra buttons actually, the two back ones and two fn on the sticks themselves, which allow for hardware profile switching (though right now you need a PS5 to set the profiles, but the switching works even on pc)
Depends on the game, if it has some moronic binding they can make your life much easier. Also, you can bind combinations like save states for emulators and so on
you're probably a brainlet who didn't clean his sticks
notice how the new sticks can't be cleaned?
>paying 200 dollars and it doesn't even have hall effect sticks, you have to put them in yourselves
>still shitass d-pad
>still shitass battery life

I've personally not ever experienced stick drift.
I'm almost certain it's just homosexuals who can't wash their hands properly and crunch the sticks into the sides from sperging out while playing, having no control over the amount of strength they put into tiny plastic contraptions. moronic subhumans.
That said hall effect sticks barely cost more, but obviously they don't put them in because they make a lot of money from people buying multiple controllers instead of one.
>(and after three DualSense dying from stick drift, at least I won’t have to spend for a whole new controller if current sticks die)
Is there different analog? I like the ps3 analog
This comes with the rounded DS2/3 style sticks and they are perfect, my left thumb always slips off the DS4 and DuelSense sticks.
wtf is that bootleg ouya?
It's also has better triggers and internals.
Still too overpriced though. Maybe I'll get it if it's on sale for $120.
eh. i bought it, but i still prefer the switch pro controller.
Why would I need back paddles? Normal controller is just fine. I'd literally only use them for like the screenshot button lmao
can you install the hall effects or not yet? also hows the d-pad any improvements?
>can you install the hall effects or not yet?
Not yet, gulikit is working on them but it'll take time
>hows the d-pad any improvements?
I already liked the base dualsense's dpad a lot, this one is much better. Buttons are much less mushy and more clicky, and just feel better to use. Not as clicky as the Vita, though
How's that gyro working?
Same, I tried the 360 controller once and it was absolutely horrible
You get high and low dome caps other than the standard ones, so yeah, you can simply remove the ones it comes with and put your favorite ones
How's the battery life?
Haven't really tried it wireless so far, I usually prefer to just play with a cable plugged in
Already using the far superior (with more back buttons) Elite 2. No reason to get this tripe.
pretty funny that microsoft patented having 4 back paddles, maybe snoy will pay them some royalties to have their controller be worth shit
A replacement for my SC will be kino as frick.
especially cause it feels like an eternity waiting for a deck/neptune-layout SC2.
>no gyro
total trash for PC games.
Gyro mogs 2 more paddles.
Valve won the case against those morons at scuf.
>Valve won the case against those morons at scuf.
and yet the edge only has 2 paddles... curious
steam deck has 4 paddles
deck isn't a controller it's a console
it's not a console... it's an experience
thank you gaben
Yeah an experience putting my 'ick on 'eck
filtering "'ick" and getting rid of one guy's entire spam campaign of his wiener was a pretty good experience
This. deck trannies are frickin gross obese losers
>deck trannies
>fat butcher who's extremely proud of his penis and maleness
what did he mean by this
you could use it as a controller technically
Cause thier a gay
Deck is not a console.
>Deck is not a console.
cope
its not a console, it's a PC, on a deck, you can load emulators and mods right from steam.
>"the sky is green"
>the sky is blue
>"cope"
cope
>Elite
Aren't those notorious for having terrible build quality?
I was going to buy one a few years ago but there were a lot of people complaining about them breaking after just one year of use.
it feels great, but scuf (whom microsoft works with) is known for having totally faulty products.
i've been on team dualshock since ps2, the only PC controllers i've used are DS3 and DS4. Everything else feels like handling a frisbee. Xbox controllers are shaped like a fricking turnip
I already have one of those except it has a neat Game Boy d-pad and it's $150 less expensive.
>Left analog stick still in a moronic uncomfortable position
Lmao frick no it won’t. I own a DualSense and an Xbox controller and I still opt for the Xbox controller even in games that have great haptic feedback because that moronic ass left analog stick hanging out down in no man’s land and the d-pad where the analog stick should be makes games too uncomfortable to play. I’m not going to sacrifice comfort gaming just to get better rumble.
>meanwhile this guy somehow manages to manipulate the right analog stick without breaking his hand
How do you do it, bro?
Are you one of those console kids who plays first person shooters on the PC with a controller or something? The face buttons are appropriately placed in the primary thumb position on the right side of the Xbox controller because they’re used more frequently in every type of video game other than first person shooters. And every PC gamer should be using the mouse and keyboard for first person shooters, rendering the issue controllers have with that genre entirely moot.
I play on PSX first, so I will never think the Xbox layout is better.
does it have a battery life that isn't dogshit?
my DS4 has only ever lasted 5 hours on a full charge
Worse.
The USB lock this comes with is more than hinting that you should never unplug it.
Sounds like another way to wreck your controller.
Even being extremely careful with my DS, using it on USBC over the last year and change has left me with a pretty loose port that will probably fail on me if I continue using it while plugged in. I have since switched to exclusively gaming on wireless and charging it in a stationary place when it's dead.
That's why it has a lock you dip. Still a shit way to use anything with a battery though.
I need a bigger chink battery.
>snoy shit
I'm good
Man, I got a PS5 last week after trying a Series S at first, playing the same games with a DS5 feels like fricking a high school girlfriend years later once she became a supermodel. Obvious I can’t speak to the durability which I’ve not heard great things about, but holy shit is it worlds better than the Series controller. More responsive, deeper triggers (a must for me as I mostly place racing games and GTA) and the haptic stuff is very cool when I’m in the mood for it. If the new pro version proved to be worth it and stands the test of time, I’ll definitely give it a shot in a year or two. It really does feel like returning to something I’m familiar with, but it being significantly better than I remember, if that makes sense.
I’m glad I got the SS though, Sonys backward compatibility stinks and I need something to play GTA IV, Max Payne 3 and RDR1 on. Well worth the $300.
Dygenic fricking zoomer moron, holy shit. What a total moron.
i already own an xbox elite which does that
>hall effect
is this confirmed?
I've got a really old hall effect joystick and it still works perfectly, would be hyped for a controller that reliable
Nah I already have this
>gyro (good gyro)
>rear buttons
>hall effect sticks
>both bluetooth and RF adaptor
>good dpad
My only issue with it is not being able to use my eneloops
I was really interested in Hall Effect and 2.4ghz on an 8bitdo controller but they lost me with the Xbox layout. I'll wait for a version in Playstation layout, or just stick with Pro 2 or SN30 Pro I guess.
sadly no gyro + analog triggers afaik
I like mine but the only controller I have that can do both is the steam controller
This is a bummer too but I haven't really needed both at the same time yet. I'm not a fan of analog triggers in general though
I know a lot of people use them for stuff like gyro activation, but I'm a 'gyro always on' kinda guy
>Wagglangay
>moron who's afraid of learning new things
You're just like the (literal) boomers at work who refuse to learn how to use excel
cap touch on the trackpad for gyro enabling has been nice for the steam controller
I'm stuck between this, the gulikit kk 2 pro, or just a regular xsx controller for PC gaymin.
There’s a steam app that adds pretty much all this shit for $4.99 called DSX
If it's so good, why are the analog sticks in the wrong place?
The Playstation knew better than to frick with the sheer perfection that is the SNES controller. Presumptuous cur that the Xbox is, it destroyed the work of its forebears and released a mockery of controlling perfection
Is there any advantage in the d-pad over regular DualSense? I mostly play 2D games so don't care that much about the sticks (and never got stick drift after two years anyways)
Laughs in MnK and Fightsticks.
