If you do a single gcd on the pack of enemies as a tank and then start running without doing anything else then any DPS can pull off of you, so another gcd before running off and nothing will pull off of you or cycle through the enemies with the ranged attack if you really don't want to wait

I usually do one ranged attack, and two GCD before i use"dash" to run to the next set as im running i continue the GCD aoes BUT when you dash only half the monsters will ever catch up with you the other half will receive full brunt of the DPS attacks
