I'm sure they're very upset that they made 60mil overnight and now will face less pressure from active players to add/improve content. It would probably break their hearts if all the players left and they never had to put another penny into the game.
If anything, this whole saga has shown that copying homework and using AI can pay off BIG.
no you are not. the only similarity is that its a monster catching game. gameplay is like a 3rd person survival game with rimworld like colony management but with less depth
>average playtime of 25h in its first month >in 12 days sold more than 12 million copies on steam >millions of players on gamepass >early access >not a battle royale
>be AI game journalist that writes 11 articles per day >write completely expected occurence as something dramatic in the headline >receive no engagement with the article >post it on Ganker >"It's palover"
Oh I wasn't bragging about it. I could see this game would drop off fast, which of course means I would never play it. After all, what's the point of playing any game unless it's the most popular one? You wouldn't wanna play niche shit that you can't even watch streams of in a year's time, right?
I'm genuinely not even sure what this means. It's not a GAAS, it's a one time purchase. It's also not a session based games that are just endless matchmaking. People finished playing it and moved on to another game, what's noteworthy here and what negative impact does it have on anything?
It will probably become gaas in the long run which is fine. The only good gaas games didn't set out to be gaas but did so after the fact since they had the base to do so. All these failed gaas games set out as gaas from the start. They never had the fire to begin with
I've replayed Katana Zero many times at this point. I come back to Hotline Miami yearly. Dawn of War keeps finding its way to my computer. I keep coming back to Batman - Arkham Asylum. I played through Darkest Dungeon several times. I just reinstalled Recettear and started playing through it again.
If a game is genuinely good and actually memorable, you'll want to keep coming back to it and it will actually stay in your memory. Videogames like Palworld are just viral memes for normalgays that have no interest in videogames, existing to only "live" for as long as they continue to have meme status then die out once they're no longer viral.
I cant wait to come back to pal world. I own a server and once I figure out how to get some mods to function I'm going to come back and play this shit at least once a year. There are mods in development right now that will quintuple the amount of pals and skills and resources. Then when pvp comes out you will see some crazy ass Pokemon with rust pvp shit and I'm chomping at the bit to frick with that as well. This game is a lot of people's dream game.
>and once I figure out how to get some mods to function I'm going to come back and play this shit at least once a year
You won't. Especially because you're a marketing drone and not a genuine user.
>early access game >breaks records with its global overnight success, also gets a lot of money too >game has a lot but not that much content to last multiple months >players complete said content in a month >player count understandably drops >"LOOK IT'S LOSING PLAYERS!!!!!! IT'S OVER FOR THEM!!!"
Please tell me you're just pretending to be moronic.
This isn't even news. The only reason its the biggest two-week drop in steam history is because no other one-off game in steam history had the initial player numbers to have a chance to get that drop.
Its not a multiplayer game with longevity in playtime. Its a game you beat and then put down.
it's almost like it was an early access open world survival crafting game that will never be finished for 10 years or more and we've seen and done this several times since like 2013
fricking insane there's coordinated hit pieces on a good game like this. is it just because it put regular triple A devs to shame, despite being EA survival crafting sloppa?
>people were legit pretending this was going to be the Pokemon killer
The absolute delusion of some people that are blinded by hatred is truly hilarious.
>Read as 70% of players have beaten the game and or played enough that they are waiting for more content. >Still has 10x the players as suicide squad >Still had more then enshrouded
203 hours in and I am fighting the urge to play more because I don't want to burn out before there's at least one big content update

>lightning in a bottle can't maintain is voltage after time has a passed
wow....its shocking this early access unfinished game with rather bare bones content couldn't hold more players after just 2 weeks. Back to pokemon lads!
I literally predicted this would happen. All you sheep were jumping on this trend when I was saying its popularity wouldn't last more than a month lmao
Oh woe is the poor indie devs who have a game with 100k+ concurrent players, something that triple A or dare I say quadruple A devs can't even sniff or wish for in their wildest dreams.
Once you've built your base and got most of the upgrades it gets boring. The would should have felt more dangerous like in subnautica, it makes you want to explore.
It's a shock that it got as big as it did but it's no surprise whatsoever if fell off. This happens with every flavor of the month game, especially when it's early access. Fact of the matter is that the game just isn't actually that interesting. It was a novelty but it's still an aimless mess of basic ideas that will never make it to any deep coherent finished product. It will always remain surface level. Nothing will be fleshed out into anything actually interesting and the simple combination of those ideas won't last as a selling point.
Gee I wonder why palworld has no staying power. Could it be because the very first tag for the game is a lie? No... people are never disappointed when a game lies about what's inside of it.
I don’t care how successful this game is or isn’t, I just think it looks shit and it’s a clear ripoff.
Pokémon games have been shit since forever too, by the way. They couldn’t even steal from something good. They just slammed a bunch of mechanics together like mindless chimps. Discord trannies can seethe.
Palworld fans are like a shittier version of pokemon fans. It's like when you poop, but sometimes you have baby shit diarrhea. Same thing at its core, one is just a little uglier.
Palworld and pokemon fans are like peas and carrots, in my shit.
Gee I wonder why palworld has no staying power. Could it be because the very first tag for the game is a lie? No... people are never disappointed when a game lies about what's inside of it.
palgays are getting so desperate lately
they even have their own inside jokes about owning the imaginary tendies that require a constant monitoring of palworld threads to even understand
I'm sure they're very upset that they made 60mil overnight and now will face less pressure from active players to add/improve content. It would probably break their hearts if all the players left and they never had to put another penny into the game.

>death of AAA devs due to AI and copying good stuff
Good
>they made 60mil overnight
it was awful nice of them to make Nintendo that money once they sue their ass and their balls
Any day now! It's not like they've had 5 years to bring a lawsuit! Hahaha
Trial is incoming, give it 2 weeks.
>I'm sure they're very upset that they made 60mil overnight
This. So much THIS.
LEAVE THE MULTIMILLION DOLLAR COMPANY ALONE YOU CHUD BASTERDS
go ahead, troony
stop sucking nintendo's dick
Tendies should be shot
I tend to ignore flavor of the month slop but am I moronic for thinking Palworld is nothing like "Pokemon for PC"?
no you are not. the only similarity is that its a monster catching game. gameplay is like a 3rd person survival game with rimworld like colony management but with less depth
No, shills wanted you to believe it was but they're different genres of games. And that's fine, Palworld does what it wants to do just great.
They didn't use AI, it was just a hoax made up by seething pokégays.
who cares everyone went by the cash register now they don’t even have to finish this slop

lmao imagine playing a game unless it has consistent 500k players for at least 6 months
couldn't be me, I only play marketing-approved games

ok uwu
>People stop playing games after they finish the available content
I'm fricking amazed
This does tell us that it has low staying power if new people are still playing and discussing singleplayer games well after release.

Yeah, because people beat it. There's nothing to do after that. Are these people moronic?

Just makes me want to boycott more AAA and troony slop
Most people where just curious and the novelty factor is over, it's just another Ark clone, the shitstorm was fun to watch.
>people were legit pretending this was going to be the Pokemon killer
The absolute delusion of some people that are blinded by hatred is truly hilarious.
It's a B tier game that sold AAA numbers. It's already massively overperformed expectations.
OH MY GAAAAWD IT'S ONLY SIX HUNDRED THOUSAND PLAYAHS
GUISE IT'S OOONLY SIX HUNDRED THOUSAND PLAYAHS
Palsisters, it's over... P-palsisters??? Where did you g-go? Don't leave m-me a-a-alone...

It still has more than helldivers 2 which the journalists and stuff are shilling as the new thing for some reason.
Looks like we won again.
DUN DA DUN DUN DUN
*fart noises* UH OH STINKY CLEAN IT UP SHAZAMgayS
If the game is dead why are you still crying?
all these paltroons who would rather shill it instead of play that boring slop ITT LMAO
there's unironically more content in arguing than there is in the game
203 hours in and I am fighting the urge to play more because I don't want to burn out before there's at least one big content update

I had to go back to work because I have a mortgage and the gas company is charging me $140 for "delivery and upkeep" on $22 worth of natural gas.

Tendies are subhuman. I can’t wait for these Black folk to be raped on Pokemon Day. The comparison memes are going to be incredible.
All Palworld has shown me is that Tendies are the worst fanbase in gaming
they're called the Cult of Nintendo for a reason
Shut up palgay! Pokemon will continue to inspire the industry with its golden seal of quality assurance!

Nice "multiplayer game" ya got there.

Many such cases.

you’re not fooling anyone, you schizoid homosexual.

Woah...
And yet it's still got the second-highest player count on Steam, behind CS2.
Oh woe is the poor indie devs who have a game with 100k+ concurrent players, something that triple A or dare I say quadruple A devs can't even sniff or wish for in their wildest dreams.

It's doomed to go the way of every open world survival building game.
Wow it’s like it’s not actually good or something
Zoomers are probably the most moronic generation to ever walk on Earth.
I stopped playing. I enjoyed it but it's just after 50 hours there isn't much left to do for now, it's not an MMO.
those Nintendo lawyers are coming, give it two weeks surely
Kek what a blunder. Everyone realized they bought a meme that isn't actually multiplayer pokemon with guns.
Now let's see Pokemon S/V's numbers a month after release
Gee I wonder why palworld has no staying power. Could it be because the very first tag for the game is a lie? No... people are never disappointed when a game lies about what's inside of it.

you're mentally ill OP
>single-player game
do you see any pvp? I know I don't.
PvE.
DVDA
Pokegays are mental, but this is common knowledge
They fit right in palworld threads. The two fanbases are two sides of the same schizo coin.
Pokegays are a special breed, they don't fit in anywhere, there's a reason they have a containment board.
Is that why Pals were so desperately begging for /vp/ to be changed into a monster tamer board/still shill palworld over there now
I-IT IS TIME FOR R-R-REVENGE!
>U-UH UM WHAT IM SUPPOSED TO PLAY THIS ONE GAME FOREVER?????
Always the same "argument" with the same forgettable "goty" FOMO that dies in a month or less.
