Im at the very end but don't know what ending I should pick, what is the correct choice.
Im thinking of going with Tong because it offers humanity the most freedom and free from Tyranny.
It seems to be the morally correct option

you are supposed to merge with the AI because you are jesus christ
Helios ending is for midwit fatalists, Tong is the only choice for intellectuals
>intellectual
>picking the worst ending which will just result in the same shit in 10 years
the only solution is for a benevolent godhead to guide humanity
have a nice day commie.
Jesus Christ, Denton!
The names JC Denton, Jesus Christ Denton.
Good taste
Just pick whichever seems the best to you, that’s the point of being able to choose.
AI > Tong > Iluminati
>game about thinking for yourself
>"what choice is the correct one"
oh my god JC a moron
In fairness, the game is the creation of the CIA and global financiers who record the first ending the player picked in their little black book. It's a big decision to make and I don't blame people for hesitating.
is that why there are so many damn audio clips that obviously came from out of house contracts?
the dance ending
Tong is the correct choice and the canon choice
>the canon
Doesn't exist, the game ends and that's it
We get to see what happens 20 years after. Its the canon ending
>Invisible War
Fake and gay
Invisible War combines all the endings.
i dont understand your post because you posted no image
Is the canon ending in the room with us right now?
Deus Ex was so ahead of its time that Invisible War's cover looks AI generated
>slightly weird, smooth anatomy
>vaguely incorrect looking hair in a generic style
>nonsense swirly background
>that warped looking lettering in the title
The game's AI pop star predictions were hilariously off base
say that in 5 years.
I don't think you remember Invisible War. In that game, NG Resonance is not actually an AI at all, she's literally just Britney Spears putting on a larp, and it's implied that such AI was never available. Meanwhile, in the real world we have Hatsune Miku playing arenas just 7 years after the game was released, and full on AI voices and composition in the last few. Invisible War is full of dumb futurism like city-over-city and the borg, yet is very unambitious when it comes to the rest.
>nooooooo there HAS to be a permanent solution to my problem
>NOOOOOOOOOO SHUT UP JEFFERSON, SHUT UP LENIN, I WILL NOT ACCEPT A PERMANENT REVOLUTION, NO NO NO NO NOOOO
No I don't really remember it but I have the original box and played it on release. Also her concept is already achievable with a chatbot feeding it's output to a voice actor AI. In a few years the AI video will change media forever. God knows what will happen in 20 years. I think we will have true VR by then.
Japan doesn't count
AI generated things just look and sound like generic trash that morons have been coming up with since forever
>Tong
>letting billions of people die to starvation, disease and anarchy
>just to get a pat on the back from a deranged chinaman and for the entire situation to repeat itself another 50-80 years later
Lol. Lmao even. Helios ending is objectively the best possible outcome for humanity.
billions of people die to starvation, disease and anarchy
[citation needed]
>global communications collapse
>international trade stops
>huge population dependent on that communication and trade now has no way to support itself
>hunger, chaos and wars ensue
This isn't exactly a hard line of logic to follow, anon
The Illuminati ending (kill Page) has the most involved gameplay to it and it encourages being tactical in how you handle each floor of the final area of the game. The Tong ending is simpler, and the Helios ending is so straightforward that you don't see or interact with 90% of the level.
Helios was the last one I figured out because I avoided that electricity room
>you don't see or interact with 90% of the level.
It's not a very good level. Skipping the infinitely spawning robots is another advantage of those endings.
>Im at the very end but don't know what ending I should pick, what is the correct choice.
there is none. the game takes a massive nosedive after the paris levels and if you've made it past that, you've played everything worth playing. the endings are all rushed and short and inconsequential.
I didn't really notice the quality drop, the only main difference was there wasn't any civilian levels which were the best ones
have you finished the game yet? the first 2/3 of the game feature tons of different characters and deep lore. the last 1/3 it turns into a shooter mostly, which is fine because the game IS an action game after all, and in the final levels is when you can flex your skills the most, but it's obvious the story took a backseat and fails to conclude in a satisfying way, and the game was clearly rushed a bit. the level design is much better in the beginning as well.
Sure, I just mean it wasn't enough to make me go "wow this game really fell off".
You should pick Laputan machine
What does the title Deus Ex mean? Without the Machina part it would just be god from, or from god? Is Denton supposed to be God or just the AI
I interpret it as a question in abbreviated form
The title is a subtle joke. The game is called "Deus Ex", which is an incomplete grammatical construction of the Latin phrase "Deus ex machina", which means "God from machine". The phrase was used historically in Greek plays when the plot seemingly has no resolution until a god appears to resolve it, but it adopts a double meaning in the context of a story involving an aspirational AI-God creation. The title lacks the "Machina" part because they knew the people playing it don't get laid, hence "Deu Sex", which is how most people unfamiliar with Latin pronounce the title.
God from humanity's desire to be judged :^)
Honestly, idk if I agree with Morpheus there. If an alien race showed up and started judging humanity, people would tell them to frick off.
Judgment alone is worthless. It's important who it comes from. And I think religion's onto something when it calls the important gods and saints Father or Mother. The kind of judgment humanity is looking for, imo, is something resembling a parent. They seemingly know everything, they know right from wrong, they tell you if you're doing a good job, they reward you.
I think that's more in line with what humanity gets out of religion, and I think it goes quite a bit further than humans wanting to be judged or dreaming of a good government. It's completely blanking on the emotional component.
thoughtful post
if you're not moronic then you'd know that "of god" would be a more accurate if less literal translation. It still has a double meaning; heavy implications with the wording and of course the historical connotations of the full phrase.
ex doesnt mean of dumb zoomer
The endings are kind of lame and you're just supposed to fill in the blanks with your interpretation of them. The game is all about the journey and not the destination.
Illuminati
>but morgan everett is a treacherous snake
JC kills him after the credits and takes over in my headcanon

Imagine playing a game famous for its well-balanced political/philosophical themes and celebration of player agency, only to choose the ending which provides the last choice
Imagine playing a game famous for its well-balanced political/philosophical themes and celebration of player agency, then experiencing lackluster ending which require imagination to fully enjoy.
How would you fix the game endings? Longer more detailed cinematics? Different choices?
Consider
>Deus Ex tracks have titles
huh.
Frick the ending, that sort of "dilemma" is for smalltimers. What did you decide for DeBeer's fate?
DeBeers wasn't a dilemma, you can just kill him for no reason.
And I do every time
Leaving him alive is probably the more horrible choice given that he asks you for death once he realizes the position he's in
Killed DeBeers, Toby Atanwe, the maid, and every fish in Everett's tank. Have to take all available measures to ensure the Illuminati to not come back after the great nukening.
>lackluster
The endings were so good I immediately used my imagination and took to some pens and printer paper to write out ideas for Deus Ex 2 as a kid
Helios definitely feels the most intended.
I feel like Tong is the one the developers would've chosen even if they won't publicly admit it. The game has a left-libertarian/anarchist bent to it.
Due to sequencing a bit yeah (they Daedalus and Icarus merge just a few levels before the end) but remember first that Helios is literally Page's creation; you're fulfilling 99% of his stated goals from the intro by picking Helios, albeit minus Page himself. In the original Deus Ex script which was substantially slimmed down for time/resource constraints, Helios was an AI called Adam and not only happily murdered Bob Page to gain power/independence but then proceeded to hold the world hostage under threat of global satellite nuclear bombardment if the player refuses to merge.
Tong is the intended ending
yeah i think tong is the best but helios feels the most supported by the story, there's a lot of religious symbolism surrounding JC (literally jesus christ) and his last words in the helios ending are "This is what I was made for. This is why I exist."
>there's a lot of religious symbolism surrounding JC
Where? I didnt see any of it. JC doesn't stand for Jesus Christ
>JC doesn't stand for Jesus Christ
It kinda does.
Early on there was actually the idea to make JC a descendant of Jesus, and that'd tie in with the Illuminati's plans, but they realized it was silly and dropped it.
>Jesus
>descendants
Yes, why not.
>I didnt see any of it.
That's cause you're probably moronic.
Just like the people that don't see the blatant religious symbolism in The Matrix and 90% of sci-fi. They're not even trying to be esoteric.
>bro it has a level in a CATHEDRAL, that PROVES JC is supposed to be Jesus
I don't believe that he's supposed to be Jesus but the initials aren't a coincidence. Initials JC for the protagonist along with the title of the game being Deus Ex. It's not a coincidence.
also his brother is named paul
Yeah it has some religious a e s t h e t i c just like Evangelion, but it's just there to make the game seem cool/deep
>but it's just there to make the game seem cool/deep
It's more than just aesthetics and actually plays into the themes of the game. You literally have a moralgayging brother the entire game. I actually found it annoying. It 100% felt like they wanted you to play the game as a stealthy pacifist.
>moralgayging brother
He tells you to be nice because he's literally NSF at that point. He has no qualms gunning down UNATCO troopers and MIBs raiding his apartment.
communications collapse
Tong already has a darkweb in place
trade stops
A guy shipping freight doesn't need to know the buyers and sellers himself
>>huge population dependent on that communication and trade now has no way to support itself
There is nothing in Deus Ex to indicate that farms, oil sites, etc are totally on-grid and immediately fail upon Area 51 blowing up
, chaos and wars ensue
Maybe in Africa/Haiti
>Tong already has a darkweb in place
That's nowhere near enough to support the needs of the entire planet.
>A guy shipping freight doesn't need to know the buyers and sellers himself
He does need to know where he is going. That "global communications" thing includes GPS and associated navigation systems. That goes double for any kind of air transport.
>There is nothing in Deus Ex to indicate that farms, oil sites, etc are totally on-grid and immediately fail upon Area 51 blowing up
All of those things are already on-grid now, you doofus. They might not be run by network-connected robots, but they sure as frick depend on timely shipping of supplies and external energy.
>Maybe in Africa/Haiti
Most of the US is one bad blackout away from total anarchy (see what happened during the NY blackouts if you don't believe me).
>That's nowhere near enough to support the needs of the entire planet.
There are black market smugglers and anti-government activists all over the planet. Some may become local warlords but the reality is that markets solve most problems of shortage.
>He does need to know where he is going. That "global communications" thing includes GPS and associated navigation systems. That goes double for any kind of air transport.
Every ship is going to have multiple contingencies, including power-out.
>All of those things are already on-grid now, you doofus. They might not be run by network-connected robots, but they sure as frick depend on timely shipping of supplies and external energy.
Internet going down =/= power going down.
>Most of the US is one bad blackout away from total anarchy (see what happened during the NY blackouts if you don't believe me).
Not all cities have angry black minorities
>There are black market smugglers and anti-government activists all over the planet.
My dude, do you understand the sheer volume of logistics necessary to keep a modern populous country running? Those "activists" will barely be able to support themselves (likely by robbing those around them) much less any civilian population in a global comms blackout event.
>Every ship is going to have multiple contingencies, including power-out.
Modern ships and, moreso airplanes, depend on GPS for effective navigation. If it goes down, the best case scenario will be that some of those already enroute will make it back to port, but no one will be moronic enough to risk going back afterwards (not to mention that the massive challenges of securing fuel and spare parts for repairs).
>Internet going down =/= power going down.
Again, "global communications outage" does not just mean you lose access to Ganker for a few weeks. That will also include the signaling networks used to run power plants and substations. All of that infrastructure is connected now.
>Not all cities have angry black minorities
If you think only Black folk are capable of violence when they're survival is threatened, you've clearly never learned any history.
You can just google and find plenty of cases where modern pilots used to autopilot used manual landing protocols and got by just fine
>Again, "global communications outage" does not just mean you lose access to Ganker for a few weeks. That will also include the signaling networks used to run power plants and substations. All of that infrastructure is connected now.
With central power in disarray, wiser people will hack those systems and get them under control again
>If you think only Black folk are capable of violence when they're survival is threatened, you've clearly never learned any history.
The NYC 1977 blackout riots were a largely black phenomenon, as you can find just looking at which parts of NYC had it the worst. What you describe could of course become global in a mass starvation scenario, but I deny that premise.
> You can just google and find plenty of cases where modern pilots used to autopilot used manual landing protocols and got by just fine
Individual landings - sure, not navigation at scale.
>wiser people will hack those systems
>I deny that premise
At this point your entire argument is “this catastrophic situation that I’m advocating will somehow work out for the best, because it just will, ok”. This is just laughable. At least the regular Tong apologists in these threads have the balls to admit to the costs of their decision instead of closing their eyes and pretending nothing bad will happen.
It's how the Cabal does things.
Mass Effect has C. SHEPARD. It's how the followers of the squatter """mock""" God.
Alternatively, there's a lot of themes from the start to the end about power structures, control, rebellion, and working your way to the core of the conspiracy to end it, which would fit Tong.
>canon ending
Doesn't exist
Those people are morons, and even still they usually complain about the last ~quarter of the game, you quit at the first quarter and missed what is probably the most acclaimed section of all.
just save and do all 3
>start thinking Helios Ending might be the best since AI Jesus Christ save the world sound awesome
>Read Spengler and SIEGE
>Now think that Civilization collapse sound much cooler
I wish there's fourth ending where you can become AI God while cause Civilization collapse like what happened after Invisible War tbh
I dont get the civilization collapse ending, it just delays the inevitable and will repeat it self down the line.
Freedom isn't free, boy
>Illuminati are ousted and in shambles
>Page is dead as are his forces and machinations
>Helios gets deleted
>Humanity is free
free until some warlords take over a week later and living qualities are even worse
And we're supposed to believe Helios will be perfect forever? That the small things it does before our choice is sincere? That merging with JC won't screw it up? That JC is even capable of guiding it humanely and isn't a psycho?
JC ruling is preferable than any of the others
>the man who kills 5 year old Chinese kids for being annoying and dumps their bodies into a canal is the preferable ruler
I did a pacifist playthrough, my JC isn't the same as yours
>I will tell them you're a SPY and they will KILL YOU
Silencing him and disposing of the evidence is a perfectly reasonable response to this threat.
https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=deus+ex+louis+pan
It's great because it's actually the man who doesn't believe what he's told by the first bigshot official and judges things on his own, without pulling the trigger on what might at first glance appear to be a band of ruthless terrorists. He values human life, feels bad when he finds innocent victims and protects the unfortunate from gangsters extorting them.
My JC would be a good and fair god, yours would be a chaotic and evil one. Hm, the game could have tracked your overall kills and even petty crimes to determine how good or bad a merge would be for everyone, but I think the player himself is the best judge of that anyway. It just should have been brought up directly.
You at least know where things stand with the Illuminati and Tong. Helios and JC might create a golden age for all of humanity or turn it all into a nightmare dystopia.
Wasnt the illuminati ending supposed to be the status quo one. They would use the virus to control the world just like Page
At least JC would still have his own brain and the potential of taking over the Illuminati.
They make a point of mentioning how they're going to rewind the clock a half century back. Late 90s/early 00s level of finance, government and control. Of course there is no guarantee at all with this ending either.
>Late 90s/early 00s level of finance, government and control.
How was the modern world not that
>implying that's a bad thing
>implying Civilization rise and fall for eternity is bad thing
The Best thing about this reality created by Demiurge is the fact that there's always constant up and down, good and bad, rise and fall of civilization is also the same. I mean if everything is always Good all the time would get quite boring no?
go live in the woods or move to a developing nation then
>demiurge
Imagine getting filtered by entry level spooks.
>why don't you just have a nice day, it just delays the inevitable and will repeat it self down the line
false equivalence but ok, youd rather just let humanity go through the same mistakes as they did in the past just because?
It's funny how many view Tong is this insane Kaczynski-esque technophobic idealist when he's if anything a technophilic 4D chess master just because of his use of the word "villages". He chooses to open source the nanite sword tech and share it with both triads rather than try and destroy it, he has connections to all forms of underground markets with an entire darknet separate from the centralized internet, and he lives in the most densely populated area on the planet, a massive important port city. Whether or not JC survives the nuking of Area 51, Tong has now set in motion everything required for him to immediately revive a new classical internet, he has sole possession of a universal constructor, he has all the trade partners and labor to immediately roll out ambrosia to the world, and he stands to become an instant trillionaire from it. Will things be interrupted in the short term? Naturally, but what Tong is doing is essentially forcing the world's largest market crash to then take the world's largest long position.
But I can understand those who see him as a pure idealist, since he is very philosophical. What I absolutely hate is how they retconned him for Invisible War.
interesting post
>Im thinking of going with Tong because it offers humanity the most freedom and free from Tyranny.
LE WE'LL LIVE IN VILLAGES JC!!!
Yeah Tong, and we have thousands of years of history on how tribalism plays out.
The illuminati aren't even bad, their ending is probably the best. The 50s, 60s, were great times and the illuminati where in charge for that
?si=8LArxjT4d5K1R71a
Bros... now that Embracer has demerged into 3 entities, will we ever see another DX game again?
eidos montreal is completely cucked and has been way before Embracer even entered the picture, so no
it's over
Now that neural and limb augmentations are reality, how long until augmenting becomes as popular as tattoos? It's only for the disabled now, you know Elon wants to go commercial with his Neuralink.
The military has high grade prosthetics as well. How much longer until the real Human Evolution?
Is Human Revolution worth playing? I just assumed it was slop compared to the original so I never picked it up
They are all worth playing. They keep the same gameplay loop.
Expect slop and play it anyway. I knew it couldn't be any worse than Invisible War.
Id say the futuristic shit is interesting but thats about all, the piss filter ruins that though. dont play it unless you are desperate for more Deus Ex
it's a solid 7/10 and there's nothing wrong with that. it's "fine"
Isnt there a mod that gets rid of the piss filter
The first 2/3rds of the game are surprisingly good. It rapidly falls downhill and has one of the worst "endings" of any game I've ever played.
It's nowhere as good as the original. The vent-obsessed level design is lackluster, the maps are less open, there's less interactivity, the story is very simple and one-note, etc. But it's still a very good game that is perfectly enjoyable if you mentally segregate it from the original.
>, the story is very simple and one-note,
For the love of God don't pretend Deus Ex is deep. There's no depth added by having the Illuminati AND Majestic 12 in the same story when MJ12 has completely won the conflict and the Illuminati is reduced to seething on the sidelines as Bob Page attemps to become the Robot God Ruler Of Earth.
Especially not when I know your criticism of HR is going be "it says uhm augmentation is like racism and racism bad???"
>if your story features a defeated faction, it's shallow
What argument are you even trying to make? That the Illuminati should have been purely a background lore thing mentioned vaguely as the origins of the MJ12?
HR's plot is augmentations, augmentations, augmentations. Everyone talks about augmentations all the time. It's the only thing anyone thinks about. Deus Ex has more going on.
>guaran-T
https://twitter.com/awfulannouncing/status/1783642695300436143
what ending did he go with
Modded in Bob Page ending.
ending where you deny the grey death exists and says the vaccine is the real harmful thing
DX1 is 100% of a 10/10 game
DXIW is 100% of a 6/10 game
DXHR is 90% of an 8/10 game
DXMD is 60% of a 9/10 game
It is a decent game. The original is a classic. DXMD was forgettable.
It's simpler than the original, but it's worth playing.
It's alright, a bit too linear for my tastes since a lot of the stages boil down to a single route.
My big nitpick with HR is that there's no way to recharge your bio electricity so you spend 90% of the game on a single bar since there's no reason to down your candy bars until you need to cloak past a long section or some shit.
The twist that your brother was working for the NFT was kino af. I dropped the game after that because I knew it wouldn't get any better
>Narrator: It did, indeed, get even better
I hear people complaining about the later game all the time though. Didnt want to ruin it with that
>working for the NFT
/biz/-brain is terminal
why didn't the NFT get an ending? What even became of them in the end it never really said
canon ending is merging with the AI, but invisible war is pure dogshit so who cares
pick what you think is right
Thats not the canon ending.
iw can't happen without jc merging with the ai in some capacity so it's canon
iw never happened, take your meds
The official statement for IW is that all three endings happened simultaneously. But obviously, IW and the apocryphal Deus Ex Bible should be discarded.
Bob Page died in the canon ending so the illuminati ending is the right one
Why do midwits say this when they should know the Satan is deathly afraid of Hell to the point of preparing a war against """aliens"""?
Whoever picks the illuminati one is the biggest moron there is. No redeeming qualities. Even the cut Bob Page ending would be better.
Why? Illuminati is the most "back to normal" ending.
It's the path for people who believe in the irl status quo, like NCR fanboys. Purely deranged people.
>the cut Bob Page ending
What's that like? Side with the big bad? That would have been stupid.
It would have been the illuminati ending more or less
No JC would have been made supreme leader of Europe
>Helios: lose your bodily autonomy and give the world over to Bob Page's despotic invention
>Tong: destroy the major network systems of the world and potentially induce apocalypse, probably dying in the process
>Everett: join a man who was previously begging your for help and take co-ownership of THE worldwide conspiracy
From a practical standpoint of actually being JC Denton and not just the player-observer, the Illuminati is the most obvious pick if anything.
Helios ending is literally the Page ending, just minus Page.
Friendly reminder that entertainment like video games is meant to train you to fight against the Harloty system the dark powers have set up for you to topple.
https://twitter.com/CreasingTheFold/status/1783436957063807125
Doesn't matter much since the more considered canon ending is the Helios ending were you merge with the AI, even though the sequel takes aspects from all three anyways.
And also yes, shamefully the sequel gameplay wise is fricking shit, all because the kino PC game, didnt want to be focused to PC, consoles fricking ruined it.
How is that the canon ending? We literally have a game that confirms Tong's ending is canon
You know what must be done
There are no good endings. It was the first grimdark game.
Literally all the endings are good
Who you picked was a litmus test. Tong was the correct choice, everything else meant bowing down to a tyrant which goes against the entire point of the game
what happens if you dont kill Paul? Ive never done a run like that
He basically lives and you see him later in the game. But he doesn't really do much else in the story.
You gotta appreciate that at least each ending has a justification, even if they also have a downside. The first time I've played a game with multiple endings where there doesn't seem to be an objectively correct choice.
>Illuminati ending restores the status quo, but with the "good guys" back in charge, but if they were competent, then Majestic 12 wouldn't have been a threat in the first place. All that stands between Everett and another Majestic 12 popping up is JC hopefully keeping things in control.
>Dark Ages ending will set us back decades. Global bankers will be set back and no one government will have too much power, but like the Illuminati this is only a temporary solution, as the world will fall into the hands of the first one who re-establishes intercontinental communication
>Helios is a supposedly perfect AI that feels no malice towards humanity and seems to genuinely want the best for humanity, based on logic and not any emotions or desire for power. However, it needs a human component to help it understand mankind, so we're not just reduced to being meat batteries in the matrix. The biblical allegory with Jesus is strongest here, as God sent him down to understand people's plights so he would be a better king
I chose Helios because I don't trust Everett or Tong.
Its funny seeing zoomers saying this game was ahead of its time because they knew nothing about that era. This came out in the heyday of things like CCRU
>predicting the Meme War wasn't ahead of its time
>Tong
lotta people gonna die but the power structure will be overthrown so that's nice I guess
>Illuminati
you join the primary bulwark between world governments and stupid decisions. Wars, poverty, and human rights violations don't happen because of them, they happen where they failed. Deus Ex is the only game I can think of where the illuminati are the good guys
>merge with helios
we are given exactly zero reason to do this other than it's what Bob Page wants to do
Do non-lethal takedowns do anything once you leave UNATCO?
I always burn out on the game around the freighter/castle levels because it just gets exhausting working through the map with the baton when I've already got five different death sticks
MJ12 spooks get the rope, for everyone else I just use the baton and crossbow
Some guards are just doing their job
no, there aren't any different outcomes for lethal vs non-lethal after castle clinton
I did almost entirely nonlethal because I was doing illuminati ending and all the MJ-12 personnel I spared work for me now. No reason to kill your future underlings.
10mm is a free pocket sniper for melee or explosive characters so it's worth investing in for that reason.
>No reason to kill your future underlings.
kek so says every outsider leader before undergoing a military coup
RIP
Illuminati > AI > Tong
Illuminati is the best choice for the people overall
Did they say something about assassination?
https://twitter.com/Rightanglenews/status/1783572560359145825
Starting to think pistols actually suck. The only two viable guns in the category use the same fricking scarce as shit ammo. There are no mid- or lategame guards dropping pistol ammo and you cannot horde enough to kill every enemy. Meanwhile rifle ammo is divided between shotgun, AR and sniper ammo that all drop throughout the game so you never run out of shit your skill points work with.
10mm is much more common than 3006. I always upgrade both Pistol and Rifle, with my starting one becoming a hand cannon capable of headshotting most humanoids, and my sniper reserved for commandos/turrets/doors. Stealth pistol is garbage tho.
Gep/pistol and dumping left over weapon mods on an assault rifle was my favorite run. Also rushing advanced computers.
I've never been a big fan of the stealth pistol. It just feels redundant with the normal pistol. Especially if you have the baton or prod for actual stealth.
you save before the choices and do all three endings
in de2 all three endings are canon
Any mod recommendations for a new playthrough?
The Nameless Mod
paul denton game when
Paul was the best character in this. I still am pissed that I cleared out the ton but he still died
Paul always dies if you leave out the window, even if you killed all the spooks inside of the hotel
>breaking the window and jumping to the other apartment after assassinating Mrs Chow
name a more kino part of the game

KINO KINO KINO
>talk to Dowd in the burned out warehouse
>a dozen MJ12/UNATCO troops right there waiting for you to finish
>instantly press all function keys at once in a hurry
>slash them down in ten seconds with your Dragon's Tooth
>bioenergy depleted just in time
I never used a single gun other than the rocket launcher after getting the dragons tooth, that shit is OP
The game really rewards multiple playthroughs.
>set LAMs by the park
>scramble the police bot
>go talk to Dowd
>enemies spawn, then get blown up or gunned down
>smug grin
Yeah grenades are ultimate for replays/exploits. I often gas up the NSF radio HQ once UNATCO turns hostile as well, just 2 ez
I just knock out all the soldiers, then loot the basement, then send the signal.
Wait, do you have to scramble the police bot to get them to shoot MJ12 troops? They don't infight automatically?
Tong is the worst choice.
t. commie
Tracer Tong ending is the canon ending.
All the endings are canon simultaneously. But feel free to pretend Invisible War never happened.
>But feel free to pretend Invisible War never happened.
Yeah on this one issue I'll go with the consensus and do exactly that
I still pick tong because anyone dumb enough to have every network totally dependent on a single AS (Area 51) deserves to be btfo if it gets nuked (again).
Adulthood is realising that the illuminati ending is the only one that even has a chance of a positive future.
you need higher than double digit IQ to understand why, however.
JC is already having his doubts right during the illuminati cutscene
Im stuck fighting Guntier at battery park. This guy is a tank, ive been here like 2 hours and he wont go down
why is Deus Ex better than Human Revolution?
Pre-9/11, pre-2008 recession, made and funded by serious developers/game-artisans. If you mean what makes it better:
-far better writing, simultaneously more political and grounded in reality yet less preachy
-less prefab levels, no copy-paste modular apartment rooms, less reliance on vents as the primary source of alt routes
-infinitely better characters, there are random homeless bums more memorable than most of the biggest HR NPC's
-three distinct and interesting endings that inspire debate and fantasy, vs seven stupid buttons that give nonsense lectures
-melee combat
>random homeless bums more memorable
Stay out of the 'ton bro, bad shit going down
>less reliance on vents
I can forgive all those faults except for this. I hate vents so goddamn much.
like Paul said, it's whatever (you) feel is right, by deliberating on it you're already playing game correctly
They are all Kino, there is no correct choice and doesn't matter which you pick, they re ALL canon at the same time somehow.
But the one i liked the most its merging with Helios and making JC become a God Machine.
I wish indie devs would make these kind of games more, I enjoyed Cruelty Squad despite it being gimmicky.
>dark age means...people will heckin die!!
If it slows down the non-stop MSM mind control brainrot for even 5 minutes then it was all worth it
