This feature is only useful when you're overleveled enough that ANY MOVE your mon could possibly RNG spit out will win. At that point the exp gained is absolutely minimal, completely irrelevant. There's no benefit to this beyond a normal use of repels.

The portable PC stayed, but hasn't been forced yet.
Leaks say we have a new portable Pokémon Center as well, so that's staying.
Now we have auto-battling. It could "just" be the Idle Exp. feature like jobs in SWSH, or it could be effectively a way to run the whole game super easy. Knowing GF, it's likely both.

          >good only to clear annoying low leveled encounters
Exactly what I said. Just leave autobattle on a place you OHKO everything. At least until it's clarified how the PP usage works but I seriously think it won't be relevant since having to go to the Pokemon Center every 5 minutes to fill up goes against the purpose of letting you do something else while the mon fights. Also it would probably break somehow if you run out of damaging move PPs or not have any damaging moves at all.

            >Exactly what I said
You said it somehow let you grind to lvl100 per night. But it’s just plain stupid cause not only because low leveled mons won’t give you enough exp for that even if you let it play itself overnight (maybe if you do so for entire week or something, but that’s also plain stupid) but also because there probably will be lots of more convenient ways to level up such as those exp candies etc
So, in conclusion this autobattle is nothing but helps you lessen ”spam A” bullshit

This. The problem is the series has deep combat mechanics but does everything in its power to make it so you don't have to engage with them outside of competitive. The rift between the single player experience and the competitive experience is laughable at this point, literally mash A to win vs. actual 400 IQ combat.

And then suddenly they add one (1) feature you can find in other games and now I'm seeing posts like as if people haven't been begging GF to add certain features standard in other JRPGs for literally 20 years.
But okay, okay, let's keep up this fucking energy then! Let's get cutscene skip and voiced cutscenes and multiple saves and your party following you in the overworld being the standard and not a goddamn gimmick to drive sales. Except you won't ask for these things and I know why.

Pokemon fans are the definition of sheep, their default state is defending Gamefreak, if there's a game that doesn't have a feature people want, it was never actually important and you're an entitled shitbaby manchild for wanting it--but if Gamefreak DOES add a feature, it's actually the best shit ever, why would they NOT add it? It's basic to other JRPGs after all! Ignore how it took them 4 Switch games to get a minimap or how PLA's lack of a minimap was also defended by fans, Gamefreak added a minimap NOW so anyone who didn't want one, or anyone who thinks they should've added it sooner is retarded (because minimaps weren't actually needed until GF added one).
