This. I spent five hours today doing raids so I could get the tera shards to change my injected Pokemon's tera types (I had to inject them into SS and PLA then transfer them up through Home so they'd have legitimate home tracker data). That alone was hellish and I still got to skip most of the steps, plus two of my Pokemon are from gen 9 so I was able to inject them right into SV. If the phrase "dreadfully boring" is how someone would describe your game, you've done something seriously wrong.
moronic zoomer take
Piracy took an absolute nosedive the moment Netflix became a thing
People will always prioritize convenience, even if it mean they have to pay

>when Netflix became a thing >a "thing"
You're too moronic to realize how nebulous a phrase that is yet insist on hiding behind it as if it defends anything. You can say it became a thing when it first started, when it became a streaming service, when it started making original shows, when it was recognized enough to start receiving streaming competition, etc.

It's not really that nebulous you're just moronic. He means that good Netflix that provided a wide range of movies and shows conveniently for a low price (which it doesn't anymore because of moronic bullshit like the account sharing crap and all the movies fricking off to those other coal services) was better than piracy for normies. And he's right. Another example is Spotify, I much rather pay them 6 (or 11 if not a student) bucks a month and get access to their wide ass library and all the other features rather than have to find all the shit i want on sketchy websites or youtube.

Please don't tell me you're actually LARPing as a different anon that magically knows precisely the moment he's talking about, since that's pathetic. Regardless, account sharing isn't some recent development so it's laughable you'd try and paint it that way. Netflix just finally had enough because it was overpaying for movies, shows, and stand-ups over the years it thought it'd make the money back on so started cracking down on already commonplace account sharing to attempt to salvage its finances. Netflix putting its foot down didn't mean account sharing was recent, it meant they were finally starting to hurt enough to address whatever was in their power to address. They already tried raising the price several times but obviously that's just a fractional improvement compared to making freeloaders pay full price.

No, the people who pirate stuff generally have zero intention of paying for it. I have a modded 3DS and Switch, and I own over 70 physical games and dozens of digital ones (as well as dozens of PS3 and PS4 games despite having consoles I can mod).
No idea how your response is a "No" given what you said. The piracy is obviously still ongoing.

Aside from your unprovoked crying you basically typed "yes you're correct".

It's pretty laughable the kinds of games that offer services are the real pirates considering they scam people out of money just to eventually hit them with the EoS notice so they lose literally everything.

Yeah, but far less people are willing to pirate when methods of pirating are also easier than an online store.
Plis if GameFreak allowed you to make teams in game like Showdown does, no one would hack.
Yeah, but the moment Steam came out piracy dropped by like 90%, because before steam it was a fricking nightmare to get games on to your PC and it was easier to fricking pirate than get updates/fixes.
Steam is still pretty consumer friendly compared to everything else. I miss the days of being able to buy Steam keys sold for countries like Russia and Turkey using a VPN. But Valve still infinitely better than Epic Games and EA.
Look at how Valve treats their IPs. Even the Steam client us oretty neglected abd had a lot of failed projects and at trying to match others. Like Steam "Chat" getting btfo by Discord merely because Valve can't even do feature parity right despite having the advantage of being tied to the Steam client. Steam broadcast is also steaming shit too.

Idiotic take. Breeding is super tedious so IV removal would be great. Just make us breed for Natures and use EVs for stats. That way nobody has to soft reset for a 0 Speed IV Cresselia or Enamourus. Just use a -Speed Nature and don't invest EVs. I don't know a single person who actually enjoys breeding unless they're shiny hunting and even then it's still mind numbing.

That doesn't mean it's not still tedious. If you have bad luck you can spend several hours breeding with a 5IV Ditto. I've been playing competitive Pokémon since Black and White.
just like they pissed off everybody during the switch from gen 2 to 3, but they got away with it anyway or how they dexcut shitton of pokes or how they removed shitton of moves? yeah, how scary.
That's not remotely comparable. You could still get all the gen 1 & 2 pokemon you want if you simply played the games, only whiny brats and normies ever complained about that back in the day. He's literally saying to remove the gambling and personalization aspect from Pokemon entirely just so battles can be streamlined.
>UH THEY CAN'T REMOVE IVS BECAUSE THEN THERE IS NO POINTO THE GAME CHUDERINO. BECAUSE I SAY SO.
They made an objective of catching pokemon in PLA, so you can complete the dex, after all the story in these games is that you are meant to catch them to help with the proffessor local research. That's all your motivation needed to catch more of them, despite them not having different IVs. They already added caps, mints and else. It is the next logical step and would absolutely end all cheating forever.
They could just normalize them to 31 in multiplayer battles, the way your level is normalized to 50. Yeah, you'd miss out on things like +Atk Beast Boost Stakataka, but, as we saw with the loss of level 49 Pokemon to underspeed in TR, it's not that big a deal and people adapt to the new rules.
I certainly think so, although digital piracy and hacking aren't the same thing. Look at Clover, everybody's undisputed favorite romhack that does nothing wrong. On first learning about its anticheat I was disappointed and thought it meant the creators just hated their audience. This opinion shifted on reaching the postgame and finding all the convenient tools given to the player for EV training, level grinding, breeding, etc. The integration and ease of high level strategy is fantastic, the player can half fill a PC box with viable pokemon with only minimal autism and be justified in doing so. The PC transitions from a trophy shelf to a toolbox. Even better, there are enough challenges in the game to make breeding and grinding worthwhile; a stark contrast to official mainline Pokemon titles. 100%, I had more fun being able to legitimately raise my own 31 IV pokemon with carefully allocated EVs, arranging them into bespoke teams for each battle. Compare injecting, which is something I'd turn to more out of frustration and would qualify much of Clover's postgame as a trashy difficulty hack. Clover struck a balance for me between being attached to my team and being able to know they are performing at their absolute peak. I can hardly wait for the Battle Channel update (Coming Soon™). This is why I love Clover and think GameFreak could learn a thing or two from it in this field.
Verlisify literally cheats himself. Not only has he admitted to genning in DMs but he's also built bots which would absolutely fall under "outside normal gameplay" as far as legitimacy of Pokémon is concerned. He doesn't care about cheating or Smogon and he's admitted this in DMs too, he just calls people out because it's controversial and gets his videos views. It's pathetic a man who has to be around 30 is creating drama for maybe 10K views.
Like basically every competitive game and sport has cheating, or at least attempts. Are you going to try and tell me all those games and sports are simply badly designed? Get real. Shitty analogy is shitty.
What's shittily designed is how much athletes/players stand to gain from performing well. If sports didn't pay as well as they do (both in contracts and advertising/merch opportunities), you'd not see the same level of cheating.
Sports that pay well do so because a lot of people want to watch them. Nobody sat around and arbitrarily decided to pay soccer players billions of dollars for no real reason you economically illiterate child.
People cheat at speedruns just for internet bragging rights. They cheat at cards for a few dollars. It's not just about money. Competitive personalities just tend to cheat at an alrming rate
Honestly I think sports would be better off if they had a roid category and a natty category. Frick the consequences, I want to see how far these morons can possibly push the human body.
Difference is that rules in those games have reasons to exist as a benefit to the game.
Pokemon also has rules that benefit the player, but the genning rule ultimately doesn’t need to exist. Pokemon/GameFreak could 100% put a teambuilder in the game to allow you to make teams, but choose not to anyways.

In every single other competitive e-sport players are given access to consoles or copies of the game with everything unlocked, by the venue, for the sake of convenience.
