It doesn't go against her goal of becoming a Dragon Master. Look at Cynthia and Diantha. One's a Champion and historian, the other a Champion and Model.

As for her character, guess it's because she often looked down on Alder whenever he showed up, but that's more on Alder.

Did Iris give a shit about Alder in the games? Not sure if they ever interacted

Alder was more benchmark she needed to surpass in the games, but she clearly respected the man and outright worried about him taking on N.
The anime gave all her respect for Alder to Cynthia instead.
Iris one line of dialogue about anything related to Cynthia in the games is actually about how cute her Garchomp is.

The anime actually did something right with that. Cynthia Garchomp (Mega Chomp) is owned by one the strongest trainers in the world. Iris in the anime is aiming to become a Dragon Master and Alder offers nothing towards that.

            >The anime actually did something right with that.
They scuffed up a lot of things with Iris, but yeah, her having a fun relation to Cynthia was actually nice.
            >Cynthia Garchomp (Mega Chomp) is owned by one the strongest trainers in the world. Iris in the anime is aiming to become a Dragon Master and Alder offers nothing towards that.
Probably a good thing you mentioned that it is only Anime Iris that is aiming to become a Dragon Master.
Game Iris was a Dragon master from her very first appearance. Despite her youth, she can tutor you Draco Meteor,
It's kinda funny how Cynthia has never had Draco Meteor in a single game, and Iris is the one champion who can actually teach it. You'd think it would be Iris signature move in the anime, not Cynthia's.
Of course, Game Iris didn't really have to chase the strongest trainers in the world since she's already among them, unlike her Anime counterpart.

I phrased that weirdly, here's a somewhat clearer version:
-Game Iris doesn't have to chase the top trainers in the world because she already is one from the moment she first shows up.
-Anime Iris did need to, because she started out much weaker.

More than likely because they didn’t have much on an idea what to do with the character. Was wondering recently if there were any true seeds in BW that she was going to become Champion. I guess Ash becoming one, allowed her to be one?

Iris would've never been Champion of Unova if her game counterpart wasn't the Champion. She was only made Champion in the anime to match her game counterpart, regardless of how unearned it was. It's not complicated, people.

      >She was only made Champion in the anime to match her game counterpart, regardless of how unearned it was

If it’s not complicated don’t seethe and complain about it be unearned. Based on your conclusion it’s only logical it happened because of the games so no point being upset with the logical

Based. Irispedos hate the truth. Their kid was only made champion due to a forced obligation to match up with what the games did.

Then why make daily threads trying to justify it? You do care that your child never deserved to be Champion and only gained that title through sheer luck. Seethe, cope, dilate, and kys, in that order.

            >Then why make daily threads trying to justify it?

What the fuck are you talking about? It was just a joke but also again nobody cares, this isn’t new information. Most Irisfags will admit she’s Champion because of the games. Just don’t give a shit.

            >You do care that your child never deserved to be Champion and only gained that title through sheer luck.

It’s night time. You should have your Seroquel already dissolving in your mouth.
