Right now it's just a few/sporadic terminally online people that know about it and apparently valve has been denying requests. I've been thinking these past few minutes.
With all the connectivity problems HD2 has and the crossplay with snoy being possible, HD2 probably doesn't use steamworks for mp, it probably uses PSN and some sort of guest credentials.
Also hence why the servers were brought to their knees on launch. Snoys shitty servers just couldn't handle all the pc traffic.
So the stuff from snoy about them being unable to track steamids is probably true because they're not exposed to matchmaking.
Even if their bullshit excuse about tracking player IDs is true, they're ignoring the obvious solution staring at them in the face.
All they would have to do is make crossplay opt-in, requiring a PSN ID. No player with a functioning brain would have any issue with this whatsoever. The fact that Arrowhead couldn't figure this out means they deserve all of the blowback, not just greedy Sony executives.
Of course, this is all assuming in good faith that moderation is ACTUALLY the issue and not just a smokescreen for additional data collection and pumping PSN numbers. Either way both Arrowhead and Sony can frick themselves.

Their numbers have been steadily dropping, but this weekend has seen a 50k drop in players vs last Friday, thus far. The peak is always on Sunday. We haven't even seen the real damage yet.
I mean I stopped playing last month when they dropped three consecutive patches making the gunplay and strats purposely less fun while we *STILL* have dozens of launch bugs. The friends list in a co op game being completely broken almost 4 months later is mindbottling and they've just made no attempt to fix it.
That all depends on what happens the day it goes into effect. The majority of players won't be aware of the whole shitstorm, but if they start up the game and get told to make a new account with Sony, many will just close the game and play something else.
Social media/Reddit/Discord complaints are one thing, but this would be a tangible quit-moment that every PC would see.
Not to mention that the negative reviews and bad press will affect future sales of the game and the state of the community.
Only less than 10% of people who bought a game bother to leave a review, now imagine the day when the block comes live, and the 90% of the players get locked, and go to the reviews to see what's going on and it's just red fields.

To be fair, had I realised sooner Arrowhead were the developers behind Magicka and Gauntlet I would't have bought HD2, I do not like their "style of fun" lack of critical bug fixing and the increase in frustration playing HD2 in the last month and a half is perfectly explained now.
