Trannies ruined the game, as in literal transexuals from the speedrunning community, just visit the discord which is the only way to guarantee teammates that are not AFK. You had actual groomers competing against children playing on PS. I wish I had never gotten this game.

I did manage to win but I had to put more effort into it than any other multiplayer game I have ever played because you are competing against people with genuine mental illness whose life is this game.

They had no problem before becoming F2P and exclusive to EGS, they had a cycle of about 6 months of extensive content and their battle pass that was not purchased, and no problem, then Epic bought them, and tried to change the counting cycle and duration of the pass, to the point that now it is a monthly pass with fewer levels, and there are no longer themed passes, not even like Fortnite does
Fall Guys was not to make content as often as Fortnite, if not at its own pace.
So no, Epic killed Fall Guys

The game was pretty fricking dead before it too, it was only kept alive by Playstation Network because the game was free on PSN. 3 months after launch the player count dipped to 3,000 peak players on Steam and then sunk even lower. You could only play this on PC and PS and the game really sucked, took me 30 hours to start winning reliably. Imagine if someone made competitive Super Mario and you had to beat Cosmo and Narcisa plus every assorted AGDQ troony every god damn time to advance, just miserable.

It's amazing that people respect Managing Directors/CEOs and executives in general. I genuinely think they must have had zero exposure to them in real life. They're overwhelmingly incompetent and if you're lucky they have an extremely vague idea of how the business they're in worked like 20 years ago.

The amount of times I've been in a company and this has happened
      >Long time executive retires, company not doing well
      >New CEO comes in, promising to 'transform' the company
      >Poor understanding of the business, lays off critical/experienced staff to 'cut costs', assumes many projects/departments are much more simple than they are
      >Company implodes because they got rid of the people who had the expertise/experience and now the service is terrible/projects suffer in quality
      >Everyone in the company knows this is happening, but the executives don't believe them
      >Spend a huge amount on 'consultants' who will take 6 months to tell you what the employees was saying was true, but now it's too late to fix it
      >Business does badly, either gets sold on again and absorbed or goes bankrupt.
      >Executives jump ship, immediately get a senior role at another company and the process begins again

I have seen this personally first hand three times and known others it happened to. The idea that business execs are intelligent talented individuals is so fricking laughable and divorced from the reality. Even look at Facebook, that Metaverse shit is more of the same nonsense of a guy in charge with no fricking clue and no one to tell him no.

        The problem is starting from
        >Long time executive retires, company not doing well
One common thread in these circumstances is that people tend to hate the guy who starts implementing changes without understanding that “keep things going the way they are currently going” is nowhere near a viable alternative. Twitter and Unity have both gone through this, and we all laugh at the incompetence that drives their wildly unpopular changes but ignore the fact that the financials say they were losing $8 million a year and nobody was gonna keep pouring money down that hole without the promise of major changes.

          Anonymous

Twitter is losing more than before, not less.
Unity STILL isn't making money, and its stock has been free falling since the moron announcement earlier this month.
You are describing exactly what he is saying, some bonehead comes in and makes a lot of changes to "save the company" and just ends up killing it faster. Now to be fair, no smart person would come in to either of these in the first place, so it makes sense only the morons would try to step in to a shitshow like this.

I don't hate EGS on principle, but I refuse to put money into it because Epic has a very, very long history of canning projects when they decide it's not working and this would have already happened to EGS if not for Sweeney's absolute stubbornness, which isn't going to last forever. That store is going to die and anything anyone spent on it is going to vanish into the aether

it was already in decline. it briefly got a few players back with season 2 but it didn't debut with a level editor or literally any way to keep the game that had like no content at launch interesting so of course it immediately ate shit.
it had a chance but they bungled the post-launch window about as hard as they possibly could've. the team was microscopic, so of course the epic buyout was enticing. the game was doomed with or without it though.

The reason it stopped being fun was because content was being added too slowly early on. After a few seasons a load of content built up so it was fun to play again, and recently they finally added a course creator and the ability to just play with any number of friends for shits and giggles.

Mediatonic is a completely garbage company who spammed shovelware releases for years until FallGuys accidentally worked, it's no surprise they were unable to properly maintain it or release decent content for it.

No clue, most all the maps in mogus were added BEFORE they blew up in 2020 by the way, with only a single map added since then.
It's like they get super popular and then just freeze up, you see it happen all the time.
I remember when baldis basics was HUGE and the dev sort of just sat around and put out new versions with slight changes instead of making sequels like FNAF did.

To be fair among us came out on 2018 and had only 30 players before it suddenly blew up 3 years after. By then the dev team moved on. You can't just hire on randoms and create the infrastructure to update the game frequently from the ground up. They didn't know if it was just a trend or if it would stay big.

You either see your numbers plateau, or know you have a turd of a game between your hands, and here comes timmy tencent offering you more money than a real launch would probably get you since your game is bound to be a flop, so you just take the check and bail. I'm surprised the leads at mediatonic didn't jump ship after the sale.

Not exactly true, the only maps that ran like shit on Switch were the two race rounds introduced in space season for using a billion thrusters. A lot of morons here. The game isn't ending. Epic has their own developers to continue updating the game. Remember, Mediatonic were the morons that had no clue what they were doing after the initial success and took ages to get more maps out. I don't think they had any experience with games receiving post-launch content before, or realized how big their mid-pandemic-summer launch(free on PS+) would end up being.

    What they should had done:
Keep crowns as the only currency to get costumes.
Add rewards for all top players so there is less pressure for winning, this is a casual game, making it overly competitive was a mistake.
1st place gets a crown, the rest get shards according to how they qualified so even new players can still get a costume over time.
Have an option to buy crossover content, taunts and other stuff with either money or crowns, the Nightmare Before Christmas event was a perfect example of how this should had have been handled.
Continue with themed seasons and crossover events.

Make small minigames like sweet thieves every now and then.
Instead removing crowns entirely removed all incentive to play the game at all.

Hard to say if this will kill the game, the original devs were not that talented, would be like replacing 343i for Gearbox, sounds bad but 343i sucked already.

Fall Guys has a level editor and weekly featured user maps listed in the game modes. Last time I heard about Fall Guys was that the devs took their sweet time to add only a few maps after many months of no content and between these there were team based ones that everyone and their mother hated at the time.
    I guess nothing will change

    >laid off the team
    lol
my gf is a 3d character artist on fall guys, around 20 or so employees' were laid off in a team of several hundred; one artist and one level designer but the rest were support, QA etc - that's it
obviously it stings having to tell people they no longer have a job through no fault of their own, and my gf is marginally upset - but they were and still are heavily overstaffed

why does a shitty indie game need several hundred people for Fall Guys of all things? Was your "GF" actually hired for art or to take lunch breaks every 5 mintues and refill the breast milk fridge?

Actually the only reason why Epic is downsizing is because the epic vs apple lawsuit screwed them over and burnt bridges. They were printing shitloads of money off fortnite on apple devices but since that got banned, they lost a massive revenue chunk and apple users would just not play fortnite and moved on.

that's literally not what i'm arguing you mongoloid. my statement was "fortnite isn't losing popularity yet" and you twisted it into "it will never die" and then proceeded to cite four games with stable playerbases as evidence as to why i'm wrong.
the statement i made was OBSERVABLY CORRECT as the game has persisted for six years. after one gen of fortnite kids grew up, another took its place. i didn't say it would be like that forever.
