CivCol WTP is amazing, what a great concept for a strategy game. It's really fricking hard too, any fans got some tips on how to manage the early game economy? Not sure when to build my soldiers or how much I should rely on Europe.

Worst shit I've ever (un)installed.
Make a horse breeding factory.
Play freecol instead.
FreeCol is better
Original Col is better
WTP is the definition of a bloat mod, and it actually managed to out-do previous bloat mod for Civ4Col, R&R
>Wojak poster
>moronic
Checks out
I seriously don't understand what they are even trying to achieve at this point. R&R was too fricking big already. They've took it, made WTP out of it, which is twice as big... and WTP is continously expanded.
Why? What's the fricking goal or even point? The economic aspect of the game is completely broken due to the massive bloat (not to mention double-ring colonies), the AI can't play the mod for shit, and the gorillion of different units that are all completely interchangeable is just sickening. There are like 5 different fishing vessels, all doing exactly the same shit and all being equally useless. Why do I need three different kinds of dissident refugees?
This lack of self-restrain is just plain confusing. Whatever idea they had for the mod originally is long gone and now they are just adding shit for the sake of it.
>adding resources and mechanics (slaves ect) that played integral roles in the colonization of the americas and 100% should have been in the basegame and their absence makes the basegame severely underwhelming is bloat.
have a nice day 60iq moron, don't come to this board anymore.
>Things nobody said or claimed
>Followed by a childish ad-hom
Honestly the new additions at this point are getting indefensible, adding slaves and important resources like coffee made sense but we don’t need fricking peanut trees added to the game. I’ll probably edit out the new resources added in the next update
peanuts were one of the cash crops that the spanish and portugese encountered in south america, they later become the largest export of some of the french west african colonies. They absolutely deserve to be in the game.
I honestly can't tell if you are blatantly baiting, or genuinely moronic
read a history book fricking moron
So it's baiting. Thanks for making it clear
You were told to play original game or FreeCol, weren't you?
I did that too, they're both not great
I'll stick to Civ
I never said FreeCol is great. My entire point is that it makes a better game than Civ4Col or any of its mods. That's not the same thing.
Nta, but people like you are cancer. All your posts do is bring down the quality of the board. Go back to Ganker you mouth-breathing moron.
>t. Gankertard in action
>not looking forward to freed Blacks having a +2 bonus to peanut butter production
Next version of WTP is going to get even more bloat. Like holy shit even I think it's too much.
Oh, and I almost forgot:
All this fricking effort, along with an attempt to expand natives and their options... without actually letting them use said options. There is an entire fricking line of native buildings, which they won't build, because AI doesn't understand how to construct as natives, for it never got scripted for it AND even if it gets event-spawned buildings, it can't operate them, since it will shit out population as warriors/braves/scouts anyway.
buy raw materials
process them into manufactured goods in colony
sell back in europe or africa
like you can just buy some dumb crap like furs for 4 gold and sell coats for 18 gold
oh early game economy? fill your ship with Trade Goods, sail to an indian settlement, dump all of them there. it is important to have a big load, theyll reduce their buying price after.
trade with natives, especially the ones with the trader tag. If you can find a village that is near a precious resource like silver or gems you can even buy the goods for a huge profit, like 15 or 20 gold per good. they will also buy there in demand goods for more than the europe selling price so it really pays to be on good terms with the natives early and trade extensively with them until your own economy is developed.
Imo early on you get the most return out of religion. The first immigrants are very cheap, and you can buy one when the bar is almost filled, allowing you more control over which ones you want, while barely paying anything.
Nah, if you play on gigantic on WTP exploration is absolutely the most profitable. You get money, various troops that can only be acquired through events/FFs, colonists, native slaves, missionaries and treasures. It's free shit compared to what you need to invest to get it considering most colonies start with a cavalry that can be converted into a scout.
i play with goodie huts off and revolutionary ai so founding fathers arent an option.
I "priced it in", as you said, it is extremely cheap to set up. One or two scouts will be enough, and you might get one pretty much for free as an early migrant.
I don't think more scouts would be worth it. Maybe you can get more first contacts, though the AI seems to be terrible at exploring. Getting more treasures earlier wouldn't help either, as you need a galleon first.
All in all, exploring is great but does not scale. While crooses do, at least to a point (an immigrant every 1/2 turns)
OP here. I uninstalled the game. Not because of bloat, but because of the insane RNG. Spawn location, treasure huts, native rewards and immigration was a fighting nightmare and I got sick of shit starts. Nothing like running your dragoon over a ruin and it instantly being killed, forcing a restart.
Bloat was manageable, but I felt like an autist constantly having to micromanage by logging and production to be efficient.
Civ is just far better, the gameplay loop is actually fun and has room for strategy.
