>zoomers don't even know how folders work
Do people really believe this shit? Do you think zoomers don't go to college and use a computer or something? I have 6 zoomers in my team and they're more computer literate than boomers/older millennials
>Do people really believe this shit?
It's a real thing ya know.
Also, people forget that the current teenagers are no longer "zoomies", but Gen-A toddlers.
maybe it depends where you live but i've heard that laptop has been mandatory in high schools for like close to 10 years, so one would assume that you learn folders and files

Chromebooks, son.
And most of them are either ran in a "terminal" mode, where the teach has direct access to every device in the classroom, or they just use generic Google apps / fricking Minecraft (Education Edit) for everything, never really saving / editing stuff as we understand it, not caring about it since there's only one tiny internal storage, or in worst case the system's flushed after each class so there's no private data stored at all.
well i don't know. i'm too old. but i see stores marketing high school test approved computers and those are just normal laptops with windows. i think they get like usb stick that launches some different os or whatever for test purpose so can't cheat

I know what you mean (Abi shit), but that's already a step above the typical elem. school stuff. Besides, most zoomies use their phones for everything nowadays. And I mean everything.
I built my brother a pc and transferred games over ftp because using a usb was too slow. I told him this and he had no idea what I was even saying. I’m not even an advanced pc user, Im just a millennial.
I don't particularly enjoy emulation. It's like if no other choice then it will have to do. Also I guess I already pretty much played all the old games that I'm interested.
Sort of on the topic, I found hulk hogan frmv game for cd-i at flea market for 50 cents or so. Looked like it's probably fun for half an hour. Didn't realize it needed some addon that I didn't have. Was like okay frick it, I'll just emulate it. Apparently there's no emulator that supports games requiring that addon. So that was wasted money.
Since we're talking Emulators in here. Has PCSX2 recently become dogshit again after recent updates? Its either that or going from a 5950X to a 5800X3D has started frame spikes
I went on an emulator kick a while back because there was a huge draught in video games I was interested. I went in on the fancy scene-created Frontend systems because I'm lazy. Played through a bunch of games I never got the chance to like BotW, bunch of other shit, etc.
It is nice being able to just boot up some Castlevania or Skies of Arcadia or something and it just works simply and it looks nice. I will say, the fact that every Wii, Wii U and Switch game all have their own weird necessary hacks and tidbits to setup each time is kind of annoying though.
>unauthorized emulation is theft
There's no such thing as "unauthorized emulation", little Black person.
Emulation is 100% legal.
It's the distribution of rips that falls into the gray zone, but no one has ever been sentenced for that.
On that note, triple A yakuzas seem to love to do nothing but sit on their old IPs, making it impossible even for willing customers to play them ""legally"" in 2014 + 10.
I dislike Windows but the reason it uses ram when idling is because of Superfetch, it basically pre-loads frequently used software, also unused ram is wasted ram
I generally only emulate games that were released for consoles I don’t own, but I own a lot of video game consoles. I’ve got burnt discs, hard drives and flash carts set up for all of my consoles, and I use an upscale with them to play them in living room. I do quite enjoy those video games.
...
I don't get it.
Imagine using PJ64 and not using Parallel.
P64 just werks.
>just werks
https://github.com/project64/project64/issues
Works on my PC, since 2003.
>no those confirmed issues aren't real
Youtube walkthroughs
I'm too stupid to do anything on my computer without an extremely meticulous step by step foolproof guide that anyone can use.
I should just stick with consoles but there's too much I want to do besides just gaming.
why would you emulate instead of play the PC port
SM64 PC port doesn't quite behave the same was as the N64 version does due to some minor differences between MIPS and x86.
Do you have any examples? I didn't notice the difference.
Emulation: I sleep.
Native ports of classic games made by fans: Pic related.
even the most accurate emulators with the best shaders can't accurately replicate the feel. real hardware will always be king.
my pc is just an MMO/strategy game machine.
zoomers don't even know how folders work and you expect them to use emulators?

Yes I really do.

zoomers rely on the recent files section and the search bar.
they know jack shit about folder structures.

I have zoomer cousins who know how to use Dolphin.
Hell, I just barely qualify as a zoomer myself(1997) and I've been emulating since I was 11.

imagine building a PC in current year and emulating Mario 64 instead of playing the decompiled PC port with infinitely better performance
homie really out here caring about "performance" on emulators that ran on 20 year old e machines.
The HLE ones did. Accurate emulators require beefier PCs.
thats nice but i don't care. i could never tell the difference between mario 64 on my console and on pc besides pc being higher res

Emulation is pretty much all I play these days, modern games are trash made for kids, morons and OCD gays.
Pic related, me on the left.
Imagine not playing that in Yuzu.
Is here a person with knowledge in IT stuff or wo works in such a job area?
>acquire platform
>play ancient games from other platforms
this is why no one takes you pcvegans seriously
Ahem.
those aren't stolen, you shameless ignorant pcvegan
Meanwhile, consolekeks CANNOT play games from other systems, period.
>playing obsolete system's vidya is now "stealing"
Can't make this shit up.
unauthorized emulation is theft, stupid vegan. stop stealing nintendo's hard work

I'm going to eat a steak and download another ROM right now, and there is nothing you can do to stop me israeliteaboo
test
did it work ?
It did. Thank you fren!
That's peak windows UI. Glass aero needs to come back
Minimalism in tech was a mistake
Miss those dock bars.
I miss when an operating system didn't take up more resources than an 8th gen video game
I debloated my windows 10 install a little and it's taking almost 3 GB of RAM when idling. It's crazy
I dislike Windows but the reason it uses ram when idling is because of Superfetch, it basically pre-loads frequently used software, also unused ram is wasted ram
