the only good track in that tier is p8sp2
p9-p12sp2 are in general better, though I do think that white stone black is the best raid theme of the expansion, maybe the best we've seen so far
You will never lay your head in Gaia’s lap while Ryne fingers her and you can feel Gaia’s thighs convulsing as her moans vibrate through your eardrums. In Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker, that is.
>Pyromancer dropped from 89k to 69k followers since his addons and subsequent meltdowns (like against Xeems) and it's continuing to plummet >Can't pull above 70 views anymore unless it's Final Fantasy and even then >No more XIV content to grift for a whole year
He switched to BLU so he could kill himself, and a party member would revive him, skipping the jumping puzzle. He invites a friend to a party and for some reason decides to hit yes on the return to home point prompt that pops up when you die, probably instinctively thinking it's a confirm prompt for the invite.
Damn that sucks. For me I literally went to each US Data Center and bought out all the Tier 1 through 4 as much as was reasonable. My goal is all Zetas with full Direct+Crit scroll melds.
>My goal is all Zetas with full Direct+Crit scroll melds.
I'm also going for perfect melds even though I know it won't matter, a bit autistic but it wouldn't sit well with me to have it with unoptimal stats.
Recommend Yoichi Bow and Ragnarok most of all, but also good are Excalibur/Aegis Shield and Sasuke's Blades. Everything else in my opinion is a solid "meh" to "Longinus is bad."
Literally the opposite. Scream carried the absolute worst fights the entire series with P6 and P7 and is enjoyable to listen in general, while White Stone Black is pretty bad outside of babby's first hello world: the fight.
the hrothgar sprout WAR is fricking cute
he keeps provoking the bosses but he's also eating every mechanic, so the bosses are killing him with auto-attacks
also, he's doing tank LB
Out of the expansion? I guess, it's not like any of the other tracks are good besides Flow (instrumental). Scream and HSL are the only good raid themes, though. BSW sucks, as does ATTO
You know how there are like, 10 different VA's for male and female player characters, right?
What if, WHAT IF, there was at least ONE SCENE, one important scene, where we actually speak, and SE actually brought in all VAs for male and female PCs to voice the WOL in this one scene?
That would be pretty dope. Not sure what scene it could be, but if we could just get one scene where our player character finally speaks and it's whatever original VA who did the voice option you specifically took for your respective character that'd be awesome.
aren't the voices shared between languages, since they're only grunts and laughs and shit
the issue would be that they'd have to find soundalikes for EVERY voice, for EVERY language
12 voices x 2 sexes x 6 races x 4 languages
I would say that it's perfectly possible for a VA to rehearse a single line in a language he/she doesn't actually speak, but that's not even the real issue. The issue is that a lot of people out there identify with their avatars so hard that they won't want to hear another's, much more identifiable, spoken voice come out of it. It only works for the grunts and laughs because those could belong to almost anyone, including (You).
>12 voices x 2 sexes x 6 races x 4 languages
This math assumes that the voices aren't shared between the races. Most of them are available to multiple races. I'd say between the races you probably have at most 20 different grunting variations per sex, and many of them are probably done by the same VA. Same VA can also do all 4 languages if it's one scene, they just need a coach to rehearse with.
Does CBU3 even have the old race VA's on call at this point? Are they all even alive? It's been 10 years since they hired them to record a handful of grunts and chortles and I'm pretty sure none of them had any other voice roles of any kind in the game.
On that note, will fem hroths just be using existing player character VAs or will they hire someone new for each dub to do them?
I must be the only person who thinks the graphical upgrade looks worse. It looks like an overdone reshade filter. Some shit like the scales and increased clutter in environments do look better though.
I mostly want a more firm demonstration besides basic fly-bys and some rotating character faces to make a firm judgment on it. I don't mind the characters having a slight shine to it so long as they don't become plastic-y, because by god everyone's either solid clay blocks of awkward flesh right now or you have the shitty character lighting enabled, but the PBR for items and environments really caught my eye.
74.3GB, and 140GB is probably not the full sheer size but partly the install space needed to be able to get things on there before deduplicating the download I assume
I still think those are ridiculously high recommended requirements for an MMO. >poorgay
I have much better hardware, but if this significantly drops my fps, and especially minimum fps, I am not happy. Performance should already be better than it is.
I initially didn't care about Scream as a song until I LIVED it through a Primals concert. Now as far as I'm concerned it's in the top ten of the entire soundtrack.
Personally I'd rather that we got the ability to speak to Chocobos in Dawntrader. It'd be great (after your Scion friends fall off the boat and drown) you wash ashore and the first thing you're greeted with is the friendly banter of your choco compainion, as you spend the rest of the exciting time in Daytrader wiith your chochobo and exchange stories, while exploring the sights and sounds of glorious dawnwalkers continent together. Sure there will be a sad scene during the funeral when they lower yestola's bloated corpse into the ground for a final time, and a particularly touching scene where you shed a single tear for that gay fox-looking annoying dude, and you thoughtfully toss a taco on his descending casket as it settles in eternal rest. After that, your chocobo companion will quip: "Taco 'bout depressing" and you will laugh with your furry friend, because those old companions were stale and boring and seriously just die already
Wow that looks really goo- >That gameplay
Well those graphics look great at least
Am I being gaslit? Why the frick do so many people say 1.0 looked great? It looked fricking horrendous with that hideous piss-yellow bloom afflciting literally everything. The graphics are also as bad as modern FFXIV is.
And the "amazing" mocap? It just made the already dated looking graphics look more jarring, seeing these PS2 level character models moving like actual real life humans resulted in this uncanny valley vibe that just makes it look worse.
Like I genuinely believe anyone praising 1.0 graphics and animations are straight up gaslighting me or just insane.
1.0 had good textures and that was it. The lighting is horrendous and the material shaders look off all over the place so hardly anything feels like it belongs together.
No your not being gaslit. I'm comparing my screenshot to that video and the video looked better despite 720p. Also explains why the lighting looks like it doesn't belong there
>Am I being gaslit? Why the frick do so many people say 1.0 looked great? It looked fricking horrendous with that hideous piss-yellow bloom afflciting literally everything.
Anon you realize the average FFXIV usages Gshade where they apply disgusting levels of saturation and shit to the whole game. To the point where it literally destroys magic effects and makes character models look like pic related when any magical effects are happening.
Or make all the shadows black and gross.
To the average ff player everything you are describing is only a good thing.
>pic
I see so many streamers using gshade and everytime like you said there's any magic effects overlaid on an npc this wierd shit happens to the model. It looks fricking disgusting yet they never seem to have a problem with it. There's been times when an entire cutscene was destroyed because the streamers gshade completely illumated a room that was meant to be pitch black. Or like when Pyromancer's gshade caused him to see Amaurot long before he even got there and he literally complained to the GM's in a ticket cause of his own fricking addon causing him to be spoiled on a major part of the MSQ lmao.
The only option left is to go to his place of residence in Minecraft and beat the hell out of him, like what happened to the guy that spammed monkey torture videos to /gif/
Hopes? Beastmaster as a limited job. I think it's the most likely thing they could do to get me to resub. Major fight/job design overhaul isn't happening
Fears? It'll be just like any other fanfest where they waste 15 minutes talking about beast tribes or other superfluous shit
What is there to hope? We will get more trailer, a class reveal and possibly fem hroth. YoshiP will completely exaggerate shit again, we will see new screenshots of 2 channel dyeable clothing and thats that.
What hope? >another third of the trailer >job >concept art >some gay surprise like XVI crossover that's a solo instance instead of something with an ounce of effort like the Rathalos fight.
That's it, that's fan fest. You don't need to hope and you don't need to fear because you know what's in each one by now. The real info that matters like job reworks, potencies, hard info on new content, etc won't arrive until April or May.
No hope nor cope, just facts:
They will introduce "Companionship", a system that lets you bond with certain NPC in the game. It is governed by your choices during the story as well as a few weekly quests, each level of companionship will unlock more entries in the Journal and grant you a little cutscene bonding with that person. On release there will be only a few NPCs available, but over time they will add more. It is planned that you can go higher with only one NPC of your choice, ending in an EB like scenario for the player character and the NPC. Yes, this will include MSQ NPCs, the companionship quests are considered to be "out of time" similar like Krile in Eureka or Y'shtola in the warring triad.
NPCs on release of 7.0 will be
Y'shtola
Krile
Yugiri
The new Hroth girl
Thancred
Hien
G'raha
Pipin
yeah, i dont get it why they haven't done something about that. people really like the XIV cast, it is a shame we barely see them during down time/private time. would be very little effort unless they would voice that stuff or have it matter in the msq in a significant way.
Actually letting people have a Husbando/Waifu in the game would tie people even more than a housing plot to it, especially if they kept putting little updates in the system every patch. I am legit surprised they haven't done that yet.
>I want to know if COR(or whatever it's going to be named) will have a fast or slow GCD
Probably fast. So far, all melees that share gear have had mostly similar GCD speed, and COR will share with NIN.
I don't think the last ultimate was very fun.
Cleared all 5 of them, and while Omega was clearly the hardest, it was by far much less fun compared to Dragonsong or Alexander.
Felt very artificial, and I hope the guy who made it (criterion dungeon savage) learned and doesn't make it similar in the future or just doesn't work on them at all.
Also, FRICK the third part of phase 5 part where you have to adjust depending on everyone's debuff. Dodging to the rays is easy, but it's so fricking aids having to read 8 sets of debuffs while doing it.
It's really funny that hello near/far explode and wipe on death
It's not like you could clear the fight without them done right anyways
I can only think it was done to extend prog length
Nobody liked TOP. Features nothing people liked about Omega raids, shoehorns dynamis because it's the brand new thing, so much went wrong. TEA was a complete fluke given its the same designer, only bad part about TEA is the cutscene+immobile boss in the last phase plus the weapons, but that's a small price to pay for what was one of the best fights on release and still has the best enrage.
>shoehorns dynamis because it's the brand new thing
The entire point of Omega-F and Omega-M is Omega desperately trying to capture the spark of driving power that you have that allows you to overcome every other trial he's thrown at you. It's why he does fabricated, "Optimized" versions of all of the limit breaks in his original fight. He's trying to break limits in the same way adventurers do with Dynamis.
Dynamis didn't exist in SB and putting the current expansion buzzword in old content is tacky.
>hey guys did you know EVERYONE FRICKING DIES IF YOU SAVE HORSEFART
I dunno, it's something, but it's not marvelesque. EW is pretty marvelesque, come to think of it.

They didn't "stumble" onto it, they literally cheated without knowing how to do the mechanic. There's a reason TEA has the longest period between WF and WS of any ult. They're the reason why you can't set markers during combat anymore.

You must be mistaking the waymarker stuff for the Heart puzzle, which Sfia on record has said they've only found out because of a mistake.
But yes, they did use waymarks for iirc aoe spam into stack shit.

Dynamis didn't exist in SB and putting the current expansion buzzword in old content is tacky.
I'm fine with the interesting stuff they add, Ultimates SHOULD feel like a true route in a game.
I thought it was fun and I still think they're very lenient on the overall design of Ultimates in general up until then. Literally TOP is the only one with an actual dps checks, having done all of the ultimates when they were relevant. Even then, they pussied out in the hardest phase, p5 and made it only mechanic vomit asides from a bit of omega.
Raiders want difficulty but they don't want to admit they've been tamed like sheep to want breathers, no dps checks, and brain-off follow the leader type mechanics. I hope they make the next Ultimate at the same level of TOP, if not harder, because I love seeing top raider larpers act like hot shit up until they have to actually do hard content. Then it's "overtuned", "dps check too hard", "I don't wanna pay attention during p1-p2", "artificial difficulty". This is what you should have wanted from Ultimates, not this shitty difficulty that's barely above a Savage last floor, like ucob/uwu/tea done post-relevance.
DPS checks for Omega was great, the checks were real. It's just as
debuff vomit is lazy and a garbage design philosophy no matter the difficulty of the fight
says. You're either good at reading debuffs or not and I think the fight suffers because of it. Phase 6 was great, albeit maybe a bit easy. Run sigma was good. Final Omega overload was great. All of them reasonably difficult and felt good to execute.

>You're either good at reading debuffs or not
One of my healers manually marked everyone during the mechanic vomit. PF regularly uses plugins to do it for them. It's kind of a non-mechanic for reclears but hell for first time or blind proggers.
What's the matter with debuff reading as a skill though? The hardest mechanics have always been that, anything else would be assuredly too easy at this point for current raiders.
Anonymous
Reading your own debuff is pretty easy.
Infact, that part of the fight was trivial if you got first in line or second in line with double dynamis.
It's just ass in the situation where you don't have those. Maybe my group was just not good at that part, but it felt like there was some sort of mental gymnastics you had to do to solve where to go as not line marked players by reading the entire party list.

Right, mechanic vomit tends to be hard at first, easy later.
The only time mechanic vomit is hard the whole way is when you add DPS checks to it. Which they've only done for TOP out of every ultimate. Which is why I've always said that DSR is actually quite lenient but people didn't believe me up until TOP came along.
There is a limit to mechanical complexity a fight can offer without bordering on the ludicrous. I can agree that 8+ debuff vomiti is getting old. But the flipside is that difficulty needs to come from the class itself instead, but most casual people prefer Shb/EW class philosophy overall so that's unlikely to ever change.

>but most casual people prefer Shb/EW class philosophy overall so that's unlikely to ever change.
I am a casual, highest I do is Criterion and I never set a foot into any Savage raids: I would very much welcome if they eased off with the fricking puzzle fights and made classes a little more complex. FFS, EW had some of the worst Ex Trials, Rubicante was fricking atrocious.

Thing is, pure execution fights tend to be considered very easy. Zeromus Ex has very few mechanical pitfalls and it's probably the easiest extreme in the entire expac honestly.
Which is weird because Barbarciia is considered one of the best extremes and that fight is mostly just execution. But even so, I'd consider Barbaracia to be the absolute limit on how hard execution fights can be, barring making all her attacks just oneshot you.

Oh I like those kind of fights, I just hate the ones that make you turn a shape in your head 5 times to find a safe spot over while fireworks go off on your screen. Especially the fricking samurai boss in the rokkon criterion almost made me give up, I just hate that kind of mechanic. Barb was absolutely based, really fun fight.

We had such a good balance during Stormblood in terms of the job:fight complexity ratio. They've gone so far in the other direction that some fights are just fricking dismal when they don't have enough going on and it's old content that's suffered the most.

Ultimate's are ludicrous and so are Savage fights. Rapid firing mechanics at me is my idea of a good time nor a fun fight. Though I understand if it is for others.
It's like beating a Dark souls boss by studying his every move until it's a flowchart
Limit breaks are dynamis. Thus dynamis was retconned to have always been in the game since the beginning, you just never knew what to call it other than dynamis. It was all just force of will (power of friendship) all along.
>shoehorns dynamis because it's the brand new thing
The entire point of Omega-F and Omega-M is Omega desperately trying to capture the spark of driving power that you have that allows you to overcome every other trial he's thrown at you. It's why he does fabricated, "Optimized" versions of all of the limit breaks in his original fight. He's trying to break limits in the same way adventurers do with Dynamis.
Dynamis was never needed to understand Omega's failure to understand the WOL's power. The entire point was he was a fricking robot who couldn't understand human emotion and how it drives people to push themselves beyond their limits. It's literally "villain cannot understand the concept of love and fails because of this". A classic tale that never needed a deeper, scientific in-universe explaination. Going so far as to say 'actually he couldn't beat the WOL because the WOL had an even specialer form of magic powers" is fricking moronic and destroys this entire theme.

I'm who you replied to and I actually agree with this. However, I give leeway on it because Dynamis is explicitly and directly just the power of your emotions and will being able to drive you to further heights. Even with it being in the story, you still see the WoL overcoming something else using the same energy through his own sheer force of will and love. It being in TOP is fine because it's just giving a name to what was already part of the story.
It's effectively just giving a name to the "power of friendship" that was already in the story and what fuels half the fricking jobs in the game.
TEA is trash bro. It's one mechanic: the fight. It's puzzle was also trash back when it was first progged, no one liked it compared to UwU and the world first team won purely off of luck.
>purely off by luck
You stumbled on your bait, but I'll give you an A for effort. Train up, review your logs, and you'll be an orange-shitparser in no time.
How many world firsts did Sfia claim after TEA? Lol. They stumbled upon the puzzle solution early and that's the only reason they won and they've almost never won after that.
I thought it was fun and I still think they're very lenient on the overall design of Ultimates in general up until then. TOP had dps checks because the job balance was absolutely atrocious during release, same with P8S. The devs can toss out the "oh but we always tuned them like this before what happened raiders???" all they want but it's clear something went wrong with EW testing because nobody had a problem prior to this period. Nevermind TOP had a few bugs on release. This is why DPS checks didn't exist in Anabaseios as well, all these new hires suck dick and can't do their jobs.
>job balance was atrocious
Imao. What a claim to make. Wrong btw. Never felt the dps check when my group was doing it and it was full of off-meta.
People were just bad.
>This is why DPS checks didn't exist in Anabaseios as well
DPS checks didn't exist likely because of the p8s raiders shitting themselves in fury that they might not get their week 1. You're not going to see an actual dps check in Savage ever again, hope you babies are happy with that.
Imagine not being able to swap class and play at a top level, even with all these HomOGENiZeD classes. Raid larpers should just go die.
>Imagine not being able to swap class and play at a top level, even with all these HomOGENiZeD classes.
But that is what people did? You didn't need fo play top level on meta jobs, so long as you didn't play PLD, WAR, RDM, RPR, MCH, SGE, or WHM you were getting the clear by pushing buttons.
>why do I have to switch class to clear this fight
https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxivdiscussion/comments/1722a1c/is_it_okay_to_force_high_end_raiders_to_change/
You'd think so but raider larpers couldn't even swap from RDM to SMN half the time. Class swappng is very clearly a point of contention in the communtiy, even though the game was built for it.
Anonymous
I have no idea of casters, but don't raid troons buy overmelded crafted gear?If materia between RDM and SMN is different, you are looking at a whole new set, which costs a lot of gil.
But this has mostly to do with the awful way of gearing in this game. Way too slow, and there is no reason to lock the "best" gear behind savage at this point, except for the bragging rights. No one would mind if the 24man raid dropped BiS in slot gear for a few pieces.
Anonymous
You just extract materia. The cost would be minimal, SMN and RDM share stat prios iirc. You wouldn't lose that much gil at all, nor is penta melding required for p8s week one, I can attest to that with my scumbag melee player who forgot to pentameld.

Its contentious with the devs because it's clear since SB they didn't want anyone to be kicked out for not playing meta, and eben though there was meta in SB it wasn't as bad as HW. So the philosophy since SHB onward is no meta, just preference, UNTIL P8S and TOP. Now I know 90% of raiders are shitters who need add-ons to tell them what to do and where to go, but isn't it strange that this wasn't a problem during SHB at all? That's why I'm placing most blame on balancing and fight testing for the middle of 6.X.
Biggest issue in SHB I remember was Eden Verse favoring 2x caster instead of usual 2x melee, but even then I think WF was 2x melee anyways?

>Biggest issue in SHB I remember was Eden Verse favoring 2x caster instead of usual 2x melee,
Why is that even a problem, though? The party role buff modifiers are in such a way that you can opt to run 2 melee, 2 phys ranged or 2 magic dps along 1 of the other two without losing your party role buff modifier.
Anonymous
It's not, but people were used to the traditional 2x melee that you'd get people complaining about about being locked out for playing the most popular dps archetype. It was just a new way to approach a raid tier where melee uptime was a challenge.
I personally thought it was a fun challenge but you know how others are, which is why hitboxes are so large since Eden's Promise.
Anonymous
It was a problem in ShB, if you did E8S on release there were going to be DPS problems if you weren't in a meta comp. The issue here is that the game is so well balanced that it actually causes problems in the highest of the high tier content, they've started cutting things close (really just TOP) to make things fun but it's so tight that even if a job is 1% behind or reliant on crits it can make or break things.
I don't see any problem with their fight design, Ultimates should be brutally difficult and until DSR they were relatively easy. We've been getting other content like Criterion that shows they can do fun stuff with mechanics and not everything is going to bust your balls.
Anonymous
Class swapping wouldn't be an issue if gearing itself wasn't a pain in the dick. I sometimes don't wanna bother playing another job in the same role if it has different meld requirements, and it only gets worse as the weeks progress because now it takes weeks for something to be on the same level as something I can already play.
As much "levelling every job on one character" is a selling point, they seem to try their best to make sure you stick within a role.

I see an argument for "you need to play optimal at the highest level, and that means swapping job compositions".
But personally, the devs meta enforcing how jobs play is fricking gay as
>Remembering how they killed SKS samurai and pigeonholed everyone to crit
Omega fricking gay what they did
says.
Stifling player creativity sounds bad, I'd much rather they make all jobs viable to clear. Unfortunately that means making the DPS check "lenient" under circumstances where no one fricks up mechanics.
I'm actually OK with them doing mechanics where you might get minor stacking damage downs, but not die. It becomes a team effort to get the least amount of DD.

All jobs are viable and that's been their philosophy for more than half of XIV's life now. What happened in 6.2-6.3 was dev incompetence, and then trying to pin the shortcoming on the community. Yoshida is petty deep down, remember all those PVP BLM buffs?

Class quests were based and had some of the coolest characters while role quests barely have anything to do with your role any more. Frick this shit why did they ever get rid of them?
The ShB role quests were fantastic, and I liked the way they tied into the Main Story and gave background on Norvrandt. The EW role quests were pretty mediocre, though. Their only real value was giving more time to hang out with cool NPCs (in my case it was just $4, Gosetsu, and Kunny-Senna that I enjoyed).
I do miss class quests and all of that variety and lore. Even if some of them were bad.
Now I’m not even remotely good at pvp, but how is BLM good again? Melees seem to one shot me at half health all the time, tanks literally never die unless you ignore them and kill their teammates first. Ranged are dickheads that spam cc while hiding in the back, and all BLM ever did was spam Flare and get killed while everyone ignored the fire DoT.

How original.
Soken does it again!!!!
It was only the first or second time back then. Coils is the Seinfeld of XIV raids.
I did like Scream but the first raid tier had pretty bland music
It's not Evanecesey enough or CoD Zombies 115-y enough.
I like P12 more
P12 is a crappy korean remix of scream
Remain vigilant. When they come, do not engage. Don't even bother. Just do your part, Ganker. Shoot to kill.
I'm not doing it for you or XIV.
I just hate Discord gays.
stop schizo posting with my wife secondary
the only good track in that tier is p8sp2
p9-p12sp2 are in general better, though I do think that white stone black is the best raid theme of the expansion, maybe the best we've seen so far
You will never lay your head in Gaia’s lap while Ryne fingers her and you can feel Gaia’s thighs convulsing as her moans vibrate through your eardrums. In Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker, that is.
I miss them
I'd rather be Gaia in this scenario tbqphwuf
For me it was P9-10
yeah. Scream is great, but there's also White Stone Black, Fleeting Moment, and Hic Svnt Leones are all kino
>Pyromancer dropped from 89k to 69k followers since his addons and subsequent meltdowns (like against Xeems) and it's continuing to plummet

He switched to BLU so he could kill himself, and a party member would revive him, skipping the jumping puzzle. He invites a friend to a party and for some reason decides to hit yes on the return to home point prompt that pops up when you die, probably instinctively thinking it's a confirm prompt for the invite.
What's wrong with this guy? Has every WoW content creator jumping ship been outed as mentally ill?

Freetrialbros...
Ouch, I feel you.
Use low level combat gear on crafters
Damn that sucks. For me I literally went to each US Data Center and bought out all the Tier 1 through 4 as much as was reasonable. My goal is all Zetas with full Direct+Crit scroll melds.
>My goal is all Zetas with full Direct+Crit scroll melds.
I'm also going for perfect melds even though I know it won't matter, a bit autistic but it wouldn't sit well with me to have it with unoptimal stats.
Nice job bro
One of these days I'll sit down and get some of these...
Recommend Yoichi Bow and Ragnarok most of all, but also good are Excalibur/Aegis Shield and Sasuke's Blades. Everything else in my opinion is a solid "meh" to "Longinus is bad."
Here's the question, are you capped on poetics? If the answer is yes, go start one.
White Stone Black is better than an of the other raid songs, Athena, the Tireless One is close
Someone stop me from starting the ARR Relics all over again so I can have a full set, and by full set I mean 1 from each step.
Scream was terrible. Evascence album-filler tier that is carried by in-game presentation
White Stone Black was by far the best song
Literally the opposite. Scream carried the absolute worst fights the entire series with P6 and P7 and is enjoyable to listen in general, while White Stone Black is pretty bad outside of babby's first hello world: the fight.
White Stone Black is kino, I have it on my usual gaymen playlist. Shut the frick up.
Kino is a cinema term, not music , you fricking tard. Don't you ever misuse buzzwords while replying to me again.
Cinema includes music, it's a multifaceted medium. And vidya has cinematic elements. The music is kino. SEETHE.

I've been watching him and trying to not laugh, I'm the highlander GNB in there. His name fits him and his play perfectly too
good job to those healers who managed to keep him alive on Diabolos Hollow
Out of the expansion? I guess, it's not like any of the other tracks are good besides Flow (instrumental). Scream and HSL are the only good raid themes, though. BSW sucks, as does ATTO

HERE ME OUT GUYS
You know how there are like, 10 different VA's for male and female player characters, right?
What if, WHAT IF, there was at least ONE SCENE, one important scene, where we actually speak, and SE actually brought in all VAs for male and female PCs to voice the WOL in this one scene?
That would be pretty dope. Not sure what scene it could be, but if we could just get one scene where our player character finally speaks and it's whatever original VA who did the voice option you specifically took for your respective character that'd be awesome.
The time forr that was EW, and they didn't bother. Besides, the voices are all nips screaming or laughing. They don't change by region.
>one important scene, where we actually speak
HATE NEWSPAPERS
aren't the voices shared between languages, since they're only grunts and laughs and shit
the issue would be that they'd have to find soundalikes for EVERY voice, for EVERY language
OH NO IMAGINE THE EFFORT REQUIRED
who is lazier: xiv developers or Mojang?
ok homie tell us how easy it is to find 576 soundalike voice-actors
On that note, will fem hroths just be using existing player character VAs or will they hire someone new for each dub to do them?
only if its like the last bit of that south park game
Why is the pvp season armor always tank armor?
Feels like they already ran out of ideas since all the season-pass armors are pretty samey in actual looks
A caster can look good in armor but a tank/melee dps will never look good in a dress.
Bartz looks good in cloth.
Minwu for Mystic Knight look.
god i would fricking kill for a mystic knight DPS
Armor designers have been creatively bankrupt since SB.
Only 8 more months to upgrade.
frick that reminds me, I have to get my install off my C drive lmao
can you just move the files or is there some special shit you have to do
I think you can literally just drag and drop the install folder
dunno if you have to do something else on steam
I'm using the windows version, if it were steam I could just do it through that
then yeah. you could always google it just to be sure, but I think just dragging the folder to another location shouldn't cause any issues
sounds like it just werks, guess I'll do it now
>140GB
fricking hell
isn't the game like 90GB atm?
what's with the humongous leap in filesize?
Pretty significant texture and graphical bump-up for all expansions *on top* of Dawntrail being added
Didn't you hear?
I must be the only person who thinks the graphical upgrade looks worse. It looks like an overdone reshade filter. Some shit like the scales and increased clutter in environments do look better though.
I mostly want a more firm demonstration besides basic fly-bys and some rotating character faces to make a firm judgment on it. I don't mind the characters having a slight shine to it so long as they don't become plastic-y, because by god everyone's either solid clay blocks of awkward flesh right now or you have the shitty character lighting enabled, but the PBR for items and environments really caught my eye.
When upscaling textures the size of the game grows exponentially with more stuff added into it
74.3GB, and 140GB is probably not the full sheer size but partly the install space needed to be able to get things on there before deduplicating the download I assume
yeah, probably something like that
the game is 74.3GB atm, but the download is 91GB
I still think those are ridiculously high recommended requirements for an MMO.
>poorgay
I have much better hardware, but if this significantly drops my fps, and especially minimum fps, I am not happy. Performance should already be better than it is.
I initially didn't care about Scream as a song until I LIVED it through a Primals concert. Now as far as I'm concerned it's in the top ten of the entire soundtrack.
Now to grind out a frickton of materia melds.
Now we're getting somewhere. Curtana & Holy Shield Novus
The shield has an effect on it that reminds me of Protect, I like it.
I never noticed the protect patterning
if dawntrail doesnt have evil women in it i dont want it
If only.
Only jobs who don't exhaust/annoy me after 3 pulls are WHM and RDM. Which do I main until Dawntrail for deep dungeon, EX farm, and maps?
WAR
it's GcDs put me to sleep because theres no sense of power to them. Outside of Fell cleaves.
Old lighting hits different
Thats nothing.
Wow that looks really goo-
>That gameplay
Well those graphics look great at least
that gameplay was outdated long before the game even came out.
yeah thats 1.0.
Game was pretty, and visually has more soul than XIV does now, but thats literally the only good thing about it.
had quite a bit of good mocap too
should've used that budget to make not shit gameplay
also from what I remember the game ran like absolute shit
plays better than modern xiv but that isn't saying much, too bad it ran like shit
Like I genuinely believe anyone praising 1.0 graphics and animations are straight up gaslighting me or just insane.
it's just xiv thread contrarianism
Why are FFXIV players so hypocritical?
You do organize your jobs alphabetically, right?
Nope, they're ordered from when I leveled them.
No I only play 3
They're ordered
>Fending
>Maiming
>Striking
>Scouting
>Aiming
>Casting
>Healing
>Gathering
>Crafting
No, I order them by role and then by how much I play them within each role.

Hopes and fears for Saturday?
Hopes? Beastmaster as a limited job. I think it's the most likely thing they could do to get me to resub. Major fight/job design overhaul isn't happening
Fears? It'll be just like any other fanfest where they waste 15 minutes talking about beast tribes or other superfluous shit
>limited job
Never happening again, BLU was too much of a spectacular failure to ever consider another one
What is there to hope? We will get more trailer, a class reveal and possibly fem hroth. YoshiP will completely exaggerate shit again, we will see new screenshots of 2 channel dyeable clothing and thats that.
What hope?
>another third of the trailer
>job
>concept art
>some gay surprise like XVI crossover that's a solo instance instead of something with an ounce of effort like the Rathalos fight.
Thancred
Hien
G'raha
Pipin
Custom deliveries except without crafting then
It's kind of corny but I would actually enjoy the companionship thing
Everyone would get to pick their favorite
yeah, i dont get it why they haven't done something about that. people really like the XIV cast, it is a shame we barely see them during down time/private time. would be very little effort unless they would voice that stuff or have it matter in the msq in a significant way.
Would be fine, about time really. The cuckposting would be wondrous with Yshotla/Yugiri/SteppeGang.
Actually letting people have a Husbando/Waifu in the game would tie people even more than a housing plot to it, especially if they kept putting little updates in the system every patch. I am legit surprised they haven't done that yet.
>they introduce a lottery system per world to date npcs
>Pipin

I want to know if COR(or whatever it's going to be named) will have a fast or slow GCD
Probably going to have to wait a while for job stuff at all
It'll be RDM without casting spells but instead with shooting gun and a melee phase.
>I want to know if COR(or whatever it's going to be named) will have a fast or slow GCD
Probably fast. So far, all melees that share gear have had mostly similar GCD speed, and COR will share with NIN.
Soon.
I can only play ningger anymore.

same shit, different slop
I don't think the last ultimate was very fun.
Cleared all 5 of them, and while Omega was clearly the hardest, it was by far much less fun compared to Dragonsong or Alexander.
Felt very artificial, and I hope the guy who made it (criterion dungeon savage) learned and doesn't make it similar in the future or just doesn't work on them at all.
Also, FRICK the third part of phase 5 part where you have to adjust depending on everyone's debuff. Dodging to the rays is easy, but it's so fricking aids having to read 8 sets of debuffs while doing it.
debuff vomit is lazy and a garbage design philosophy no matter the difficulty of the fight
TEA was a complete fluke given its the same designer, only bad part about TEA is the cutscene+immobile boss in the last phase plus the weapons, but that's a small price to pay for what was one of the best fights on release and still has the best enrage.
>shoehorns dynamis because it's the brand new thing,
???? omega copies limit breaks and uses red 13's in o12 for a reason
Dynamis didn't exist in SB and putting the current expansion buzzword in old content is tacky.
Next you're gonna tell me that DSR's alternate timeline is too marvel-esque.
>hey guys did you know EVERYONE FRICKING DIES IF YOU SAVE HORSEFART
I dunno, it's something, but it's not marvelesque. EW is pretty marvelesque, come to think of it.
They didn't "stumble" onto it, they literally cheated without knowing how to do the mechanic. There's a reason TEA has the longest period between WF and WS of any ult. They're the reason why you can't set markers during combat anymore.
You must be mistaking the waymarker stuff for the Heart puzzle, which Sfia on record has said they've only found out because of a mistake.
But yes, they did use waymarks for iirc aoe spam into stack shit.
I'm fine with the interesting stuff they add, Ultimates SHOULD feel like a true route in a game.
DPS checks for Omega was great, the checks were real. It's just as
>Remembering how they killed SKS samurai and pigeonholed everyone to crit
Omega fricking gay what they did
Thing is, pure execution fights tend to be considered very easy.
It's like beating a Dark souls boss by studying his every move until it's a flowchart
>is not my idea*
Limit breaks are dynamis. Thus dynamis was retconned to have always been in the game since the beginning, you just never knew what to call it other than dynamis. It was all just force of will (power of friendship) all along.
>Limit breaks are dynamis
NTA and I'm ok with this but they gotta explain why ancients can use LB in that Elpis dungeon
They'll come up with some asspull, like "oh they imagined a powerful attack, capable of saving them at their most dire situation"
Don't forget to ask how Elidibus could use LBs in his fight.
>shoehorns dynamis because it's the brand new thing
Ultimates aren't canon. It's literally a bard making shit up.
it is just a story made up by the minstrel ok golbez armor motivation autist?
>golbez armor motivation autist
What the frick is this forced meme these past few threads? This bizarre attempt to associate the following anons

keep up golbez armor motivation autist
>first you didnt know what it meant and now youre mad and saying it wont catch on
>keep up golbez armor motivation autist
Can someone explain what the frick this moron is even talking about or should we just ignore him?
>AAAIIIIIEEEEE ARMOR DADDY SAVE ME!!!! SHOULD WE RUN???
Dynamis is the Midiclorians of FFXIV
That makes no sense. The stories theme doesn't change whatsoever if I call the power of love and friendship dynamis instead.
You people only defend Wormhole: the fight because the rest of the fight after that is barely at the level of an Extreme fight.
It's actually because TEA is the first ult shadowbabs did (in 5.5). Nobody who cleared TEA in 5.1 thinks it's the best.
But personally, the devs meta enforcing how jobs play is fricking gay as
BLM has sucked for the majority of this new PVP system in EW.
Bro...bro lol. It sucked for S1 and then became a menace that still isn't reigned back to a proper level.
>CC
You have to look at the entire PVP system, It's garbage in FL and RW. Overall it's the weakest of the casters across every mode, arguably the ranged as a whole.
All the balance is done around CC, chud, so that's all that matters. RW and FL balance is an afterthought, and deservedly so for a roulette mode and moba.
>He thinks anyone cares about a cheater infested mode with a tiny playerbase.
Doesn't change the fact that BLM is extremely weak in 2 out of 3 modes, the modes with far far more players and activity.
>he thinks anyone cares about a cheater infested mode with a tiny playerbase.
That's pvp as a whole lol.
It's definitely not garbage in RW with its permanent LB, sounds like skill issue.
>consider doing unreals
>"oh right they're the minstrel's ballads renamed and current-spec, so above savage but not quite ultimate"

Why are we pretending like the Dynamis/Omega association is exclusive to TOP? The entirety of Endwalker was trying to imply that Dynmais was the actual canonical extra element to us that Omega couldn't grasp, not just this Ultimate's non-canon story.

Catgirl Venat?
How is that different from Ganker threads? You even got waifugays samegayging because no one cares about NPC marriage or whatever gay gacha shit they want in the game.

Yep
Class quests were based and had some of the coolest characters while role quests barely have anything to do with your role any more. Frick this shit why did they ever get rid of them?
The ShB role quests were fantastic, and I liked the way they tied into the Main Story and gave background on Norvrandt. The EW role quests were pretty mediocre, though. Their only real value was giving more time to hang out with cool NPCs (in my case it was just $4, Gosetsu, and Kunny-Senna that I enjoyed).
I do miss class quests and all of that variety and lore. Even if some of them were bad.
aieeee we're going to fall off the catalog

Good thread for what it was.

Hmmm
I don’t get this picture
It's the twelve as their ancient selves.
Ehhh, I still don’t see it. Especially the white haired one on the left
That's the hoodie girl from Euphrosyne, Althyk's sister. The blue hair closest to the pov is Halone, Menphina is the other. It's kinda obvious.
Nah it’s just a bunch of different colored haired girls with no definitive features. Unironically would have been obvious with the dudes
Alisaie and Y'shtola swimsuit scene in Dawntrail or we riot
Now I’m not even remotely good at pvp, but how is BLM good again? Melees seem to one shot me at half health all the time, tanks literally never die unless you ignore them and kill their teammates first. Ranged are dickheads that spam cc while hiding in the back, and all BLM ever did was spam Flare and get killed while everyone ignored the fire DoT.
