It's actually been hilarious watching the naysayers go from "the game will be cancelled or not be made" to "it's gonna be low budget."

No one said that. We said no one will buy part 2 because of the bait and switch part 1 did. And we were right since part 2 flopped hard.
Previously when Remake was announced to be episodic, they claimed it was gonna be like 10 games.
Then they claimed it was gonna be cancelled after Part 1, but then Rebirth was announced.
Then they claimed that it was going to be completely different from OG after Part 1's ending. But then 90% of the overall story beats and progression were the same, and expanded on.
And now here we are, them trying to doompost about that Part 3 is somehow gonna be "low budget" because of a "flop" they made up in their heads. Completely ignoring they have the same team since Part 1, with assets built up across 6+ years of development, and Sony exclusivity funding.
They've been crying about it for years on this anonymous video game message board, and it's been fricking hilarious.

No one was satisfied with Remake's "same, but kind of different" approach and wanted a totally different story for Rebirth (because if they're going to change things, at least commit and go all the way), which they didn't. Everything remains the same, it's so tiring, tbh.
They should decide if they want to do a remake or a sequel already, because the way things are, it is dividing the few fans that the R trilogy has.

Since the PC version is coming in a little over a month and a half, they're probably not going to announce anything until after then. There are going to be holdouts with the PC version coming so soon. I bought the PS5 and PC versions of Remake, but there's no point in doing that with Rebirth.
But, doomposters, consider this:

>Was the top seller on Japanese PS store for February (which was the days of Feb 29-March 2), beating out shit that was there for weeks already.
>#2 seller on PS store for February (same date restrictions) in the US and UK, behind Helldivers, so the sales ceiling is high.
>No indication of US physical sales, but I know plenty who bought it.

Since the Epic deal is dead, we should have a reasonable indication of player count on PC when it comes to Steam in May or soon after. Also, they're selling a bundle with Remake that is attractive to new players, so expect a million or two more sales for Remake added on.
