Shut the frick up, seriously shut the FRICK up. Did you know I've had to go to THERAPY because of what she did to the Ancients? Watching her kill off her own people was like watching MY own people (autists and other neurotypicals, like me) be killed.

She literally committed genocide, though. Those people and their consciousness no longer existed, brand new people were created FROM what used to be the people she genocided. The reflections being their own people and identity was a big plot point.

Not what happens. Emet tells us that the Sundered had basically no knowledge at first, that they couldn't even speak. It's not like you getting cloned, it's like you getting a lobotomy and then cut into 14 still-living pieces, then dying and being reborn in the body of a monkey. There's nothing that's actually YOU left from the moment of the lobotomy because everything that makes you who you are is gone, and after your first death you can't even be considered a human anymore.

Isn't part of this argument that they were supposed to be copies and retained their memories unlike what Emet says in the colab? Meaning it wouldn't feel like a lifetime, it would feel like you were aging a million years in a week.

No, not that Emet because that Emet never considered the sundered to be subhuman. Emet-Selch deeply cared about the sundered, admired their arts, and had even fallen in love with them. His main drive for the rejoinings is that his heart keeps breaking every time the fricked up situation tears another person away from him. His line about considering sundered to be subhuman is a cope so he can continue on with the mission without feeling like a monster. moron.

Non canon, but savage's phase 2 is her literally sperging out and rewriting the rules of the universe to support her guidance once she's shown it's flawed, she refuses to accept she could make a mistake so the entire universe must be mistaken instead.

I mean do you not remember when she shunted Minfilia off to the First and had her bodyjack dozens of little girls in order to artificially inject hope into their situation? That's the whole point of WoLs to begin with, to serve as her agents protecting and inspiring people.

Hey Forum Black folk/Trancers, here's a hint, as I know you're reading this thread: I used to post in the "Whats the Point with that Quite lackluster story in Endwalker" and was one of the "critical" posters, not a story white knight let alone this Renalt gay or affiliated with them. I stopped posting on the forums completely last year. If you knew who I actually was you wouldn't even believe me.

You have no idea the enemies you Black folk have made, even amongst people once sympathetic to you, or even on your "side". If you want to know who really did you homosexuals and your little discord in I recommend that you look inwards and not outwards.

    >Muh ancients weren't gonna sacrifice people as the Third Sacrifice, just plants animals goy

From Ere Our Curtain Falls: https://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/special/tales_from_the_shadows/sidestory_07/

    >'The people were divided, unable to decide what to do with the future that now stretched out before them. Many wished to trade the new life which had sprung forth to reclaim those lost in sacrifice to Zodiark. No small number, however, insisted that the fate of our world should be entrusted to those selfsame freshly minted souls. All were at our wits' end.

At once, we saw it, shimmering. It poured out of Zodiark's breast, and resolved into the shape of a man. As he looked us over─mouths agape, no doubt─he gave what passed for an earnest smile.
    >"Fear...not... You will make...the right choice. And I will see it through."'

Trancers literally, forever, eternally BTFO'd. They were gonna sacrifice people, making lesser people but still people nonetheless and a large sum of Ancients (not just Venat) had took ethical issue with this (same people who btw had no issue with the first two sacrifices which were their own kind) and opposed the Convocation, which is in large part why Venat chose to Sunder the world. She, and her followers, wanted to entrust the future of the world to the new people's that had been born and did not believe it was morally justifiable to genocide them to bring back those who were already dead. That and of course because she knew her people were doomed and it was only the sundered who stood a chance to stop Meteion. So she commited Involuntary Mitosis upon all life in the world. The sundering didn't kill anyone, thereby it wasn't genocide before you go "MUH SUNDERING WAS GENOCIDE TOO"

There you go. Shut the frick up.

Because it was about their denial of what had happened and the reality of death. They got scared so shitless of death once it stopped being a matter of convenience that they decided they'd just totally frick the Lifestream to get their friends back and cope themselves to death. Anyway, don't respond to the Emetgay and his crusade homosexualry.

Oh I get the message, I'm just pointing out how silly it is that NONE of the Ancients thought about just having kids to revive their race, they only considered mass-sacrifice to bring back dead people or else just giving up and letting a bunch of cavemen take over.

            Anonymous

It's because they weren't trying to revive their race, just their personal friends they'd lost. Just remember that the future souls they would have fed to Zodiark would have included potential unborn Ancients too. Even if they were going to trade living things and not just vague chunks of aether, a soul isn't locked into the same body for each reincarnation. A dead chocobo could end up becoming an Ancient in its next life.

I guess the point I'm making is that the Ancient's way of thinking was flawed in ways that not even Venat was immediately aware of, falling into herself.

Yeah, it makes them human. Although I think with Venat EW made it more a matter of "oh well I guess I'm just going to have to do this if I can't change their mind, it's already settled" rather than a rebel taking a gamble on what she believes to be right. Which in my opinion removes a lot of the human element from her decisions and makes her pretty boring to me.

Ancients must not have very high sex drives with their lifespans being so massive. Imagine how many kids you could have just in like 10,000 years.

No, but the fact is that their unhealthy view of death before the Final Days, that being that it wasn't death at all (the d-word is forbidden!) but a cozy retirement where everything is nice and happy and they all just can't wait to commit suicide, left them completely unable to deal with the reality of death when it hit. So instead of resolving to move forward and accept what had happened, they were mindbroken and decided to eat the Lifestream and ruin the cycle of life and death to maintain their fantasy.

Because there's implied societal pressure to do it. People treat Venat weirdly because she didn't KYS herself after she passed the mantle onto Azem. There's a lot of stuff about how weirdly strict, formal, and autistic the Ancients' culture was, where they basically pressure each other to be hyper-conformists without any individuality and to act as cogs in a machine that kill themselves when their usefulness is over, while also trying to suppress the emotions they clearly have.

The entire point is that it's supposed to be a clear exposure of the flaws of a "utopia," hence why half of the names and shit in it are references to Thomas More's "Utopia." It's a collectivist ideal with all of the horrors that implies. Individuality, freedom, and enjoyment are stamped out or seen as anti-social oddities that people shun. Everybody dresses the same, hides their features, hides their true selves, are referred to by title as often as by name, obsess over duty and try to hide their emotions, etc.

No? This is why it's impossible to talk to you gays. You keep on with this moronic shit where someone says the third sacrifice was an insane idea that would have killed everything, and you hear in your head "THEY SHOULD HAVE JUST DIED AND NEVER SUMMONED ZODIARK!!!" Not a single fricking person ANYWHERE argues that Zodiark wasn't necessary. They needed to live. The issue is what they decided to do after everything was fixed.
                >but also that when they all had ego-death and prematurely died a million years before they hit old age, that wasn't "really dying" either.
This is a semantics argument about which definition of genocide you're using, as I mentioned earlier in the thread. Nobody is arguing that they didn't suffer immensely. The argument is about whether ego death/cultural destruction counts as genocide.

IE those sacrifices to Zodiark, IE those deaths. So in that situation, in contrast to their earlier behavior where death was just a normalcy, they were refusing to accept it anymore. So then, in that situation should they have just accepted those deaths and moved on?
                >The argument is about whether ego death/cultural destruction counts as genocide.

                >The problem was not that they died or chose to continue the cycle of the Lifestream, but that they were so terrified of the reality of death that they couldn't acknowledge it for what it was and thus had invented some flowery fiction of what it entailed, leaving them unequipped to deal with death when it was no longer a choice.
The issue was not that they killed themselves. It's the way they treated it. They never, not once, accepted death as it actually was.

The ones they were trading the souls for hadn't been slaughtered. They offered themselves to Zodiark. So no, you're just a fricking idiot. Yeah, was rightfully triggered by the frivolous way everyone else treated death. Death isn't something to be taken lightly. It's something to be respected, and the choice to die is something that should be carefully considered and should weigh heavily upon everyone involved. To them it wasn't, and that's the problem. That's exactly what killed them in the end.

So I guess we just ignore the part where Emet says that everyone feels saddened when someone chooses to die. Does it only matter if the response is throwing a temper tantrum and making it about yourself like Hermes continued to do?

                >And choosing to die when you've lived a long life and have fulfilled your goals isn't doing that?
Not when we see the characters treating it as "well he thinks it's time to retire so he's going to kill himself, anyway you want his job?" You can see this same idea extend to their experiments with new life in Elpis, where they think so little of living and dying that they casually make and unmake new lives.

So you're saying mommy killed people and then new people replaced them?

This is going back to the same semantics argument about if ego death counts as genocide. You people need to get a grip. Venat completely destroyed the culture and identity of the Ancients. Nobody was killed in a literal sense, the same exact people were there before and after the sundering. You seem to think the argument over this point is about whether or not anyone suffered, and not a semantics argument about whether or not ego death counts as actual death.

                >where they think so little of living and dying that they casually make and unmake new lives.

                >where they think so little of living and dying that they casually make and unmake new lives.
But death is often treated as a joke, with life being cheap, in the modern day as well. If Elpis is an expression of this with the Ancient's creations, doesn't every farmer, hunter, or animal breeder in the modern world also bear that responsibility?

I think the core of the issue here is that the nature of mankind really hasn't changed from then to now. We've seen how many people sacrifice themselves to Primals?
                >Nobody was killed in a literal sense, the same exact people were there before and after the sundering.
Until they died from their drastically reduced lifespans you mean?

Lahabrea was like an old fricking man even for the Ancients. If he was caught in the sundering, do you think he'd have just lived out the remainder of his "natural" lifespan relative to a sundered human? Or would he have just died on the spot because he was already way way way older than any of them could ever live?

Death is death. XIV's setting has reincarnation, but a soul being reused as the core of a new person doesn't mean that the original bearer of the soul is alive again. Just like WoL isn't Azem and Amon isn't Hermes, a new person is born when that soul resurfaces.

Also the entire reason Elidibus seperated himself from Zodiark was because everyone was fighting over the morality of the proposed Third Sacrifice. Clearly enough people were outraged over whatever or whoever the Convocation intended to sacrifice that this lead to largescale infighting between the surviving Ancients, so bad that Eldibus had to come back out of Zodiark and try to stop it.

If the Third Sacrifice was just plants or animals why the frick would so many people have such a serious issue with it? It wasn't just Venat, it was a siginficant portion (described in the short story as "no small number" so a fricking lot) of Ancients were ethically opposed to it. The same people who had no issue with the first 2 sacrifices, whom were their OWN people.

The only logical conclusion, unless you're being deliberately obtuse, is that they were

      A) People
      and
      B)Unwilling.

Venat literally stopped a planned genocide with the Sundering. And also remember, the Sundering, according to Hydaelyn, was a "last resort" to stop Zodiark. He was too powerful for her so she was forced to resort to Sundering him, which meant sundering literally everyone and everything not just him, she didn't want to do the Sundering it was a last resort to stop Zodiark or else she would've just jobbed to him hard.

It doesn't matter what it was because all life has souls that can be humans, meaning that the question was over human souls regardless of the forms this takes.

This is such a dumb fricking debate because you have both sides whinging about genocide meanwhile both of them will also gladly go "GAS THE MHIGGERS/GARLEBlack folk NOW" five seconds later.

The genocide argument will never be settled because half of the argument is using the actual definition of genocide and the other half is using the word genocide to refer to the complete destruction of a culture rather than a race of people. Next time set definitions up front so you aren't arguing over it for three hours.

      Anonymous

      >refer to the complete destruction of a culture
Not just their culture, but completely erasing their memories, self, identify, and personality, basically resetting them back to infants who had to re-learn everything. At that point the individual is basically dead.

        Anonymous

That's still the destruction of a culture and not a race, which is the 'geno' part of the word genocide. If you want to use genocide to mean cultural destruction then that needs to be settled before the debate begins. This has been ongoing for a year and a half now and the debate always just hangs for hours because each side is arguing a different definition.

          Anonymous

If we used the UN's definition of genocide, then completely destroying a 'culture' (in this case it's not simply that, it's erasing the person, this has no real life equivalent) actually is considered genocide.

There were lengthy debates where she tried to convince them not to head down the suicide path. She wanted to save them. The Ancients could have battled Meteion themselves if they had found the resolve to hope in the face of despair. But they didn't want to.

I thought the debate was over not going down the murder path, not the suicide path. I don't remember her ever arguing against the first or second sacrifices, and the third wasn't about them killing themselves.
          >The Ancients could have battled Meteion themselves if they had found the resolve to hope in the face of despair.
Wasn't the entire point of the dynamis shit that this was always impossible no matter what they believed? Let's say they just accept her argument on it's face, in the end don't they still need to all an hero and sunder themselves anyway?

Anon, think about what trading future lives to Zodiark entails. The cycle of life only works because it's a cycle. If you start cutting out the recent souls to trade backwards then the entire thing is ruined. It can't function. If the Ancients start giving souls to Zodiark unnecessarily then there will be no future lives and they'll quietly expire in their cope bubble on a dying husk of a planet. The murder path is a suicide path.
            >Wasn't the entire point of the dynamis shit that this was always impossible no matter what they believed?
No, we saw that Hermes could influence dynamis, both with the flowers and with Meteion. The Ancients had just grown apathetic because of their abundant lifestyle. It's like how if you eat every day then lunch is just another part of the usual, but to some homeless scrub in rural Kazakhstan or something he'd feel unending joy if you gave him a McDouble.

That's if we believe they would do future sacrifices (For what? Why?) after the third one. Because in reality the third sacrifice was supposed to be a straight trade for the souls trapped within Zodiark, which shouldn't result in a net negative.
              >No,
But doesn't Y'shtola specifically say that the sundering was done at least in part to better allow people to interact with dynamis?

If we believe defeating Meteion was possible for the Ancients physically, and it was only their culture holding them back, why didn't Venat just take her followers and leave the Amaurotines? Make her own society?

                >That's if we believe they would do future sacrifices (For what? Why?)
They already didn't need to do the third sacrifice, so really once you give into the temptation there's no reason not to continue. The fact that they wanted to keep Zodiark instead of coming up with a better permanent solution and releasing the souls speaks volumes. They wanted their god and his power to stick around.
                >But doesn't Y'shtola specifically say that the sundering was done at least in part to better allow people to interact with dynamis?
In part, yeah. The sundered have an advantage in that the lower density of aether lets dynamis actually mesh into their bodies, but that can also leave them vulnerable for the same reason. But Ancients could still influence dynamis externally, so they could have beaten Meteion through hope domination the same way.
                >If we believe defeating Meteion was possible for the Ancients physically, and it was only their culture holding them back, why didn't Venat just take her followers and leave the Amaurotines? Make her own society?
Can the hope of thirteen people alone overcome Meteion? Who knows. Maybe she feared what they'd do with Zodiark in the meantime. Maybe she was just locked into the decision because of WoL telling her it was fate. Either way, she clearly did try to get the others to find the resolve to hope and continue on. She did want them to beat Meteion.

                >They already didn't need to do the third sacrifice,
They had a strong impetus to do it, just as much as anyone that's lost their loved ones. My point here is the question of why they would ever need to use Zodiark outside of those circumstances again. They already have the ability to make anything they want straight from their minds.
                >The fact that they wanted to keep Zodiark instead of coming up with a better permanent solution
Venat wanted to keep Zodiark too. Nobody involved could have gotten rid of him because his existence was the only thing preventing the apocalypse. It never even got to the point they could consider any other solutions because they never knew what the problem was to begin with, they were just trying to solve "the problem in front of their nose" one at a time.
                >Can the hope of thirteen people alone overcome Meteion?
The hope of 14 people did. They have 12,000+ years, why not just repopulate? In theory they could leave the planet even, like with Venat's moon evacuation plan.

As far as they knew, the problem was the stagnating celestial currents that Zodiark mended, which also conveniently functioned as a barrier. With that knowledge in hand they had all the time in the world to arrange a more permanent solution to that problem that didn't involve a wish granting soul mech.
                >The hope of 14 people did.
WoL was backed up by the hope of like half the people on Etheirys.

In that case we've come to the question of whether or not they could have devised such a solution, and have done it before rebuilding their society. They were still living in ruins at that time, with 75%+ of their population in Zodiark. It never got to the point where they were in a position to even do the third sacrifice, it could be that an alternative to Zodiark simply hadn't been considered yet, or thought of as feasible until they'd rebuilt.
                >WoL was backed up by the hope of like half the people on Etheirys.
A few thousand people, at most. But that's also if we believe that this hope transmitted across the universe into the final battle, which is possible in theory with dynamis but the mechanics of people happening to spark the heights of their hopes despite not knowing what was happening at that moment is questionable at best.

The very fact that when the Final Days came they threw away this reverence for the planet and the supposed sanctity of that cycle they claimed to be maintaining. Their inability to face the truth of death left them reaping that precious cycle to bring back the lost.

If the ancients couldn't so much as interact with UT at all because they had too much aether, how do you figure Middy was gonna do any better? We're sundered and Meteion still basically beat us instantly at first until Thancred did the equivalent of spilling his guts all over the walls to see if it worked and just happened to get lucky.

it doesn't matter if they could or could not do anything, despite being able of interstellar travel, and despite warding scales being made from dragon scales
the least venat could do is tell them who the real enemy is
instead of watch them get murdered and tortured by the ascians

unless, that is, meteion and elpis was written hastily during the development of ew, causing massive plotholes and retcons and ruining the story built up since 10 years ago

Azem had Elidibus meet with the WoL so that the WoL would leave such an impression that he (Elidibus) would later remember their friendship so that he would use the Crystal Tower to send the WoL into the past so that the WoL could meet Venat and tell her about the Sundering so that when the time came Venat would know that she needed to sunder the world so that Azem could be sundered and reborn over and over into what would eventually be the WoL who would then be able to save the world from the problem they (the WoL) caused when they helped Hades and the others find Meteoin before Hermes could listen to her answer and come to his own conclusions.

Why'd the timeline change for an apocalypse and not a single atom being out of place?
Put another way, why is the threshold [historical event] being changed and not, like, [the movement of an entire galaxy] being changed? If you think about it stepping on an anthill is of no more or less scale to an entire universal timeline than wiping a continent clean of life.

Those are your rules on it, clearly not Square's.
Their take on it is that changing the course of history majorly (not-Sundering, pursuing Hermes preemptively, etc.) will change the flow of time.
Whereas adhering to everything that would majorly shape the future of the star does not.

One of those timelines had its Crystal Tower stripped from it. Can't be a loop when you jumped the Crystal Tower across the Rift, into a shard where time ran differently for a hundred of its years.

G'raha did literally that in Shadowbringers.

I think Elidibus in the Crystal Tower says something like "Don't change anything, this is the present that you need to return to." when you get sent to Elpis.

Now that I think about it, I don't remember if there was anything concrete in the dialogue saying it was closed loop timetravel. It's possible people saying it was has just made me believe it.

              Anonymous

I don't think it was ever confirmed as such, but it's possible to come to that conclusion.
You can also come to the conclusion that it was made into a self-perpetuating cycle *after* the Sundering.

Depends on where I’m allowed to start from. If I have to start from the end of 6.4, then have it be straightforwards; warrior of light duels zeromus, and Zero duels Durante at the same time. Maybe throw in a mechanic or two where the golbez crystal weakens zeromus from the inside, shifting the attacks to the side or interrupting mechanics to sow confusion. WoL defeats Zeromus, but they have to abandon Zero or risk being stuck in the 13th forever due to Zeromus or something making the pit portal collapse.

        Anonymous

If I could start from the beginning but had to make it follow the main thing of golbez tries to get to the source, I’d again make him more aggressive. Instead of seeking to open a permanent portal, he organises raids and skirmishes to test the source, see what opposition his hordes will face. WoL and friends intervene, he sends fiends. Fiends go down, Vtra becomes an opportunity. If one dragon got him his four generals, another would be worth capturing. So he uses what’s left of Azdaja to lure in Vtra, and intends on using those two plus the zodiark soup to do a big portal ritual, the main invasion. WoL goes in, big climax duel on the source’s moon, Golbez is defeated at the cost of Zero, and maybe vtra and or azdaja.

          Anonymous

So essentially, make Golbez feel like an actual threat and a strategist rather than a bumbling moron who happens to just find immense sources of power by pure luck and then keeps throwing them at the wall to see what sticks while somehow convincing the archfiends that he's totally worth being fanatically loyal to despite accomplishing less than nothing.

            Anonymous

Correct, and it’d make the loss of the fiends reasonable if they were sent to evaluate, establish a foothold, and maybe find some more aether for the ritual and got more than Golbez expected.

      Anonymous

I'm curious about the golbez soul crystal falling into zeromus, we know that voidsent souls and memories live on in the host when consumed and we know golbez had a strong will so I assume zeromus is going to frick with durante somehow, I also have a suspicion that golbez was a shard of azem and that could play into it somehow but I could be wrong

        WoL's gonna rejoin again.
It will get all of Zeromus inside us.
Then Y'shtola will freak out because we're having what happened in ShB happen again but this time even worse (and darkness aspected).

You do realize that plot would require at least Y'shtola and one person attuned to darkness aether (probably Zero) to come along right? That's what happened in ShB, WoL trying to leave alone was the suicidal move.

Zero could probably come since she's literally already a Voidsent, and maybe some of the First crew like Ryne, Gaia, Cylva, or Unukalhai, since they're either heavily light or dark attuned, but Y'shtola would be just as vulnerable as any random person.

                >Still nothing about people just spontaneously turning into sin eaters around us.
                Yeah?
                >Nobody fricking turns into a sin eater out of nowhere in the entire expansion.
No other one is every Lightwarden all in one. But they talk about how even the ambient aspected power of the Empty is dangerous for people to reside in for too long, or it'll corrupt their aether. In comparison WoL is a walking nuclear meltdown.
                [...]
At that point WoL is Vauthry + 4 other fricking Lightwardens. He's literally spamming Everlasting Light across the entire continent.

How would the light aether corrupt anyone around when it's not even able to corrupt the person holding it?

                Anonymous

You have the Blessing of Light and yet you are literally already corrupted. What part of "you have all but become a Sin Eater" and "your mere existence will serve to engulf the world in Light" did you not understand? Feo outright says that your very soul is cracked and leaking Light everywhere.

Post the line where he says that. Funny how it's the only one you haven't posted a screencap of. The one fricking line that actually would prove what you're saying and it's the only one you don't have.

I posted it before, but you're just being moronic and refusing to see what it's saying in plain text. WoL literally tries to run off alone because he's radiating aetheric fricking cancer everywhere, how do you explain that if his mere presence isn't a danger of doing EXACTLY WHAT EMET-SELCH SAYS, TURNING YOUR FRIENDS INTO SIN EATERS?

Again, WoL is ejaculating so much Light that it's covering an entire goddamn continent, coming direct from him. He's every Lightwarden in one at this point. The way Sin Eaters turn people is by disrupting the harmony of people's own aether with an abundance of Light, and even mid-level b***h Sin Eaters can do that. Do you seriously not think long enough exposure to WoL dumping Light everywhere would do the same thing? Extended proximity to waves of a Primal's aether is also how you get Tempered mutations like the drowned too, the principle is the fricking same and WoL may as well be a fricking giant chunk of graphite spraying radioactive Light everywhere.

You morons are dumb. Read what he says again, and read the fricking room afterwards, then have a nice day.

Oh god please don't tell me you were refering to

                >"I'm sorry anon, thank you for BTFOing me."

Where he is clearly talking about after you turn into a sin eater, just like Tesleen didn't immediately start doing sin eater shit after turning and instead ran away.

                >WoL literally tries to run off alone
Because he's going to turn into a sin eater, yes. You keep mentioning this as if it proves your argument. It doesn't.
                >The way Sin Eaters turn people is by disrupting the harmony of people's own aether with an abundance of Light, and even mid-level b***h Sin Eaters can do that.
Yeah, by fricking running through people and then physically injecting them with light, like Emet wants you to do once you've turned into a sin eater. At no point in the game does anyone turn from merely being near a sin eater. At no point in the game does anyone say this is a thing that happens. The only circumstances in which this happens is with the lightwardens, and they explicitly say that's because when the light aether has no vessel it immediately searches for the nearest one. But we're talking about a situation where it does. Until WoL is fully turned and can't fit any more aether at all, it's not gonna go into anyone else.

Stop reading lines that don't say what you want them to say and immediately headcanoning something different.

                >Where he is clearly talking about after you turn into a sin eater
Not only does he say that you are basically already a Sin Eater, but he also says that your companions will turn and THEN you'll lose your mind. He says this directly and instead of arguing his words themselves, you just keep saying "nu-uh" like a fricking dumbass.
                >just like Tesleen didn't immediately start doing sin eater shit after turning and instead ran away.
We literally see Tesleen's vision fade to white. "Sin Eater shit" is following stronger Sin Eaters, which is exactly what she does you mongoloid.
                >Because he's going
to turn all his friends if they stay by him. Which is why a big deal is made of all the Scions resolving to follow him to the end no matter what, because in doing so they were essentially signing their own death warrents.
                >Yeah, by fricking running through people and then physically injecting them with light,
Yes, that's how basic b***h Sin Eaters do it. WoL is LITERALLY RADIATING ENOUGH AMBIENT LIGHT AETHER TO COVER THE SKIES OF THE ENTIRE FRICKING CONTINENT. Did the Flood of Light ITSELF need to stab people to turn them into Sin Eaters? No you fricking idiot, the raw power transformed them!
                >At no point in the game does anyone say this is a thing that happens
Emet says exactly that but you just keep ignoring it. Are you really seething this badly because I made a joke about you being BTFO, to the point that you can't even quote what he says, instead just pretending he didn't say it?
                >The only circumstances in which this happens is with the lightwardens, and they explicitly say that's because when the light aether has no vessel it immediately searches for the nearest one.
WoL is five Lightwardens in one and his vessel is fricking split like an egg and spraying Light everywhere.
                >and can't fit any more aether at all
WoL's soul was ALREADY too fricking full and cracking at the fourth Lightwarden, before he absorbed the most powerful one.

                Holy shit you're dumb.

Keep the boss turned away from the group at all times.
Try not to use your mits during bossfight, you healer will handle the damage, save mits for pulls which always hit harder.

Use your invun only during really fricking long pulls or when you run out of mits.

What exactly is the point of dungeon bosses? They provide less challenge than w2w pulls and almost never have any interesting mechanics

      Anonymous

they just need to add mechanics to trash pulls other than chaining mitigation. Easiest way to do that is add casters to trash pulls (that cast sleep on your healer lmao).

In general, because content (including MSQ content) is gated to dungeon completion, they are tuned to a much lower level of difficulty than even normal trials or raids.

P11S being easier also means that there are less prog groups, since people can clear and move on from the fight faster.

Try DC travel. Otherwise, wait for latecomers to finish Pandaemonium Araña to fill your groups, or sneak into an 11 group not at your prog point if desperate since the fight is easy enough to fake-it-till-you-make-it.

Hermes the type of homie to speak up at a funeral when everyone keeps saying how it was an unfortunate tragedy
    >well ackshully it wasn’t a tragedy that implies some sort of thespian background and not rooted in reality, in actually he tripped and fell into that wood chipper, everyone remembers his blood curdling shrieks of horror, why are y’all likening it to a play? He died of blood loss due to his injuries it wasn’t Shakespeare

Nah, Hermes is that dramatic homosexual at a funeral that has to cry louder than everyone else, flops all over the casket, and then gets into a fight about how everyone isn't mourning the dead properly. And then when you call him out on it later he flips his shit and knocks over the dinner table.

This seems pedantic. Does it really matter if WoL was going to infect his friends and transform or transform and infect his friends? The point is WoL was a ticking time bomb, can you stop Emet and save G'raha before you morb out?

      Anonymous

The original question was about whether or not WoL infected with the dark aether of Zeromus would pose a threat to his friends.

      Anonymous

The original point was if WoL absorbs Zeromus and gets aether sickness again (which would be a lame repeat of ShB) whether the Scions would have to help or stay away.

Which is a moot point either way because they have the talismans now that protect from exactly that and whether it takes longer or not WoL would still need Y'shtola and one more helper to stay alive while looking for a cure. So it's not like there was any actual point to that.

        Anonymous

        >lame repeats
they dont care. they do it all the time

        Anonymous

Why Y'shtola? You brought her up specifically before too.

          Anonymous

Because in ShB what was needed to keep WoL alive post-Mt.Gulg was for Ryne to use her Oracle of Light powers to keep the light within you under control. But she can't see aether so she was completely blind to it (remember that Ryne didn't even so much as notice anything wierd with WoL's aether by herself), Y'shtola was her eyes during that operation. The only alternatives to Y'shtola here would be an unsundered ancient that also could feel aether, or Matoya since she's the one who taught Y'shtola how to use that spell. But there's no unsundereds left and Matoya is too fricking old to go around adventuring.

            Anonymous

            >But she can't see aether so she was completely blind to it (remember that Ryne didn't even so much as notice anything wierd with WoL's aether by herself), Y'shtola was her eyes during that operation
What are you basing that on? She could sense the lightwarden before and at the end runs to save you on her own.

              Anonymous

Ryne can "sense" stuff to some degree but she can't do any kind of precision work or notice most things, like WoL's own aether being off. There's a reason Ryne doesn't say anything about it before Rak'tika and immediately after Rak'tika you get that scene of both her and Y'shtola checking on you, asking how you're feeling, telling you to rest, etc.

                Anonymous

But is that your inference or is it something they actually say happened?

                Anonymous

They did say it, after Mt.Gulg it took the combined efforts of Y'shtola and Ryne to keep you alive. If they hadn't done it you'd have died/turned in your sleep.
