I remember the first time I got to that area I ground out the 10k souls to buy the key and I got raped up the shitter for a solid two hours before I was able to get to her and pacify everyone else. I assumed it was early game content because why else would the key so clearly be on sale?

said, but I'm the sort of person who wants to at least attempt to explore every area accessible to me as soon as possible even if I get walled at a certain point. I was able to take out the first two guys but the toll of fighting the rest kept killing me. After a few more tries I was able to slowly proceed further and further until I killed them all, but if I had kept being destroyed I absolutely would have eaten the souls loss and moved on.

it was 10/10 farming spot, so good it was actually drastically nerfed. or maybe they "nerfed" the content to make it easier, i dont even know anymore but every single NPC used to respawn on release.
Also it is 20k souls to get the key, so that should have been your first clue its not early game area, the boss before the merchant gives like half that. also you can just kill the hydra and not buy the key, hehe.

Are you stupid? Thats where you get the Black Bow of Pharis, arguably the best bow in the game. As for what you said to the other anon, most of us have multiple monitors so you can put on Law and Order while grinding, or even a laptop if youre on console
Add flip ring, Shiva's armor, cool hat, hornet ring and Shiva's shop in your first visit to lower blightown to that
In order to get any of those you need to be later in the game.

It has a 9STR and 13 DEX requirement, depending on what class you choose that's more than usable at that point in the game.

Maybe the bro got the Balder Side Sword early, that's reason enough to bump Dex to meet the STR requirement and be close enough to the DEX requirement. Did you even play Dark Souls? Because you talk like you've read a wiki and watched an LP of it.
Even if he did Balder is 14. And no new player would use it because the base damage is low compared even to the basic weapons most classes come with and you are way to low level for scalling to make a real difference.
It had fast attacks and a cool moveset, most people would use it based off that alone. My first playthrough of BB I used the Threaded Cane the whole time because I loved the attacks even though its not nearly as cool as some other weapons, especially if you went into Chalice Dungeons

I spent a few hours grinding the souls and progressing through the game because I was interested in what the area had to offer, and yes, once I quickly realized it was doable at my low level I decided to persevere. The game was interesting enough for me to do that. If I wasnt having fun I probably would have dropped it or rushed through areas rather than take my time to explore.
