>Celeste is a 2018 platform game developed and published by indie studio Maddy Makes Games.[a] The player controls Madeline, a young woman with anxiety and depression who aims to climb Celeste Mountain. During her climb, she encounters several characters, including a personification of her self-doubt known as Badeline, who attempts to stop her from climbing the mountain.
What the frick is wrong with modern game developers?
>be millenial
>make game
>"Oh crap I almost forgot to fill the quota."
>make character have "anxiety" and "depression"
Black person I'm also a millennial yet I don't feel the need to be like muh depression.
>Maddy
>tfw the main character is a self insert for the dev who trooned out soon after the game released
Kek
remember when everyone was memeing that this game was about abortion
they had to change their tune after the dlc came out
In a way trooning out is an abortion.
You mean morons who never played the game? There was absolutely nothing that hinted at abortion. Fricking idiots on Ganker will believe anything.
But we were redeemed in the end because being a troony is a metric frickton worse than an allegory for aboriton.
>the bad guy has kidnapped your girlfriend, go kick his ass.
This game was much more fun than Celeste, had more content than Celeste, and came out years before Celeste did but morons payed more attention to Celeste because muh depression. I hate Celeste for the moronic troon storyline, but even more than that I hate it for having gameplay that's incredibly mediocre.
>muh deep meaningful something something spiritual emotional experience or something
I heard it is a decent platformer
Not a bad platformer but story is incredibly gay.
Why isn't the main character's name Celeste that's moronic.
>not renaming it Celeste
>Badeline
I bet whoever came up with that pun felt really clever
took inspiration from the Nintendo school of "villainous counterpart" naming schemes.
The thing is Nintendo uses that sort of naming convention in games where the tone throughout is just as innocent and (for a lack of a better term) childish. You aren't going to be seeing many pun-based names in Nintendo games about depression and transitioning.
Hihi i'm Daisy! 28, it/its, i'm looking for friends who are down to play some of the games i can't bully convince my husband to play with me - Mainly Valorant, Street Fighter 6 (Or any fighting game, really. i have way too many and miss having someone to play with and learn alongside) and i've been dipping into OW2 on occasion when i have the patience for QP players all sharing one collective brain cell.
idk what else to day, really. i'm in mountain time, in case it matters, but my schedule is pretty free and i get lonely playing solo games all day lol. Preferably i'd have some friends around my own age but as long as you're over 18 and chill it's all good! Feel free to hit me up for my Discord ^^ (Bonus points for fellow stoners)
It was a fun platformer with good music.
This kinoge mindbroke countless chuddies. Trans rights won.
You will never be a woman
>mentally ill people make good art, like in all of history
doesn't change that trannies have a mental illness and will lose in the long run
Did they retcon Madeline into being trans? Because I don't recall seeing anything representing that in the game. I just remember the general depression, anxiety, self-esteem parts
The dev trooned out after the game came out and in """her""" lunacy started posting on Twitter about how the character was actually trans all along even though nothing in the game implies that besides the ending of a DLC showing a transcancer flag on a spot of the ending screen
You ignored Bridget's retcon about being trans so why do you so easily accept Madeline's retcon about being trans?
in one of the in game art pics there are the trans flags in madeline's room
great game tb h.
the last great 2d platformer.
The player base of this game is all about gay rights yet they disqualified a speedrunner because he was playing Ram Ranch in the background
Why did the developer make the character trans years after the game came out?
Check out I wanna be the guy fangames if you enjoyed a hard platformer like Celeste.
I've never played any of those games, recently I discovered I Wanna Maker (its free on steam) and the campaing was really good, I'm also enjoying the levels that get in the curated lists
Which ones would you recommend? preferably ones focused more on platforming more than trolling you
Honestly I find it hard to recommend easy stuff to a beginner but I wanna Maker is great even if it has the problems of a lot of shit levels like mario maker.
I'd say check out cwpat.me/beginner-fangames
A classic one to start with is Not Another Needle Game https://delicious-fruit.com/ratings/game_details.php?id=12534
Thanks bro, I'll check those out. I'm not really a beginner when it comes to precision platformers but I'm not a pro either lol
I already played Celeste and Super Meat Boy and was looking for similar games. I liked The End is Nigh but haven't finished it, I got stuck in a very hard part
trans
In this case I don't care because the gameplay is good. I just skip all the cutscenes
>Pirate this game after hearing it praise
>It's just a shitty basic plateformer
>Look we're filling 80% of the screen with spikes
>Story is boring af
Dropped it at the hotel, fricking glad i never bought it
>millennial
>American
I have your two issues right here
