could nu-obsidian even pull off another fallout or was new vegas lighting in a bottle?

new vegas is absolute dogshit, liked by people who dont actually like rpgs and found the game when they were in their developmental teen years, so latch onto it as a form of formative nostalgia
1, 2, and tactics are the only good fallouts

      >Fallout 1: Good roleplaying game in a mostly-serious dark wasteland setting
      >Fallout 2: Great roleplaying game in a goofy meme wasteland setting
      >Fallout 3: Great first person explorer in a moody but not well thought-out wasteland setting
      >Fallout 4: Great minecraft with guns
What does NV have to offer imo?

        >What does NV have to offer
All of the above, except memecraft.

        Also, stop baiting so hard.

Anyone who says they prefer NV to 4 is baiting. 4 actually has gameplay whereas NV is a pick options from a list simulator.

4 has gameplay but the dialogue system consists of yes yes sarcastic yes and no

And probably an even stupider cast of characters than 3.
The Rail Road is utterly retarded and the Institute sure loves not explaining things to their new leader.

fallout 2 is pop culture reference fest liked only by people born too late to enjoy fallout 1 so they latch onto last old school fallout rpg to validate themselves

    >could nu-obsidian even pull off another fallout
no, outer worlds proved that already.

This, NV was lighting in a bottle. Made just before all of them got pozzed to hell and back.

Pillars of Eternity already proved that before Outer Worlds.

They have a chance, Bethesda has no chance.

Since microgarden gnome owns them and Bethesda i think it makes the most sense to have them work together. Obsidian can provide the vision and plot and Bethesda can do the grunt work.

      >Obsidian can provide the vision and plot
Because that worked so well in POE, POE2, Tyranny, Outer Worlds, Kids Outdoor Bugs Adventure, etc.

      Face it Obsidian is dead.

New Vegas is not nearly good enough to be described as "lightning is a bottle." That game is awful.

    Fun Fact:
the tumbleweed rolling across you at the beginning of the game, when you leave doc mitchell house, is a scripted event. Since Obsidian coded the game in a tree-like fashion and that scripted event is placed very low down the roots, if you mod to erase tumbleweed from the game huge number of quests will stop working

tldr: removing tumbleweed from FO:NV can severely screwed up the game

that's pretty blatantly untrue. the tumbleweed is only referenced in one script. you can just comment out the one line that enables it in the script or move it to an inaccessible cell if you don't want it to be there.

rpg codex shills still making their fan fic threads here like new vegas was successful or worth playing
it wasnt, obsidian can't make good games , just makes excuses when they fail every time.

off to make another wasteland game that nobody will remember a month after beating it

No, they lost it. Even if they still had Avellone, he's pretty much lost his touch.

Absolutely not. You need the perfect storm of
    >Avellone
    >Sawyer
    >Gonzalez in particular
And a couple other names I don't have on hand.

If Bethesda is only interested in making shallow, wacky, setpiece-based Fallout. Why don't they just make Fallout: Wild Wasteland?

This guy is one of my favorite characters on new vegas and helped me not always side with the most good guy solution for a quest
