it's pretty easy to skip atleast one of the bloodthirst moves on golem, if you think you're fast enough, you can make the beholder thing smash his face into a pillar and try to insta kill him from there with paralyze/slow etc

Last slot is flex, I use Umbral Eclipse for a little bit of utility but Violent Shadows is ok too. Ideally it would be better if he had a 3rd skill that chains into a charged attack but he doesn't.
It seems they intend him to be a tank but aside from Immortal Pain he doesn't have a lot of sustain. He gets additional Drain on Forgotten Tales but in the endgame Drain is basically worthless.
So build him for straight damage. Quick Charge, Skill Cooldown and the obligatory damage cap and quality of life traits
His drain skill has higher cap than usual drain sigils so it still heals a decent amount end game. Also they stack but that still doesnt make wasting sigil slots on drain worth it
The fight is basically a training dummy if you have someone who can get 100% SBA meter before Vallanza gets up from break at 50%. Same principle as Proto Baha, 2x2 chain on burst him from 50 to 0, stun Maglielle and go into Link Time, then do 2x2 chain bursts on her again. We never saw a single Bloodlust.
Lyria's Journal in the options menu then press Trophy's. Press X on controller to claim all rewards. There's a ton of free stuff in here. Bunch of Ambrosia too if you need the MSP

Blue pots give 2% link meter, with no extra buffs
It is linked together that increases the link amount you get NOT stun, stun just obviously does more stun.
Logic is you put them both together. Do more stun so you stun faster, with link together so you get more link and do more damage with link attacks.
Neither decreases cooldown between stuns though.
With AI if you slot loads of stun and link together on the whole team you nuke shit super fast, you get more damage from a link attack that any sort of other damage source, SBA included.
I slot it like this for my team to farm the metal gear heads as the one needs a link attack to get S+++++

I dont think there is one that increases duration of link, all that increases duration of link is the multitude of attacks, its why multi hitting attacks do much more damage in link time.
What you should be doing in link time is just spamming light attacks and skills to increase link time.
I am a percy main and 2 of his skills really hit multiple times and can increase the link time quite a lot, as well as spamming light attack in between.
You can test all this out on the dummy.
Linked together the sigil/buff increases the amount of link you get from sources.
Increases the amount of link blue potions give but only by a few %, I think I have had myself at 22 link together (2 level 11 V sigils) and blue pots give me 6% link.
As well as increases how much link you get from the actual chain attack.
IMO if you are going for a link build its best to slot stun and linked together to maximize your link gains (link together) with how quick you can do a chain attack (stun)

try it against the dummy.
Say example, no stun buff, say it takes 25 light attacks to get the dummy in stun, then you can chain attack which gives you link %.

Link together increases link gained (and damage done) from the chain attack.
Stun increases the amount of stun you do to get the chain attack.

No stun
Takes you 30 seconds continuously attacking the enemy to get it into stun, enemy might not stand still for you to get stun etc but disregard that for the example.
With full stun, takes 10 seconds of attacking the enemy to get into stun.
That is a 66% increases in stun.
Not counting the benefits of link attack, damage it does, opportunities it can arise, like hitting the enemy out of their animation attacks...etc.
Then there is a static 30 second cooldown before it can be stunned be done again.
Exponentially over the match the DPS of a stun build is gonna increase, as well as the damage potential and other effects like knocking out of animations. Where other builds the DPS is gonna be flat.
Then you pair that with linked together...More link gain, more opportunity for chain attack, as well as damage done with normal link attacks.
The DPS over the match could potentially be much more than just stacking crit, or damage sigils/buffs.

There are several times where I’ve just barely reached / missed a stun because of them entering Bloodlust, where having more Stun power would have helped. This happens much more often if you intentionally time stall abilities to buy you more time for your next stun, which is a great way to skip phases.

I started playing Rackam yesterday and I already have 19k power. The first character is the hardest to gear. Just give the leftovers to the rest of them.
You get to choose who to unlock early on and what order you unlock dudes in.
You only have one basic combos, but unlock more skills. Other characters have different combos and are more complex.
Who fits the rogue archetype better, Lancelot or the little gui with double katanas? Game looks decently fun, but if the skills don't add a bit more flair to it I think it might start to become a bit repetitive. How's the endgame grind?
Lancelot’s unique attack is a repositioning tool that also dodges attacks (even has i-frames). He’s the most mobile character in the game, but he’s pretty simple to use.
Yodarha’s “just” DPS, with a unique mechanic about gaining a resources by landing his combo finisher, which is then used to power up his skills.
I think Lance is probably what you’re looking for if you want a rogue kinda character.
Endgame grind is about efficiently killing bosses. It’s like MonHun.

Character exp and MSP isn't even that difficult to get. I already have 16 characters at level 100 and around 6 that are 100% offense/defense masteries. The weapons are what fricking sucks.

Seriously, block. Proto Bahamuts blue lasers can be blocked with no downside, a lot of boss patterns can just be blocked.

The potato's attacks barely hurt, the thing that catches a lot of people off guard is when Gallanza starts doing room wide spear pokes, blocking is usually the best chance here.

I usually just ignore the potato, her attacks are all telegraphed heavily by glowing red shit so leave her alone and dodge them while focusing Biggie.
On the other hand i feel like Biggie can just jump at your from across the entire area and frick you in the ass with his explosions without much warning.
If you're playing with a coordinated team one person can distract Magielle away from everyone but they still need to be on guard to dodge Gallanza randomly flying across the fricking room
Do you guys prefer evade or block sigils? I use a evade 5 that lets me dodge 7 times in a row but I'm thinking about switching to guard because sometimes I frick up the dodge timing
You can guard without any sigils just fine.
When Proto dos the blue laser swipes i just stand still and block it all without any problems, zero block related sigils.

I think stun is good when you can hit thresholds ie using your stun move +one more attack for a faster stun versus your stun move only doing 25% and hoping the rest of the party can follow up.
It's not good at building link faster (unless you count indirectly by triggering the stun cooldown faster, letting you get to the next stun sooner) but it does let you stop certain attacks on demand by holding your stun move for when you want to use it

just finished chapter 'relink' and i like this game a lot but holy shit this is the hardest game to read that i've ever played
i'm playing on hard mode and regular enemies/minibosses feel like i'm playing on normal, the challenge fights are tanky and typically require me starting with ougi to clear the timed part, bosses are long ordeals entirely made up of me getting hit by and one shot by literally everything but still clearing first try because it's impossible to fail with the revive system. then i'll unlock the boss fight at the quest counter and that shit fricking melts.
i played nier automata on hard as well, and even in the prologue when after 40 minutes i made it to the boss, got one shot, and had to restart the game again, i felt better about it because i could recognize "oh yeah i fricked up" but here it's like "wtf how was i supposed to dodge that???" and it feels worse even though there are no consequences.
anyway the final update better make the harvin playable. she also better get in the gacha and rising.
i wouldn't do that unless you truly have horrific v+ sigils, different atk mods are multiplicative while stacking the same mod is only additive, so you want to use different atk mods. something like concentrated fire or combo booster would be much better. idk if rackam uses charged attacks a lot, if he does you can use that too

here's how the game works
you all equip linked together, potion hoarder and the usual dps sigils
you go into link time by the third link attack
you blow up the boss in a full chain
if the boss is still not dead you go into link time again because the chain refilled the link meter to 100%
you do not need stun power this whatsoever
i wouldn't do that unless you truly have horrific v+ sigils, different atk mods are multiplicative while stacking the same mod is only additive, so you want to use different atk mods. something like concentrated fire or combo booster would be much better. idk if rackam uses charged attacks a lot, if he does you can use that too
Something like concentrated fire would increase rackhams DPS much more than damage cap.
He does use charge attacks a lot but seeing he is ranged it is not always the best choice for him.
Because it increases the damage off the attack you will be continously using.
Unless you are reaching damage cap with every light attack, which you are clearly not with that build because you haven't got sigils stacking light attack damage, you still have much more room to do damage on his light attack, something that rackham is constantly using.
I've done Bahamut 20 times and only gotten 2 terminus weapons
At least one was for Eugen but he'd need a lot of secondary grinding to get caught up to my main so far

Finishing combos/link attacks gives you a shroud stack, which empower your skills, you skills/link attacks can be immediately followed up by a finishing combo to keep your stacks up, and every time you do a finishing combo the combo chain shrinks by one to the point you're doing attack > finishing attack > attack > finishing attack which is where a lot of damage comes from.
One of his character sigils that gives you a 75% chance not to consume shroud stacks when using abilities is a must, it gives you the chance to build shroud stacks using your skills immediately.

Dont do to much damage yourself in the early part of the quest.
Wait for leg batteries to open, break all 4 batteries, it crumples, aerial attack head and break it, spam you blue potions (potion hoarder levelled helps for more more) wait for it to stun, link attack, chain attack, nuke.
I can get this consistently and only takes like 2 mins or less per run.
now silver centrum is another mission...need to farm multiple quests to get mats to trade for that shit.
Eugen is so fricking fun. I don't normally go for ranged characters in games like this, but being able to just punch shit and the feedback his cannon shots have on the DualSense just make him feel great. I'm also a sucker for grizzled mentor characters but that's neither here nor there.

Sigils I get but grinding specifically for MSP just seems counter productive, you get them passively by playing.
There is a difference in outlooks though, like I seen on YT when the game first released on PS5, people grinding out every character to 100 instantly, seen gays on PC using trainers for double XP, see people AFK farming shit.
All not realising that the game is MEANT to be a grind, and all they are doing is trying to circumvent a grind to get shit done faster.
Like what do you then do when all characters are maxxed out....game is over.
Of course I am not saying I am not grinding because its the point of the game but never have I needed to grind for MSP or rupies or sigils, they all come naturally just playing.
Like my next grind is for A silver centrum for an awakening level and I guess it will be the same after...
When I start a next character I will just do every quest again and naturally I will have all MSP and all materials I need with minimal grinding just by doing the quests.

The only bad one is Ghandagoza, everyone else is more than fine.
The two noticeably top tier characters, Ferry and Rackam, are extremely boring to play optimally, you literally just spam jump attacks so i wouldn't even bother playing them that way and they are equal to others when played normally.
You beat chapter 0 with Id. It will tell you to beat some quest that unlocks the harder difficulties. This could either go very smoothly or badly depending on who you get paired up with.
A while from where you are now. You're going to be desperate for rupies, exp, and msp. You will have a hard time completing quests alone and it will take forever to find anyone online to do them with you. And by the time you reach proud difficulty many hours from now it won't even be worth it because there is nothing to do after.
Have 3x Damage Cap V, 1x Damage Cap IV, 5 damage cap levels from Brionac and another 6 damage cap levels from imbued stone. I'm still capped. Do I upgrade my sigils or try to fit one more Damage Cap V?
Hinestly dont bother wasting your materials upgrading sigils that are not V+ unless they are really fricking useful, like an improved dodge.

My first terminus weapon drop was for Vane and I fully built him for it. I'd say yes even if that is someone you don't play. It just helps to have someone with a maxed out terminus weapon.
Irony is that the last proud mission, that one is one of the easiest.

it's pretty easy to skip atleast one of the bloodthirst moves on golem, if you think you're fast enough, you can make the beholder thing smash his face into a pillar and try to insta kill him from there with paralyze/slow etc

Last slot is flex, I use Umbral Eclipse for a little bit of utility but Violent Shadows is ok too. Ideally it would be better if he had a 3rd skill that chains into a charged attack but he doesn't.
It seems they intend him to be a tank but aside from Immortal Pain he doesn't have a lot of sustain. He gets additional Drain on Forgotten Tales but in the endgame Drain is basically worthless.
So build him for straight damage. Quick Charge, Skill Cooldown and the obligatory damage cap and quality of life traits
His drain skill has higher cap than usual drain sigils so it still heals a decent amount end game. Also they stack but that still doesnt make wasting sigil slots on drain worth it

The fight is basically a training dummy if you have someone who can get 100% SBA meter before Vallanza gets up from break at 50%. Same principle as Proto Baha, 2x2 chain on burst him from 50 to 0, stun Maglielle and go into Link Time, then do 2x2 chain bursts on her again. We never saw a single Bloodlust.

Logic is you put them both together. Do more stun so you stun faster, with link together so you get more link and do more damage with link attacks.
Neither decreases cooldown between stuns though.
With AI if you slot loads of stun and link together on the whole team you nuke shit super fast, you get more damage from a link attack that any sort of other damage source, SBA included.
I slot it like this for my team to farm the metal gear heads as the one needs a link attack to get S+++++

I dont think there is one that increases duration of link, all that increases duration of link is the multitude of attacks, its why multi hitting attacks do much more damage in link time.
What you should be doing in link time is just spamming light attacks and skills to increase link time.
I am a percy main and 2 of his skills really hit multiple times and can increase the link time quite a lot, as well as spamming light attack in between.
You can test all this out on the dummy.
Linked together the sigil/buff increases the amount of link you get from sources.
Increases the amount of link blue potions give but only by a few %, I think I have had myself at 22 link together (2 level 11 V sigils) and blue pots give me 6% link.
As well as increases how much link you get from the actual chain attack.
IMO if you are going for a link build its best to slot stun and linked together to maximize your link gains (link together) with how quick you can do a chain attack (stun)
STUN increases the amount of stun damage you do, i.e you get into a stun faster.
try it against the dummy.
Say example, no stun buff, say it takes 25 light attacks to get the dummy in stun, then you can chain attack which gives you link %.
With stun buff it takes you 15 light attacks to get into stun... (IDK how many attacks just as example)

Not counting the benefits of link attack, damage it does, opportunities it can arise, like hitting the enemy out of their animation attacks...etc.
Then there is a static 30 second cooldown before it can be stunned be done again.
Exponentially over the match the DPS of a stun build is gonna increase, as well as the damage potential and other effects like knocking out of animations. Where other builds the DPS is gonna be flat.
Then you pair that with linked together...More link gain, more opportunity for chain attack, as well as damage done with normal link attacks.
The DPS over the match could potentially be much more than just stacking crit, or damage sigils/buffs.

you get the same amount of stuns whether you have additional stun power or not. the boss's stun meter goes on a very long cooldown after a successful stun, which also takes a laughably small amount of attacks to break. what dictates how many stuns you get is effectively how long the fight goes on for

Not part of the converstation so far but blue pots do indeed give link meter, its very small amount but it does. Can be helpful when the meter is at like 98% and you want link time on next link chance
Using blue pots for link is very useful for killing proto baha if you don't want to hold ougi for the dps check.
There are several times where I’ve just barely reached / missed a stun because of them entering Bloodlust, where having more Stun power would have helped. This happens much more often if you intentionally time stall abilities to buy you more time for your next stun, which is a great way to skip phases.

I started playing Rackam yesterday and I already have 19k power. The first character is the hardest to gear. Just give the leftovers to the rest of them.

You get to choose who to unlock early on and what order you unlock dudes in.
You only have one basic combos, but unlock more skills. Other characters have different combos and are more complex.
Who fits the rogue archetype better, Lancelot or the little gui with double katanas? Game looks decently fun, but if the skills don't add a bit more flair to it I think it might start to become a bit repetitive. How's the endgame grind?
Lancelot’s unique attack is a repositioning tool that also dodges attacks (even has i-frames). He’s the most mobile character in the game, but he’s pretty simple to use.
Yodarha’s “just” DPS, with a unique mechanic about gaining a resources by landing his combo finisher, which is then used to power up his skills.
I think Lance is probably what you’re looking for if you want a rogue kinda character.
Endgame grind is about efficiently killing bosses. It’s like MonHun.

I think stun is good when you can hit thresholds ie using your stun move +one more attack for a faster stun versus your stun move only doing 25% and hoping the rest of the party can follow up.
It's not good at building link faster (unless you count indirectly by triggering the stun cooldown faster, letting you get to the next stun sooner) but it does let you stop certain attacks on demand by holding your stun move for when you want to use it

just finished chapter 'relink' and i like this game a lot but holy shit this is the hardest game to read that i've ever played
i'm playing on hard mode and regular enemies/minibosses feel like i'm playing on normal, the challenge fights are tanky and typically require me starting with ougi to clear the timed part, bosses are long ordeals entirely made up of me getting hit by and one shot by literally everything but still clearing first try because it's impossible to fail with the revive system. then i'll unlock the boss fight at the quest counter and that shit fricking melts.
i played nier automata on hard as well, and even in the prologue when after 40 minutes i made it to the boss, got one shot, and had to restart the game again, i felt better about it because i could recognize "oh yeah i fricked up" but here it's like "wtf how was i supposed to dodge that???" and it feels worse even though there are no consequences.
anyway the final update better make the harvin playable. she also better get in the gacha and rising.

i wouldn't do that unless you truly have horrific v+ sigils, different atk mods are multiplicative while stacking the same mod is only additive, so you want to use different atk mods. something like concentrated fire or combo booster would be much better. idk if rackam uses charged attacks a lot, if he does you can use that too

Because it increases the damage off the attack you will be continously using.
Unless you are reaching damage cap with every light attack, which you are clearly not with that build because you haven't got sigils stacking light attack damage, you still have much more room to do damage on his light attack, something that rackham is constantly using.

Finishing combos/link attacks gives you a shroud stack, which empower your skills, you skills/link attacks can be immediately followed up by a finishing combo to keep your stacks up, and every time you do a finishing combo the combo chain shrinks by one to the point you're doing attack > finishing attack > attack > finishing attack which is where a lot of damage comes from.
One of his character sigils that gives you a 75% chance not to consume shroud stacks when using abilities is a must, it gives you the chance to build shroud stacks using your skills immediately.
What sigils should I use for zeta? I'm just unlocking proud so I haven't been paying attention. I just use atk up stuff.

Wait for leg batteries to open, break all 4 batteries, it crumples, aerial attack head and break it, spam you blue potions (potion hoarder levelled helps for more more) wait for it to stun, link attack, chain attack, nuke.
I can get this consistently and only takes like 2 mins or less per run.

It was the opposite for me. Even seeing the dragons all have different set ups was surprising. And then they hit you with the light and dark dragons at the end which had fun mechanics.

think the maniac's have like a 30% chance or something for those to drop. I had to do maniac Id for Destrudo and maybe got it 1 in three times.

occassionally you'll get a rainbow slime which drops 15k mastery, 3 ambrosia and 500 knickknack vouchers, plus ingots and splendors
Sigils I get but grinding specifically for MSP just seems counter productive, you get them passively by playing.
There is a difference in outlooks though, like I seen on YT when the game first released on PS5, people grinding out every character to 100 instantly, seen gays on PC using trainers for double XP, see people AFK farming shit.
All not realising that the game is MEANT to be a grind, and all they are doing is trying to circumvent a grind to get shit done faster.
Like what do you then do when all characters are maxxed out....game is over.
Of course I am not saying I am not grinding because its the point of the game but never have I needed to grind for MSP or rupies or sigils, they all come naturally just playing.
Like my next grind is for A silver centrum for an awakening level and I guess it will be the same after...
When I start a next character I will just do every quest again and naturally I will have all MSP and all materials I need with minimal grinding just by doing the quests.

I pretty much spent the whole campaign spamming Rackam's charged shots. Never actually tried the jump shotgun.
The only bad one is Ghandagoza, everyone else is more than fine.
The two noticeably top tier characters, Ferry and Rackam, are extremely boring to play optimally, you literally just spam jump attacks so i wouldn't even bother playing them that way and they are equal to others when played normally.
ferry is not top tier, at least not in damage
her damage is also bad relative to the other characters if you don't do the jump loop
The ability to spam SBAs to effectively stunlock bosses is still top tier.
Should Ferry be running any uplift?

You beat chapter 0 with Id. It will tell you to beat some quest that unlocks the harder difficulties. This could either go very smoothly or badly depending on who you get paired up with.
A while from where you are now. You're going to be desperate for rupies, exp, and msp. You will have a hard time completing quests alone and it will take forever to find anyone online to do them with you. And by the time you reach proud difficulty many hours from now it won't even be worth it because there is nothing to do after.
Just do every quest in order...
That it. When you need X material for something you want, just wishlist it and go to a quest where it drops.

Have 3x Damage Cap V, 1x Damage Cap IV, 5 damage cap levels from Brionac and another 6 damage cap levels from imbued stone. I'm still capped. Do I upgrade my sigils or try to fit one more Damage Cap V?

Hinestly dont bother wasting your materials upgrading sigils that are not V+ unless they are really fricking useful, like an improved dodge.
Maybe the unique ones dont get V+, never seen one, like potion hoarder so you could level that too.
What you want is damage cap V+.

I also have a 2 mastery sigils with that color, special I got from curios. Increase MSP drop rate. They might drop on a second too? Or if not they are unique to curios.
Roll the Dice, Supplemental Damage, War Elemental, and the mastery point up thing seem to be Curio exclusive. Might be others.
Yeah makes sense that they would not be on a usual V+ if they are unique to curios.
Never know they might drop as doubles in curios though, like all those effects have chance to drop in a V+ with the others but only from curios.

combo 1 if you cant get in melee and want a fast collapse
combo 2 for aoe
combo 3 every chance you get
combo 4 when the boss isnt moving for the next 10 seconds
most of you damge is from collapse though, always charge to ++
Combo 2 is for stun more so than AoE.
Combo 4 should never be used after you get the CD reduction sigil since Combo 3 procs it like mad.
