"REEE BLOOM" has been a thing since the game was announced but this is subtle as frick compared to earlier screenshots and daytime shots, old dorm lighting was more "these lights barely function" than gloomy or "le cozy". It only really looked intentional during the winter day scenes. People have psyop'd themselves into thinking the whole game is meant to look like the look shitty and grimmy or some shit when it just seems like a lack of experience since nobody says this shit about 4 and the few spots in that game carried over do have a higher contrast.
Anon P3 is a game about depression and people dying. It being sunny and cheerful kind of takes away from the atmosphere. Don't get me wrong, i already bought it, just feels off.

You know, I always found it interesting how people get offended at fictional media. People in private chat groups say homosexual, Black person, troony, and so on, but if you portray those groups in games or film, you must use soft language. Imagine a film like Friday or Boyz n the Hood where everyone says "ninja" instead of "homie" just because hearing the word is considered offensive, and should never be read nor heard. We need to erase the word "Black person" from history rather than understand how important context is. We're giving too much power to words, which in term leads to softer language that lacks the punch and raw energy that writing used to have. The more we censor ourselves (like youtube creators censoring themselves for ad revenue), the worse creative writing will become. And people wonder why modern storytelling in film and games is awful.
