Based if done properly
Shit if done badly
Done properly >any MGS except V >bamham mr freeze and maybe gigabane from origins >chaos theory shetland bomb defusal bit (except how janky the room is) >intravenous house siege level
Done badly >the final boss of the first styx game, which forces you to use combat for the very first time in the entire game
I think its fine. The problem with Metal Gear is that they kept on making the games less about stealth and more about action and It really made MGS Phantom Pain distasteful for me when the most optimal way was to just kill everyone.
significantly better than the opposite, action games with a forced stealth section
>"This turd is smaller, therefore it's better."
Would you rather eat a small shit or a large shit?
I'd rather not at all. You however seem accustomed to consuming excrement it seems.
You don't have a third option, never will, never had, moron
shut up, shit eater
>food analogy
mgs is action stealth.
just make it a good boss that makes use of the stealth mechanics
>makes use of the stealth mechanics
Name one MGS boss that does this
Vulcan Raven
The End
The Boss
fatman, to some degree also
I forgot Crying Wolf from 4, which is basically a worse The End but with minions.
And she fights you in a single environment instead of broken up in 3 rooms. I think the End is still better but Crying Wolf is up there for MGS bosses
The fury and the end are the only two I can think of.
Combat should be a punishment.
based if the dev gives the player the choice to defeat the boss stealthily
Based because it's the most dangerous situation
stealth espionage action
It's good in games with proper action mechanics like Metal Gear and Tenchu.
fely immersion breaking in deus ex human revolution.

Based if they're like MGS and the boss battles are super weird and atypical for the combat system.

I would say it depends. MGS bosses are basically puzzles and they're generally really creative.
Always bad. No exceptions
Any examples of a food stealth boss? Like a boss that detects the enemy in a different way or something
Good*
