As someone from LiD launch I can tell you they learned nothing.
There's some new mechanics and shit sure, but the core gameplay is not worthwhile.

They give you some cringe ass streamer-esque ratings system
And of course you can P2W.

You can buy your way to the top because like with LiD they have no intention on adding anything other than artificial grind and soul-less monetization that actually kills the game faster than it brings it players.
Whoever signed off on this shit is actually moronic. This shit is never going to take off, but the game itself was pretty cheap to make all things considered, not like they make projects with longevity in mind.

I'd much prefer an actual LMS game which this seems to offer, because the only defining feature of a BR is it takes fricking forever to play for nowhere near enough payoff. I guess random mushroom placement and arena shrinkage is the RNG that gives it the impression of BR elements, but until I saw the gameplay and how short a round was I wrote off this game just because of that definition.
Not really, more like a shitty Melee-based Battle Royal like Rumbleverse but infinitely shittier. It has some core ideas and weapon types from LID but nothing really else. The devs themselves say it's a spin-off not a sequel either.
It's a fricking shame but I really hope they end up doing a proper sequel/overhaul to LID since there's plenty of shit the game can work with. I love the aesthetic (despite your character looking liek a meth clown half the time) and music, but it's GungHo so frick.
I looked up the ending at some point and goddammit.
The only thing they can do with LiD is remake it, and that might be a bit early, exploring the world around it is the most sensible.
It is a Suda game though so it was always going to be a roll of the dice. I'll check the story/lore on PC and then just go back to LiD (which is prob the best state it's in right now with catchups and repeatable Deathverse quests for specific meterials)
They had the option to actually work on it and turn the upper-floors into better areas than just shitty climbing and premium currency dipping to send materials back to your place.
If you think about it, making new areas wouldn't even cost much money. They made the 44CE men into super gimmicky and mushroom abuse fights. This was so lazy and boring.
LiD fricking died thanks to the lack of attention to detail. It truly is a shame because LiD had a pretty damn good story up to floor 40.
After that, you're better off uninstalling it hands down.

Getting knocked into a corner is ass since all attacks besides hammers attack the sides first so you're basically screwed
There's no quick distinction between sprinting and normal movement, too many fricking times I think the enemy is just jogging and then the quick shield breaker fricks you over, like make the player sprint all goofy looking or something to show a player is running, a fricking player can sprint two steps next to you and gain shield breaker
This game needs perks or passive abilities to better attune your character to your playstyle, like a passive perk that decreases your damage but gives you a stronger shield or a weak shield for more damage
Machete sucks ass, if you're just starting the game quickly switch it to the katana or hammer
this game is basically pay to win with how you can straight up pay to get weapons you want. Played it for about 5 hours and I think its trash...really a shame since I actually really liked the artstyle and music.

Hardly, everything in the season pass is just coins and crafting materials for cosmetics
If you place high enough and score a few kills the game rewards you with plenty of low quality crafting materials which can be combined to medium quality for different weapons
Also the starter weapons are great for pure damage, the other craftable weapons force you to play differently to get their damage boosts

LiD was over-run and everybody who was top rank pretty much did hack, luckily it was still playable because it's single player.
Got a couple of wins but I feel like I'm fighting the controls more than anything else. Matches being pretty quick is a big appeal, but the amount of time spent showing off characters cosmetics at the start kneecaps it. The female host is wasted in this game. Live service games like this are cancer.

Pretty much you didn't have to spend a dime or even grind until floor 25ish.
After that the game just needed to be grinded out to reach floor 40. I remember reading some article about some moron being happy he spent money on the game on one boss, not knowing that you could throw mushrooms at it.
I've seen people running floors 100+(which is just grindy extra content). They spend actual money on revive tokens because regardless of your gear, enemies still oneshot you. And everybody is running guns with the headshot stickers at that point which makes it boring as frick.
I'm just glad Trigger Happy only works on the player and not NPCs. Also the helmet decal working on players isn't needed cos they aim loosely at center mass.
That said getting crit in the limbs is kinda lame if your armour isn't good at stopping bullets.
The biggest problem with POST GAME (thankfully not needed to beat most of the game) is just the rarity distribution of key decals on the premium gacha roll, and how they had to prevent stacking normal/premium on problem decals by making them exclusively gacha. Then the economy takes a dive too with too much compartmentalising; Money, Blood, SPlith AND REcyc are too many currencies for what they get on their own. Blood/Spl should be the same and recycling should get you it, then a lot of Hernia and decal gacha pulling would be solved.
I haven't beaten the base 40 floors, but I felt bothered by how little RECYC points you get for scrapping blueprints; whats the "intended" way to get moer after floor 40?
Not him, but your best bet is to grind when there is an event of free revives, the game is literal bullshit, and has "haters" the devs have given super OP gear to on 40+. It's utter bullshit that is designed to kill you so you spend money on the damn game.
And some floors require you to kill all the enemies to go up the elevator, so you can't just sprint past all of them.
Also upgrade your gear.
These homosexuals unironically have no grace. You do not need anything from REcyc but the weapons, and they're cheaper than the armour by a mile for a reason. KC has no use after you bought your loadout from the shop and while it's on cooldown it just gets stolen through TDM as a trickle.
Since less than 100 people are playing LiD lately, the raiding is at an all time low, so you can still keep getting richer on F2P as long as you don't overextend and die.
Dev haters are a joke if you're actually properly geared, and most players sub-40 haters give tons of KC as well as boss metals now. 41F+ haters are mostly cheap KAMAS haters that died trying to cheese through so take anti-piercing, good armour and either slice them or just shoot them back. Trigger happy if you pull it makes things easy mode with near infinite ammo.
If you're dying at 41-50 quickly, you're probably weren't really finished with 31-40 either. People fluke through or abuse shrooms to get their rewards in the base game then don't realise they have to go back and honestly grind up a decent loadout with the materials they have available. Many won't even know you can "uncap" gear, and that getting them to T4 adds an easy 1000 ATK/DEF on each piece, making them ready for the next phase.
Farm KC especially Saturdays, get to the secret shops on Fridays/Sundays, buy the materials you need, upgrade. Done. No specific decals needed. Take a chance on 44CE for rare 6 star blueprints. Take advantage of the tower and don't just rush blindly up it.
As I tell some of my friends new to it: if you can grind out a max stat enchanted pickaxe in Minecraft, you can play LiD.
I'm grateful as frick for the advice anons, it's hard to get a simple answer for late-game stuff despite the game being 6years old by now.
Don't burn yourself out by grinding upgrade materials too much, for now just focus on upgrading ranged weapons and armor, melee weapons are obsolete for higher floors since almost all enemies, especially haters, can one shot you with a melee attack
I've noticed a spike with one-shot melee as soon as I got to 31 (although my gear was barely 3 tier at the time) but thanks for the heads-up, although it sucks about the time I spent upgrading my Muramasa for a melee option.
Melee weapons are still valuable for raids
Purchase guns with KC to go up floors, while you're waiting for the cooldown to buy them again you can go do raids, raids are good for leveling up weapons and the player characters don't have broken scaling like high floors do

Btw Saturdays you can farm a room on 4F? and get like 200k/hr in KC, which is four premium decal pulls an hour
1 Stars still get you what, like 1000 Recyc? More 10k for like 3 stars I think.
As a Lucky Star/All-Rounder around 40-60F I'm pulling in like 100k while also going for T5 materials and blood so I'm just passively being rich at this point, so I'll start getting more Recyc or start filling out my decal collection either way.
The thing though is

100k for a Tryptamine is pricey sure, but since I don't get a discount on that I imagine it would be key for F2P to farm with relative safety during this event.
But yeah, opening 12 chests in 31-40F and they're ALL fricking knight spear blueprints really fricking sucks since the RE value makes them costly to even pickup vs. KC boxes.

No. There were parts of Let.It.Die that I liked, but it being online-only soulshit with cash shop really killed it for me.

For anyone who DOESN'T know, Grasshopper didn't have anything to do with Deathverse. After being acquired by Gungho, GHM essentially split into two entities, the first retaining the original Grasshopper name and led by Suda and about 2-3 dozen original employees, and the second becoming Supertrick Games, who developed Deathverse. Supertrick is still owned by Gungho but Grasshopper is now operating under NetEase games and is currently in the process of remaking games for the IPs they own.

Just make the gameplay not an endless number creep. Like being naked should be closer to dark souls naked runs rather than "get hit once and you die instantly"

It's a solid gameplay loop and it's always there to return to. Deathverse on the other hand, plays more like something that's going to lose most of its initial playerbase before its first season ends.
