How come Mayan culture isn't really represented in games?
It such a cool piece of culture.

Because no one cares about it IRL.
Because it's not
>kill eachother in the most inhumane and painful ways possible to appease your gods
>see funny pale people arriving from the beach
>"buenos dias we are the spanish. Excuse me *cough cough*"
>die
Amazing
Prove sacrificing people doesn't please some sort of god.
They were wiped out and no longer exist, their descendants kill each other in brutal ways to this very day.
>their sacrifices to the gods cursed their people to remain violent indefinitely
>points to Mexico
>then points to America
obvs gods want you to enslave ppl and rape kids, not sacrifice
movie got it wrong, that looks more Aztec than Mayan lmao
idk how to distinguish between aztecs, mayans and andeans
I long for a videogame like red dead redemption 2, but in Colonial South america instead.
Never gonna happen though, we are too much deep into socialism so industry will never grow
The Jew fears the Mayan
The Settlers 4
Argonians
The North American natives were weak, that's why whites took it so easily but in the case of South America... Well let's say whites were not as superior as they thought they were. That's why so many brownies down there and no one cares. if there were more whites then people would care.
>colonial expansion in SA is completed by 16th century
>colonial expansion in NA is completed by 19th century
>South America took longer to colonise
???
..A: Early English settlers were pathetic, only the east cost had some colonization right up to the 18th century, even if they were there since the 16th, and B: the colonization got into warp speed on the 19th century because you know, railways, repeating rifles, scattered bow & arrow tribes, etc.
Wrong Black person, SA bended over to the spanish.
In fact in Brazil they outright culled them out.
The spanish just chose to use them as slave labour instead of cleaning the land which is why their countries are fricking shitholes now while the ones that did, Canada and USA are 1st world nations.
>canada
>first world
>Well let's say whites were not as superior as they thought they were. That's why so many brownies down there
This is the most historically ignorant shit I've read this year so far.
The Spanish SUCCESFULLY colonized SA by granting the natives with LEGAL and VALID marriages with Europeans through the Catholic Church. North American prots just killed them or segregated them.
The reason why SA is so brown is because all the natives were easily converted through marriage.
And good thing too, I'm sure most of them were glad to be rid of human sacrifices to demons.
Is this good?
I think is in development.
No, it's vaporware, made by a güerito mamon
>gets btfo by 10 latinx
Pretty boring
>American Education
Why would we learn about a failed civilization that doesnt matter and no one cares about?
Why would you act like you did?
because history is fun and knowing things is preferable to not knowing things
I would play game where you're conquistadors destroying them
american cultures are too similar to egyptian culture lookswise, it's just brown people wearing animal themed ornaments but in the jungle instead of a desert
but the jungle is cool af
hexes and funny hats as well
Because knights and castles and elves for the millionth time sell better
Because the look fricking moronic if you're trying to portray them with any sort of accuracy.
what makes you think they will have to be portrayed accurately?
The homosexuals on this site screeching every time a game has inaccurate medieval armor or a gun that ejects brass to the wrong side.
I hope they speak spanish before the spanish arrive
because imagine losing your entire civilization to salmonella
Because the video game industry, and this site, isn't Mexican.
That shit aint mayan
Not even mexicans care about it
Maybe in Yucatán, but Mexico is so big and the important cities are barely 6 or 7
>Not even mexicans care about it
Mexican here, states are so different culture wise that someone from Monterrey doesnt give a frick about Mayans (Yucatan) so yeah, also the capital of mexico (mexico city) is represented by Aztecs not mayans
tldr: mexico too big and a lot of cultures so not all mexicansfeel represented when they put mayans in a game/movie
romans were 00s
vikangs was 10s
let see what 20s have in store, I cant see any clear signs yet other than current day apocalypse content trending a little bit too much
wakandas and wakanda variants
idk how US feels but first wakanda stuff didnt fly as hard as it did with the first one here in EU
normally when cultural norms hit they hit like a truck so if wakandanism will dominate 20s I dont see the signs yet
anime is heavily mainstream now even with millenials so something from that front may take the lead
Romans were 00s, Pirates were 10s, Vikings are the 20s.
vikings is already slowing down, would've been dead if we didnt have a culture freeze with the plague
also all the big viking/norse IPs came out in the 10s
I think it kinda gets lumped into the generic Amazon thing too much. Not the Greek "Amazons", but the concept of jungle/forest warriors usually wearing fur and animal accessories. There are games like Diablo 2 where you just suddenly wander into the jungle with them for no apparent reason. It might be cool to see a game with them, but it would need to clear that "generic enemy" hurdle that video games have made for them.
i for one want a game that goes from the beginings of civilization on the new world up to the point where they were found by the europeans but no farther
im fricking tired of games set in the colonization era and you can play as the spanish, there was no competition by that point everyone was doomed
i wanna see wars between those old civilizations instead, would be cool
it will happen eventually
lots of kino in mesoamerican setting
Reminder this is an English website
Refrain from speaking anything but Spanish
That is all
Why aren't conquistadors represented in games?
Because depicting the white man showing dominance over the colored is problematic.
FGO has Kukulkan
It's gay af
My first thoughts are brought to Populous: The Beginning, even though it's not really that much Aztec-inspired. Was a very fun game though, a modern day remake could have been amazing. Summoning volcanoes, drowning armies by sinking their land into the ocean or putting deadly swamps in choke points was cool as hell and modern games should at least try and draw some inspiration from what was possible to do in it.
Too many israelites worship the SpaiBlack folk. It's what helped them conquer the world.
