This illustrates exactly why Dexcut is not only a non-issue, but honestly for the better.
You know what my favorite part of playing Sun and Moon was? Trading up all the mons I couldn't catch in game. Regional Dex is the only dex that matters.

Dexcut is an issue because whether you transfer your Pokemon or not, not having an official version of showdown or battle sim means that you can't actually get/do anything with a rotating number of Pokemon for each generation, and that's absolutely moronic, and done for no reason other than arbitrary ones and to sell you DLC with "returning Pokemon"

They're only "free" if you're online and can thus coast off of everyone else's purchases such as leeching off of trades and raids.
If you're offline though, you need to pay up for the DLC yourself or buy the prior games you can natively obtain those Pokemon, otherwise you'll never come into contact with them within the confines of your offline experience.

Anon, that's not the great fricking filter "needing two systems and both versions" is. Kids have phones these days (part of why pokémon's adapted as so), phones have wi-fi spots and that lets you play online Switch (I personally played rounds of splatoon 2 travelling internationally on my phone wi-fi).
And it all boils down once again to poor morons malding vidya changed for the better (as I'd rather Iwao actually have to work for his "third version" than take a whole entire game and add a hallway or two and sign off on it). But I'm not autistic and hyperfocused on the creature index.

I'm not mad about dexit, it was bound to happen sooner or later. I'm upset that Home is just Bank at 320% markup with features that don't justify the price hike and a system that means I'll have to either pay for Home or keep my Pokemon scattered across multiple games, which is cumbersome. If Home was a Stadium/ PBR style sidegame where I could battle with my Pokemon, I probably wouldn't have minded, but they couldn't even by assed to do that. Let me INTERACT with my fricking pokemon. I'm not paying $16 fricking dollars for a glorified box. To answer

question, no, they're all chilling in Ultra Moon. I haven't bought any nu-gen slop so there is no reason to use Home.

I really don’t care enough to transfer my team members into Home lol, I have my WIP living dex, all my shinies, random crap like Ash Hat Pikachus, and thats it.
The only Pokemon I bother transferring are my full odds shinies in the 2D games, but they usually stay in the Gen i found them. Or have a hard final destination in Gen 5.

This this pic fanmade? I don’t understand why Fire Red/Leaf Green are sectioned off from the other GBA games.
Emerald also had the wireless trading adapter and was released last so why wouldn’t it be grouped with FR/LG for compatibility?

Shouldn’t the gen 6 games get their own section since transferring from them to the Alola games was one-way and they couldn’t be transferred back? This whole chart only makes it look more confusing than it already is

      Anonymous

If I had to guess, the reason FRLG are segregated is because they had that absolutely fricking moronic trade lock that prevented them from trading with any Non-FRLG games until you completed a Post-National Dex Sevii Island quest, so even if they COULD trade with RSE, you had to wait a fricking while to do so from a fresh save.

Just shinies and any other Pokemon I cherish. I have a living dex up to gen 7 in Bank, and still debating on whether to transfer them or just start from scratch with Home.

Well when Bank gets axed you’ll have to decide whether you want that living dex to be in Gen 7 or in Gen 6.

Well they're already stuck to 7 since I transferred them all to 7 already. And once they've gone to a gen 7 game, they can't go back to 6.

You can transfer from the actual gameboy games to the virtual console gameboy games?

        Anonymous

Yes, you copy the saves into the 3ds as the VGC releases and it reads them the same.

        Anonymous

        >*Technically locked, but can transfer with homebrew 3DS
As it says on the chart, asterisk and all, it's boxed because you technically can't (hence the whole thing about Gen I/II being gated from the rest), but you CAN copy the save from the original cart and either inject it as the VC save. Not """""legit""""", but it's possible if you're attached enough to a GB/C mon to want to bring it with you.

I only play random battles on Showdown and use the free time not wasted on this israeli scam of a franchise (that was only ever defended by autistic corporate wienersucker troons suffering from Stockholm Syndrome by proxy) to simply fap to pirated hentai doujinshi featuring only on-model Pokemons like a normal person

Maybe so, but at least Pokémon games are still something you can actually play yourself on an emulator, instead the glorified 60$ VNs that Digimon gets for the last few years.

I prefer to just keep my mons in their own games aside from some competitive ones to pass along.

I thought about it, but now that movesets get reset going into Scarlet/Violet it has lost a lot of its purpose to me. Why would I want to trade up stuff with movesets I raised, especially like the Purified Shadow Pokemon (by the way, missing from your chart), that will lose what made them special?

      Anonymous

Dont they just reset again if you switch them back to HOME?

        Anonymous

Yeah, Home still holds the Pokemon's original moves and such, it's just when it goes to a new game that it gets moves based on its level. You can give it the original info when putting back in Home.

I've stopped bothering. I don't actually use any of my Ruby mons, I rarely reuse mons at all. Only time I ever did was bringing my BW2 team into the X facilties for triples.
