Only think you can possibly call markers for are LP stack positions after the chariot or the order of the gales, but if you aren't using voice chat that's out of the window.
If you're just doing PF then markers are fricking useless. You can use them for clock spots after the dynamo but you don't need them.
the entire dance is led by the healers, everyone else just follows their assigned group (and they still somehow frick up the spread mechanic half hte time). Gale 2 is like 10x simpler for dps / tanks
everyone else just sticks to you , you have to know where to go. So yeah, the fact you have to actually know the mechanic (compared to everyone else) makes it 10x more difficult.
If people are just sticking to you instead of running where they need to go, you're playing with shitters.

It'd pull abilities from some older jobs like geomancer and oracle as well for lore purposes, call it like Harbinger or something and give it a sort of witch doctor aesthetic like Ezana from Triangle Strategy (pic rel)

I don't recall if I ever postulated how we'd bring an end to it though, but given what we knew of the echo and tempering back then, the Titania-primal she mantled would have tempered her so she'd be stuck in a self perpetuating loop

People just want another death of someone that actually matters. The writers have milked Haurchefaunt for so long. It's hard to feel like there's any real danger when Zero flat out says "it's okay we can save Azdaja after we kill Zeromus", pretty much removing any potential drama that whole shitshow had.

People who say it's milked are generally getting it from the community- every few weeks there's someone making some tribute or shrine to the characters, so it ends up getting tiresome, and then the few times the game does so (and always relevant to what's going on) they feel like it's overplayed.
They haven't milked him as bad as Ganker memes about, but I do agree that the game could do with some more death done in a meaningful way. It shouldn't go full GoT killing people nonsensically left and right, so a lot of stuff with the twins is moronic. And people that wanted Thancred to die after the Ran'jit thing are kind of missing the idea that you want a character to survive after completing a character development arc so their new development can actually be shown...
But, for example, Thancred staying dead in Ultima Thule, even if the others survive, would have been a MASSIVE and emotional gut punch that really stuck with people. I don't mind that he survived, but it would have been a really emotionally poignant place to have a death. It's thematically appropriate that he's revived, and I get why the writers are hesitant to actually kill him. Audiences can get rabid when a long-term character dies, and the Scions have been with us for over a decade.
Vrtra dying to save Azdaja would be really tragic and take his stuff full-circle, even if it would continue the trend of THAVNAIR MUST SUFFER.
The only reason people think Thancred should have died after Ran'jit is because the way the scene was made. It's very obviously written as a death scene, but then they pull a "hehe gotcha ;)" when you return to the group. If they didn't want to kill him they just shouldn't have written it that way. It's cheap. And now we know ahead of time that the story won't have stakes, so it's pretty hard to get invested in it. I was actually surprised when Azdaja was fed to Zeromus and it looked like Vrtra wasn't going to get a happy ending. But then they assured us she'll be saved somehow next time.

Are you just incapable of actually reading? I said the problem is the scene was written as a death scene and a cheap fakeout. That's the problem. I don't think characters should just die for cheap drama, I think that if the writers write a death scene then they should fricking follow through on it and maintain stakes in the story.
The Thancred v Ranjit fight was the single most obnoxious death fake out in a game that really walks the line of having far too many of them. It was much worse than even "Uh, Gotetsu and Yotsuyu somehow both survived ...?" and did fricking nothing with it. Thancred has been barely relevant since.
I loved ShB, but the entrie Ranjit plotline could be removed and the story would be better for it

He's meant to be a foil for Thancred and to provide more lore and worldbuilding for Eulmore and Norvrandt as a whole. He represents the perspective of somebody that's truly lost hope to save Norvrandt after spending a lifetime trying and failing. He's also really never shown as stronger than the WoL. The only time we fight him before the fight in which we kill him, the fight gets interrupted partway through.
The decision to not kill any main characters is solely because they don't want to kill any fan favorites and potentially drive anyone away. If they were above cheap shock value they wouldn't rely on death fakeouts so much.

we knew about sin eaters, but the trailer editing made it seem like ALL sin eaters worked like lightwarden did. that, paired with what we knew of primals, pixies being freshly revealed, and that Alisaie seemed at the time to be the type to embrace forbidden methods to achieve a goal, would become Titania and devour sin eaters to prevent them from reappearing
I don't recall if I ever postulated how we'd bring an end to it though, but given what we knew of the echo and tempering back then, the Titania-primal she mantled would have tempered her so she'd be stuck in a self perpetuating loop

People who say it's milked are generally getting it from the community- every few weeks there's someone making some tribute or shrine to the characters, so it ends up getting tiresome, and then the few times the game does so (and always relevant to what's going on) they feel like it's overplayed.
They haven't milked him as bad as Ganker memes about, but I do agree that the game could do with some more death done in a meaningful way. It shouldn't go full GoT killing people nonsensically left and right, so a lot of stuff with the twins is moronic. And people that wanted Thancred to die after the Ran'jit thing are kind of missing the idea that you want a character to survive after completing a character development arc so their new development can actually be shown...
But, for example, Thancred staying dead in Ultima Thule, even if the others survive, would have been a MASSIVE and emotional gut punch that really stuck with people. I don't mind that he survived, but it would have been a really emotionally poignant place to have a death. It's thematically appropriate that he's revived, and I get why the writers are hesitant to actually kill him. Audiences can get rabid when a long-term character dies, and the Scions have been with us for over a decade.
Vrtra dying to save Azdaja would be really tragic and take his stuff full-circle, even if it would continue the trend of THAVNAIR MUST SUFFER.
The only reason people think Thancred should have died after Ran'jit is because the way the scene was made. It's very obviously written as a death scene, but then they pull a "hehe gotcha ;)" when you return to the group. If they didn't want to kill him they just shouldn't have written it that way. It's cheap. And now we know ahead of time that the story won't have stakes, so it's pretty hard to get invested in it. I was actually surprised when Azdaja was fed to Zeromus and it looked like Vrtra wasn't going to get a happy ending. But then they assured us she'll be saved somehow next time.
Yeah, it's framed as if he's dead but people saying he SHOULD have died are going beyond just falling from the framing.
They should have shown Urianger showing up on the scene to save him so it feels less like a convenient asspull.

Are you just incapable of actually reading? I said the problem is the scene was written as a death scene and a cheap fakeout. That's the problem. I don't think characters should just die for cheap drama, I think that if the writers write a death scene then they should fricking follow through on it and maintain stakes in the story.
The Thancred v Ranjit fight was the single most obnoxious death fake out in a game that really walks the line of having far too many of them. It was much worse than even "Uh, Gotetsu and Yotsuyu somehow both survived ...?" and did fricking nothing with it. Thancred has been barely relevant since.
I loved ShB, but the entrie Ranjit plotline could be removed and the story would be better for it

He's meant to be a foil for Thancred and to provide more lore and worldbuilding for Eulmore and Norvrandt as a whole. He represents the perspective of somebody that's truly lost hope to save Norvrandt after spending a lifetime trying and failing. He's also really never shown as stronger than the WoL. The only time we fight him before the fight in which we kill him, the fight gets interrupted partway through.
