Not a single game does that

I'm sure that Just Cause downfall was caused by exact youtuber. Just Cause 2 fas fun action movie romp with car chases, but than that homosexual NerdCubed really got into the game, but with certain angle, that it's fun physical sandbox. So 3 and 4 went this route. More physical shit like tethers, but character is so mobile he doesn't even need cars anymore.
Maybe it's just the case of powercreep, but still.

Bolopatch was hugely popular, with the main draw being the ability to attach more hooks to shit. And most of the game's media was just people fricking around with the grappling hook and explosives, strapping them to people, strapping people to each other, riding propane tanks and such. Focusing on the grappling hook/physics gimmicks was the obvious route to go.

it's usually a mix of the two. i've worked in the industry and every QA person i've met has been more or less dead weight. most of the industry people i've talked to have had similar remarks. but they do also report a lot of bugs that don't ever get fixed. sometimes it's because they aren't even bugs like "hey i'm not taking damage while i'm walking through a fog wall in dark souls" and other times it's because the game company is a mismanaged mess that didn't allocate time and resources for fixing bugs in time for release

          [...]
to be fair the devs probably wouldn't pursue that stuff if it wasn't also fun for them. this kinda stuff only becomes an issue if the devs hate their own game and don't care about playing it themselves (though this happens way more often than you'd think)

Sure, I'd say problem is not "more physics" per se, but muddled direction.

Dragonflight is the biggest bomb WoW has seen aside from Warlords of Draenor. If influencers can't get fired can they at least get permabanned and industry blacklisted when they subject everyone else to this? It's kind of all benefit no risk for them when this happens and both the players and developers suffer

It's not nearly the only or really even the biggest reason but Total War Warhammer. Constantly buffing and nerfing units based on what the pvp community (which is less than 1% of the playerbase) demanded. And let me tell you, their demands were basically "We like to play elves and spam skirmishers, buff elves and nerf everything else NOW".

That unit of snipers with shields can counter archers? Nerf.
That giant lizard that spits fireballs can counter archers? Nerf.
An infantry unit actually managed to reach my archers because I was distracted? You better believe that's a nerf.

Because both Fantasy and 40k assume the stance of "Elves are an army of elites who can fulfill every role". In tabletop this is balanced by their troops always being relatively more expensive compared to everyone else, so you can't bring as many. In videogames where your economy is a factor exterior to the battle itself... they're just flat out op.

DoW1 also thought it'd be hilarious if they were all invisible and could teleport which is just incredibly stupid too.

it's an important department but the people who work in QA are generally morons who can't handle an actual technical job like programming. a typical QA bug report involves no steps to replicate and half the time there is no bug and the QA guy just misunderstood how the game worked

        Anonymous

        >QA is always useless
Not exactly. QA usually does their job, but publisher or devs themselves are perfectly aware they can't fix everything, immediately or ever. QA is almost always ignored baring game breaking bugs.

Well having played warno since they released ea, i have greatly learned that people who play ranked are some of the most obnoxious people imaginable, their balance suggestions are based on some of the most asinine things they lose because of, and it doesnt help that balancing based off player feedback is reliant on your players playing the game normally and not like a monkey. No, tanks should be vilnerable in close quarters, and not able to shrug off a million rockets and no the fact a tank costs five times an inf squad doesnt mean it can sgrug off 5 inf squads for free. And only recently did they get the helicopter probelm fixed because they were too tanky and aa wasnt scaring them off as expected making them the most obnoxious unit to deal with. You never even know if the good players are good because they are or that they are pretty much just taking advantage of a meta. In the end they just had one guy take over balance suggestions and having him officially partnered as he also programs changes and frankly just setting an expectation and having other players test it if it acheives the directed goal such as snapping off a meta, like reducing heli tankiness. Oddly enough this works better than what most game attempt at balancing. Looking at you COH3

also barring quality of life improvements or something, actual game balancing today is relatively hard in games because we live in the age where nerds will put hundreds if not more hours in and will minmax the shit out of the game and always find a meta and a lot of the time the game gets competitive for unnecessary moronic reasons

It’s the worst when game devs take feedback from speedrunners or the “speedrunner community”. Yeah I get if the devs want to make their game enjoyable to speedrun and if they don’t want to patch out speedrunning bugs that don’t affect normal gameplay that’s fine, but a lot of devs take feedback for the main part of the game from speedrunners. And then the speedrunner will say on a later stream “lol I never played this game normally, I never even watched the cutscenes without skipping. I just speedrun it because I like the communtiy.”
