Id rather take unpromoted scout than bosc**t. I swear that malicious little piece of shit derives pleasure from watching me get tentacle raped by leeches
>It actually switches target the moment you are grabbed >Meanwhile driller just t-bags your dead body >Sc**t is on the other end of cave system and is currently falling to death because he hooked to the ceiling
You don't need to call him, he literally stops doing shit and starts shooting leech (or flying fricker) the moment you are grabbed (assuming you didn't ask him to mine some nitra on the other side of the cave in which case you are fricked case he is slow as frick, but that's on you)

To be fair I have seen bosco get hung up with the geometry at the top of the cave.
Some of the worst overclocks in the game (doublebarrel for shotgun, manual guidance cutoff for hurricane) were worked over and are now playable/fun. Doublebarrel is now all about blast damage and it melts guards and praets up close. Manual guidance cutoff is now called rocket barrage, an unbalanced overclock that makes it shoot relatively weak unguided missiles really fast.
Some other overclocks were also balanced. Plasmaburster missiles won't hit terrain as easily. Spinning death got more ammo. Shieldbattery booster gives you reduced shield recharge cooldown.
Other than OCs the most substantial change is Subata rework and input buffer for shooting. Subata got more weakpoint damage and it's mods were reshuffled. The input buffer makes rapid shooting semiauto weapons more consistent and as a result it feels smoother.
Scouts double barrel OC is now a proper boomstick
Gunners plasma missiles are actually good, and he has a new rapid fire general purpose OC that's fun
Drillers pistol got a upgrade tree rework with a fancy new tier 5 for sludge players, snowball got a buff
There's some other st uff
I didn't know the double barrel OC was considered shit, I've used it over others ever since I got it.

>free update >v b***hes and moans
Y'all are a bunch of gays.
Balancing shit takes time. You have to make a change and then actually use it for a while to see if it works how you think it will. That takes time. If they changed how shit worked everytime one of you shitters got yourselves killed you would be complaining even louder.
>Adds 2 new enemies, several lithophage clones, 1 mandatory season miniboss, and a cosmetic battle pass
If they put more effort into their updates such as adding unique and varied mission structures and a more in-depth and challenging metaprogression system, then maybe the game would be more fun to play for existing and veteran players
>and a more in-depth and challenging metaprogression system
They honestly need to scrap the generic perk system altogether and just add a unique perk tree for each class that contains actually interesting choices.
Best way to balance choices is to design them around specific playstyles. >High burst damage for quicker kills, less ammo and mobility >AoE for horde management, less firerate and damage >Inflict status effects/debuffs to provide support, less ammo and damage
Some of the overclocks are already good examples of such where you gain a boost in a stat in exchange for a reduction in another to encourage specific roles while not veering away from the main class role.
>actually interesting choices
Don't act like one loadout won't be the obvious best one.
I would say.. partially refresh the Shield system and player Armor upgrades, more perks that works around Shield, remake Shield Booster to streamline its use, should be alright for one of many features for the next big update.
The perks have a lot of cool choices, it's just that Dash, IW, Born Ready and Resupplier are all fricking broken. If you're running IW, you're probably also taking Vampire, so that's mandatory 5 perk slots taken on every loadout. The most variety you'll get to experience is if you're running a weapon with no reloads like the cryo cannon, because you can actually pick one of your perks.
Nerf all of the OP perks and make them baseline already.
They're hazardous but probably not in the way the devs intended. Getting dragged to the Stingtail itself would be a blessing in most cases, but instead this wily little bastard will catapult your dwarf across the cave out of position and probably shatter your shins for good measure. I honestly don't mind it because it's spiced up some encounters, but it could use a tuning up.
>nobody notices stingtail hanging out on a ceiling ledge >someone gets grabbed and gored in the middle of a huge swarm >I was sc**t and had to take a few seconds figuring out how to even grapple up to them since it was so far up
I love stingtails.
What happened to the stingtail grab? I'm pretty sure they showed it grabbed dorfs like a leech and pinning them on its horn but I've never seen that happen. It just yanks people from across the cave and even if they land on top of it they don't get impaled. I even started taking heightened senses to see if you can break out of the stun like with the other grabs, but it literally doesn't happen.
The cosmetics are kind of shit too unless you like some serial killer robot mask.
I do wonder if the final helmet on the season pass will glow if used in conjunction with last seasons paint job though.
But yeah this is more of the same shit, fought the new boss thing, wondered why nothing was working and it turns out that you shouldn't suck up the foam as it's going to the boss or it wont ever touch it. In the moment the hole opens, that crit spot is so fricking high it took like 2 bullets to kill the thing.
>DUDE I just got a +1% fire rate and -1% accuracy OC for my pistol!!
Just add randomly generated overclocks already - the loot system in this game is incredibly unexciting. Even the cosmetics you get as random drops during missions are usually strictly worse then the guaranteed stuff you can get through the battlepass.
I will, in hindsight. Robots were annoying because they forced me to use fire loadouts "just in case" they showed up, but S3-4 has been total boring bullshit with no thought behind it past taking control away and forcing you to be a janny.
what kind of absolutely brained moron would be dumb enough to try and prop up a view this contrarian
no matter how meh you think rockpox is it is nowhere near as offensive as robots
Robots were fun. There, I said it. Hacking a ball droid and having it fight for you is a pleasure. And tough enemies who actually require you to use your power strike and not just cruise control with your main weapon? Might as well just admit that requires too much brain power for Ganker.
this. they also permanently nerfed the speed of all robots towards the end of season 2, I loved flicking to spastic murderbots but nooooo muh haz 3 playerbase
The 'season' idea was a mistake because it teaches people to anticipate very large changes and a list of new features, and if you can't deliver on that each time you shouldn't call them seasons at all.
You know, looking at how the current updates have been and the trend we've been seeing, I'm of the personal opinion that DRG's success was essentially a fluke. I don't think the devs really know what makes the game actually fun. That publisher event they had to show off those shitty games they were supporting (only the facility team-game seemed of any possible worth?) only furthers to strengthen my sentiment.
I think we're just seeing that the current model they have is unsustainable for what they would like to envision. The first few seasons they were running on its initial success and now that they've dipped into their reserves to make seasons with very little monetization, it's likely killing their development.
>I think we're just seeing that the current model they have is unsustainable for what they would like to envision.
I wonder how long will it take for them to actually admit that. People have realized this shitty model since Season 1. Seriously making new frameworks and paintjobs for each weapon/armor every season that can mix and match? Only a lunatic would believe they can continue forever.
The problem is that they’re hitting the bloat phase of a co-op game’s lifecycle.
They get diminishing returns for each addition, and it exponentially increases the busywork in a game that frankly has too much already.
Once the inevitable queen glyphid season is done, they ought to work on a sequel so they can either wipe the slate clean, or come up with a more manageable system. If they don’t, they’re looking at either stagnating or becoming a payday 2 tier bloated nightmare, albeit with no pay2win bullshit.
I will not look at your cosmetics. I will not notice your pickaxe customization. I will barely discern your class and the first couple of letters of your username.
I think they know exactly what makes DRG fun, but they face the same problems many other developers face: They built the game on spaghetti code and now it's a pain in the ass to add new shit, so they are fatigued and just truck along.
Don't get me wrong, when the game initially came out, it was both fun and cool as hell playing and exploring what was a unique concept that combined horde shooter with procedurally generated sandbox mining with a low-poly aesthetic featuring futuristic dwarves, but like many games the charm eventually falls off once you've learned and discover most of what the game provides, so then keeping people playing comes down to variety in replayability
Honestly I think the update was substantial enough, even though no new weapons were added, the overclock changes and especially the subata update have re-invigorated a lot of options for me.
I do honestly hope this is the second to last update, I feel like one more significant content drop or round of polish will be enough. Hell, this game was enough for me when I bought it 4 years ago. How much does it really need before it becomes too much anyway? I feel we're dangerously close.
>even though no new weapons were added, the overclock changes and especially the subata update have re-invigorated a lot of options for me.
it's an update. But the scope was still too limited to even call it a "season". Early Access updates and U32/33 btfo S4. S4 is somewhere around U34 which the devs themselves even admitted it was a "Modest" update.
Pretty much. I appreciate the update but there needed to be more to justify another season. Maybe they'll add more later down the line, but I have a feeling they plan on sunseting this game soon after another year.
Even the steam forum normies are noticing this game has a "toxic positivity" problem
You can't say anything critical about the game without some nolife tard scoffing at you, and the direction the game's going in is not as fun as "classic" Deep Rock used to be
I don't like that the game is a "live service" product, I wish they released some sort of "DRG Classic" thats just vanilla and doesn't have any live service bullshit attached to it
You want to play every major update separately in solo mode?
In a way I understand, Early access games often have a problem where the game goes through phases of changes and people lose their favourite version of the game in the process. Very few games give you free access to legacy versions once they're gone.
Well, that's the thing. 28 is your favourite, every other update might have their own fans. You'd have to do all of them.

28 was the introduction of EDD and endgame overclocks as well as the perk system we are using until now. Everything after that was simple bonus content (+biome, + weapons, more cosmetics, etc.) but ultimately they don't significantly change the way the game is played. In a sense, U28 was when the game had reached its peak, plus it was before the cosmetics bloat in U29
Mission Tier List: >S tier >Mining Expedition, Point Extraction
Purely skill based. No waiting (except for the pod at the end of PE), so the time it takes to complete depends completely on how well you play and how efficient you are. >A tier >Elimination
Similar to top, but tier lower because Dreadnought can be annoying as frick to fight against, especially Solo. >B tier >Egg Hunt, On-site Refining, Salvage Operation
Either needs waiting or requires spacing out things on harder difficulties (eggs). Get annoying when you play them a lot. Especially stuff like Salvage Operation where you have to stand under the radar/in-the zone 2 times in a row and then wait AGAIN at the end. >C tier >Escort Duty
Waiting for Doretta to do shit - the quest. Can be sped up if you know what you are doing but still, it involves waiting and sitting on her ass. Also bugged so that only one dwarf can repair her at the time. >D tier >... >Absolute Shit Tier >Industrial Sabotage
Waiting with hacking and setting up connection is annoying, topped off with absolutely garbage boss fight that is pure shit and not enjoyable to play at all. Depending on weapon types, some Dwarves deal almost 0 damage to it as well. Especially fun as a last mission on EDD with 2x damage danger.
>requires spacing out things on harder difficulties
lol this moron cant even pull 6 eggs at once, hit the button and end the mission before the swarms even end hahaha
Refinery sucks because making pipes can be really ass without driller or engi. Morkite mining sucks because it's long maps and if you ever miss too many you will be backtracking. And you putting mini MULEs and drilldozer on bottom just tells me you're bad at video games.
>Refinery sucks because making pipes can be really ass without driller or engi.
How do you manage to assemble a team of 4 without either of those?
Besides, making pipes is still often managable without them if the terrain generation isn't wonky
>Morkite mining sucks because it's long maps and if you ever miss too many you will be backtracking.
Morkite Missions are pretty straightforward and if you missed some you must be moronic, you can even see the veins in complete darkness
I've had missions where I was solo or we didn't have a driller and it forced me or us to manually dig frickton of rock. But then every time there's driller it's just the most braindead straight lines like the mission just cannot be balanced around for the random gen. And defending the pipes is not fun because the bugs arent even really attacking them, it just picks 2 random sections per pipe and you go there like npc and bugs roleplay like they care about the pipe and then you go and wait again and when it's done you wait even more. Why I am okay with mini mule waiting it's because there you have a losing condition.
Oh and I forgot to complain how boring it is to build the pipes after they have been laid down like this whole mission is just designed to make you waste time.
The only miserable pipes are ones where you have to go straight up. And even those ones you can still technically get there without digging upward. Building a quarry-like pipe that climbs up the wall like a fricking goat is fun but I do agree that the need to build it afterward is a bit tedious. That's why you can work together to speed it up or have Bosco do it all.
As long as the layout is built to be fun and interconnected, the act of waiting for bugs is softened by the fun of pipesurfing around and managing the swarm.
The best drillers in refinery know that the fun pipes are the best pipes (no I'm not referring to rollercoasters) because they let them become a part of how the predominant combat space is laid out and traversal between the pipes instead of 3 autistic no-fun tunnels of going from point A to point B.
>Refinery sucks because making pipes can be really ass without driller or engi. >he goes for direct and efficient pipework instead of making a bug genocide theme park
Let your pipes be influenced by the terrain, don't force the terrain to conform to your pipes
The update is really fricking underwhelming and yes, the game has a shitty "positivity" problem where the fanbase memed itself into thinking that "DRG community is just SO NICE and SO WELCOMING".
Maybe I was imagining things but when I was foaming, my team just had the vacuum going so the foam would get sucked in before it could land on the corrupter
It's that. I made this mistake as the person vacumming, it looks like you're sucking it up off the enemy but you're not, it's slightly off from reaching it.
Joined a game where people weren't even foaming it. The gunner kept shooting it with his pistol and it was doing damage to the gray healthbar. I'm not making this up.
All the performance issues started with 35 (launch of Season 1 afaik) and they've barely done anything to help it. Lithophage destruction still lags the frick out of everyone, the UE4 shader cache shit lags the frick out of me in particular every few days, and I had to get a few mods (that are now out of date) to reduce the particle spam.
indeed. I could play the game at 130fps 99% of the time on a 6700k and now on a 12700k shit lags.
sometimes I've had drops to fricking 7 fps, insane shit
Maybe other games that recieve constant updates spoiled me, but DRG really is lazy about that shit.
The issue is that maps are procedurally generated and at this point i know what will be the general layout of each mission (eg. On-site Refining is almost always a big main cave and a smaller side cave) and i keep noticing identical structures too. There needs to be more to mix shit up and this update wasn't enough. This is not "new Season" tier. This is what other games do basically in a single smaller update.
No, it’s bad because it attracts faux-wholesome white knights, that whine about anyone criticising the game even when the devs have proven themselves to have higher standards than what they’re currently releasing.
Refocus on dwarves mining.
Bugs were coincidental.
This actually sounds good, idk why, but as soon as I read "dwarves mining" I immediately remembered all the good times I had when I first played.
Maybe at some point, "deal with bugs to mine" has become "mine to deal with bugs" for me, not sure if it's the same for anyone else?
Yeah - there's been entire content patches dedicated to combat.
Mining is secondary now. The soul is secondary. It'll only get worse. More guns, more guns, more guns!
This is why I mine Gold.
I love mining. I also love shooting.
I want more mining.
Yeah - there's been entire content patches dedicated to combat.
Mining is secondary now. The soul is secondary. It'll only get worse. More guns, more guns, more guns!
I like this idea. I want a season where there's a gold bulk detonator's worth of a mineral in spots and you need to use some special tool to become a mini Doretta and drill it all up, or something.
Anyone who pushes the objectives and does not mine Gold Bulk Detonator Gold in my lobby gets banned.
>I want a season where
That's the thing. You can't do that now. The cycle has begun. The people who just want a dwarf/bug shooter are already here and shit is now fricked.
Its basically multiculturalism in vidya form. Multiple cultures feeding off of a single entity, demanding that their own wants are satisfied, and all cultures wants are mutually exclusive.
Best we can hope for is a mixed patch that satiates all but satisfies none, then a meek end to the game.
The cancer has taken root.
This.
The crowd they've attracted by making it an ADD focused shooter has been absolutely detrimental.
Look at servers. They kick people for mining (FOR MINING) and not using "meta builds".
Terrible focus propagated by terrible people. The cycle repeats. Early days were fun. Outsiders saw us having fun. Joined game but didnt have fun. Demanded game change so they can have fun. No one has fun.
Yeah. Usually play on Haz4 because of this. Not that I can't handle or carry on Haz5, but bugs become too big of a distraction. Occasionally it's fun to kill thousand bugs per dwarf, but I don't that shit for every mission.
>lithophages are now their own separate mission type so you don't have to suffer meteor showers constantly >expand on classes more and maybe even make alternate class equipment like a rappel for Gunner or a cannon sentry for Engineer >more unique weapons >more unstable overclocks because something like Fat Man or Hyperprop is more interesting than "get two more grenades"
The core gameplay is incredible but there's been a lot of added fat that could be trimmed off.
Stingtails should have been a rhino-like charger enemy instead of a guaranteed death if they catch you from above. Two of them can just yank you back and forth in a swarm until you die if you can't punch through their armor fast enough.
new overclocks and the rebalancing of older shit ones is what gets people talking and playing, just look at the discussions about rocket barrage / double barrel / plasma missiles
Mission where you drive dotty around to find isolated caves of morkite. You also need to stop by oil shale hot spots or else your driller is going on a very long dig when you run out.
Optional extra Dotty contains a bunch of extra ammo racks/a turret you can sit in but the bugs constantly escalate like point extraction on steroids.
Motherlode mission
Dig really, REALLY deep to reach tons of gold and decent amounts of ore.
Biggest concentration of ore at the deepest part Guarded by ancient bugzilla(s) the size of six detonators glued together.
honestly, I have to agree.
I was one defending it a bit because I thought the previous ones were more than ok, so I could settle for a lighter one this time, but from the gameplay perspective there isn't fricking anything to latch on.
boots are great but very rare, and you can make them common or you break the game. the new spawns add difficulty (which I appreciate) but need to be nerfed somehow, although I have the vague impression it got slightly easier than the very first days of release, maybe they did a stealth update, I don't know.
the new mini-boss is cool but it would have needed it's own version of elimination. as a rare spawn it isn't enough.
the randomized option might be cool but they fricked it up in some key aspects: 1 you can't see the loadout you get until you are in the mission 2 random equipments are taken from your set from what I heard, so it isn't even actually random 3 it randomizes perks too which fricking sucks when you factor point 1 and you might end up in a mission with an ass combination
then I know it's personal and I get why they do it, but it's beyond infuriating that towards the end of season 3 you got way too many fricking meteors all the time, and now when you actually need them, they are rare
I guess I'll grind the unlockables, but there isn't fricking nothing pulling you into it this time
A lithophage mission involving destroying multiple spikes and taking out a corruptor would have been cool. Hopefully they add something like that afterwards since the lithophage content will probably be sent to the useless rare spawn pool like the rival events if they don't.
It really is. I've got 140 hours with friends and really can't imagine putting any more in. If I wasn't playing with friends the entirety of those 140 hours I doubt I would have made it to 40.
>ROCK AND STONE TO THE BONE HAHAHA >PLAYING WITH FRIENDS IS AMAZING
so is every fricking other game with co-op capabilities. redditors are the only reason this game blew up.
I need to see if I am a schizo or not. I remember playing this years ago around the time it first came out, and I can almost distinctly remember the cave generation was much more complex than it is now. The caves now are all simple and predictable, making every mission feel really similiar, but I remember way back then missions took a lot longer and caves were way bigger, complex, and resources much more spread out. Am I misremembering things, imagining things were worse when I was a noob, or did they really nerf cave generation at some point?
>salvage/black box/up-link etc >shield always down because of a gunner and/or driller spraying everywhere plus gunner not using his shield until he's personally in trouble
axes(no contest)
shredders(busted)
cryo nades(frick macteras)
sticky nades(call me crazy but i find 6x little fear bombs more useful than cluster's RNG spread or leadburster)
Boomerang (AoE clears little shits so you don't have to waste time on them)
Shredders (Literally always gets 100% value out of it, as opposed to another grenade which might miss, only do half damage, stuff like that)
Ripper (funniest grenade in the game, dont care about usability)
Don't even remember what I run on Gunner lol
Eh in my experience even throwing 2 in a tight tunnel when a whole swarm is coming barely does anything. Some grunts are half dead, bigger bugs are mostly unarmed. I don't get it, it just refuses to do any damage.
>implying the dwarves are fed anything more than onions and recycled food
Space food delivery ain't cheap and management sure isn't going to order you a space pizza.
Game needs new classes.
Tech-specialist- Can deploy spotlights that will automatically illuminate enemies/areas where the dwarfs are. Spotlight increases damage done to illuminated enemies, and have a slowly depleting battery so they aren't infinite.
Can deploy anti-gravity beacons to give the team low gravity in a large area.
Medic- Deploys healing/teleportation beacons which allow teammates to recall to it's location. Has a life-stealing gun that can drain enemy health and grant temporary health/shield boost to allies on kills.
Prospector: can "ping" the map to locate ores and other items. Has a deployable mule that will automatically collect ores left on the ground and can be used to deposit ore manually.
Foreman: Can plant a deep rock banner that gives nearby allies damage reduction and increases their accuracy. Can deploy a temporary Bosco for a few minutes. This Bosco cannot revive though.
>2023 >Miners can't drill minerals and resources with his drills >Scouts still can't use a grappling hook to hang from a wall and mine a resource safely by hanging there
This game was a mistake
>WHAT YOU DON'T LIKE EATING SHIT? YOU RATHER EAT PIZZA EVERYDAY? WHERE IS THE VARIETY MAN AT LEAST INCLUDE SOME HUMAN SHIT IN YOUR LIFE. VARIETY IS THE SPICE OF LIFE
I don't consider them to be shit though. People say it over and over again without really elaborating on why they don't which is why I don't really get it.
rockpox just shouldn't be a mandatory secondary objective and any lithophage mission shouls have it's optional secondary being cleaning up a meteor. at the very least they should make the litho spikes drop plaguehearts, theyre fricking worthless
>just wait for the 30mins timer and cross your fingers that the next one won't have it for the assignment youre trying to do
what a sensible human being unbiased by fanboy wiener gargling you are
That's enough time to play a different mission. Do you play this game because you like it or do you play it because it provides you a set of objectives to cross off a list?
>he doesn't remember how often the prospector and data deposit spawned in s1/2 >he doesn't remember lithophage meteor spawn rate before meteor showers existed >hey look at the assignments its all seasonal things >industrial sabotage now appearing in dives and assignments >rockpox waves are no longer restricted to lithophage missions >every 30 minute rotation a large chunk of the available missions are infested with the seasonal shit.
Its not literally every mission but it happens so often that its just been exhausting. They want to make sure people make progress on the season pass so the game is deliberately shoving it into your face to make sure that people who seldom actually play the game have a high chance of seeing it, but if youre actually the kind of person who plays a videogame more than twice a month, you'll grow weary of this shit. We don't even have downtime between seasons, its just nonstop.
I don’t mind either of them but they’re too overused, the robots were a fun change of pace from the bugs until they forced them down our throats for a year. Now it’s the opposite extreme where they’re too rare imo. The rockpox is in the same situation now unfortunately and I imagine they’ll be completely wiped come next season for the next gimmick
I don't know, when I played killing floor 2 and they introduced EDARS it was fricking cancer. It is more variety objectively but they just didn't feel good to fight and once again they were enemies that locked you in place like rockpox and shot lasers at you like rivals.
Didn't the missile launcher and scout shotty get one of their greens reworked? faster missiles and also for the scout it became a burst AoE overclock, and they're both red now? How are they? they look kinda interesting. Guessing the "tierlist" of overclocks is the same. Curious to see if the subata is majorly different now.
new missiles are fun but it still has the airsoft sound effect and it chews right through ammo. the boomstick with the new double barrel does 100aoe shockwave + 100 more if you use the base mod upgrade. it works but still why even use the boomstick if youre not going for powder
Yes I did. I bought this game and every update has made it a bit worse. I bought a product and the creators decided to come in my house every or so and make my product worse and worse. I couldn't say or do anything about it because it was free!
If you're getting filtered by the mini-game you can just come out and say it. Nobody is going to judge you for that.

So weird man. Did you also get the update where they added a snake machine and every time you wanted to use the microwave on the rig you had to play 32 levels of snake? Im glad there isn't actually any real content and just more cosmetics and early 2000's mobile phone games being forced into the game!

See I didn't get that one. I knew we were getting different updates.
>UM YOU WANT A FIRING RANGE TO TRY OUT YOUR WEAPONS INSTEAD OF HAVING TO LAUNCH AND LOAD AND QUIT SEVERAL MISSSIONS >UUHHHHHH FLAPPY BIRD ARCADE MACHINE!!!!!
>oh. You're complaining that the randoweisser doesn't actually randomize your loadout? >just make a mod for it bro
This sort of cop-out is unacceptable. Just because modding exists does not mean the devs get a free pass to not needing to put in effort
Bro, there's a loadout randomizer button in addition to randoweisser. The beer is just for people who want to frick around for a single mission and not frick up their permanent loadouts (if you really actually keep the max 6 loadouts occupied for some godforsaken reason)
>bro just dedicate an entire of your limited loadout slots to getting around a bug that the devs arent fixing >bro just get a mod to give you more loadout slots >bro modding will fix everything
Frick off. The devs are getting paid to work, I expect them to do work.
Rimworld price gouges for sure, never fricking going on sale... but I've probably gotten my money's worth by now regardless, and I've barely even touched mods yet.
I'd gladly pay for a major expansion. 3 new areas, a new primary and secondary each, more enemy variety (there's lots of enemies but most have the same basic body type) and I'd really like it for there to be more lore to the overall universe of drg such as different races and character interactions between the different classes. Would happily pay 10-15 for that
also the guy who said we should have separate perks for each class is totally right. I don't mind a few generic perks everyone can get being a thing but there should be class specific perks.
I played both assignments, the weeklies and a few odd missions and found 1 rocket boots and 0 plague-heart bosses, am I just unlucky or what?
I want more missions with pipelines, I also saw a mod for Escort that added an option to make the Drilldozer leave a pipe trail, would make the mode way more fun IMO
>Super EDD >6 stage mission >Rewards reset once a month >7 dwarves
Difficulty starts at Haz 5.5 and increases by 0.5 with every stage >3 modifiers >Completing all stages rewards you with vast amounts of every mineral, gold, and several cosmetics and weapon overclocks
>Finally find my first jet boot crate >All three other dwarves just grab the hacking console for a minute and give up again >Solve the minigame first try
I'm not even a zoomer who played flappy bird, how moronic is the average gamer these days?
Finally fought a corruptor for the first time. I like it, a lot more engaging than just doing janny duty on the meteors. Some of the attacks need better tells though, they basically two-shot on haz 5
how the frick do i get good at haz4+ >hazard 1/2 >if you die in this you might as well uninstall >hazard 3 >basically "normal" mode, but still too easy >hazard 4 >the same as hazard 3 90% of the time with the remaining 10% being some insane bullshit >hazard 5 >constant stream of enemies, if you don't have crowd control you're fricking dead, if you accidentally stumble upon some combat event like the nemesis or bet-c you're fricking dead, if you don't have any nitra spawns you're fricking dead
btw the corruptors are fricking moronic and it feels like pure rng whether or not you manage to break their armor
im gonna assume you might be a total moron and ask if youve turned your FOV up as high as it goes, makes a big difference
otherwise practice spatial awareness and try harder to use the sound cues
also literally just walk away from the bugs, its just haz 4 ffs
Just play shootan games more. Haz 3 and below are baby moron mode, haz 4 is normal, haz 5 is medium, and modded is the real hard.
A few tricks that will improve your general performance though >shooting stops you from sprinting, but if your feet aren't on the ground you maintain your current velocity
This also applies to other slowdown effects like shooting gunners primaries, pinging things, using grapple hook, etc >shots loaded into a gun are available as soon as the number changes in the HUD, so if you cancel the rest of the reload animation you can begin shooting again faster.
Think of it like an active reload, some weapons get better reload cancels than others, and for some doing a reload cancel takes longer than just watching the rest of the animation
In many modes the game sends hordes periodically and as the time goes by these hordes get bigger and bigger. Eventually the hordes will become so big that you just have to ask yourself how is this balanced. So lots of it is just about doing the missions really fast (in solo). With full party you will have engineer that just gets double of everyones kills.
>as the time goes by these hordes get bigger and bigger
false, except for PE.
In Point Extractions, the delay between swarms decreases as time passes, to a point where you essentialyl have a constant stream of bugs if you're too slow. Simultaneously, PE also has constant smalle waves, also on a decreasing timer. These waves do increase in size after the 9th wave, meaning after about 9 minutes.
Upgrade your suit with every perk so that it gets bonus stats.
If you aren't gunner, make sure you have escape routs and don't get so focused on a task you get tunnel vision.
The longer you frick around, the more enemies come after you, the closer you come to running out of ammo.
haz 5? Literally don't stop moving during combat. If you stop, you get hit, and then you're dead. Always make sure you have somewhere to run to. Use the dash active perk.
>shoot the Corruptor with everything >minimal damage >tell Bosco to shoot it with missiles >two-shots it
It was Haz5 Critical damage mission, but still. Lethal enemies as well, so I got downed a ton with the corruptors attack. Didn't even get a good look for how it works because it was oneshotting me every time it hit.
You have you probably just didn't clock it since its just some grey slug things that die if you look at them. Sort of like the plague worm guys that show up in infested areas.
>tfw killed my 2k lootbug today and game never said anything
I have done 6 of them in 150 hours according to perk menu, as the other anon said you probably just missed it. It's also very funny with volatile guts.
Too bad miner manual only shows kill count and not amount of specific mutators completed
Battlepasses are fricking gay and should be replaced with Reward tracks instead.
>no expiration date >if you don't play for a while and multiple tracks have been added, you simply choose which one to focus on >once you completed a track, it becomes repeatable with a renewable reward (different for each track)
iron will is a crutch. I can't imagine ever giving up field medic or dash (tools that will keep me alive and let me quickly revive teammates, thus avoiding a failure state) for a perk that's only ever useful in a failure state.
I use strong arm on my gunner to throw flares farther to find more optimal points to place ziplines. Also use sweet tooth because he has the highest max hp and benefits most. And even resupplier too cause I need that ammo now and saves me the reload after.
Friendly feels almost necessary for driller. But yeah, Iron will can save games so it very much is the most useful.
>Why is everyone jerking to iron will? Those 12 seconds barely do anything >Check wiki >"Obtaining health via any method during "Iron Will" will prevent the down from occurring after the last stand duration"
Fricking lying descriptions
its not even only that, i hold my iron will until everyone on my team goes down, then pop it and get one instant ress with field medic and another before going down.
the vampire + iron will combo is nice but saving entire runs because of the field medic + iron will combo is invaluable especially on scout
how the frick do i stop getting skill gapped by the stupid ceiling crawlers that require a dedicated perk to be able to do anything about if you dont spot them first?
For you.
>Nobody cared what I mined until I put on the mask
bosco a cute
bosco is a useless Black person
Scouts wish they were as useful as BosGOD
Both are equally useless. Stop bringing Bosco into missions.
Skill issue.
Id rather take unpromoted scout than bosc**t. I swear that malicious little piece of shit derives pleasure from watching me get tentacle raped by leeches
Bosco has the lowest killcount of dwarves on Hoxxes. It's one of the friendliest entitys on the planet.
Still better than 90% of theammates.
>It actually switches target the moment you are grabbed
>Meanwhile driller just t-bags your dead body
>Sc**t is on the other end of cave system and is currently falling to death because he hooked to the ceiling
You can call bosco for help when you get grabbed.
Really though I'm using bosco just to mine minerals or harass a large target across a large area.
See the difference in Bosco can take upgrades to be less useless
Is there a mod that replaces bosco's noises with anime voice lines yet? I'm pretty sure there was one for Doretta.
https://mod.io/g/drg/m/m4-sopmod-ii-boscos-voice
bosdicky ToT!
oh god they're multiplying
Make it go BOOM
At least jetboots are fun on the 10% chance they spawn
I wouldnt mind if the next season is only like 3/4 months away but it will definitely be at least until december before season 5
The balance changes were great.
Qrd?
I didn't know the double barrel OC was considered shit, I've used it over others ever since I got it.
Why would you use an OC that forces you to use twice as much ammo for like +10% damage?
Scouts double barrel OC is now a proper boomstick
Gunners plasma missiles are actually good, and he has a new rapid fire general purpose OC that's fun
Drillers pistol got a upgrade tree rework with a fancy new tier 5 for sludge players, snowball got a buff
There's some other st uff
>free update
>v b***hes and moans
The problem is we have basically two perk trees. One for your dwarf, and one for weapons.
>actually interesting choices
Don't act like one loadout won't be the obvious best one.
Best way to balance choices is to design them around specific playstyles.
>High burst damage for quicker kills, less ammo and mobility
>AoE for horde management, less firerate and damage
>Inflict status effects/debuffs to provide support, less ammo and damage
Some of the overclocks are already good examples of such where you gain a boost in a stat in exchange for a reduction in another to encourage specific roles while not veering away from the main class role.
Nerf all of the OP perks and make them baseline already.
>not even mentioning field medic.
field medic is probably the most used active perk. easily an essential pick
They can’t. I dunno how big their zoomer player base is, but zoomers fricking love battlepasses
Seriously what is it with zoomers and season passes? I've never even looked them after playing warzone, fortnite, and apex with friends over the years
Modern games are so devoid of fun, that zoomies need the carrot on a stick to keep playing.
I have a friend that refuses to play games without achievements
how bout you metaprogress my dick in-depth
Stingtails suck
They're hazardous but probably not in the way the devs intended. Getting dragged to the Stingtail itself would be a blessing in most cases, but instead this wily little bastard will catapult your dwarf across the cave out of position and probably shatter your shins for good measure. I honestly don't mind it because it's spiced up some encounters, but it could use a tuning up.
>nobody notices stingtail hanging out on a ceiling ledge
>someone gets grabbed and gored in the middle of a huge swarm
>I was sc**t and had to take a few seconds figuring out how to even grapple up to them since it was so far up
I love stingtails.
What happened to the stingtail grab? I'm pretty sure they showed it grabbed dorfs like a leech and pinning them on its horn but I've never seen that happen. It just yanks people from across the cave and even if they land on top of it they don't get impaled. I even started taking heightened senses to see if you can break out of the stun like with the other grabs, but it literally doesn't happen.
just started yesterday, any recommendations?
Reccomendations for what exactly? Classes? Weapons? Hazard level?
The cosmetics are kind of shit too unless you like some serial killer robot mask.
I do wonder if the final helmet on the season pass will glow if used in conjunction with last seasons paint job though.
But yeah this is more of the same shit, fought the new boss thing, wondered why nothing was working and it turns out that you shouldn't suck up the foam as it's going to the boss or it wont ever touch it. In the moment the hole opens, that crit spot is so fricking high it took like 2 bullets to kill the thing.
the cosmetic tree weapons are utter shit, it's just base stock with some litophage dropped on
>DUDE I just got a +1% fire rate and -1% accuracy OC for my pistol!!
Just add randomly generated overclocks already - the loot system in this game is incredibly unexciting. Even the cosmetics you get as random drops during missions are usually strictly worse then the guaranteed stuff you can get through the battlepass.
Apologize
I will, in hindsight. Robots were annoying because they forced me to use fire loadouts "just in case" they showed up, but S3-4 has been total boring bullshit with no thought behind it past taking control away and forcing you to be a janny.
No. I'll take lithophage over robots any day.
As long as that dogshit mission type exists, I will never.
what kind of absolutely brained moron would be dumb enough to try and prop up a view this contrarian
no matter how meh you think rockpox is it is nowhere near as offensive as robots
>Spawns 3 Nemesis within 10 seconds of the mission starting
Nothing personnel kid
>S1-S2 robots
no
>beeline the new season's eyepatch
>nothing else in the entire tree is worth getting
I can't believe they had 8 months to think of something and just gave you AIDS decorations on the guns
Each new season both takes longer to release, and comes with less new content than the one before it. It's honestly pretty sad to see.
And takes the game further away from the fun gameplay loop of going mining with the boys. I just want to mine, not be a jannie.
The 'season' idea was a mistake because it teaches people to anticipate very large changes and a list of new features, and if you can't deliver on that each time you shouldn't call them seasons at all.
You better strap in, now that Embracer Group is in trouble
I will not look at your cosmetics. I will not notice your pickaxe customization. I will barely discern your class and the first couple of letters of your username.
Just me or the Pox hits harder now? A couple of worms in Haz5 can insta stun you and they drain a titanic chunk of hp if you dont spam the keys.
If they didn't know what made DRG fun they would've ruined it by now.
But they ARE ruining it.
Every update has made the game better.
8 man lobbies when?
I want 8 player lobbies with multiple primary objectives. One team has to go down into a cave while the other team does on-site refining.
https://mod.io/g/drg/m/more-players-balanced
Also pic related, if you don't want to use the sandbox save slot.
based pic, frick splitting playerbase, if they dont want to play modded they can leave
keep in mind some still only work if you host, while some like making nitra and gold shiny work anytime even if not host
Does swarm control work? I just want 2x dwarves and 2x bugs, but don't think the more player mod actually scales the enemy spawns.
it works
testing this with more players
steam://joinlobby/548430/109775244374092488/76561197962839239
workin
Cringe as frick. You guys are like trannies forcing your preferences on people who just want to normally play
just leave the server, troony, it's not hard
remember, you frickers demanded lobbies to be segregated, not us, now frick off
Honestly I think the update was substantial enough, even though no new weapons were added, the overclock changes and especially the subata update have re-invigorated a lot of options for me.
Yes I do agree. Ideally next update drops the season vernacular altogether.
Pretty much. I appreciate the update but there needed to be more to justify another season. Maybe they'll add more later down the line, but I have a feeling they plan on sunseting this game soon after another year.
Even the steam forum normies are noticing this game has a "toxic positivity" problem
You can't say anything critical about the game without some nolife tard scoffing at you, and the direction the game's going in is not as fun as "classic" Deep Rock used to be
I don't like that the game is a "live service" product, I wish they released some sort of "DRG Classic" thats just vanilla and doesn't have any live service bullshit attached to it
That's called Legacy mode, sweety
give me Deep Rock Early Access Update 28 and we'll talk
You want to play every major update separately in solo mode?
In a way I understand, Early access games often have a problem where the game goes through phases of changes and people lose their favourite version of the game in the process. Very few games give you free access to legacy versions once they're gone.
>You want to play every major update separately in solo mode?
no, just Early Access Update 28. I don't care about 1.0 and anything after.
In a sense, U28 was when the game had reached its peak, plus it was before the cosmetics bloat in U29
>live service
What's live service about it?
Mission Tier List:
>S tier
>Mining Expedition, Point Extraction
Purely skill based. No waiting (except for the pod at the end of PE), so the time it takes to complete depends completely on how well you play and how efficient you are.
>A tier
>Elimination
Similar to top, but tier lower because Dreadnought can be annoying as frick to fight against, especially Solo.
>B tier
>Egg Hunt, On-site Refining, Salvage Operation
Either needs waiting or requires spacing out things on harder difficulties (eggs). Get annoying when you play them a lot. Especially stuff like Salvage Operation where you have to stand under the radar/in-the zone 2 times in a row and then wait AGAIN at the end.
>C tier
>Escort Duty
Waiting for Doretta to do shit - the quest. Can be sped up if you know what you are doing but still, it involves waiting and sitting on her ass. Also bugged so that only one dwarf can repair her at the time.
>D tier
>...
>Absolute Shit Tier
>Industrial Sabotage
Waiting with hacking and setting up connection is annoying, topped off with absolutely garbage boss fight that is pure shit and not enjoyable to play at all. Depending on weapon types, some Dwarves deal almost 0 damage to it as well. Especially fun as a last mission on EDD with 2x damage danger.
>with 2x damage danger.
there's no such thing
https://deeprockgalactic.fandom.com/wiki/Mutators#Lethal_Enemies
doesn't really affect the Caretaker now, does it?
And bugs aren't the problem, so what's the point here?
>egg hunt that low
look at this knife eared chucklefrick. He only pulls one egg at a time
>requires spacing out things on harder difficulties
lol this moron cant even pull 6 eggs at once, hit the button and end the mission before the swarms even end hahaha
what did you expect from a faux-anime poster?
sex
with cute dwarfgirls
How did you manage to place Refining below Extraction, It is superior to Extraction in every way
You literally get to build your own rollercoaster park to battle the bugs in
You have to wait for liquid morkite to finish.
Any waiting is immediattely less fun.
Refinery sucks because making pipes can be really ass without driller or engi. Morkite mining sucks because it's long maps and if you ever miss too many you will be backtracking. And you putting mini MULEs and drilldozer on bottom just tells me you're bad at video games.
Forgive me for not wanting to clump together on top of Doretta/Uplink for half an hour
The best drillers in refinery know that the fun pipes are the best pipes (no I'm not referring to rollercoasters) because they let them become a part of how the predominant combat space is laid out and traversal between the pipes instead of 3 autistic no-fun tunnels of going from point A to point B.
> gay on Ganker assembles an all sc**t team and every single one of them wants to rush to the end of the cave without mining a single fricking thing.
Makes sense you fricking mongoloid. Go shit up some other game please.
>Refinery sucks because making pipes can be really ass without driller or engi.
>he goes for direct and efficient pipework instead of making a bug genocide theme park
Let your pipes be influenced by the terrain, don't force the terrain to conform to your pipes
Terrible list. Stop posting it in every thread.
The update is really fricking underwhelming and yes, the game has a shitty "positivity" problem where the fanbase memed itself into thinking that "DRG community is just SO NICE and SO WELCOMING".
Molly!
I still have no idea how to foam the mini-boss
I keep foaming and another guy keeps vaccuuming but the armor doesn't go down.
The update was rushed and is clearly buggy as frick.
Stingtails constantly yeet people outside the map.
They supposedly patched it and I haven't seen that happen since. It still needs some work, but mostly related to balance.
Maybe I was imagining things but when I was foaming, my team just had the vacuum going so the foam would get sucked in before it could land on the corrupter
Not sure what's happening there, but I also had the feeling that my foam sometimes doesn't remove shit if a teammate immediately sucks it up.
From what I've seen, you gotta wait for the foam to settle on the armor before you can start vaccuming it
Sucking it too early bugs it out somehow
The only bad thing about DRG updates is that every time the performance gets worse
Constant free releases are cancer to games. It attracts the worst gibsmedat gamerBlack folk in existence.
No, it’s bad because it attracts faux-wholesome white knights, that whine about anyone criticising the game even when the devs have proven themselves to have higher standards than what they’re currently releasing.
No, its bad because it attracts the worst gibsmedat gamerBlack folk in existence.
How would (You) make it better?
New enemies, new/reworked OCs, etc
maybe read the thread first
I do like the new enemies, indirect fire the way the infectors do it is a new thing, and the stingray exists I guess
Making the lithophage shit into an actual mission type alongside the side objectives that randomly show up.
Also new biomes next update please
Refocus on dwarves mining.
Bugs were coincidental.
>Refocus on dwarves mining
The devs have lost their way a bit.
I'd really like this.
Occasionally it's fun to kill thousand bugs per dwarf, but I don't that shit for every mission.
>lithophages are now their own separate mission type so you don't have to suffer meteor showers constantly
>expand on classes more and maybe even make alternate class equipment like a rappel for Gunner or a cannon sentry for Engineer
>more unique weapons
>more unstable overclocks because something like Fat Man or Hyperprop is more interesting than "get two more grenades"
Give me Goblin girl miners. I need em bros...
How about Gems?
Only if it's Pearl or Yellow Diamond.
Sauce, anon?
Dat gobbo sc**t. . .
Rival Elf Corp as alt skins.
add overclocks for c4,shield,flare gun and turret
new overclocks and the rebalancing of older shit ones is what gets people talking and playing, just look at the discussions about rocket barrage / double barrel / plasma missiles
SEX WITH SWARMERS
I thought that was erect wiener on the detonator.
too much futa champ
Mission where you drive dotty around to find isolated caves of morkite. You also need to stop by oil shale hot spots or else your driller is going on a very long dig when you run out.
Optional extra Dotty contains a bunch of extra ammo racks/a turret you can sit in but the bugs constantly escalate like point extraction on steroids.
Motherlode mission
Dig really, REALLY deep to reach tons of gold and decent amounts of ore.
Biggest concentration of ore at the deepest part Guarded by ancient bugzilla(s) the size of six detonators glued together.
>Have to excavation dig a huge hole straight down.
>Waves will come pouring down the sides after you.
Could be pretty fun actually.
Kinda sounds like escort missions exept more vertical.
female glyphids with huge breasts
today i had my very first 0 segment pipeline... bros, the dream is real...
honestly, I have to agree.
Hopefully they add something like that afterwards since the lithophage content will probably be sent to the useless rare spawn pool like the rival events if they don't.
>robots aren't fun
>poxbugs aren't fun
I appreciate the free updates but why can't they introduce fun enemies?
bugs are fun, i enjoyed this season's new bugs. they should add more bugs, i want to shoot more bugs. bugs.
Poxbugs are fun in theory. In practice
>Pox praeto

I like robots because they make flamer driller worthwhile. With a proper build you can melt these c**ts in seconds
its alright.
nothing special, which sucks, but the game in itself got slightly better, which makes it still the very best coop hordeshooter there is.
drg is one of the most mid games of all time and I will use every single thread as my platform to say so
well I unironically think drg is one of the most innovative games in the past 20 years
>is 21 years old
28 year old senile boomer
It really is. I've got 140 hours with friends and really can't imagine putting any more in. If I wasn't playing with friends the entirety of those 140 hours I doubt I would have made it to 40.
>ROCK AND STONE TO THE BONE HAHAHA
>PLAYING WITH FRIENDS IS AMAZING
so is every fricking other game with co-op capabilities. redditors are the only reason this game blew up.
140 hours isn't bad at all, not every game need to have your attention for 1000 hours
The whole point of the game is to play with your friends. Playing by yourself with random shitters nonstop is not the intended experience.
With that amount of nitra why would the scout ever need a platform?
What if my friends are shitters.
Just carry them
>mid
Go play fortnite or something zoomer
I need to see if I am a schizo or not. I remember playing this years ago around the time it first came out, and I can almost distinctly remember the cave generation was much more complex than it is now. The caves now are all simple and predictable, making every mission feel really similiar, but I remember way back then missions took a lot longer and caves were way bigger, complex, and resources much more spread out. Am I misremembering things, imagining things were worse when I was a noob, or did they really nerf cave generation at some point?
They've fricked with the cave gen various times but yeah I know what you mean, I feel the same way
>salvage/black box/up-link etc
>shield always down because of a gunner and/or driller spraying everywhere plus gunner not using his shield until he's personally in trouble
Favorite grenade for each class?
boomerang
cluster
nano bots or whatever
good old HE
Scout: cryo
Gunner: cluster
Engie: mines
Driller: neurotoxin
axes(no contest)
shredders(busted)
cryo nades(frick macteras)
sticky nades(call me crazy but i find 6x little fear bombs more useful than cluster's RNG spread or leadburster)
>axes(no contest)
he doesn't know
I'm gonna guess that you are the one that does not know
do you not use the wave cooker?
Boomerang (AoE clears little shits so you don't have to waste time on them)
Shredders (Literally always gets 100% value out of it, as opposed to another grenade which might miss, only do half damage, stuff like that)
Ripper (funniest grenade in the game, dont care about usability)
Don't even remember what I run on Gunner lol
Gunner grenades are kind of shit.
cluster grenade in confined tunnels is the best.
Eh in my experience even throwing 2 in a tight tunnel when a whole swarm is coming barely does anything. Some grunts are half dead, bigger bugs are mostly unarmed. I don't get it, it just refuses to do any damage.
>incendiary and leadburster are bad
holy frick what a terrible take
Bros... what the frick is that on the scrip's bottom right...
It's over...
>implying the dwarves are fed anything more than onions and recycled food
Space food delivery ain't cheap and management sure isn't going to order you a space pizza.
>S04
S04? I don't know what you mean
The classes are fine. Instead of new classes you should just improve upon the existing ones.
>2023
>Miners can't drill minerals and resources with his drills
>Scouts still can't use a grappling hook to hang from a wall and mine a resource safely by hanging there
This game was a mistake
mod it in, gay
unironically skill issue
I like rockpox and robots, I don't get why people don't. It's more variety and variety is the spice of life.
Then don't play lithophage missions if you don't like them. I don't like drilldozer missions, so I don't play them.
>just wait for the 30mins timer and cross your fingers that the next one won't have it for the assignment youre trying to do
what a sensible human being unbiased by fanboy wiener gargling you are
That's enough time to play a different mission. Do you play this game because you like it or do you play it because it provides you a set of objectives to cross off a list?
>You can't do both
have a nice day
>variety is the spice of life
>why don't you like 12 months of the same spice? Its variety!
Its a fricking mystery
you got robots and rockpox in every mission?
>he doesn't remember how often the prospector and data deposit spawned in s1/2
>he doesn't remember lithophage meteor spawn rate before meteor showers existed
>hey look at the assignments its all seasonal things
>industrial sabotage now appearing in dives and assignments
>rockpox waves are no longer restricted to lithophage missions
>every 30 minute rotation a large chunk of the available missions are infested with the seasonal shit.
>UHM ARE YOU COMPLAINING ABOUT A FREE UPDATE??????
People who treat game devs as their friends need to get their heads kicked in
did you pay for the content?
Yes I did. I bought this game and every update has made it a bit worse. I bought a product and the creators decided to come in my house every or so and make my product worse and worse. I couldn't say or do anything about it because it was free!
Weird because I bought the same game and every update has made it better. Maybe we've been getting different updates.
Weird. Did you get shitty flappy bird clones shoved into your game with this last patch?
If you're getting filtered by the mini-game you can just come out and say it. Nobody is going to judge you for that.
So weird man. Did you also get the update where they added a snake machine and every time you wanted to use the microwave on the rig you had to play 32 levels of snake? Im glad there isn't actually any real content and just more cosmetics and early 2000's mobile phone games being forced into the game!
See I didn't get that one. I knew we were getting different updates.
go back to where you came from Chibbity
i would trade all that wienerpox bullshit for more loadout slots in a flash. jesus frick i want more slots
>copy paste a loadout on gunner
>loadout slots on all classes get unequipped
>bosco gets reset
Did they test this shit at all?
>trigger all the swarm on a 8 egg mission like usual
>a dozen stingtails and spreaders spawn and we all die
I guess its a bad idea now
>stingtail flings you back to the space rig
did they test the physics on this shit?
if i have no friends should i still buy this or are public lobbies awful?
haz 2, 3 and 5 pubs are fine, stay away from haz 4 its full of tryhards who are also bad at the game
>UM YOU WANT A FIRING RANGE TO TRY OUT YOUR WEAPONS INSTEAD OF HAVING TO LAUNCH AND LOAD AND QUIT SEVERAL MISSSIONS
>UUHHHHHH FLAPPY BIRD ARCADE MACHINE!!!!!
Frick these devs
there is a mod for it
>Complain about the lazy devs
>"JUST MOD IT BRO"
Unironically
The beer is just for people who want to frick around for a single mission and not frick up their permanent loadouts (if you really actually keep the max 6 loadouts occupied for some godforsaken reason)
>bro just dedicate an entire of your limited loadout slots to getting around a bug that the devs arent fixing
>bro just get a mod to give you more loadout slots
>bro modding will fix everything
Frick off. The devs are getting paid to work, I expect them to do work.
What bug?
Randoweisser literally doesn't work.
It only randomizes your cosmetics and perks, then it just picks one of your existing loadouts.
this is why I refuse buying Rimwrold. I f you need to spend at least half or a full hour optimising your game with mods, it doesn't deserve full price
>He fell for the moron bait
Kek
what the frick he doesn't want to put in a bunch of work to make a game playable because the developers are too lazy and shit?????? MADNESS
>>He fell for the moron bait
I've said, I refuse 'buying' Rimwrold
Rimworld price gouges for sure, never fricking going on sale... but I've probably gotten my money's worth by now regardless, and I've barely even touched mods yet.
I realy want a new mission type, or at least something harder than a EDD
>Super EDD
>6 stage mission
>Rewards reset once a month
>7 dwarves
Difficulty starts at Haz 5.5 and increases by 0.5 with every stage
>3 modifiers
>Completing all stages rewards you with vast amounts of every mineral, gold, and several cosmetics and weapon overclocks
EDD is already hard enough if the last mission is shield disruption or caretaker
>could run the game maxed out 60 fps with no drops
>now the game drops below 45 on medium
how have they fricked up so bad?
>Finally find my first jet boot crate
>All three other dwarves just grab the hacking console for a minute and give up again
>Solve the minigame first try
I'm not even a zoomer who played flappy bird, how moronic is the average gamer these days?
steam://joinlobby/548430/109775244385583220/76561197962839239
Does swarm control automatically scale with more players balanced or should I always set the spawn to 2x?
rockpox related stuff is shit, but the new enemies are fun, mortars and stingers will frick your shit up
>buys your favorite game studio
>ruins it
>Dwarf goes down during extraction
>Everyone kills themselves trying to save him
>Fail the mission
I love it
Finally fought a corruptor for the first time. I like it, a lot more engaging than just doing janny duty on the meteors. Some of the attacks need better tells though, they basically two-shot on haz 5
how the frick do i get good at haz4+
>hazard 1/2
>if you die in this you might as well uninstall
>hazard 3
>basically "normal" mode, but still too easy
>hazard 4
>the same as hazard 3 90% of the time with the remaining 10% being some insane bullshit
>hazard 5
>constant stream of enemies, if you don't have crowd control you're fricking dead, if you accidentally stumble upon some combat event like the nemesis or bet-c you're fricking dead, if you don't have any nitra spawns you're fricking dead
btw the corruptors are fricking moronic and it feels like pure rng whether or not you manage to break their armor
im gonna assume you might be a total moron and ask if youve turned your FOV up as high as it goes, makes a big difference
otherwise practice spatial awareness and try harder to use the sound cues
also literally just walk away from the bugs, its just haz 4 ffs
Just play shootan games more. Haz 3 and below are baby moron mode, haz 4 is normal, haz 5 is medium, and modded is the real hard.
A few tricks that will improve your general performance though
>shooting stops you from sprinting, but if your feet aren't on the ground you maintain your current velocity
This also applies to other slowdown effects like shooting gunners primaries, pinging things, using grapple hook, etc
>shots loaded into a gun are available as soon as the number changes in the HUD, so if you cancel the rest of the reload animation you can begin shooting again faster.
Think of it like an active reload, some weapons get better reload cancels than others, and for some doing a reload cancel takes longer than just watching the rest of the animation
You can only learn how to play haz 5 by playing haz 5.
In many modes the game sends hordes periodically and as the time goes by these hordes get bigger and bigger. Eventually the hordes will become so big that you just have to ask yourself how is this balanced. So lots of it is just about doing the missions really fast (in solo). With full party you will have engineer that just gets double of everyones kills.
the only mission type with increasing enemy spawn rate is Point Extraction
>as the time goes by these hordes get bigger and bigger
false, except for PE.
Keep moving. Be aggressive within reason. If there is a single strong enemy, frick it up right in the face. Don't rush if you're getting swarmed.
Can I get a normal group for EDD? Fricking monkeys I swear to GOD
This EDD is a cakewalk, how are people having this much trouble. In the group i beat it with earlier today one of them said it was his tenth attempt.
Haz 5 got harder since the update, you can't deny it
youre just having trouble adjusting to the new shit anon, give it time and youll get a handle on it
>shoot the Corruptor with everything
>minimal damage
>tell Bosco to shoot it with missiles
>two-shots it
It was Haz5 Critical damage mission, but still. Lethal enemies as well, so I got downed a ton with the corruptors attack. Didn't even get a good look for how it works because it was oneshotting me every time it hit.
lethal enemies only applies to melee damage
that said i dont know how anything the corrupter does is coded in regards to that
Reminder that fornicating with insects is illegal.
Try to stop me
What negative modifiers do you fear the most?
swarmaggedon+lethal enemies doesnt make me scared but it does make me go play a different game
Haunted I guess
The rest is manageable tho Elite and lethal are a bit scary
>flamethrower + fire aura
>Bugs explode mid-flight
Swarmageddons are dope as frick
low 02, tedious shit
Mactera plague .
Parasites, because I've never fricking seen it
>The least impactful mutation (unless golden bugs)
I have 280 hours and have never seen that mutation
You have you probably just didn't clock it since its just some grey slug things that die if you look at them. Sort of like the plague worm guys that show up in infested areas.
>tfw killed my 2k lootbug today and game never said anything
I have done 6 of them in 150 hours according to perk menu, as the other anon said you probably just missed it. It's also very funny with volatile guts.
Too bad miner manual only shows kill count and not amount of specific mutators completed
But have you killed an elite lootbug?
So that's where the gay sex bug comes from
>SUPREME CHAMPION
Low O2
Shield disruption
Haunted depending on the mission type.
Battlepasses are fricking gay and should be replaced with Reward tracks instead.
>no expiration date
>if you don't play for a while and multiple tracks have been added, you simply choose which one to focus on
>once you completed a track, it becomes repeatable with a renewable reward (different for each track)
Why is the spacerig so comfy?
Semi-greenbeard here
Do I have the powerlevels of perks in the correct order?
>Iron will is essential
no, you only really need one or two dwarves running it. I would rate field medic and dash over it personally
Resupplier is great. Why do you rate it so low?
man I can't live without deep pockets
even when I use my minigun I get too lazy to manually reload my pistol
meant deep pockets AND born ready
Resupplier should be moved up 2-3 tiers
iron will is a crutch.
200 hours never used iron will frick off abusers
>Why is everyone jerking to iron will? Those 12 seconds barely do anything
>Check wiki
>"Obtaining health via any method during "Iron Will" will prevent the down from occurring after the last stand duration"
Fricking lying descriptions
its not even only that, i hold my iron will until everyone on my team goes down, then pop it and get one instant ress with field medic and another before going down.
the vampire + iron will combo is nice but saving entire runs because of the field medic + iron will combo is invaluable especially on scout
how the frick do i stop getting skill gapped by the stupid ceiling crawlers that require a dedicated perk to be able to do anything about if you dont spot them first?
look up
I just can't get into this game. My friends love it but it's just not fun to me.
