Yeaaaaa. I like the idea of saving a dying world but trying to keep that momentum will result in people getting burnt out. The expansions before Endwalker followed a simple trend of mundane (ARR and SB) that built up to a larger than life conflict (HW and ShB) then cooled down for the mundane. Endwalker broke that cycle and crashed the entire car. People are too blind to see it and that makes it sad.

The mundane nature of ARR and SB that I'm talking about comes from the Garlean conflict. They were always viewed as our common enemy and were on par with us in terms of society and power. Their weakness from a lack of magic manipulation is covered by their knowledge of magitek. Compare that to ending a war between dragons and the Holy See that has raged on for thousands of years and saving a dying world from being consumed by light there is a huge difference to the stakes involved. There was also the Ascians that sowed chaos in the world. Showing us their world but having every citizen clad in a the same robes/mask presented another mystery to their society that Endwalker ungraciously removes with Elpis.
Thats what I'm talking about. A rollercoaster of storytelling that kept rising with no dropoff.

diamondback isn’t an invuln and cd-based abilities take less skill to use than resource-based ones yes. this is especially so for xiv where the bosses follow a strict timeline
It's a 90% damage reduction, it is effectively an invuln. In actual raids players need to time their abilities, BLU can just use their get out of jail free card as they please.
as i mentioned earlier, a cd based ability in the context of a strict timeline is completely skill less. any monkey can press holmgang every time dike shows up, it costs nothing and changes nothing

One time was during a run of weeping city, I was tanking and, after the first boss I saw that the limit hadn't been used and I popped it for no reason, since it doesn't matter because it resets at the beginning of each boss fight. One guy said "good LB usage" and i took it as sarcastic compliment, so I did it again after the final mob/trash before the ozma fight, we had one bar charged and it wasn't used, so I popped it.
The guy went FRICKING BALLISTIC and started to scream like a rabid madman shouting "YOU ARE SO TOXIC AND YOU SHOULD have a nice day!" and because he was a healer he kept rescuing me over the ledge to make me die several times during the fight while he urged everyone in the raid to kill me and to not raise me. It was the weirdest fricking thing in the world how he was doing all of that and at the same time saying that he was going to report me for "griefing" the group

I've reported dozens of cheaters in pvp, but only two of them were suspended because GMs and SE are lazy Black folk when it comes to actually cleaning up.
