It's as if we allowed all mentally incapable to just end their lives even tho they themselves do not have the capacity of thinking properly and expressing their thoughts. And even in moments those moments of lucidity you described, imagine a truly depressed person with no will to live comes to a doctor and he suggests euthanasia instead of bruteforcing this homosexual against his will so that he may live on and potentially find some purpose. Not all forms of depression can be cured.
Physical impairments such as the inability to produce enough catecholamines can be alleviated with drugs.
Robin was a cocaine abuser, and considering he was rich and famous he probably had near limitless access to the pure uncut stuff.
He basically reduced production parts of his brain down to serious levels.

NTA but worked as a nurse at a psychiatric ward in a nursing home (which is pretty much every ward in a nursing home nowadays as people tend to live home unless it is absolutely neccessary) and I've made up my mind to kill myself if I ever get any demetia diagnosis.
It's agony. Pure hell. It's not just a general forgetfulness. It's a complete failure of the mental systems that make you be (you). Most people are stuck in a state of perpetual anxiety, not knowing where they are or why they ended up there. Over time this usually leads to full on delirium. And then after years of being scared out of your mind every day, loss of motor function, loss of speech and years of being a near catatonic diaper-wearing lump of flesh that gets visits once a week if you're lucky. And god be willing we can keep you alive in this state for a decade.
If you'd seen what I've seen, you'd be on the euthanasia bandwagon too.

No bro, it's the fact that even as your body continues to live, your mind is dying. Every day another piece of what makes you you dies and there's nothing you can do about it. It's like death by slow torture. It's no wonder they'd want to just get it over with. And no, nobody "needs" them, their family would want them, but they'd want them to be healthy and happy, not slowly losing their mind in agony with no hope of recovery. When the moments their loved one just isn't there outnumber moments of lucidity, the affected person rightly decides it's time to hang it up in one of those lucid moments.

people killed themselves literally all the god damn time in societies of old
Romans had a well documented culture of suicide, religions such as Jains or even the christian Cathars had it as a tenet people could decide they wanted to stop living
it wasn't something that was always documented that much, but old people choosing to pass away is ridiculously common in human history
And hell it's not even just humans, other intelligent animals do it too, elephants voluntarily remove themselves from the herd to die of exposure, whales intentionally drown themselves
the fact that animals do it doesn't mean it's normal, if bonobo monkeys have intersex orgies it doesn't mean it's normal, this logic is moronic unless you literally see no difference between animal and human

suicide has been a part of human culture since before we were even fully human
it's only really christianity that made it as taboo as it is, and you know why they did that?
Because early christians killed themselves all the time just to get to paradise faster, that's why it was made such a sin

And that was a good thing because they stepped up and gave more value to human life, as it should have

No, overvaluation of human life has lead to the actual value of human life plummetting to the point where most humans are worthless and in fact worthy of death. Kind of like how allowing everyone to get college degrees made them worthless.

He had a pretty uncommon and much more horrific form of dementia too. I'd be willing to bet anybody who gets diagnosed would want a swift death its a toll on yourself and your family. Hell a majority of this board craves suicide and the worst thing thats happened to them is some anime breasts not being in Sony games for a few years.
thing is he didn't get a diagnosis, it was only confirmed post-mortem he had it
from what I've read, the thing that made him tip over the edge is that he completely lost his sense of humor by the end
Lewy body dementia, pretty much the most horrible form of dementia out there
He wasn't depressed, or at least, he wasn't "just" depressed
He was literally losing his entire sense of self, by the time he took his life he had completely lost his sense of humor to the disease
That's why he killed himself, not because he was depressed but because he wanted to die while he still remembered who he was and losing his sense of humor was basically a sort of shock revelation he didn't have much time left
>you mean i have been lied to? >why even keep it a secret all this time?
It was always common knowledge, his best friend Bobcat Goldthwait went on any show or podcast that would have him and told everyone. It was the mental health 'tragic suicide depression le creatives have' brigade that started the massive ad campaign about 'this is what depression looks like' that co-opted his death to push their message about getting mental health workers paid more money and giving more attention to teens and shit.
Williams' mind was going and he knew it, so on a day where he ha his faculties and remembered who he was he took action. He didn't want to live a half life in a body sometimes when he didn't remember who he was or felt like a burden or something. I don't know. But it wasn't a depression issue. It was literally seeing the dementia coming and he wanted to go out on his own terms. It was fricking tragic and the world misses him and wishes he was alright. But he had a really fricked up disease I wouldn't wish on anyone.
Robin Williams also had to pay alimony to 2 ex-wives as well as child support. He never got to enjoy retirement because he kept accidentally marrying gold diggers

Dementia is fricking terrifying. At least cancer can be fought and survived and even if it can't, the self dies along with the body, not before it.
SAN DIEGO, CA – JULY 22: (L-R) Actors Emma Dumont and Percy Hynes White stopped by Nintendo at the TV Insider Lounge to check out Nintendo Switch during Comic-Con International at Hard Rock Hotel San Diego on July 22, 2017 in San Diego, California.
I love Robin williams but shortly before he killed himself he was a fricking mess and basically being carried for a paycheck in shit like night at the museum. He had rapidly developing dementia and the last remotely "I'm actually trying to act" shit he did was the butler. A film not even Ganker remembers exists and was thoroughly mid.
We don't ever fricking remember people until they die. If he'd not killed himself he'd be a literal who remembered by people old enough and non-existent to everyone else: Until he died. Can't wait for Bruce willis to suddenly be universally loved even though again all he was doing until the sponge brain got him was complete trash too and all he gets now is an occasional: Oh that's unfortunate, oh well.
he had undiagnosed dementia, that's why he continued to try to act
Also Robin Williams always was fairly beloved, had a bunch of iconic roles and zero scandals of any kind and without the dementia he would have had a lot of performance in him left
I actually didn't know what happened to him Jesus. I wonder what goes through your mind when you slowly decline like that, unstoppable march towards becoming moronic for life.
My mother has dementia. In her particular case, she has comically short memory retention, like a goldfish.
She has brief moments of clarity and understanding, but then shortly after will go back to thinking she is perfectly alright, we're living in the 90s on her mother's house and I'm 15. Of course, those things are decades in the past and none of them overlapped.

He's probably player 3 given he's posing at the camera while it looks like kirby is just respawning back in. So he lost a stock and looked at the camera while he waited for his guy to come back.

From what I have read they do happen right before your brain dies, as some sort of last chance to say goodbye and they also do not always happen. So how could even the person make that decision when it's already over?
it's a slow process, it's not like you can't do anything before you reach the late stage. it's like saying you will have a nice day once you get old because your gonna die soon, seems moronic to me
Would you rather I kill you right away or can I torture you first?
people lived and died for thousands of years and suddenly everybody is scared so they call it quits, not my jam
People never lived to be old enough to deal with dementia before the modern age.
Prove it.
>never lived to be old enough
yep the disease suddenly appeared out of nowhere in 21st century, good point I lost
the fact that animals do it doesn't mean it's normal, if bonobo monkeys have intersex orgies it doesn't mean it's normal, this logic is moronic unless you literally see no difference between animal and human
suicide has been a part of human culture since before we were even fully human
it's only really christianity that made it as taboo as it is, and you know why they did that?
Because early christians killed themselves all the time just to get to paradise faster, that's why it was made such a sin
And that was a good thing because they stepped up and gave more value to human life, as it should have
No, overvaluation of human life has lead to the actual value of human life plummetting to the point where most humans are worthless and in fact worthy of death. Kind of like how allowing everyone to get college degrees made them worthless.
So people weren't worthy of death back then? It actually meant that everybody even the lowest of the low could make their life worthy of something and that human being is something more than just bunch of cells looking for passing their DNA onto other specimen
>before fully human
>suicide for paradise
tales from my ass
id like to see the source
people killed themselves literally all the god damn time in societies of old
Romans had a well documented culture of suicide, religions such as Jains or even the christian Cathars had it as a tenet people could decide they wanted to stop living
it wasn't something that was always documented that much, but old people choosing to pass away is ridiculously common in human history
And hell it's not even just humans, other intelligent animals do it too, elephants voluntarily remove themselves from the herd to die of exposure, whales intentionally drown themselves
dude, the upper class of those societies offed themselves because of prestige loss or to avoid you know capture & torture at the hands of their enemies, it had nothing to do with "i'm depressed therefore gov must give me the final solution"
there's multiple documented cases of suicide by laudanum for severely debilitated people
also dementia is not depression
In the olden days old people would go out into the wilderness to die rather than burden the tribe
I never heard the dementia angle, only that he was depressed. That's really sad.
Frick, I always thought Robin had a "but doctor I am Pagliacci" moment, never knew it was dementia.
his daughter has been more vocal about it in recent years, trying to raise awareness for the disease and more funding for treatment and research
you mean i have been lied to?
why even keep it a secret all this time?
>you mean i have been lied to?
>why even keep it a secret all this time?
But he had a really fricked up disease I wouldn't wish on anyone.
i feel that. i always thought if i lost my sense of humor i'd want to be killed too. theres really nothing left.
>Yeah he had dementia
>He didn't accidentally hang himself while jerking off
You fell for the cover story anon.
Yeah, that's a new one to me, I just thought he was one of those "comedian on the outside, crying on the inside" type people
Robin Williams also had to pay alimony to 2 ex-wives as well as child support. He never got to enjoy retirement because he kept accidentally marrying gold diggers
was the kid named final fantasy?
Didn't the original police report report death by autoerotic asphyxiation and then it got covered up like immediately?
got that one on /misc/?
Dementia is fricking terrifying. At least cancer can be fought and survived and even if it can't, the self dies along with the body, not before it.
I don’t care how shitty his other movies were, Jumanji was a timeless masterpiece.
Top tier shitpost with no yous? I'll fix that.
he was a joke stealing coke head
Aka, a comedian
What’s the story behind this pic and why does it always get deleted?

Bruce Willis is my favorite actor and I feel bad that he's been reduced to a drooling moron.
sorry bro
I actually didn't know what happened to him Jesus. I wonder what goes through your mind when you slowly decline like that, unstoppable march towards becoming moronic for life.
My mother has dementia. In her particular case, she has comically short memory retention, like a goldfish.
She has brief moments of clarity and understanding, but then shortly after will go back to thinking she is perfectly alright, we're living in the 90s on her mother's house and I'm 15. Of course, those things are decades in the past and none of them overlapped.
He did a film called Boulevard with Bob Odenkirk where both of them did a pretty good job. It was his final film iirc.
Can't find one without the getty images watermark
I love Mr. Show so much
i thought mom and pop porno shop was one of the most hilarious things i ever saw
no i haven't seen it in 20 years
no i don't plan on rewatching it
It still holds up decently but it's fine if you don't want to rewatch it.
thanks for letting me know, i appreciate it
No problem
the bit in the first season with the CEO explaining his backstory got me so good
>my father started this company with nothing but a little elbow grease, a single leaky, rickety slave ship and the motto: People Selling People To People™
Is there anyway to tell who they specifically selected? This has been bothering me for a while
cross is pikachu, you can tell from the purple controller for which there is only 1 purple plug and odenkirk is either player 1 or 3 based on the controller plugs in my image. in yours though you can see player 1 and 2 hands are left on the cursor while odenkirk is holding down on the left stick, probably making his cursor the one at the bottom. also in my pic hes looking at the camera, dejectedly, while kirby, player 3, is respawning.
where is this image actually located, it looks like they're playing one one of those 'try it out' booths but it looks like the inside of an office or some shit
These guys seem cool. I hope one of them makes in onto TV as a likeable but stupid middle management guy, and the other a savant lawyer with many character flaws.
He's probably player 3 given he's posing at the camera while it looks like kirby is just respawning back in. So he lost a stock and looked at the camera while he waited for his guy to come back.
Odenkirk is cool. The other guy is a fricking loser.
I don't know who he is but he looks like a basedjak.
How do we know that? Extremely based if so that's an underrated gem.
David Cross was tolerable until the mid 2000s.

I should think like you. Being cynical is a pain sometimes.
Just pretend, and once you pretend for long enough, one day you're no longer pretending

Film about a douchbag sleez who finally gets his life together only to wind up killed on 9/11 (gif is quite literally the closing shot of the film)
you misread his post, he wasn't asking about the film in the gif.
However, I am curious now. What's the name of the movie?
nta but i believe its called remember me
thanks, I'll give it a watch
>no RAWR X3 gf

I showed that picture to my gf & her immediate response was "omg me"
this comic makes me very very sad for some reason. ; ;
Because both the internet and society have become incredibly cynical and jaded, and if you're at least 30 or so years old you remember before when even this place, jaded as its always been, was comparatively in bloomer 24/7 mode compared to the average person now. normalgays ruined the internet and the internet ruined normalgays
Reminder that megatokyo is somehow still fricking going.
Actually in disbelief after checking. I don't know if i have it in me to try and re-read any of this to catch up.
I had a domo shirt but my mom stretched out the chest area and looked all strange on me after she gave it back. I don't even know why she took it she doesn't even like domo

normies don't have hobbies. They pretend to be busy, then swipe through Facebook/Instagram all day
This guy singlehandedly turned PC gaming from weird neckbeard fatso hobby to chad hobby singlehandedly. PCMR guys should donate to him lmao.
wasn't he in some shithole like Indonesia and had to build a fricking computer because he was craving some warhammer total war?
>PCMR guys should donate to him lmao.
Why should they? It doesn't make parts cheaper and just flood the market with dumb gamer-labeled RGB bullshit wares for normalgays
It always was Chad'd, tourist. Terry Crews also did it.

Robin used to play quake back then so I wouldn’t be surprised
Close but I think it's actually Ground Zero Texas.
I had that same parrot toy when I was a kid. Damn I wonder where it is now.
Me too anon. I think I still have it in my closet. It never really worked. Like most 90s toys that were battery powered
>Ultraman figure
My homie
Robin had historically good taste
i wonder what his favorite ultra show was.
obviously he liked the original, but i feel like he'd like 80, dunno why but it just feels right.
I have that horse plush, albeit in a different coat colour. When you squeeze one of its hooves, a little light on its forehead turns on.

Microsoft doesn't want you to know that the Xbox was invented by the nazis and given to the government after Operation Paperclip. The original X in the brand was a swastika.
So your claim is the nazis would have marketed it as an 卐box ?
The swastibox. Rolls off the tongue doesn't it.

Sega sure had a thing for Michael Jackson.
Mj loved videogames so much he had one made.
It's a sub par platformer where Michael saves a bunch of little girls.
The end level is a kino giant robot boss battle. That you know Michael had Kojima levels of.... something, rattling around in his brain.
I wouldn't call that game subpar it's actually pretty fun even if it's weird and difficult at points. I actually own the Genesis cart it goes for a lot of money these days.

Damn, she was a gamer since long ago
If I remember correctly, she was playing Tetris here. About the only thing she played.
Tetris on the GameBoy was the first indication that phone games would be massive amongst women. No offense to Tetris, it’s a legitimate game, but it really was 20 years ahead of the curve.
Sounds like my grandmother.
She had a gameboy when I was five, but the only game she ever had for it was Yoshi.

I know capeshit has fallen-out of favor in the public consciousness but the cast is fricking based here for using actual hardware even busting out the link cables.
I kind of already miss the capeshit boom.
I hope you stub your toe every day for the rest of your life for saying that.
It's not like it was ALL shit. Just greedy companies all going for a Gold Rush trying to capitalize on the trend as they always do.
I enjoyed the first Guardian's movie with my dad. I think it's the only one where "marvel quips" are allowed since, it's a comedy.
WHERE THE VIDEO GAMES?????
>SNES Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball
That is one of the most fun sports games of all time
Oh never mind I'm an idiot, I didn't see the NES. The UI looks like KGJB though, weird.
It was developed internally at Nintendo since they owned the Seahawks so you know it's a quality baseball game in that instance.
That explains it. I never cared for baseball vidya but that game just has something special. I remember crying laughing at how zany you could make the pitches to screw with your friends when they were batting.
STOP PLAYING VIDEOGAMES
I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF YOUR STUPIT VIDEOGAMES

GOLF WANG
Ah, good times. Never got to see them live.
Couldn't find a picture of Trent actually playing vidya but did find one of him hanging out with John Carmack and his ex wife. There's another one of them hanging out with Robin Williams too.
Man trent looks high on cocaine there.
He was preeeeetty fricked up on drugs circa 1997-2002 or so. That's basically why NIN went on a six year long hiatus between The Fragile and With Teeth.
Yeah i already knew that but i still find it funny that he was that high when working with id software, maybe that explains why the beta quake sounds are so bizarre specially the ogre roar "woah!" 100% kino.
I like to think Robin Williams was genuinely happy being there because he allowed to be himself and enjoy videogames instead of feeling the need to act constantly like a clown
Robin williams looks like he wants to kill himself in that image.
I can't believe John possessed that dog and raped Trent's wife leading to the divorce.
it's clear that Trent has massive respect for the id guys. the booklet for the quake vinyl is really cool and he went out of his way to release it despite Bethesda blocking it.
Robin Williams died so long ago now that zoomers don't even know who he is. Damn.....
Robin Williams played a demo of Spore in front of a live audience and made a joke about israelites, extremely based
Yeah, and I bet there was no hate behind it. Frick off.
He's a comedian, made a israelite joke, and the audience laughed. What's wrong Shlomo can't take a joke?
Because you're making it to be about your beliefs.
Don't you have some palestinian civilians to genocide?
I'm not israeli you fricking weirdo, I just called you out and you got butthurt. I support Palestine.

so she just likes movies
You'd think a man who regularly called people homosexuals in CoD lobbies would vent enough to prevent suicide
>gdm fw900
Robin Williams was a CRT chad.
Shame all those parasitic prostitutes drove him to suicide.
I miss him bros. He was a light in the world. Then Will Smith had to come in and trash his legacy with a live action failure. If there's an afterlife, I hope he's happy.
Is this real?
Yes. Loads of people had Game Boys that had never otherwise touched vidyas.
Can confirm. My mom and I shared a Pokemon Red save. She would play while I was at school.
She also watched me play Last of Us. I love my mom.
I love your mom too

I wish Wes Borland was in the full makeup there.
This is sponsored shit, I refuse to believe any women especially beautiful celebrity types played video games in 90's
I didnt know robin williams was a woman.

So is that pretty much it? Bout thirty pictures of famous people playing vidya? I mean "traditional" celebrity not E-Celeb of course there is a million pictures of E-Celebs playing vidya.
Elon Musk apparently played Quake, and even went pro. Is this true?
As with anything in Musk's life; someone else did and he used his fathers money to claim the rights to it.

Leah Remini was really hot back in the day. Also pretty based. She joined Scientology and later renounced it, calling them out on all their bullshit very publicly.
you need to speak English to pull these off
I hate this fricking show.
why?
There's literally no lower form of television than sitcoms from the 2010's onwards. They're the most soulless, unfunny and formulaic garbage.
