>renting
>he didn't use to rent games just so he could make a copy
can't make a copy of an N64 game
>you wouldn't download the based department
>paying the 2022 equivalent of $100 for an N64 game you can beat in a weekend
I seriously hope etc
I rented pokemon snap a ton of times before my mom and dad bought me a copy
When I stayed at my grandma's every other weekend, her local Blockbuster had the demo station with the stickers with your photos on them you could print out. I miss them days.
My Blockbuster did system rentals which was fricking awesome. I don't know why but I always got a small box of milk duds whenever I went in there. I dunno, I never even liked them but I guess they were better than the hot tomales.
>I always got a small box of milk duds whenever I went in there. I dunno, I never even liked them but I guess they were better than the hot tomales.
I... feel. I felt.
Kirby Superstar, Super Metroid, and Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko.
I never liked milk duds either, but I always grabbed something. Video games and candy are two of the three great joys in life (the third is legs) and it was just nice having the two in one place every time.
>the Duck Dodgers N64 game
My brother!
I rented Glover, too. Army Men is something I was always interested in playing from seeing it in Nintendo Power, but I just never saw it around or thought about it at the right times.
Say what you will about how hard the N64 lost to the PS1, but memory cards were some absolute bullshit if you were poor or had strict parents.
Manga suck because male "protagonist" suck.
Hybrid Heaven. My WWF obsessed friend won't stop talking about it but he also won't let me borrow his copy.
I rented this. Was pretty good. Demolition derby stuff is fun. There was a pretty good demolition derby segment in the game GRID, but unfortunately it was only 2 stages.
This was one of the first games I played on the PC. The only memory I have of it was thinking that it was fun on easy difficulty, but then when I switched it to normal every other car in the arena would go straight for me as soon as the light turned green.
For me it was RAW
a time machine to go back to 2022 because i prefer the games i have access to now. there is no Sekiro in 1999. frick you and your nostalgia
>he likes modern gaymen
Whats it like having superaids?
who gives a frick about sekiro when you can play rogue squadron and goldeneye?
Earthworm Jim 3D or the Duck Dodgers N64 game and a random WCW PPV VHS tape.
I remember renting the original UFC tapes before it got big. Felt like watching real life Bloodsport.
bro im 3 years old by the time I got internet access I could already pirate everything
Well, enjoy your 15 year vacation.
sexy little Black person
Bomberman 64
Goldeneye, so I can peel the sticker off the back and put it on my broken copy I had at home.
street fight 2 everytime
Nothing, emulators made my nes/snes obsolete and my older bro traded burned pc games with his coworkers. Then emule and high speed internet became a thing.
I rented ogre battle 64 a few times but 1999? Maybe smrpg
I was done renting games after the 4th gen. 5th gen and onward is when I just bought games that interested me. (after doing my research) Darkstalkers 3 was the first PS1 game in my collection. I digress, though; in the mid-90's, my go-to rentals were Sonic & Knuckles and Yoshi's Island.
I can remember renting Glover, Army Men Sarge's Heroes, and Jet Force Gemini
I'm re-renting Rogue Squadron, again. I'm not letting some other moron delete my save file before I have the chance to finish it.
>1999
>uncle(mom best/only friend) dies on moms birthday
>this breaks her more
>shuffled around between her family as shes in and out of hospital
>broke sister manages to get me a ps1 with Duke nukem time to kill and resident evil 3
>one of the handful of gifts Ive ever received
>get to the fountain puzzle in RE3 before I realized you need a fricking memory card
>whatevenismemorycard.bat
>get autistically good by time I can actually play mercenaries mode it's easy af
>can still draw first level of time to kill from memory
I didnt get a memory card for like a year after I got the ps1.
>I didnt get a memory card for like a year after I got the ps1.
must be nice being rich
None, because they were getting divorced.
you owned nothing and you were happy
we're going to Hollywood video and i'm renting a dreamcast, gaywad
if i like it then we're gonna buy one
>renting a game for 2 days for the equivalent of $10 today? Amazing and BASED
>renting a bunch of games for a month for $10? You got fricking cheated hahahahaha you will le own nothing and be le happy!!!
Your mom's pussy.
>renting games
>noo it's not actually renting bro trust me it was renting done right
Gex 3D
>1999
>mom and dad
yeah nah
The Mask for the snes
Pokémon Stadium
Mayor Pain VHS
Popcorn, soda, and Sweetarts
I miss those kinds of movies. Fun movies that were just mostly bullshit scenarios but my child brain could get into and enjoy and you felt good afterwards.
Chameleon Twist on N64
Nice pick. You could get a full experience out of that game in the duration of one rental.
Blast Corps, and a bottle of Sprite.
>tfw getting the "1 free Sprite" bottlecap
Body Harvest for the 64.
Did anyone ever get those "Rent 1, Get 1 Free" coupons?
I used to love getting those in the mail. My dad would take me every Friday and he'd get himself a movie while I'd get both a SNES game and an N64 game
WTF
They are taking my newborn ass to blockbuster? What am I watching?
>you will never know what it's like to browse random vidya you know nothing about and take home a game that will be a complete surprise to you just based on the boxart again
>you will never discover the classics for the first time again
>you will never browse the horror aisle to look at all the monsters on the VHS covers and wonder about them again
Blockbuster came along later, but for me, it was Movie Gallery.
Conker's Bad Fur Day, my parents knew damn well what kind of game it was as well since we played in the living room.
Princess Mononoke. Again.
Idk, maybe 1080 Snowboarding or Diddy Kong Racing. I ended up renting DKR so much it proabably would have paid for it
>and dad
Too busy getting drunk and playing Starcraft 2, frick off mom and dad.
Jersey Devil
Been decades since I played it
Renting Pokemon SNAP and getting a couple of bag of gummy worm.
gauntlet 64 and some butterfinger bb's
MGS
I'm getting Tekken 3 and Heat to watch when I'm done playing Tekken.
I don't know why I rented this more than once. I also remember Bomberman Hero and Paper Mario being my most frequent rentals.
From developer of Star Fox, Crcos and Catwoman to future developer of Arkham series.
Rampage, naturally
I just emulated this game last week on the PlayStation to relive some childhood memories. It's dumb fun
seek help
Seeing Lizzie naked gave me such a child boner
Earthworm Jim
UT99 of course
>go to rental store with older teenage brother
>on mission to rent movie for mom and dad; no fun allowed
>see gumball machine with random FREE RENTAL gumballs in it
>pop in quarter and win
>grab Road Rash 2
>brother puts it back, rents “The Pelican Brief” for parents
>pockets money
I’m glad that fricker OD’d 15 years ago.
>I’m glad that fricker OD’d 15 years ago.
That's a kind of rude thing to say about your brother even if he wasn't nice all of the time
Mace the Dark Age for N64
Renting Trigun on VHS
Best boxart of all time.
Ys books 1 & 2.
>Crash Bandicoot: Warped
>whatever Horror movie grabbed our attention
>popcorn, soda and pic related as snacks
I still remember how Blockbuster smelled like.
Probably try Pokemon snap in the store again then rent some games I never played. Next door to our Blockbuster was a Burger King we used to go to, I'd like to have those chicken tenders again. Then ask my parents to visit NYC for the first time in 2000 lol
I was 18 and playing games like silent hill and stuff, but most of my time was spent in arcades because the third arcade boom was happening. It was pretty fricking awesome - i'm still pretty good at DDR at 41
Based oldanon
My local arcade still has an F-Zero AX machine
a link to the past and pray that it is the cartridge with my savefile or that no one deleted it
