In that game, NG Resonance is not actually an AI at all, she's literally just Britney Spears putting on a larp, and it's implied that such AI was never available. The Illuminati ending (kill Page) has the most involved gameplay to it and it encourages being tactical in how you handle each floor of the final area of the game. The Tong ending is simpler, and the Helios ending is so straightforward that you don't see or interact with 90% of the level.

there is none. the game takes a massive nosedive after the paris levels and if you've made it past that, you've played everything worth playing. the endings are all rushed and short and inconsequential.
I didn't really notice the quality drop, the only main difference was there wasn't any civilian levels which were the best ones
have you finished the game yet? the first 2/3 of the game feature tons of different characters and deep lore. the last 1/3 it turns into a shooter mostly, which is fine because the game IS an action game after all, and in the final levels is when you can flex your skills the most, but it's obvious the story took a backseat and fails to conclude in a satisfying way, and the game was clearly rushed a bit. the level design is much better in the beginning as well.

In the original Deus Ex script which was substantially slimmed down for time/resource constraints, Helios was an AI called Adam and not only happily murdered Bob Page to gain power/independence but then proceeded to hold the world hostage under threat of global satellite nuclear bombardment if the player refuses to merge.

The first 2/3rds of the game are surprisingly good. It rapidly falls downhill and has one of the worst "endings" of any game I've ever played.
It's nowhere as good as the original. The vent-obsessed level design is lackluster, the maps are less open, there's less interactivity, the story is very simple and one-note, etc. But it's still a very good game that is perfectly enjoyable if you mentally segregate it from the original.

Starting to think pistols actually suck. The only two viable guns in the category use the same fricking scarce as shit ammo. There are no mid- or lategame guards dropping pistol ammo and you cannot horde enough to kill every enemy. Meanwhile rifle ammo is divided between shotgun, AR and sniper ammo that all drop throughout the game so you never run out of shit your skill points work with.
10mm is much more common than 3006. I always upgrade both Pistol and Rifle, with my starting one becoming a hand cannon capable of headshotting most humanoids, and my sniper reserved for commandos/turrets/doors. Stealth pistol is garbage tho.
Gep/pistol and dumping left over weapon mods on an assault rifle was my favorite run. Also rushing advanced computers.
I've never been a big fan of the stealth pistol. It just feels redundant with the normal pistol. Especially if you have the baton or prod for actual stealth.

Pre-9/11, pre-2008 recession, made and funded by serious developers/game-artisans. If you mean what makes it better:
-far better writing, simultaneously more political and grounded in reality yet less preachy
-less prefab levels, no copy-paste modular apartment rooms, less reliance on vents as the primary source of alt routes
-infinitely better characters, there are random homeless bums more memorable than most of the biggest HR NPC's
-three distinct and interesting endings that inspire debate and fantasy, vs seven stupid buttons that give nonsense lectures
-melee combat

They are all Kino, there is no correct choice and doesn't matter which you pick, they re ALL canon at the same time somehow.
But the one i liked the most its merging with Helios and making JC become a God Machine.
I wish indie devs would make these kind of games more, I enjoyed Cruelty Squad despite it being gimmicky.
