The cheapest one with 3060ti, 12400F/12100F.

  3. 2 years ago

I know you don’t want to hear it but you should really build. It will be cheaper and much better and you will absolutely have to work inside of it at some point. A prebuilt is not a console, you will have issues

      Anonymous

Normally this is true but currently , it's actually $300-$500 cheaper to purchase a pre built with a 3070 TI than it is to buy the components individually.

? I can get a 3080 off newegg for $800 now a days. The worst part of prebuilts is they almost 100% are shipping you used parts at a premium price.

Not really. The other components were actually decent with no bottlenecks. The only thing I did was strip the components and put it in my older case with better air flow.

it depends on how much nvidia improves their next gen gpus. The GTX 1080 came out 6 years ago and it's still a really solid gpu, assuming you play at 1080p

                >depends on how much nvidia improves their next gen gpus
kinda but not really, it mostly depends on how long poor people are going to continue to be lazy and not get ahead in their lives and get to a point where they can finally upgrade their cards and developers can finally use new gear as benchmarks, instead of old 2019 shit

mostly their drivers that are memes. GPU wise. AMD CPUs are fine

      Anonymous

In the early '00s AMD GPU drivers were genuinely troublesome. These days they are fine. The real consideration these days is DLSS and RTX, which are worth the NVIDIA tax imo.

AMD CPUs are best value an the market.

      Very good. You'll be a happy g4mer.

Do you really need anything more than a 1060 or 1660 GTX?

No. If you want 1080/60 that's all you need. The 10xx series has incredible value. RTX cards really shine if you have a high refresh rate monitor; also makes TAA tolerable if you supersample.

Never built a pc before but what I want a "gaming" desktop for is pretty much emulation, up to ps3. Would I even need a gpu if I got a powerful ass cpu with integrated graphics?

It's very circumstantial. You probably still want a dedicated GPU, but I don't know if you are looking to emulate past 720/1080 and 30 fps.

I only have a tiny 720 monitor and maringally larger 1080 which I could use if I felt like dual monitoring. 60 fps would be nice and I couldn't care less for anything above.

Fans are not as silent or good at cooling but fans do not spill liquid into your computer when something goes wrong and are cheap as frick and easy to maintain and clean and replace.
And guess what most water cooling solutions still have fans anyway.
