I would've agreed with this in the past, but the core of Bruce's development in the movie is realizing Batman shouldn't just strike fear into the hearts of criminals, but also hope into the hearts of the citizens.

Honestly, with how much tech the guy has, the options are pretty narrow for who he could be. Its not like a Clark Kent thing where he's pretending to be some random unassuming schmuck. He's obviously being funded by someone with access to high tech military gear, and there can't be many defense contractors in Gotham that the company couldn't be pinned down. Even if in public he just acts like a playboy, given Bruce's very public stance on law and order in Gotham, he's an obvious candidate to be funding a high tech vigilante. The fact that no one in Gotham seems capable of putting the two together is pretty unbelieveable, though I guess people like Joker throw a wrench in that by being mostly self funded in his terrorism, though I don't think his contraptions are as high tech as say the batmobile.

They should just have Roger Craig Smith (Batman voice in Origins) come back and voice either more young Bruce (like before Origins) or old Bruce in a Beyond game. He was surprisingly good.

DC doesn't really work for reading at the beginning, Golden Age is just weird and outdated. If isn't really true for Marvel's Silver Age though, you can just start at the beginning. The original Spider-Man comics hold up very well, and remained good up to the 90s.
Personally I recommend the Artemis run (#90-100) and the John Byrne run (#101-136).

Am I the only one who liked Knight Scarecrow? I know his voice was completely wrong for the same character from Asylum, but it was well acted. His bad villain plans are really no worse than the rest of the writing. The only time his writing truly dipped into full clownshoes was when you're driving in the underground tunnel under Port Adams looking for Ivy's next roots, where he starts inexplicably jerking Batman off and talking about how he represents hope. But for the rest of the game, he is cool and threatening.

Honestly, with how much tech the guy has, the options are pretty narrow for who he could be. Its not like a Clark Kent thing where he's pretending to be some random unassuming schmuck. He's obviously being funded by someone with access to high tech military gear, and there can't be many defense contractors in Gotham that the company couldn't be pinned down. Even if in public he just acts like a playboy, given Bruce's very public stance on law and order in Gotham, he's an obvious candidate to be funding a high tech vigilante. The fact that no one in Gotham seems capable of putting the two together is pretty unbelieveable, though I guess people like Joker throw a wrench in that by being mostly self funded in his terrorism, though I don't think his contraptions are as high tech as say the batmobile.

When you start Batman or Spider-Man or anyone else that started off that far back, it's not nearly as weird as Wonder Woman was. I guess I'll give a 70's or 80's run a try though since I have been interested in getting into her again lately.
DC doesn't really work for reading at the beginning, Golden Age is just weird and outdated. If isn't really true for Marvel's Silver Age though, you can just start at the beginning. The original Spider-Man comics hold up very well, and remained good up to the 90s.
Personally I recommend the Artemis run (#90-100) and the John Byrne run (#101-136).

Am I the only one who liked Knight Scarecrow? I know his voice was completely wrong for the same character from Asylum, but it was well acted. His bad villain plans are really no worse than the rest of the writing. The only time his writing truly dipped into full clownshoes was when you're driving in the underground tunnel under Port Adams looking for Ivy's next roots, where he starts inexplicably jerking Batman off and talking about how he represents hope. But for the rest of the game, he is cool and threatening.
