>Fans BEG for a remake for over 20 years
>finally get one
>immediately tossed aside and forgotten about
What the FRICK? You fricking GRIFTERS NEVER CARED ABOUT THIS MASTERPIECE

SEE!? YOU SEE!???
It sold over 3 million copies.
SNES version sold 2.14 mill
You’re telling me it only drew in a measly million new fans??? Pathetic
zoomer post
>literally doubled it's userbase.
>measly
The future of humanity looks dimly moronic.
>doubled
>2+2=3??????
Yeah the future is grim if that’s what you kids call math
Ah, I misread it, my brain blocked out the SNES part.
But still, a niche title attracting that many people in this day and age is impressive. I fully expected it to stay the same or shrink.
2.14 millions are the original LIFETIME sales, the remake got 3 millions in like one and half months after release, pretty sure that by now it has sold much more.
NUH UH. YOU ARE A TROON. WOKE.
if you didn't get 100 Super Jumps, you didn't beat the game.
if you used super suit you didn't beat the game
same goes for masher, frying pan, lazy shells and any items purchased with frog coins
If you didn't equip all of the best equipment and rape the frick out of the game, you didn't beat the game.
If you beat the game, you didn't beat the game.
nice work anon, everyone else ITT only pretends to play bideo gams
Geno was almost KINO
As a fan of the series the last thing I wanted was a shitty remake. Play the original game on original hardware or don't bother.
This. Frick remake culture and the morons that enable it. No fans of SMRPG / TTYD were asking for a remake. The request has always been for a true successor.
From what I've heard it was an incredibly faithful remake.
>Play the original game on original hardware
Do you even own it and an SNES?
Because I do. The battery is dead so I can't save until I replace it. I use it to do single sitting runs for now.
>The battery is dead
That’s a very easy fix, anon.
>Do you even own it and an SNES?
Not him (and not defending that statement), but the scarcity of original equipment is one of many reasons why the death of Virtual Console was anti-consumer bullshit.
>inb4 VC had problems too!
Yeah. I know, but the solution wasn’t to kill it. There were simple, common sense solutions that would have made it better. And even then, VC was better than owning nothing or forking over $60 for what is essentially the same game that used to sell for $10.
>That’s a very easy fix, anon.
I know it is, I don't feel like doing it currently though. Mainly because I don't think I have a tool to remove the screws on hand.
And yea, I do agree that killing VC was some bullshit.
Same, honestly. A sequel is what i wanted.
I got what I wanted, so I’m happy
Game got announced a point in my life where I was heavily debating on killing myself, so getting this remake for a game I always dreamed of seeing again was something I couldn’t appreciate more.
I don’t like the remake but good to hear that anon
>Why is nobody talking about a 15-20 hour single player game that came out 6 months ago every day?
Live service games have rotted your brain.
>6 nonths ago
AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH MAKE IT STOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP
I finally did the 100 jumps in the remake version. I was never able to do it in the original. Therefore, the remake version is the best
I got to the casino in the remake, but never original.
The remake is nice because it explicitly capped the desync in super jumps, you can get pretty high before it forces you off.
>immediately tossed aside and forgotten about
b***h homosexual its a 10 hour single player game that most people who cared played 2 weeks before it released what in the actual frick do you expect people to keep talking about
it was meant to be the dark souls of mariolikes......................
I got it and beat it the week it released. What the frick is wrong with you
>proved him right by immediately discarding it
It's not a long game.
That's what she said
That’s what I said to you last night heh
I just barely beat Culex 3D. It was fun.
I played it and had fun. I didn't play the snes version every day of my existence.
I bought the game, what more do you want?
To kneel you pathetic bug
Cell is the perfect man of reason we need right now.
They ruined the art style. However, every one I’ve seen talk about this game claims they think it looks better than the original so I don’t know others excuse.
there's just not much to talk about, aside from small changes and boss rematches in post game its just the same game but with new graphics
Woah.. it's almost like... new games would be more interesting than re-releasing the same games over and over...
You did the same thing to Mario Wonder GRIFTER
If you didn't do a Solo Mario run at lv.1 with no equipment and didn't play with one hand, you didn't beat the game.
I admit, the art style suffered a bit, but the dances were wholesome.
SEXO
She has the eyes of a down syndromed moron. This webm makes me not even want to download the NSP.
>just rediscovered the snes copy I borrowed from a buddy in high school decades ago and never returned
Now I've got two!
>Fans BEG for a remake for over 20 years
Already incorrect.
Genogays were the ones who begged for it.
Not surprising they didn't play it.
If you think I was going to buy a game with the name Speardovich in it, you're mistaken.
That’s his canon name you AERIS gay
Don't care, sounds worse.
I played it, and finished it 100% within like ~30h. There wasn't a whole ton of content.
The perfect block system really simplified a ton of content, and the post-game re-fights were really cool, but they're one and done, and more like puzzles than fights, since they all just lean really heavy on a few mechanics. perfect blocks, perfect hits, and status effects, then you use all of those for culex 3d. culex 3d, once the crystals are dead, has ONE attack, that's perfect guardable, so it basically boils down to just shitting out your highest damage combos on him.
It sets up a really good base for future games, but I just know they'll never make another, so I was more just melancholy after I finished it, knowing they gave it a fresh coat of paint, were pretty faithful all in all, and NOTHING will be done with it in the future. I don't even necessarily want a "smrpg 2" but just ANYTHING in that engine would be great, it's one of my favorite JRPGs of all time, and still holds up to this day.
NOOO YOU HAVE TO CARE ABOUT EVERY GAMES EVER RELEASED
Have you seen the volumes of games released nowadays?
"Several months later... I, the singleplayer game with the limited content, am forgotten" posters are among the worst people on the entire board. There are better ways to start a thread about your favorite games, use your fricking brain.
>sees thread he hates
>goes in, replies, bumps it, all to let us know how much he hates it
Smart IQ there
Stop playing multiplayer games and shit full of MTX, it's really fricking with your brain.
Played the remake for the first time this year, having never played the original.
It was just ok, even by the standards of the time in which the original released.
I don't really get the hype, unless in the situation wherein people were shocked that such a game even exists back in 1996.
I can smell the pretentious farts you sniff up from here
Culex made me horny.
That OST, though, god damn.
I never asked for a remake, but I did try playing the new one and it feels very souless. Honestly the original was perfect and this was a waste of time remaking for no reason.
It barely had any new content, and to make things worse it's even easier than the original.
Like the original was difficult in any way.
Fact: Ganker is not the fricking universe, if Ganker is not constantly talking about x, it doesn't necessarily means that x is a failure. The opposite is also true, if Ganker is constantly talking about X, it doesn't necessarily mean that x is a success.
You're right, Twitter is the universe. You should go back there.
>tossed aside
no
>forgotten about
who says its forgotten? does it need a daily Ganker thread to be relevant or some shit? there were threads all month for the game.
I will only play the original.
Remakes are a waste of development time.
Make a new game.
This, make new games that I can piss and moan about and pirate because frick The Man.
I literally bought 2 copies. theres also honestly not much to talk about. Its just a nice rpg that doesnt waste your time
I'll come back to the game if they ever patch a classic mode that gives the game back the small amount of challenge that the OG had.
They won't do that, so I'll probably just play the original version in the future.
Nothing more to say. Yet another dumbed down DEmake
This game really didn't need a remake
The original really didn't need to exist.
How can you remake that which doesn't exist?
Why pretend you care about garbage?
moron contrarian take
One of the things I love about this remake is we get a better look at the character design that sorta lose their details in the original pixelated visual. But I can't forgive pic related. Get that modern shit out of here.
they "disneyfied" the game. More accurately it changed from being 50% a square game to being 100% a nintendo game. The fans got almost 30 years older, but the game is now made for toddlers
i can tell by the cutscenes. https://youtu.be/FtBFL8O6aAA I never had interest in buying it, i hear it adds a lot of QOL improvement but i really dont like the look of the game and i think the SNES version is more suited for its aesthetic, especially with the sprite emotions.
Cared enough to sell more than Stillbirth. Cope
Did the remake fixed the action inputs being so inconsistent? Like, Paper Mario always has you pressing the button when attacks make contact with Mario while RPG is like a second or two later.
As a Genogay, I'm happy
Even happier that Geno has a better chance at getting into the next Smash or Mario Kart
>Paper Mario but worse
Uhmmmmmm cringe.
How is it worse?
Imagine asking for a "remake" in this day and age. Worst thing you can do to your favorite game
Well what are we supposed to discuss, you fricking Black person mongoloid?
>OH MAN REMEMBER WHEN MARIO JUMPED ON THE GUY
>REMEMBER BOWSER JOINING
>REMEMBER WACKY MINIGAME
Fricking third world monkey, have a nice day.
The perfect block and the prompt for hits made a already easy game borderline toddler tier if you have reflexes better than a 9 year old
Timed hits were ass in the original anyways. It feels like playing with some weird input delay. I'm so happy that other Mario RPG spin offs had the inputs sync up properly to the animations.
Oh boy, here comes Luigi in glorious remake hi defini... OHHHHHHH!
>Dodo isn't just Valentina's comic relief lackey, she's basically his mom and has been treating him like shit and manipulating him his entire life and he seethes about it in private but otherwise does nothing because she's the only parent he's ever known
That's kind of fricked.
I played it enjoyed it, would and have recommend it to other players, what more do you want? The game is relatively short especially by RPG standards. It would take like 15-20 hours for new player that didn't play the original to 100% it without a guide. If you like turn based RPGs this is a easy recommendation, If you want something a little deeper or complex mechanically or storywise you aren't going to find it here.
